On February 15, 2026, I was informed that I would be receiving both a paw print and a nose print of my dog as part of the arrangements made following the cremation services I paid for. My dog was not simply a pet -- he was a beloved member of my family for over 10 years and an important part of my daughter's childhood. However, when I arrived on February 24, 2026, to pick up his ashes, I was informed that the paw and nose prints had been lost. I was further told by the front desk employee that the prints were merely a "courtesy" and not included in the cremation cost. While I understand policies may vary, the issue is not whether the prints were included in the price. The issue is that I was explicitly told they would be provided. I was given the expectation that something meaningful and irreplaceable would be preserved -- and that commitment was not honored. If this was truly a courtesy, it should not have been presented to me as a promised memorial item. Informing a grieving family that something special will be done, only to later admit it was lost, adds unnecessary pain to an already heartbreaking situation. There is no opportunity now to recreate those prints. That moment has passed forever. During one of the most vulnerable experiences a family can endure, compassion and care matter deeply. It took me a while to write about my experience at Blue Pearl, where we took our dog on October 4th 2021 We wanted them to do everything possible to help him. The findings revealed that he must have ingested something. He was diagnosed with GMB (Gallbladder Mucocele) and required cholecystectomy surgery. During the procedure, the vets discovered that his kidneys were failing, and essentially, his organs were in decline. He spent roughly three days in the ICU. Ultimately, we decided to take him home so that a vet could come to our house and perform his euthanasia in a comfortable environment. The veterinarian at Blue Pearl wasn't supportive of our decision and suggested that we euthanize him there, claiming it was the more humane choice. However, I disagreed because I knew my dog would rather be at home with his family. On Thursday morning, when I called Blue Pearl to arrange his pick-up, I was surprised to find that only a technician was available to hand us our dog--no veterinarian was present to offer their condolences. My husband and I were in tears, fully aware that we had very little time left with our beloved pet. As we left, it felt like their main concern was about the payment, which totaled roughly $9,000. I am deeply disappointed; our hearts are shattered, and Blue Pearl showed no empathy at all. Shame on them! I urge others to seek out a more reputable veterinarian for their pets. I've been there a handful of times. The staff is always great. The problem is: there isn't nearly enough of them. This place is severely understaffed. Ownership knows this, if you're going to Blue Pearl, its a weekend or you are desperate, so you'll pay their understandably higher prices and will be willing to wait at least 2 hours to see someone even if there is very little visible going on. To be clear, any staff I've dealt with here is top notch. And next emergency I have, I'll visit. I just wish they'd hire someone. read more

If you have the option, do not choose Blue Pearl. It is evident that they only care about money. If you are having an emergency, go to VEG down the street. They were much more effective in a shorter amount of time than BP. At VEG, they were empathetic and very helpful. Blue Pearl wasted our time and money. Vet on staff did not accurately review my dog's previous medical records and suggested multiple times medications that he had a few hours prior with his primary vet, which would not have been appropriate to give my dog again same night. This is an update to my previous review - No other facility (not even our primary veterinarian) would repair the ruptured sutures so we had no choice but to return to blue Pearl. A surgery tech called us before we reached out to convey this information (she was following up) - and was appalled to hear how Danielle handled the situation - even more appalled to hear that she told us we would be charged and readmitted through the ER. She instructed us to come in and ask for her, which we did and we were very pleased. Surgical team, 5 stars - blue Pearl admin team ZERO stars. A month later and we take our pet in to have his sutures removed, which we were not charged for (as no one should be). The service provided by the surgical team and technicians was *great*, however I see that blue pearl responded to my review it stating "thank you for speaking with our leadership team", let's be clear nobody from their "leadership team" has reached out to me or my spouse. Hopefully there was a teachable moment here, maybe Danielle was just having a bad day...who knows. No one ever reached out to us though. read more

