The front desk team deserves an award for being friendlier than my own family, and the dental staff? Absolute pros. Gentle, patient, and somehow able to carry on a conversation while I'm answering in caveman grunts with tools in my mouth. I went in expecting the usual "just survive this" experience... and left thinking, "Wait... do I like going to the dentist now?" That's suspicious. I do not recommend Blue Wave Dental. Unfortunately, I had two procedures there that resulted in significant problems, and the office did not stand behind the work. The first was a crown placed by Dr. Comerford. It never felt right despite multiple adjustment appointments. It eventually became infected and required a root canal, but I continued to have pain and gum inflammation. After seeking opinions from several dentists and an endodontist, I was told the crown did not appear to fit properly and that replacing it was the best option. The second issue occurred after a filling on a neighboring tooth. My bite immediately felt off, and the dentist who treated me afterward told me the tooth had been over-adjusted. Correcting my bite required months of treatment and adjustments to many of my upper and lower teeth before I could bite comfortably again. When I contacted Blue Wave Dental, I wasn't asking for a refund. I simply asked if they would submit an adjustment with my insurance so the crown could be eligible for replacement coverage. They declined and told me that because the work had already been completed and I had accepted the risks of the procedure, there was nothing they could do to help. They refused to warranty the crown or offer any other resolution, leaving me to pay for corrective treatment elsewhere. This was a painful, frustrating, and expensive experience. Based on my experience, I encourage anyone considering treatment here to ask questions, seek a second opinion if something doesn't feel right, and carefully weigh their options. read more

This place was awful to me today and just always over priced. This is not the first time that I have came here calling them that I would be about 10-15 minutes late just for me to walk in the door and they say I have to reschedule after driving 35 minutes here getting off work. They look at me like I'm poor and like construction on the bridge was my fault even when I left 45 mins early(and told them that calling 15 mins ahead that this was happening) That lady margarita is so rude and they all look at people with mental health problems and people with out perfect teeth like they are unfortunate and shamed they are just entitled rude *** people. After the thousands of dollars I spent on this place and the work I've got done here and coming to this place for years before if got bought out by this entitled privileged company I've always had a sweet spot for this place but honestly after today never again I hope I do find a better fit dentist for me bc this one sure wasn't it. Today made me change my opinion really quick. I'm super upset I feel like staying back an extra 10-15 mins wouldn't have hurt anybody and they could've made the situation work out regardless. And if the case was that they didn't have any time and they closed that one on Fridays for some weird reason when I was on the phone with them, calling say I was gonna be 15 minutes late they should've been like let's just reschedule in the beginning if that was the case. I'm just very upset I wasted my time yet again and nobody took in my feelings and hard attempt just coming here some people really dont know what others are going thru and really just don't care and they made that very clear. read more

Started going here about a here ago, my wife and I. I just need cleanings and she need extensive work. Dr. Comerford was excellent. So was my hygienist. A lady, don't know here name. All was good until they overcharged us by nearly $1,000. Ok, that is fine - so send me a check or call me and I will pick it up. By the way the Staff always seemed very good too. However, it was comedy of errors with accounting and whoever was initially responsible for taking what should have been simple actions. Two months later we finally received the check. We are done, will not go back. Dr. Comerford and associate please hold your staff accountable they are killing you. read more

I have been a long time patient and today I had an issue with my implant which was 10 yrs old. They got me in a couple hours after I called. They took care of it and got everything done so I was out with in an hour. Had dental emergency and they went out of their way to get me in quickly, provide evaluation, then set appointment within week to treat/resolve my emergency. They have all equipment needed, including 3-d xray, to evaluate teeth at root level or if cracked, etc. They provide full spectrum of treatment including root canals, crowns, implants and pull teeth if needed.-a 1 stop full service DDS. Also worked closely with my insurance to verify what was covered before treatment. And everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful! read more

Maybe I just have bad luck because this place is always miss with me instead of hit-or-miss. Get a tooth fixed and have to go back twice for the same tooth. Overpaid at some point, and was given "credit" instead of a refund (also wasn't notified of it). Went again months later for another tooth that always needed to be fixed since I left the Navy. Can't get the tooth numb and stayed for close two hours while they grind away. They billed the stuff wrong to insurance company so now I have balance. They chose snail mail and there's a very good chance I almost didn't receive the bill in time because Im moving and a change of address almost always results in lost/late mail. Yeah, I have to pay more but that's not even the point. You choose third class mail and give a couple of days to pay a bill before you're delinquent or you just don't give people any amount of time which is worse, especially now. Not a fan of the materials they choose but ehh. The payment methods are write down all the information, send it to them. Send a check or pay over the phone. Don't be the idiot that sends your credit card information along with your address through the mail. Your address is included alongside the CC information in the letter. They get credit for being open during the pandemic or else this would be a 1 star. read more

When they say "family dental" they mean it! I feel like I'm part of their family. My dentist is Dr. Comerford, he's funny and cool and makes me feel valued. I've been in there more than normal lately due to some issues and he's willing to hear my problems and offer a solution. The lobby staff is friendly, the place is very clean and calming. My hygienist remembers personal things about me from the last visit and is gentle when doing the cleaning. I'm really happy I found them. Ever since Dr. Evens left and a corporation bought out the practice, my family has had bad and questionable experiences here. Three of us were told that we had cavities between multiple teeth, after not having cavities for years, if not decades. My first daughter got the fillings, which fell out within a week. Two of us went for a second opinion and were told that our teeth are perfect, no cavities to be found. My daughter, who is in college, was shamed for having "stained teeth" and told that she should spend over $1000 dollars on their whitening treatment. I was told that I should replace an older filling because it is silver. If it isn't broken, why fix it? My last appointment there, before seeking the second opinion, was a nightmare. They took over 20 x-rays, leaving little time to clean my teeth, and costing me way more than a cleaning should with my insurance. They told me that they would need to break down my next cleaning into two appointments, cleaning half of my mouth each time, needing to numb me. Like I said, my new dentist said that my teeth are perfect. He cleaned my teeth yesterday without needing to break it down into two cleanings or needing to numb me. In my opinion, something funny is going on at this practice. I, personally, would avoid going here anymore. It is sad. read more

I've had a few procedures here ranging from exams/cleanings to fillings and the dreaded root canal/crown. Minimal discomfort and it's a very relaxed space considering that being a dental patient can raise anxiety. They accept insurance and appointments are preferred, but I believe they can accommodate walk-ins to some extent. Free water and Keurig coffee in the waiting room. read more

I wrote a 'rateabiz' review after receiving an email request along with a link from Evens Family Dental. My appointment with them was a little over two weeks ago. 'rateabiz' chose not to publish my lengthy but true two star review of my experience with this practice. This practice has 1158 'rateabiz' reviews and nearly all are 5 star along with a few 4 star reviews. That stat alone speaks volumes. Bottom line is that I paid $134 with a credit card (no insurance) to have one upper, rear gold crown re-cemented that had come loose two nights prior. I told the dentist, his assistant, and the lady who took my appointment that I had been having bite pain for over a month but that the pain seemed to be one or two teeth forward. I also wrote on the patient questionnaire the same information. After the dentist cemented the crown he told me to come back if I still had pain but took no further action and didn't offer to check the teeth forward of the crown. No way would I ever go back to this dental practice. Thankfully so far, the crown hasn't come loose again but the pain I had prior to the re-cement has never changed and it's been over two weeks since the appointment. read more
