We stopped in for lunch following our Wild Turkey Distillery Tour. Our group the specialty Sabor Wings, Fried green tomatoes, steak salad, Kentucky Hot brown and the soup of the day, potato. The Sabor wings were the most Perfectly cooked, crispy fried, great tasting bourbon, honey, Sabor sauce. Fried green tomatoes were good and the horseradish sauce with them amazing! The hot brown had plenty of gravy, crisp bacon and was also a hit at Our table. Our waitress April was amazing, we had a group of 7 and we had great service, plenty of refills and good timing on food delivery. This is defiantly a great local place! read more

I was delighted to come upon this little gem situated in downtown Lawrenceburg. The fried catfish was cooked to perfection and the grilled asparagus had a unique smoked flavor which I loved. I don't like to leave 1 star reviews but when it's avoidable then it's earned. Everything was bland, everything. Driving in surrounded by cattle I thought for sure go for a steak and ordered a porterhouse. It was the thinnest one I've ever seen. Not only that but it had no tenderloin side. When I say that I don't mean small I mean there was literally none, as if it had been cut off the bone. I was given a discount off my steak but even after that the value for the thin piece of meat I was given didn't really do it. The fact that someone put that on the grill and thought it was ok is crazy to me. The waitress was nice and addressed the issue but it shouldn't have happened. We salted most of our food to get some flavor as if no one is tasting anything there. If we had to be back because there's not really much else I'd probably get a burger just so I don't have to spend so much money for such poor quality control. read more

5 stars is an understatement... Wow, this place was awesome. We had a party of 6 and our waitress did an amazing job. Everyone's food was perfect and our drinks were always full. I had the sirloin steak, they cooked it perfectly and had just the right amount of seasoning. Only thing that I don't like, is that this place is 3 hours from home. read more

This place was great. I had the hot brown and my wife had the carne asada which we ended up sharing. Overall the food was good but the service was a little slow. Our waitress kept coming over saying our food should be done soon. This made us realize the wait even more. This is also the first time I've had carne asada come out on a fajita platter which ended up over cooking the meat and making it like leather within 15 minutes. I've ate here a few times. It wasn't good at the beginning (when they first opened) but since then... things have improved, and the food taste delicious! We arrived at an odd time, around 3 PM on a Saturday, so street parking was easy and there were only a handful of others dining. There was a woman shuffling papers at the hostess desk and told us it would be a minute, so we stood and waited until she eventually called out to one of the waiters to go get someone else to seat us. In the hospitality industry you should just do what you see needs to be done, no matter your station. We were taken to our table shortly thereafter and both noticed independently how uncomfortable the chairs were. From that point on though...it was a very pleasant experience! They brought out yeast rolls while we waited for our order, and they were delicious. There were many things on the menu that called my name, like the Kentucky hot brown, and we saw Bluegrass Sabor burgers being delivered to another table that almost sold a vegetarian! In the end, we ordered nachos and a quesadilla and both were very good, and service was attentive. We both decided on the bread pudding with caramel bourbon sauce and I don't think it could have been better. The portions were large and we could have split an order, but then we wouldn't have had 1/2 to take home to enjoy later! All in all, Bluegrass Sabor is a fine option for this small town, and shouldn't be overlooked. read more

Great little place in downtown Lawrenceburg. Living only 6 miles away you think we would have visited before now. Service was excellent and the menu had more than enough variety. I had the bourbon glazed pork chop with mashed potatoes and fried apples as the sides. Pork chop was a little bit over grilled but still tasty, mashed potatoes were creamy and warm and the fried apples were hot and delicious. My only reasoning for the four star review would have been the pork chop. All of the staff there was amazing and we hope to return soon. read more

Sitting at table after finishing our food for 10 mins looking around/ on our phone, obviously finished then a lady that was staring at us for 5 mins finally came to our table and collected our dishes. Our waitress that is in our eyesight and we are in her eyesight at the host stand just staring at the computer doing nothing for another 10 mins. I finally got up to ask her for our check because I was done waiting for her to notice us. She said she will get the check and walked away to take other tables orders or go to other tables. After she checked her other tables did she finally get us the check. There was multiple people that passed us during this timeframe that could've just asked if we needed anything or even see that my husbands cocktail drink was empty and get a new one or tell our waitress he needed a new one. It was not a busy night and I work in this industry, I feel like this is inexcusable. Also they charge you for not using cash. I didn't see a sign anywhere visible that stated if you used a card you would be charged an extra 2.00. I would come back if I had a craving for hospital food. read more