My Booster and I drove all the way up from Lawton, OK. It was after hours and and Neel's was recommended to us. When we arrived at Neel's we were told that my pup had to be referred to BluePearl, Tulsa, or Dallas because they did not have the surgeons or capabilities to perform surgery for IVDD - and fortunately BluePearl had an opening at 2AM with an open surgery slot at 8AM. I've had people tell me to not go to BluePearl because it's too expensive, but I will tell you that they were the most caring, attentive, and compassionate doctors and technicians I could ever ask for - that is priceless. I had to euthanize my Booster because his condition wasn't what we thought it was at previous vet clinics, but an inoperable tumor that was causing him excruciating pain. They have the equipment and medication that help maintain his pain levels that other clinics did not have that allowed me to lay with him in his final hours. Dr. Emily was patient with me and comforted me and my Booster in his final moments. She rubbed his paws, stared and talked to him, and shared comforting words and stories to me. Her compassion and empathy will be forever part of my memories. The technicians were so kind and supportive. I left BluePearl wishing this hospital was closer to me. Your pets will be taken care of in an impressive facility, 24 hour care, they weren't annoyed when I kept calling back on his status before planned surgery, offered text messages for photos if I wanted, and overall had the best empathy I could ask for. Please consider having pet insurance. In moments like this where emotions are high, you are willing to do anything financially for your furbabies. I didn't care how expensive his surgery would've been because I knew I would've been reimbursed for most of it. Have a credit card specifically for pet emergencies and nothing else. Get HealthyPaws insurance or Trupanion as early as you can because pre-existing conditions will not be covered in the future. That is my advice to everyone that are pet owners. My Booster boy would be here today after his surgery if it were IVDD, but God had other plans. Thank you BluePearl Team - you were everything I could ever ask for and more. My review is the same as the other one-star reviewers! I had the same NIGHTMARE of an experience at Blue Pearl on Memorial Dr.! My brother and I took his cat here this week because the cat was diabetic and very sick. I have been to BP many times at their old location and had excellent care for my cats. OMG, not now!!!!! I'm not going to go into all the details because it's too painful, but aside from the front desk receptionist and the first assistant to greet us, they were rude and horrible. They took our cat, and then made us wait for several hours before they even came to talk to us!!! In the end, they told us that they had done tests but he was too sick for them to do anything for him unless we left him there for "two to three days" at a cost of over $6,000 times over $8,000!!! The vet acted disgusted that our cat had hidden for two days so wasn't receiving his insulin (which we described as the problem in the first place), and then acted like our only alternative was to euthanize him. (She was very dismissive and rude, and acted as if giving us an estimate was a waste of her time.) They admitted that they hadn't done anything at all to alleviate his suffering in the 3 or 4 hours we'd been waiting helplessly in the waiting room!!!!!!!! Yes, they "put him to sleep" (killed him) and did allow us to say goodbye to Cruiser. Bill was $505. They should have paid us for putting up with them. read more

Had to take our cat her on New Year's Eve due to a suspected UTI. I'm not sure what all of the negative reviews are about as that wasn't our experience at all. This was our 2nd time to come to Blue Pearl and it was a good one. The receptionist greeted us and was very friendly. All of the staff we interacted with were great as well! We were led to a room to wait in and were provided with updates when they could get them to us. I don't like having to go to a pet hospital, but I'm grateful they're there when needed. read more

The dr talked to us as we were stupid uneducated people(myself and my husband are both in human medicine) If you're going to call yourself and emergency room then you need to have drs that cares and has compassion for their patients!!! Took my dog in for a mass on her shoulder. Sent it to a pathologist ($170), even though the doctor on call said it probably could have been done in-house, she just wanted the expert opinion. Thanks for that extra charge without my consent. They don't have any answers outside of the assumption that it's a severe reaction to her vaccines done a week or so ago. ($330) for that, and some anti inflammatory medication. Arrived around 8:30pm, received a call from the doc after waiting until 10:40, and then didn't receive the test results until midnight- I had to call, because the doctor made a point to say her shift ended at midnight. On a weeknight. They were busy, we were understanding. Here's the great part! They give us Carprofen. In case you didn't know, like WE WEREN'T TOLD(?!?!), dogs find this medication to be particularly tasty, and will COMMONLY eat through the pill bottles to get it. My dog doesn't eat pills. Especially not pills all the way up on our kitchen counter, where we keep our daily medications. So my fiancé came home to an empty pill bottle, and called these good-for-nothings. They told us to call the poison control hotline-$60 fee JUST TO TALK TO SOMEONE. The fee does apply to your vet bill however, if you are referred in. We're beyond inducing vomit the hotline says, so we have to take her in, because she's consumed 6 days of medication in the last 24 hours, which is irreparable damage to her insides. We bring her in, and now we're waiting on a phone call. Thank you BluePearl for finding a way to make more money, and potentially killing my dog. In my field, you can lose your fucking license for excluding that kind of information. The only reason there's a one-star, is because you're open when my vet is closed. JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE. $32 for induced vomiting! Which I could have done at home. And between another medication and the charcoal to keep her from aspirating, a whopping total of $220!!! $550 in the span of three days. You are liable BluePearl. read more

