Overall , a good experience but there are things that I would've liked to be different. The overall vibe seems a bit commercial, even though there are marocan elements scattered throughout. I would've liked a bit more of an authentic marocan vibe. Got there at 10.03 am and the paperwork took about 10-12 Minutes. Then locker room for changing another maybe 10 minutes. We started at 10:30 am with what was supposed to be an hour massage . Only got a 45 minutes massage. The therapist was great but asked way too many questions. The room was on cold and had a fan blowing as well. After the massage , we went straight to scrub/ sauna area. Different therapist. She was very nice and did her best to make us feel comfortable. The first room was a wet room with 2 stone "beds" . Even though they used warm water at times , the room was cold and it made the whole experience a bit unpleasant . The sauna part was probably the best one. After the scrub/sauna part was over we got 20 minutes in the tea room. We were served fruits, 3 rally small but delicious cookies and watered down mint tea. The cookies were really great but maybe they should serve a few extra ones. They also had some mini size American chocolates. It's a nice touch but maybe some marocan candy would work better. The last step was a 90 min anti aging facial. The tech was good but nothing to be blown away by. As far as the cost, we paid $900 for 2 people, plus $240 tip for the therapists. The place was scattered with signs that suggested leaving a generous tip. Even the bathrooms had at least 2 signs. It felt a bit exaggerated and as I stated on the beginning, commercial. I don't mind spending the money for an authentic experience and unfortunately this place didn't hit the mark. They sell a specific line of cosmetics and we got suggestions of what to buy from the therapists. Again, the amount of signs and pamphlets suggesting a purchase, was again a bit much. It was an ok experience but unfortunately I would not go back. I will keep searching for a place that offers a more authentic experience.

My hairstylist was Rita who said that my hair type is best cut with dry hair. I have never had that in the past, but I trusted her experience. However, I was very disappointed that she cut my hair so quickly and then didn't ask me if I liked it, I felt like she was pushing me out the door. I have long hair and asked for many layers, lots of layers that are visible and she did not give me that. I had her add more in and asked her to fix a few things 5/6 times, which she did, but with the attitude that I was bothering her. Her cuts are $75 dollars and that's an unfair price for the experience I got. My next complaint is partly due to the coronavirus but it still left a negative taste in my mouth. I called on Friday for an appointment and was told the salon was finally able to use the blow dryers, but to schedule early in the day because they sometimes ran out of sanitized brushes near the end of the day. I came in for my Saturday appointment and Rita told me that was not the case, no blowdrys. I told her that the receptionist told me differently, and her only response was "oh she knows". Therefore my hair looked extremely sad due to the lack of wash/blow dry and products. Overall, I felt very unwelcomed at this salon. I don't like my hair at all and I don't recommend Rita as a stylist.

I was scheduled with Ashley Boxx, told her how many units I had been getting (up until 3 months prior) and was happy with the outcome. She insisted I needed nearly 3 times the amount, repeatedly. I compromised by nearly doubling the amount hoping she was right and thinking if nothing else it should look even better. I don't know if it was administered incorrectly or intentionally diluted to prove I needed more, but no evidence of receiving the Botox ever took place. I didn't know that was even possible. I feel like the response will be that I grew tolerance, but there's no way I got the same amount (increased a couple of units a couple times over years), then suddenly it does nothing out of the blue. So much money wasted and now I'm so hesitant to try any new offices. I also made it clear in appt that I just wanted injectables, but was pushed various "treatments" and shown before/afters having to awkwardly decline everything else, which I already said I wasn't interested in. I know that goes with the territory of these places, but it was a bit much. Lastly-- when I called I was quoted $13/unit, only to find out in person it's $16/unit.

But for now, I'm happy coming here every few months for things like skin care, sun damage repair, advice (that's a big one) etc. Living in Florida, you Need a good skin care plan & regimen to keep the sun damage away. With skin cancer running in my family, I try to stay ahead of the matter as much as I can. A few years back I did a series of IPL laser treatments that really helped reverse some of the sun damage I did in my teens & early 20's by laying out on the beach entirely too much. Contoura's also helped me with embarrassing things like hormonal adult acne. I never thought I'd have to go through a mild phase of my teenage years all over again in my thirties but, there I was a year ago, trying everything under the sun on my own to get rid of it and nothing was working. I booked an appointment at Contoura to express my concern and the remedy was way easier than I expected. Tretinoin. That cleared everything up real quick plus helps with fine lines &/or wrinkles. A two for one? I'm in! (If there are any women out there reading this wondering why you are breaking out when choosing to discontinue birth control, try tretinoin. This should help the issue in less than a week's time) Ok now that I've way overshared in this review, I need to give a huge thankful shout out to Becky! Over the past couple of years, I've booked appointments with Becky at Contoura and her advice and company while visiting Contoura is always a real pleasure. When customers are spending good money in your store, basic respect and clear communication should be expected. This is unacceptable, and I will be contacting corporate about this experience. No customer should be treated this way, especially while spending so much money at your store. Management seriously needs to address both customer service and the lack of clear direction at checkout.