Had their pork chop and it was fantastic (as were the sides). Add to this the decor and atmosphere and it was overall a quality experience. Have come back a few times and have not been disappointed. Incredible! Their catfish is wonderful - mainly because of the crusty outside but it's very tasty and they have good tartar. I've been several times and neither I nor anyone i've gone with have been disappointed. I did get seated outside once and got forgotten...but...i learned my lesson not to sit outside. :) Great food. read more

We were on the bourbon tour and called ahead to ask if we could get in and out for lunch in 30 minutes. April said she could and took great care of us by having our table reserved and ready and taking our order right away. We had the Hot Brown (excellent) and pecan crusted catfish (delicious) among several entrees. The jalapeño poppers were great and the fried mushrooms were truly a treat. Highly recommend! read more

This was a wonderful restaurant. We were here with friends...all of whom had not eaten here. What a treat! The only reason for 1 star is no place to check zero star. Worst service ever experienced in my 70+ years. Party of 6 was seated at the farthest possible spot from the servers and kitchen. Ignored for several minutes; finally, we ordered 5 lunch specials and 1 BLT. Waited, waited and waited while we watch two tables of 4 people and one table of 2 people come in after us and get served their lunches while we remained unfed. When finally served, my fish sandwich on white bread was not worth the $10 price tag. Waited and waited some more for the checks to arrive and, when the finally did, the server did not have a pen for us to sign our credit card charges. They will probably recognize me as the guy who left a tip of $0.00. The again, maybe not; that probably happens often. read more

We waited 45 minutes to receive a hot brown and pork chop. The restaurant was half full. The baked potato was still hard and he pork chop over cooked to the point of being dry, it was supposed to have been a bourbon glaze but was actually 99% teriyaki sauce. Great food, reasonably priced, service could be better. I think a 3 star rating is too low but it doesn't deserve a 4 star rating because of the service. We have been there at odd hours where there might be one or two other customers and still have trouble getting waited on. We have also been there with a packed crowd and had the same problem. It can take forever (not everytime we've been, just most times) to be seated, waited on, and for the food to arrive. Once the food does arrive, it is great! The fried pickles are my favorite because they are the spears instead of the chips. They also have an amazing hot brown! Their quesadillas are good as well which was a surprise to me. The price for the amount and quality of food you are getting is well worth it. I'm glad that Lawrenceburg has a restaurant like this. I love the way they decorated the place and the booths are nice and comfy! We have been there several times in the past year and plan to continue to go back. We showed up here the night before Valentines without a reservation. The host/maitre d was super nice and we had a table within 15 minutes. It is limited seating and they highly recommend reservations. The menu is American with a Hispanic flair. We didn't have the Valentine's special but chose to eat off menu. My husband had the pork chop which is a large bone in chop with a bourbon sauce. It was Excellent and yes I tried a bite. They were out of prime rib do I tried the Ribeye which was cooked perfectly for me and very tender. The vegetables we had were homemade and very tasty. My 12 year old son, who only eats chicken fingers, said his were very good. We finished with fried ice cream which was also excellent. The only negative thing that really wasn't that bad was our waitress had no personality. She did a good job serving us though and we received our food quickly despite how busy. Comfortable, casual ambience. Very good prices. Our server seemed eager to please and did't rush us as we studied the menu. He ordered the prime rib and I got the rib eye and we both ordered the baked potato and green beans sides. The flavor the rib eye was quite good, perfect medium rare, enhanced perhaps by some sort of steak sauce on top, but quite a bit of gristle and fat. I'm someone who loves to eat the fat on steaks but there was more than I could eat. BUT, having said all this, it was so large that I had plenty to eat of the good stuff. He did not eat more than half his prime rib as he found it too gristly. BUT he also told them to cook it medium well - big mistake. They cooked it according to his wishes and of course, medium well on prime rib WILL cause it to be tougher so.... We do agree that the quality of the meal and the pricing were well aligned and the meal a good value. read more

