Friends of the NBPL just had a luncheon at Bluebird Kitchen earlier today. The food was delicious, and the staff was great! The event coordinator, Amanda, was very helpful as well. She communicated with me promptly & she was extremely accommodating. Bluebird Kitchen was the only restaurant willing to give separate checks to each attendee. Also, I requested that we all sit together at long tables & when we arrived the tables were setup banquet style. Had this place bookmarked so we have it a try with 2 kids. interesting vibe as it has a diner look but fancier farmhouse like decor. we started with arugula and beet salad with basalmic vinaigrette. Us grownups got pasta dishes, mohawk and pesto which were very good..and the kids got macaroni and cheese with fries on the side lol. kids raved about the mac & cheese. morgan was our server but the other staff were attentive and friendly too. prices a bit high and portions smaller than i'm used to but i can live with that if the food tastes good and it did. read more

Visited this new spot 3 days after the grand opening. First impressions: ample parking lot, beautiful outdoor murals, warm welcoming entrance, custom branded matchbooks at hostess stand, and overall amazing decor. We chose to sit at the bar. The "DON'T STOP BELIEVING" cocktail was perfectly balanced and exactly what was expected . Started with the app of zucchini/eggplant chips and spicy avocado hummus. Delicious, crispy, VERY creamy hummus (but not spicy). Wish the portion was a little larger, but overall no complaints. Moved straight on to dessert of BANANA CREAM PIE. While we were waiting for our dessert, we noticed many people ordering the Chocolate Chip Cookies, which were plated beautifully with the cutest little glass of milk. The banana cream pie had a natural banana flavor and the chocolate sauce underneath was a perfect touch. We also ordered espresso martinis, which the bartender did not hesitate to make for us. When our check came out (which was served on the cutest postcard, with the signature Bluebird branding), the manager also came over and asked us about our dining experience. No complaints and very happy with our experience so early on in their introduction to the neighborhood. I went here for the first time last week and I was incredibly impressed by EVERYTHING. I ate outdoors on their side terrace, and the atmosphere was great. The tables have nice umbrellas that keep them from getting too hot and create some nice shade. If you prefer to eat indoors, then you're in luck with that as well; the interior was clean and had a sleek design that created a nice atmosphere. I would classify the overall "category" of the food served here as "New American." It is very diverse and with many influences from all over the world, too! The service was fabulous. The wait staff were incredibly courteous and patient, and the quality of the food matched the atmosphere and feel of the entire restaurant. I came for brunch, and ordered the avocado toast which came topped with radishes, micro greens, onions and caviar. I also added smoked salmon. The piece of sourdough toast was generously piled with avocado and the other toppings and kept me very full and satisfied. Drinks are great! The ambience and services are good, having a parking lot is a plus. Ordered a scampi pasta, turned out to be shrimp not scampi. Pasta was sour because they put way too much lemon juice. Also ordered a short ribs benny, it was shredded/pulled short ribs. The poached eggs were almost hard boiled, this is my first time having hard boiled poached eggs for benedict. Bluebird kitchen was such a welcome addition to the neighborhood several years ago and I'm happy to say they have still been providing the best quality food and service. Not only is this an excellent brunch or dinner spot it is also a fantastic place to host a party. When planning both my events here (first my baby shower and a year later my son's first birthday - full circle moment) we worked with Amanda who, with her team, executed the perfect event. Amanda was always available to answer my questions and assist with planning every detail. Day of she worked tirelessly to make sure everything went as smooth as possible, and it did. There was endless amounts of food and my guests always bring up how delicious everything is. The waitstaff and bartender tended to each guest so quickly no one ever wanted for anything. 10/10 recommend having an event here or simply enjoying a great meal read more

We've been here a couple times now and each time it is wonderful. Recently went with a larger group which allowed us to try and share many apps and they were all so delicious- pineapple salad, cob salad, eggplant frites. The cocktails are also very good. I have been to Bluebird about a half dozen times, and it has always been great in terms of both food and service. In this review I want to specifically focus on the bridal shower that we held there for my sister this past September, 2024. We chose Bluebird because we liked the food and the service was always great, but we were blown away by the fantastic party Amanda and her team threw for my sister. Truly, they made everything so easy and so fun it seemed effortless - and I know it wasn't. It was their hard work that made it so. We had about 45 guests and I am still hearing, weeks later, unprompted rave reviews about how great the party was, and how it was the best shower so and so ever attended. All this is to say, I cannot recommend Bluebird enough if you are planning on hosting an event there. Amanda is a gem and if her boss is reading this, give her a raise. I would host another party at Bluebird in a heartbeat. People kept saying how they couldn't wait to go back and try it with friends and family. So, thank you Amanda, and thank you to the team at Bluebird, for what was such a memorable and amazing occasion. Cesar salad was good. the salmon and burger were the worst The salmon was floating on a sea of oily " rice"? , the oily rice was gladly replaced with pile of mashed potatoes, not a serving, a pile, with a small piece of salmon. Under no circumstances would we return. Very disappointed, the manager did try to resolve these issues, however to grossed out to substitute anything else. Major issue with the credit card machine, charged twice, not accepted, successful payment with another card , checked upon arrival home , technically paid three times until this resolved. read more

