    Sat night Buffett plate

So we stopped here because of previous reviews and the menu options, of which they appear to have since changed, but we were very happy nonetheless. As a family of 6, traveling with grandparents and a great grandma, we are constantly looking for affordable, local places that have amazing food, can accommodate our size and don't break our budget. This restaurant excelled at all points. The special of the night, while you could still order off menu if you'd like, was a buffet, with salad bar, and dessert. It was worth every penny. You had the options of vegetable soup, white beans, or chili to start. Followed by veggie options of baked beans, great beans, corn, homemade mashed potatoes with brown gravy, fried apples, bbq chicken breast, and pulled pork. The salad bar was well stocked and you had your choice of cornbread and rolls, plus three choices of homemade bbq sauces. For dessert your choices were banana pudding, brownies, no-bake cookies, cookies, peanut butter pie, chocolate cheesecake, and carrot cake. Everything was homemade and amazing - someone in our group got one of each so we tried everything. They informed us on the way out that their Sunday buffet is from 11-3 and bigger and better than we just ate! She even offered to save our big crew a table if we called ahead! Super appreciative and highly recommend!

Thankful we stumbled across this place!! We walked in right as they were closing and they were kind enough to whip us up some food. Which was fantastic- and that's coming from 3 Texas BBQ snobs :) loved the food and the people! The owner is a great guy who takes care of and appreciates his staff. Will definitely go out of our way again to visit.

I strongly recommend it. Our server, Jaelyn, was very busy, since this appear to be a place where the locals hang out. She was very friendly, and attentive. A must come back or stop by when traveling. To add, they have a salad bar as a choice. The ambiance is enjoyable, with music in the background. Their sign is a real warning: "Notice, the food is made fresh for the day, and we do run out!" With the sample and food that I had, I believe it.

Food took about 15 minutes or so to be prepared, as expected. My wife ordered pulled pork, baked beans, and Mac & cheese (which they give you a generous and delicious portion of pulled pork but she said the baked beans tasted like she was eating a fire pit (they were so smokey-tasting) and the Mac & cheese was ok but nothing special). I ordered fried cheese sticks, a pulled chicken sandwich and fries (which all tasted good but nothing particularly stood-out. They do put a nice seasoning (presumably old bay seasoning or something similar) on the fries which I enjoyed) We both got the house bbq sauce but neither of us thought it was standout good. It wasn't bad though. Overall, the food and service was good so I'd say stop-in if you are hungry for bbq, but if you're a well-traveled bbq enthusiast you may want to temper your expectations.

It smelled great and the food we seen delivered to other tables also looked great. We got a sample platter with ribs and brisket. The ribs were over cooked and chewy and the brisket was a lot of fat. The sides were just ok. Maybe it was just an off day for them because I see a lot of great reviews. We stopped in later in the evening so that may be the reason the meats were off. Again, not thrilled with our meal here, but may give them another chance earlier in the day.

My son and I both wanted to try the brisket so he got the platter and I chose the sandwich. I was told they make most of the sides that aren't fried options such as tater tots, which I was happy about. They had the classic barbecue sauce on the table as well as a spicy option. Both were equally delicious. My sandwich came on Texas toast, which is a fave. The portions were a great value as they do not skimp! The fried potatoes are made in house and they were delicious. Even though they don't make the onion rings in house they were also quite good. My one disappointment was, they don't make the majority of their desserts. And the menu states that their daughter-in-law Kayle makes different desserts daily and they didn't have that. They were actually out of several desserts, which was disappointing. Since the only ones they had were not ones made in house I chose to not get one. Since we live 3 1/2 hours away I guess I'll have to give it another shot for the dessert option next time around. Overall, the place was terrific and the folks were friendly. They have a salad bar in the middle of the floor, which is a nice touch. They have a very laid-back atmosphere and it is definitely family friendly. And you definitely get good size portions for the money.

Easily as good, and likely better than the majority of restaurants in Kansas City. For a town this size the food is at the top of its game. The seasoned fries are served in neat old time, but decently sized paper fry pocket. The pear and blue cheese side salad was good although a little bitter. I did see things in there that are usually removed by Roundup but that's the trend nowadays. What makes this place special and rise above the usual BBQ? Well Bells two hearted is a good start. It's extra special when they seek out craft brews. It's spotless inside. The tables have warped tops so be careful when placing a full glass down. The food was up in minutes, the service is very friendly and the family vibe adds to the overall experience. Prices are a lot lower than I expected. It's truly a great value. The is easily the best place in town. We wished we could have tried other things but the portions are hearty and this may explain why they don't sell desserts. Lots of easy parking outside too.

The restaurant was somewhat empty when I arrived but it can definitely house a large group of people if needed. The ambiance is very causal and welcoming. The food came out quickly. I did enjoy my food, but the chicken was a bit dry and lacked something maybe some seasoning or needing something pickled. Regardless, I ate it all, the collard greens tasted good but way better in some vinegar. Overall, the experience was good and I enjoyed my food. I'm thankful I found something to eat in this town outside of fast or fried food. Maybe next time I'll try their ribs or wings, depending what it's fried in.