When my husband and I walked into Bluegrass Sabor tonight, we weren't greeted by anyone. There were three or four servers at the front desk that would glance our way, but no one acknowledged our existence until after almost five minutes. (No joke.) Apparently, they had a large group coming in tonight. (Not our fault...) Finally, one lady said they had a large party and didn't have room for us inside but then said if we wanted to, we could sit outside. My husband and I agreed and we got seated. Unfortunately, we got seated without any silverware and it took our server almost 10 minutes to come get our drink order. By that time, we knew what we wanted...so we ordered an appetizer (fried pickle spears) along with our drinks and entrees. I ordered a rib-eye steak, medium rare with steamed broccoli and he ordered the pecan crusted chicken with mac'n'cheese and mashed potatoes. I also asked for silverware because we didn't have any (and maybe it would be a good idea to use silverware when the food comes out...) It took another 10 minutes for the drinks to come out, which were wrong. The server brought us bread in a basket, but we still didn't have silverware, let alone plates. I asked the server for silverware again. My husband got frustrated enough to go inside and ask someone else for silverware. The lady he asked, wasn't our server, but she came outside promptly with the eating utensils. Our server came back with the the correct drinks and plates for the bread - but again, no silverware. She ran back inside, another 5 minutes later she comes back and has two sets of silverware and was shocked that we already had it. (We had silverware when she left the table the time before!) Then she comes out with an appetizer, which was wrong. She put down a plate of potato skins and I gave her the look like she was crazy because I didn't order them. She apologized and said, "I'm sorry, what did you order for your appetizer?" So, I reminded her that we ordered fried pickles. 20 minutes later, the pickles arrive at our table. We tried to eat the fried pickles, but they didn't taste normal. Two bites into a pickle and our entrees arrive at the table (which another server dropped off.) The puzzling part to me, no one waited to see if the steak was as I ordered it. Our server came out a minute or so after the other guy left from dropping the plates off and said, "Is everything good?" We didn't even have time to try the food yet! Then she had a puzzled look on her face when she saw my husband's mac'n'cheese and said, "That looks different. Is it good?" He looked at her and almost wanted to hand her the miniature bowl of "mac'n'cheese" and say, I don't know, you try it...but I'm glad he didn't. She left the table, then I cut into my steak, it was beyond well done. My husband went to take a bite of his mac'n'cheese and it looked like SOUP! It shouldn't look like soup...it should be cheese and pasta. Almost as if the cheese and pasta were boiled in water together. After about 15 minutes of watching my husband eat while I wait for our server to come outside, I got frustrated and went in to find someone to talk to. She saw me enter the front door and I told her that my steak was cooked incorrectly. She came outside, I showed her the plate and she had me put it on my bread plate and she said she would have the chef make a new one, this time the correct way I wanted it. Another 15 minutes, the steak new steak comes out. By this time, my husband is done eating. The server put the steak down and left. Again, she didn't wait to confirm that the steak was properly cooked. This time, I cut into the steak and see it's so rare I thought the cow was still mooing. 10 more minutes go by and I see another server come outside. I stopped her and told her my steak was wrong, yet again. I had eaten the broccoli that came with the steak. By this time, I had had enough of the waiting around for someone to come help. Our original server comes back to the table and said that she apologizes for the mishap and then told us that the chef had only gotten two steaks cooked correctly the entire night!!! (We got there around 6:45pm.) My thought was how many steaks is the kitchen screwing up??? What a waste of my time, their time and money on both parties! I told the server that I didn't even want the steak anymore. Why get something cooked three times while your husband sits and waits for you to eat? We probably would have been there another 30-45 minutes waiting! Service - We felt like we were the inconvenience. Let alone, we had to wait FOREVER to get anything we needed. Our server wasn't very pleasant and didn't listen or follow through. Food - Beyond poor! If I could give negative stars for this establishment, I would. Trust me. I am thoroughly disappointed. Soupy mac'n'cheese; two steaks cooked incorrectly and ruined. Value - Don't waste your money. This place isn't worth it. read more
