As of right now, I am still not comfortable eating inside a restaurant l, so finding this place to sit outside with a beautiful view, great food, great service, and other friendly guests was greatly appreciated. The view of the water and all the boats made it quite nice. We sat beside a diy water spout that water came from. We ordered the Woody and the bacon cheeseburger and had the Marina Sunset cocktails. The fries were seasoned really good. We forgot to take a photo of our burgers but they were delish and looked exactly like the other photos. We will definitely be back. read more

So we looked at the reviews ...and maybe something has changed in the last year because most of the reviews are at least a year old. Like most other people we had toured Buffalo Trace Distillery and were looking for a place to eat. As usual we'd like to try things that are a little out of the way and not a restaurant chain. This place sounded perfect. So we drove out of the way - up and down and around curves and finally got to the dock. It looks rundown, but we still thought we would give it a try because looks can be deceiving. Our server was a very nice lady and the prices on the menu were excellent. There were four of us and we all decided to get the fish meal. Some got french fries - some got onion rings with their fish. Since we were right on the water, we figured that our catfish would be fresh. We were wrong! From our seat, we could see them get frozen french fries out of the freezer and put them in the fryer. Then they reached into the freezer and grabbed four pieces of Frozen fish planks and put them in the fryer. Our hopes are fading fast at this point! They do not serve coleslaw - maybe because it doesn't come frozen. The food just was not good at all! ****Our goal in life is not to put someone out of business by leaving a mean review!! But this is an honest review and we want to give people a heads up before they drive out of their way to go here.***** The only thing we can think of is, maybe they are still open because they make their money at night with the karaoke crowd drinking alcohol? We left Buffalo Trace distillery looking for a delicious burger. Benson's was perfect. They made mine with Swiss, onions and bacon. Glorious! The other one had jalapeño, onion and mushrooms. Not a bite left. Nice and warm sitting by the river. Great service. Super nice people read more

Stopped in for casual dinner on a Friday night. Plenty of seating with patio tables and umbrellas as well as awning covering. Everyone raves about their burgers but we tried the fish sandwich and chicken sandwich as recommended by our server. Vast beer selection. Our server was top notch. Everything was reasonably priced. Came here during a recent trip down the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and the crew was jonesing for a good ol' sloppy burger to help sop up some of the brown elixir we'd been consuming. Everyone orders burgers, some ordered tots and some ordered onion rings and we sat back to wait for the magic to happen. These were some near perfectly flattop char-grilled burgers, mine with grilled onions, pickle chips and American cheese...my wife's was a standard bacon cheeseburger. You have to be looking for this place when in Frankfort, Kentucky on the Kentucky River. No seeing it from the main road, but worth the trip. Outdoor seating and dog friendly. We had the cheese burger, double cheeseburger, seasoned fries and houseboat salad. Service was excellent and the food very good. Fries were seasoned perfectly and the burgers were great. We will be trying the fish the next trip. Really enjoyed sitting on the water around the boats docked at the marina. read more

Got to stop by on a beautiful fall November day right before they closed for the season. Glad I got a chance to stop by. We came for the burgers. I tried the cheeseburger and the rest of the family went with the specialty burgers. If I have a recommendation, it would be to season the meat just a little more. They're good, but it seems like the rest of the sandwich has to try harder to lift up that semi-bland ground beef. It comes close to pulling it off, as they're so messy my son had to eat his burger standing up. And I mean that in a good way. They add on the extras. But man, just season that meat a tad more and you are going to be epic. I'd recommend the fries and mozzarella sticks. Both came out hot and ready. The service is pretty good also. Very nice people. Great place to sit out and eat on a nice day. I'd definitely go back. I just want them to tweak those seasonings a little on that beef and this could be a destination. read more

We were looking for a lunch spot after touring Buffalo Trace, and this popped up on Yelp. It's small, very casual. My Reuben was pretty good and my bf enjoyed his double decker cheeseburger. The service was fast and friendly and it was nice to sit out on the dock. It would have been more scenic if that water didn't look so murky. I have four stars because of the service. Found this place on yelp and saw all the reviews. We stopped on a Thursday evening for dinner. Wanted a little ambiance and thought sitting on the river would be the ticket. It was karaoke night and loud and rambunctious which is ok if that's why you were going. The food was just ok. My burger was way overcooked and you have to order sides separately. We ordered the loaded tots and my husbands came out but mine never did. Had to constantly flag our girl down to order another beer and inquire on my missing tots. Service was substandard along with the food I'm sorry to say. Such a cool place an outdoor marina in the state Capital. Only found this place by word of mouth. You have to kind of walk down a bluff and across a gangplank to get over but it's worth it. Nothing fancy but really good hamburgers and ice cold beer in a marina on the river (codeword/outdoors) setting. I'll certainly be back. read more

Food was ok and the waitress was sweet, but the flies were horrible. I was scared to open my mouth to eat thinking one would fly in. There's no fountain drinks, you just have to buy by the can. I don't recommend taking kids, as there's no high chairs at all, and the railings are very easy to fall through. Definitely not family friendly. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff! I had a cheeseburger, fries, and beer. The cheeseburger was awesome! The fries were just ok and the beer was cold. It is a very laid back atmosphere which I prefer. This was in early afternoon on a weekday and there was a child and also a dog there, very sweet. This is an outdoor place so be prepared for whatever weather is going on. If you like marinas this is a good spot to go when you are in Frankfort in the summer. Had the tenderloin and fries with a mt dew and it was only $10.50 so it's a good food price and the atmosphere is nice. I liked it and will definitively come back in the future when I get a chance to. read more

This place is Frankfort's best kept secret. I love going down here and getting quality homemade food. My favorite non menu item is the beer cheese cheese burger. Served with fresh veggies and fries. They have every drink you can imagine including cold beer if you just want to sit on the dock by the peaceful river shore. During the summer they have karaoke on certain nights that can get wild at times so if you're not into that kind of thing check their Facebook or call ahead. WOW, have a burger! We stayed in Frankfort for a couple nights on the way to Asheville from Chicago. After driving most of the day, we wanted to eat somewhere super casual, outside and preferably on the water. Well the dock checked all the boxes. Its literally a multi slip boat dock with basically an open air kitchen, the gal(s) were super friendly and suggested a burger... so we each ordered one, mine was the (forgot the name) top one on the menu, and she ordered the mushroom swiss burger and we shared an order of fry's. WOW we couldn't put them down, easily the best burger we've had in a long time. A beautiful day topped off with a fantastic burger! Great job girls! read more
