There's about a half acre of green space directly behind the park and you can see the lake in the near distance through the trees. This green space seems to be used as an impromptu softball field. It should be noted that there is no boat ramp here, nor any public bathrooms. It does have a small rocky parking lot for about 10 cars.

This is a local park in Marble Falls that is just less than a mile from the city center area. On…read moreone side are some residential homes and on the other is the Backbone Creek. It does have one covered picnic area, but there are several picnic tables scattered about the property, several with their own grills. Many of these picnic tables are constructed from limestone and polished pink granite. On the property, sits a dog park, playscape, public bathrooms, basketball court, and even a frisbee golf course. There is also a crushed limestone trail that runs through the park and continues on to Johnson park. It's a nice park for the locals and visitors alike.

There are pavilions available and plenty of areas to sit down. The parking are was really good. There are several jungle gyms for the kiddos. The walking trail is well kept and free or holes or anything that will cause you to fall. I saw wildlife along the way. People were fishing, eating, walking, playing games, and just enjoying life. Beautiful lake with fishing, and kayak, canoes and paddleboars to rent. Lots of birds and great hiking among boulders and rocks. Will come back on future trips.

If smells bother you even slightly, avoid that cabin at all costs. Not sure if others smell like it now too, and a bunch of jerks have just chain smoked in all cabins or just this one.

All of our cocktails were expertly made by their mixologists. All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating, and we were treated like regulars on our first, but not last, visit. The branches are low and extend into the roadway. I had to pull them back while my husband backed into the site. They could have scratched the side of the coach if we hadn't done that. We asked camp staff to trim those back, but they never came. Pulling out of the site into the road had to be done carefully as well. Just enough room to miss those branches. Maybe we need to start carrying loppers :) Also beware of the fire ants this time of year and lots of mosquitoes. Poor water pressure. We actually didn't even have water at times (mostly during the weekend when the park was full) You can swim/float on the river right in the park. The town is small but you can walk or ride your bike there. If you go left when entering the state park, the roadway will take you to a city park. You can ride into town from there so you don't have to cross busy Hwy 281.
