I love this place! This was the first place I ever had a wax and the only place I go to. The Brazilian is the only wax I've ever had and they made it as painless as possible. I started off with one Esthetician and I recently tried AJ due to needing a same day within the hour appoinment. AJ is AWESOME! She is now my go to Esthetician. She took her time and made sure my hairs were ALL gone. She uses small strips to minimize the pain. AJ is very particular and makes sure you're pleased with the end result. Love her work!!! I would MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND AJ for ANYONE that DOESN'T LIKE PAIN! Their prices match the QUALITY OF WORK. My wax is $55 plus whatever tip I leave, which apparently is what most places charge with lower quality results. read more

This spa in this place is awesome! The associates are professional and quite friendly. AJ is a doll! She takes her time and makes sure you are comfortable and pleased with the services you ask for. I've seen Tessa a few times for a (unfortunately needed) bikini wax. And I've always enjoyed my experience with her. Or at least as much as I could. Saw her recently for a facial. I wasn't really in 'need' of a facial, but it's been several years since I've had one so I knew there would be some extraction work to be done. Tessa was great - I think I may have even dozed on the table for a bit. My face was a little pink & dewy when I left, but it was worth it to take the time for myself. Having been into Bluemercury at a more regular cadence lately I've come to appreciate the staff. While I was living in Jacksonville, I got my Brazilians done with Tessa at Blue Mercury at the Town Center. I've been getting Brazilians for years, in lots of cities, and Tessa is the best. Always professional, her work is METICULOUS, and the most painless waxing I have ever had. She keeps several types of wax, and chooses the most appropriate one for the waxing site. In the case of the Brazilian wax, she uses a dark blue wax that doesn't stick to skin. I have very white, sensitive skin, and when Tessa is done I'm never even red or puffy. At all. Her Brazilian job does take a little longer (maybe 30-45minutes), but thats because she makes sure to get every single little hair. And, as I stated previously, IT DOESN'T EVEN HURT. Best Brazilian wax ever. I live in NYC now, and have been to several places and had some decent waxes (J Sisters, Bliss, and a few others), but none compares to Tessa's work. My Brazilian Wax experience with Tessa in the summer of 2010 were wonderful!! My first Brazilian wax experience was at a spa in NY, it was painful! So the second time around, I made sure I do my research. I just happened to be near Jacksonville for vacation, after reading Megan F.'s comment, I went for it. I basically looked for 2 things with a Brazilian Wax, first off, it has to be as painless as possible, secondly, the waxing needs to be thorough. Tessa did an outstanding job on both. She used hard wax, and were fast with her action, it hurts a little, just a little at that 0.5 second, but when I walked out of the spa, I was like a new woman, no pain what so ever. Tessa were really thorough with the waxing, got to every inch of skin, even for hard to get areas. Being a second-timer, I was nervous when she was waxing more private areas, but she was so professional that I became really comfortable very soon. The wax came to around $60, I believe. I tipped way extra because it was great service that she had provided. 3 months later, Tessa sent me some Revive samples!! She's such a sweet girl! read more

Honestly, this store is a little to pricey for my blood. They have lots of great products and such, but I could never allow myself to spend $300 on a bottle of perfume. But if you can, this might be the place for you. However, my reason for going there is for waxing. And I feel it is never a good idea to skim on having hot wax placed on your delicate lady parts. Call me crazy... The spa prices are reasonable, I believe. And Tessa is the best. I have been going to her for almost a year now. She's friendly and professional. I had my first brazilian wax with Tessa and it was as painless as possible. Which was not totally painless. I took two ibuprofen, Lortab, and rubbed 2.5 topical lidocaine and it still smarts in some spots. I think a lot of it has to do with your level of pain tolerance and psyching yourself out. I just don't want people to how much it hurts or not on Tessa. She is great! She makes you as comfortable as possible and gets the job done with a professionalism and pleasing manner. I got waxed to get ready for the delivery of my first baby. I would rather have someone who gets rave reviews do it than some nurse doing it dry with a razor. Lol If you know about being pregnancy you know that sometimes you get screaming monsters growing out of your butt called hemorrhoids and I have some that resemble Steven King's "Dreamcatcher shit weasel" and I was needless to say embarrassed to have to just whip it all out for Tessa to see but she was great. Didn't even let me feel a moment of embarrassment. She did a great job putting me at ease. The store is a bit hard to find in the shopping center. The addresses are confused. My esthetician called me and asked if she could give me a complimentary mini facial after my experience from last time when the oxygen machine was not working . I appreciate this so much! It makes such a difference to know that a business cares this much to not only apologize but offer to make it better. Going in today was wonderful. My skin had a hard week after dealing with dryness and redness. This mini facial was the perfect thing to make my skin feel rejuvenated. I get Brazilian waxes done on somewhat of a regular basis, and have done them at several different locations, so am somewhat of an expert. They did a great job here. The hubby and I were staying near the St. John's Town Center for a couple of days to celebrate our 27th anniversary. We each had our morning planned-he was headed to the Apple store and I was going to Blue Mercury, then we'd meet up for lunch and afternoon shopping together. Hey, after 27 years you learn how to compromise! I needed a new foundation and bravely went in bare-faced so I could be matched with ease. Sara M. was the makeup artist who helped me. She selected the perfect foundation and applied it as well as blush, eyeshadow and mascara so I would look lovely for my anniversary. I've been to plenty of high end counters where they are either uninterested in helping you or very pushy with skincare or other products. Sara did neither-she let her knowledge and skill speak for itself. Throughout the makeup application process she chatted away, giving me tips and techniques to help me at home. Her eye for flattering colors is unerring. When she was finished, I liked the look so much I bought everything she used! There are some niche perfumes in the store as well, and when I mentioned my love of fragrances she shared her favorites with me. I got a small bottle of Laura Mercier's Amber Vanille, which is the warm, spicy scent I've been searching for. And a warning-the Nest candle in Moroccan Amber will be hard to pass up as well! In all, Sara made my visit a totally enjoyable and educational experience. I will definitely be back! read more

