Got the combo rib platter. Ribs were very dry, seemed rushed when cooked. Pulled pork was decent, cooked pretty well but also borderline dry. Brisket was average at best, and sliced small. The honey wings were out of place on the platter and really out of place for the restaurant as a whole. They did have good flavor though and were cooked perfectly. We had the best time having lunch at this location. The food is always incredible at Mark's, but it's the greet service that keeps us coming back. The restaurant was very clean and well decorated. We were seated by the window, which we loved. I usually get the chicken sliders, but I got the fish this time and I'm so glad I did! Wow it's incredible. It was so crispy. I do wish there was more lemon pepper seasoning, but overall it was very good. This was a trip of firsts for me as I tried the buttermilk crunch for the first time as well and it might be my favorite thing on the menu! I cannot wait to have another. I have a feeling they pre-cut them into racks and half racks, then keep them heated. My middle ribs were great, but the ones on each end were dry to the point they were inedible. The mac and cheese had a decent flavor but was really soupy. The "loaded" fries came with what appeared to be dried out bacon bits and a bit of melted cheddar cheese that was congealed by the time it made its way to us. They forgot the spicy seasoning but there's a shaker jar on the table, so you can as much or little as you like. While driving through Kentucky, my brother and I started looking for lunch places in Elizabethtown. We found Mark's Feed Store with high reviews and a very catchy name. We decided it was worth driving a few miles out of the way from I-65. When we arrive and I jump out of my truck, I can smell the BBQ in the air. When I go in, there is a board with pins for you to pin where you are from. More on that in a moment. Our server greeted us and grabbed our refreshing and very sweet tea. I ordered a #1 combo which comes with ribs, pulled pork, brisket, honey wings, and after some input from my server, mac and cheese and barnyard corn. All the meats were delicious but the honeywings really stood out. They were fried wings in some kind of honey conglomeration. The ribs are the baby back variety. The mac and cheese was creamy. The barnyard corn was like street corn. It was fried and topped with white sauce and Mark's seasonings. There are 4 sauces - a sweet, brown mustard base; a white Alabama sauce that you have to ask for and they charge extra for; a mild, tomato base; and a spicier, tomato base. They were all solid but the mustard and white sauces I enjoyed more. While I was eating, the manager came to speak with me and he noticed me putting a pin on the board. Since this was my first time visiting Mark's feed store, he gave me a free slice of buttermilk pie and a bottle of BBQ sauce. I thought I was special for a moment but it turns out they do that for all 1st-time guests. I thought that was cool and it took service up a notch.