I visited bluebird twice and really enjoyed the food the food so far. My favorite has been the pineapple straciatella salad, truly a divine dish, and the huge chicken milanese thats perfectly crispy. The creme brulee pancakes were a bit of a miss for me in terms of actually being brulee'd, but they tasted good. I've also tried the chicken sandwich and the short rib benedict, good tasting but not my favorite. The cocktails are also great!! read more

Been here for both lunch and dinner and I love it. I love that the menu isn't overwhelming and they instead nail on their dishes well. The drinks were fantastic as well. It's definitely big but the service was right on top of it regardless of it being a Saturday night rush last time we were there. They have items clearly marked as Gluten Free and knowledgeable when talking that the need is due to Celiac allergy as opposed to just a dietary preference. I've been wanting to try Bluebird now for a bit I'm glad we stopped in and had dinner. The food was delicious , great cocktails too. We started with the pigs in blankets so good with everything bagel seeds. I ordered the chicken Melanzane it was crispy and had a nice amount of salad on top. My girlfriend ordered the skirt steak which was cooked perfectly. The only issue we had was that the service was spotty Took a good 10 minutes for anyone to come to our table to take drink orders and appetizers. When we finished our meal check was brought to the table without being asked for it. I would have checked out the dessert menu or had an after dinner drink, but it didn't seem like that was an option . I get that they want to turn over the tables but at least give the option if we want to order deseert. I'll return regardless of the spotty service since the food and drinks had been good. Let me tell you. I've been to Bluebird a couple of times, and have been happy. Not thrilled or blown away but happy. The other day I went and ordered the Greek Burger. Best I've had in years. The lamb was so juicy, they give you a real slice of feta (not crumbles) and the tang from the pickled red onions....it hit all the notes. Service is always great. Wish they'd extend or change up their appetizers and dessert options. Also, drinks are not cheap but they do not skimp on the alcohol. You will get your moneys worth. read more

My wife and I have been coming here for awhile. We don't write many reviews but we feel this restaurant is definitely worth the effort. First off they have a happy hour from 4 to 6 that includes some of the same appetizers on the main menu but at reduced prices. They even have Prosecco on tap as well. During a recent visit they put a new version of their NY Strip that included caulilini which is a sweet baby cauliflower - picture included. This was a nice change of pace from our usual sandwich or burger routine. We can recommend those as well. Other recommendations are the squash salad, the broccolini and Nonna Pie - get it with honey! Pictures included as well. You'll find that the menu prices are just moderately above the chain restaurants such as TGI Fridays but well in line with those of the local dining establishments. Well worth it in our opinion. And finally we've had great service by all of the staff who have served us. I'm told they can also do parties on site as well. read more

Went here on my graduation day. Food was slow and expensive, but wow, did the taste and quality overcompensate for the fact that it took so long and its price. It was very good. Had a great dinner tonight at Bluebird Kitchen in Bellmore. The food & service were outstanding. Unfortunately I was so excited when the food arrived that I forgot to take pictures. The menu has a great assortment of cocktails, wine & beer. We began our meal with a delicious tempura battered zucchini & eggplant frites which was accompanied by a luscious avocado hummus. For dinner we had a crispy pounded & breaded chicken Milanese which was topped with a mixed arugula salad along with a creamy vinaigrette dressing and an abundance of shaved pecorino, an absolute winner. The other entree was a pasta special which consisted of a pasta shape I have not previously seen, and was accompanied with roasted mushrooms & vegetables in a cheesy creamy sublime sauce. An item of note is that all pasta's are homemade, and if this special pasta is indicative of the other pasta's I can't wait to try them. Finally, we ended the meal with a homemade pecan creamy cheesecake that certainly would be a winner in a cheesecake competition. Similar to pasta's, all the desserts are made in house by an on-site pastry chef. Finally, they have a very nice outdoor patio with heaters. All in all this was a great experience, and I highly recommend this relative newcomer to the Long Island restaurant scene. read more

We had my daughters baby shower here with 64 guests in attendance. Amanda was amazing in helping us coordinate everything. We chose a brunch style and every dish served family style. The presentation and food was amazing. Our mixologist made some of the most amazing cocktails and accommodated every individual taste as well as pleasantly surprised many of the guests with some over the top cocktails. I just hosted an event at Bluebird Kitchen this past weekend, and was so thrilled with my experience. The food is excellent (such a unique menu - a nice change from all of the monotonous Italian food of the South Shore), the service was attentive but not intrusive, and the atmosphere is so cute and calm. I have hosted a few events at restaurants in the area over the years, and this was by far my favorite experience. I can't recommend Bluebird Kitchen for an event enough! This has become a new neighborhood favorite. I liked it just by the name of it, and then the decor with the blue booths, open airy high ceilings made it homey and cute like you're in a good friend's kitchen. The first time we went was the night of superbowl , and maybe because it was a quiet night or this is typical, but as I ordered my cocktail the waiter said it was ladies night!- sweet deal. I'd love to know when those specials are now, if any. Their mac and cheese is one of my faves of all time (and trust me I've tried a LOT of mac!). Their crispy chicken was good but def has a kick with that hot honey. Pulled pork was satisfying. Haven't had their gnocchi in a bit so I'll have to go back for it. What's nice is they are on DoorDash, so we can have a date night there or some nights with no babysitter just order date night here.