i never leave reviews but this time I just had to! I went to Blue Mercury for a wax yesterday and I have to admit I was terrified when I went in but after meeting Tessa, everything was fine. This was my first Brazilian wax and it really did not hurt at all. Seriously, getting my eyebrows waxed for the first time hurt more than this. She uses an awesome wax that doesn't stick to your skin and Tessa is great. She will talk to you to get your mind off of things, which really helps because it is uncomfortable to have another person so close to your lad bits. Don't get me wrong, there is some pain in some sensitive areas but nothing like you would expect. I did not flinch or shed a tear. Tessa is AWESOME! I came here on a sunday for a bikini wax because my normal place is closed on sundays and I was leaving for vacation the following day. The wax went fast and was fairly painless which I loved but the tech was so pushy about me getting a facial "because it has been so slow today with customers." I politely declined but I kid you not I was asked at least 10 more times during the duration of the wax and a few more before I could make it out of the door. I actually went to Tessa at Blue Mercury after reading the previous poster's review of her Brazilians. I just moved to Jacksonville and it is so hard to find a good wax! Tessa is very good, very professional, and does an excellent job at both making you comfortable and doing her work. She's very knowledgable and she's a trained esthetician, so if you ask her for tips and pointers, she can help you make sure your skin looks its best by recommending treatments and products (without pushing anything on you). The only downside is the amount of time it takes to get something done...the first time she does your Brazilian, she will admit to you that it will take her longer because she wants to get to know you and really do a thorough job so the rest is just "maintenance", but in truth, she takes a while regardless of how many times she's seen you before. She will definitely chat with you, which can distract her and make her work slowly (her own admission), so don't make an appointment if you don't have time! I will also recommend her eyebrow waxing...it's very expensive for eyebrows, but she does SUCH a good job that it's completely worth it. I highly recommend Tessa :) read more

So we all know how fabulous Bluemercury is to begin with- great products, etc. My review is for the people working at this particular Bluemercury- specifically Sue and Iris. I was on a business trip to Jacksonville and United airlines decided my suitcase didn't deserve the trip to Fla. in fact, my suitcase deserved a trip to Chicago O'hare. I was left stranded with nothing but the lipbalm in carry-on ziploc bag. I was informed by the amazingly useless United call center offshore staff that i could go out and "spend the minimum" (whose minimum i ask!?) on interim toiletries and clothing items. I was then told they would only approve $100. so on a business trip with executives, with no resolution and arrival time for my suitcase, im to find a suit and all of my toiletries, hair tools, pj's, medication, glasses, etc. etc. etc. for $100. that may be possible on Mars. I know it sounds like princess problems, but that really was not the case. all of that information was to tell you how sad, irritated, frustrated, etc. i was. I got myself to bluemercury and was given run of the store (obviously i was purchasing some items as well) by SUE. Sue told me if i knew my colors already, then to please, by all means, go ahead- here's the sanitizer, here's the brushes, everything you need. Like my fairy godmother. Sue helped me blend too. just sayin. Really nice person, really accommodating, really helpful. 2 emphatic thumbs up for Sue. Iris was also there, and she was super helpful and understanding and kind to me. Bluemercury, you have a great staff in Jacksonville. read more

To start on a positive note, I loved the decor of this beauty boutique. Open, clean, crisp, and in general quite lovely. The products they carry are my favorite. Never before have I been able to find everything I need/wanted in just one place. Best yet, it was all my favorite products from great brands such as Fresh, Bliss, Bumble and Bumble, Nars, Kiehls, and Bobbi Brown. For once I could get everything in just one place and not have to go from Nordstrom to Saks hopping they had the item in which I needed. FABULOUS! =) This place was a little difficult to find but a decent location none the less. The only drawback was the service. I had a couple questions I wanted to ask the SA but she wasn't the friendliest. Everyone has not so great days though right?! I am addicted to shopping online from this store. I went to Blue Mercury for a Brazilian Wax. It was a first for me. The salon is very clean and the decor and atmosphere is nice and comfortable. I had not been waxed before and was quite anxious about the process. My service was performed by Iris and she was wonderful. She made me comfortable and was quick and efficient. I did not experience the pain that I read about on other sites and the results were fantastic. I went to my appointment feeling dread and left feeling invigorated. I am so happy with my experience and I made a future appointment. The only reason I did not give Iris 5 stars is because this was my first Brazilian Wax: therefore, I do not have a standard for a comparison. I am definitely returning to Iris.
