we LOVE taking our girls to BlueBird! located in the heart of OB, we have been a number of times. Time and time again our girls LOVE the space! thanks to a fellow yelper who introduced us to them, when they hosted their little bday party! We really like coming on the weekends!, a few things to know: there is a waiver that can be signed up in adv., kids need grippy socks and adults need regular socks. Lets see there is an infant area, but for toddlers the ship, houses, pretend play ice cream karts, kitchens, dolls and slides is what really does it. they have a bathroom that is potty kid and diaper change station friendly. there is a back parking lot that can get full relatively fast, there is street parking around. they are located on the 2nd floor of the building. they have a shop with toys/books. what I really like is that all pretend play structures are of high quality and well built! this last time, our girls participated in the music class and had a blast with the drums!... very nice vibrant colors not just in the structures but also in the paintings, the floor has high quality cushiony mats, there is also couches for adults! I took my son to Bluebird Play for their free play / holiday event. I came right when they open at 9am, afraid it would be super packed, but to my surprise, there were only a few other kids there at the time. We signed the digital waiver, confirmed we had grip socks, and went right into the play space. The play space was adorable, fun, and perfect for toddlers! The staff prioritized safety and limited the space to 25 kids. It did get pretty crowded and a bit chaotic around 9:45/10am, but that is likely because of the free day and that Santa was coming at 10am. They also had a guitarist who mentioned he gives music lessons there weekly on Saturdays. I imagine it wouldn't normally be at max capacity on a regular business day. As far as regular business, it is $25 for the whole day (can leave and return) which seemed very reasonable. They are open for birthday parties as well. My son had an absolute blast! They had five main areas to the space - two princess like area with dress up outfits, a pink house with play kitchens, dolls, a pirate ship, a treehouse with legos, and a fenced in baby area. Three of the play structures had slides from the second floor. All of the structures were made of wood, as well as the toys (play food, cars and trucks, etc). The floor was foam padded as well. They have nice couches for parents to sit and a cute bookstore in the lobby and also some snacks for purchase. They have a parking lot, that to my surprise, was also not full! They are located on the second floor above the OB Noodle house. A perfect location to grab a bite after or check out the beach. Really loved this concept and the space. The sweetest and most intentional kids play place! We've gone a few times for open play and hosted our daughter's 4th birthday party here - the fairytale theme was perfect for her princess party! Amanda and her team and so kind and easy to work with when booking the space. We also found their rates to be very reasonable - both for the open play and the party packages. Great indoor playground for toddlers! We came as guests to a 2 year old birthday party and were able to bring our twin toddlers. I loved that they had lots of seating areas for adults, three differently themed structures with stairs and slides for the kiddos (one a house with a kitchen downstairs and bedroom upstairs, one a pirate ship, the the last a camping/wilderness themed one with a lego table upstairs). It was one of the few places were I didn't feel like I had to tail my toddlers around to make sure they don't fall off anything because they had good railings and safeguards. There's also a gated area for those who are not yet super mobile, although many toddlers found opening and closing the gate to be a really fun game. What was a really nice touch was the bathroom inside that had a spacious changing table with a diaper genie and diapers and wipes for clients to use. read more

Highly recommend this kids play space. We brought 5 and 7 yr old kids to this indoor bookstore and play area. The kids LOVED it and so did the parents. For kiddos who enjoy imaginative play, this space is fantastic. There are beautifully crafted castles, costumes, slide, tree house, ship, etc. with lots of bright light, a kids bookstore, clothing and snacks for sale, and a small outdoor patio area to eat. There is also a small parking lot below the shop. Dan is one of the owners and he was super kind and patient with the kids. Also, they allow you to purchase your day pass admission without any strict timer. You can use the full day pass till closing and then return if you step out. We absolutely adore this place! We have come a handful of times and it has always been great. The owner is really lovely and super sweet! I will say this, there have been two times when I have come in and felt a little overwhelmed and un impressed by one of the workers. I do not know if it is the owner's husband or if he just works there, but there have been a few instances where he has handled things inappropriately. They are absolutely allowed to have rules and they are absolutely allowed to enforce them in order for their space to stay clean and safe for everyone. However, the way that this guy enforces them is degrading and overwhelming. I don't think that it is appropriate for him to be snapping at people and and stepping in before the parent does. My daughter carried in an unopened juice box today, and he seemed a little manic about it, and started snapping at her and at me telling me that it isn't allowed. Having been there a handful of times, I already knew this and was going to correct my daughter, but he had already stepped in and made her feel nervous. I was going to call her back over into the store and buy the juice and explain to her that she has to drink it in the lobby. Like I said, they are allowed to enforce their rules, but he did not even let me have the chance to help my daughter through the situation before he was snapping his fingers at us and acting a little frantic about it. This is not the first time it has happened and it just makes the experience not as pleasant. This is supposed to be a kid friendly environment and sometimes messes and accidents happen and he just makes it feel very stressful. I can tell he is a really nice person and enjoys his job but it just seems like a little much. We really do love this place and will be back, I just think this needs be addressed. read more

As a mom this store has almost anything you would need to keep your child entertained, and a bathroom you may use while playing with a changing table for your convenience. You can bring food to eat, but you would have to eat outside they do have tables. Snacks, and beverages available for purchase on site as well. The best part is the bookstore, and the clothing section so many cute dresses, and dress up items for the kids. read more

This place is absolutely a child's dream! Huge two-story playhouses, a castle, a pirate ship, a tree house. They have slides from the second floor levels. There is dress up clothes, play kitchen stuff, books, a huge swing, elegant couches for grown ups, and even a space for crawlers that is enclosed. It's tucked away on the second floor, we had a hard time finding it at first. Don't forget socks, and your imagination! It is a bit pricey, $25 for a day pass, $20 each if you're brining for siblings. They do have play passes that bring that price down a bit. Highly recommend if you're in the area. We had a great time today! Not only is this play place the cutest but the owner amazing! My daughter had a bit of a breakdown and the owner came over read her a book and gave her a weighted blanket, it really helped (I will be buying one) and so appreciated it. Absolutely everything about this place is top notch. They hosted our 2yr old's birthday party and handled all the details. The space was lovely and the all the kids had the most amazing time playing on the slides, with the pretend play areas and all the dress up options. They didn't want to leave!
