Amazing! This small store front restaurant is a gem. I had the Bourbon Glazed Pork chop, easily a top 3 pork chop ever. Nicely cooked with an even better tasting smoke and glaze. I strongly recommend it. Our server, Jaelyn, was very busy, since this appear to be a place where the locals hang out. She was very friendly, and attentive. We ordered takeout from here on a Tuesday evening around 4-4:30. We walked-in to order, and the person who took our order was nice and patient as we looked over the menu and ordered. Food took about 15 minutes or so to be prepared, as expected. My wife ordered pulled pork, baked beans, and Mac & cheese (which they give you a generous and delicious portion of pulled pork but she said the baked beans tasted like she was eating a fire pit (they were so smokey-tasting) and the Mac & cheese was ok but nothing special). I ordered fried cheese sticks, a pulled chicken sandwich and fries (which all tasted good but nothing particularly stood-out. They do put a nice seasoning (presumably old bay seasoning or something similar) on the fries which I enjoyed) We both got the house bbq sauce but neither of us thought it was standout good. It wasn't bad though. Overall, the food and service was good so I'd say stop-in if you are hungry for bbq, but if you're a well-traveled bbq enthusiast you may want to temper your expectations. read more

Florida gator, Rodney Scott whole hog in Charleston, brisket from Black's in Lockhart, TX, pulled pork from Arrowhead Archery in KY...Bluegrass 'que stands proudly with the pantheon of destination locations for amazing BBQ. A small, industrial feel place, it is perfect for family dining. Super friendly staff greet you and treat you like old friends. The food itself is the pinnacle of your visit. Thick cut Bourbon-glazed Pork Chops, perfect bite-thru Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Wings that are these best that I have EVER tasted (see my photos in the review). And the sides are NOT an afterthought here - they are just as good as the awesome mains. I walked in excited to eat bbq but saw sign that said 4% charge for credit cards. That is outrageous. I walked out and did not/would not eat here. Edit: I am aware credit cards charge a fee though it is not 4% and I have never ever seen a restaurant with such a high credit card fee. The irony of claiming "America" is not lost when we know the real reason many businesses push their clients to cash is not the credit card fee, but to avoid their responsibility as an American to help fund our military, healthcare, police/fire departments, schools and libraries etc. read more

Bailey was our friendly, informative server. Wifey ordered pulled pork with fried potatoes and cole slaw. It was all good. Bluegrass BBQ also makes their own sauce, mild, hot and extra hot. Wifey used the mild. I tried both mild and hot. The hot was good enough to buy a bottle to take home. Not TOO hot, just right. I spoke with the owners which is a couple. They opened just before COVID hit and restaurants were told to shut down. They made it through their hard time by Takeout orders. I'm not surprised they survived. I am confident Bluegrass BBQ is the best place to dine in Leitchfield and probably Grayson County. I ordered wings due to a review I read where someone claimed Bluegrass BBQ served up the BEST wings they EVER had. I was not disappointed. I also ordered smoked baked beans which had the smoked flavor. I liked that and was the first time ever eating smoked baked beans. I also ordered collard greens which has shredded meat in it. That was a PLUS and Bailey suggested a little vinegar in it which I tried. That was a very nice addition. Wifey and I don't usually have dessert when dining out, but Bailey convinced us to try something. Everything sounded so good so I asked Bailey what she would order. She told us the White Chocolate Cheesecake with strawberry sauce was her favorite. We ordered that and shared it. Wifey and I both liked it very much. Panita, one of the owner's, told us she drives to Louisville for the strawberry sauce. It's worth the drive. By this time we were stuffed. I'm not sure why I have waited five years to try this place. The worlds best banana pudding is right here! Excellent service! I got the baked potato loaded with pulled pork. It doesn't come with bbq sauce on it so you can pick from either their spicy or regular sauce. I couldn't eat but half of the potato. Large portions with appetizers, drinks, main course and dessert for two people for about $50. Price point is excellent. read more

I was in Liechtfield for the annual Twin Lakes National Fiddle Championship the next day. I saw on Yelp a highly rated BBQ place so I went there. It is very good! The owner, Patita, took my order. I had the brisket dinner with green beans, Cole slaw and cornbread. The brisket was very tender with good taste and smoke flavor. The Cole slaw was just the way I like it.... Not dry, and not finely chopped. The green beans had some pulled pork mixed in.... Tasted great. Everything was good, service, food, staff. Will be back again. I found out from the owner they will have their food truck at the fiddle contest tomorrow.... I'll believe I'll try the pulled pork. I used the spicy BBQ sauce, made in house. I travel to Leitchfield often for work. Periodically new restaurants pop up and are generally met with excitement from the folks in the area. I typically do not get as excited as those who call Leitchfield home lol. However, Bluegrass BBQ was an exception to that experience. It's a small outfit that appeared to me to be family owned. I wouldn't call it a "hole in the wall" as it has plenty of seating and a very nice atmosphere. But you can tell that it's smaller in scale and they take a lot of pride in the food and service. I mentioned that I got the recommendation from a coworker to check it out, and they were thrilled to hear it. I went with another coworker. I got the Turkey Ribs which I would 100% recommend. The platter came with 3 pretty sizeable ribs that were juicy and full of flavor. They were slightly sauced but not "drowning" in sauce which is something that I think lesser quality BBQ places do. Bluegrass lets the actual flavor of the meat speak for itself and provides bottles of sauce on the table for you to add as you prefer. A coworker got the Pulled Pork sandwich and thought it was quite good. In addition to our lunch we got free chocolate chip cookies and while they were on the small side they were very good. I'd recommend Bluegrass to anyone in the area and will let anyone on my team that also travels to the area know that's a must. read more

I stopped in while traveling down the western Kentucky parkway. I tried the sampler. It came with wings, ribs, two sliders, turkey ribs, and three sides. For the sides, I chose greens, coleslaw, and Deviled eggs. For the most part, the meats lacked seasoning and any hint of smoke flavor. They weren't horrible. They just needed a little salt and touch of sweetness. The wings and ribs were the better choice. The brisket was good too. Tender and not too fatty. But again lacking the seasoning and hint of smoke. The coleslaw was good. Has good balance of sweet and acid, but too much dressing. A little drier would have been perfect. The deviled eggs were a unique offering. You don't see them at many restaurants. These had rubbery whites with a bland filling. The greens were the best! Great flavor. Even better with the added side of vinegar. I'd give it another try if the kick up the seasoning and add some smoke! read more

My daughter and son-in-law live in Leitchfield and found this place by "accident", dropped in and loved it. They took us when we came up and we loved it as well. I got the sampler and couldn't begin to eAt it all in one sitting. Turkey ribs, pork ribs, chicken wings, 2 sliders (I got the pulled pOrk) and 3 sides. I really like Bluegrass. The food is delicious! It's a little pricy but it is good food. We use them for catering at work pretty often and they never disappoint. You can also get carry out and take it home and enjoy it with your family. I recommend trying Bluegrass. Neat atmosphere at the restaurant, too. read more