Just brought my cat in. Charlie is a 15 month old ragdoll, sweet, healthy and happy. Last night I noticed that he was having a lot of trouble standing up, and couldn't take more than a few steps before laying down. Called my vet and they told me to bring him here. Charlie and I were greeted by one of the nurses. She was kind , attentive and very helpful. The checkin process was quick, we were put in a room right away and Charlie was evaluated almost immediately. They took him inside just now for a more comprehensive exam. As I sat here, I started reading the reviews for this place. I was a bit surprised to see how many negative comments were posted, but so far my experience here has been the best I could've hope for. This place is clean, well staffed, and I can hear the staff welcoming new pets and their owners from here I'm sitting. All I hear and see is a group of amazing professionals. We waited 5 hours to see a vet. The vet charged us $2,000 and kept her overnight. We were told the total charges might be over $5,000 and no way to pay any of it later. We picked her up the next day and she looked even worse than when we left her. That evening when we were ready to give her medicines, we noticed one was a muscle relaxer. We didn't give her that one, and the next morning she was aler and walking normally again. Their vet charged us $2,000 because she didn't recognize our dog was over sedated on her meds. The place wasn't friendly, they didn't keep us posted on anything without us chasing them down to see what was happening. The place was freezing cold, which made the 5 hours seem much longer. Please do not respond to my post with some nonsense and make it seem like I am making stuff up. Since this was posted, I have received an email from Tracy admitting that my bill was "a mess". Took my dog in at 1:30am. Had been licking, panting, having trouble breathing for over 3.5 hours. Clearly in distress. Totally dismissed me. The vet didn't even come to look at her. The tech said the vet wanted her to ask me if I wanted a bunch of tests run. From what she sees it isn't an ER visit give her some benedryl. Literally didn't even look at the dog or assess her. This proud gay pet owner doesn't use Blue Pearl as his primary caregiver, no -- he uses Nicolosi Animal Hospital on northwest 23rd. That said, my vet (Dr. Sam Nicolosi) referred me to Blue Pearl for emergency services and I was very pleased with the (expensive but thorough) care my beloved Rat Terrier mix received here. Took my 5 month old puppy in for a severe allergic reaction to a wasp sting. We waited for almost 2 hours before they told us she was completely fine and didn't need any medical attention, vaccines, etc. I asked the doctor if there was any of the stinger left in her foot (I was worried I didn't get it all) and she proceeds to ask me "which foot was it"? She did not even examine her even though we paid $106 for an "exam fee". She also told us to give her Benadryl at home and said "I can't remember how much she weighs but about a half of Benadryl should be fine" 10/10 do not recommend this clinic. Some monster abandoned their terminally ill dog. We found her on Mother's Day weekend & were blessed to give her the last bit of happy life we could. We knew Blue Pearl would provide the best care/answers they could on this busy weekend. They were slammed. Once they saw this angel's issues, they knew it went from "she looks fine enough to go home" to "let me put you in a room." EVERY team member calmly, professionally put us & this sweet old girl at ease. They checked in, gave kind updates, fed her treats or anything we asked, & were SO generous with their love & aid. As people who have lost a beloved dog AND been at that very clinic beside a friend losing her dog, this was a hard evening. Their compassion got us through. Sweet front desk Rhiannon even offered a great last meal of Reese's eggs for our angel pup Yes, they triage, which can be frustrating for those whose dogs aren't in immediately life-threatening situations. Maybe they're even understaffed? But that isn't the employees' faults, & they're doing everything they can for the best experience (it's kind to show these compassionate folks some compassion, too!) So MGMT/OWNERS: if you can, please hire more clinicians! Your place is top-notch & deserves that reputation! AND our incredible community deserves to feel as valuable & at peace as we do tonight. Today was hard. In retrospect, I know every employee there was discreetly prepping us for the worst. Despite knowing her a short while & knowing many pups I love more than life itself, today's dog was the gentlest, sweetest one I've ever known. I had to take my dog to the ER due to a kurfuffle between my two dogs. We got there, called and the person taking the information was super kind on the phone (we had to wait in the car due to Covid). She checked us in, took information, explained the process and wait time and was very thorough. Then we were able to take the dog in and we were promptly greeted by a tech who asked questions while making friends with Sir Winston. They set the expectations, took him back. Then the vet called and was super awesome answering and explaining. They did indicate they would call first if additional work/tests were needed (non needed). I do agree it is a bit expensive and can be a deterrent if someone needs to bring their dog there as it is $142 just to be seen. I contemplated, but looked at my pup's nose bleed and knew I had to get him in, but during the time of Covid it does hit the pocket book for sure! read more

Took my dog to see Dr. Studer in Ophthalmology for his non-healing ulcer. Overall GREAT experience! The front desk staff were very nice and checked me in promptly. I was about 15 minutes early for my appointment and hadn't waited long at all when the veterinary technician came out to get us. The technician was very courteous and explained his preliminary testing before and while he was doing it. To my surprise, the wait was slim to none before the doctor came in to greet us. He was very processional, kind and thorough. His great bedside manner is much appreciated! He clearly explained what he thought to be going on with my dog's eye and how he was planning to treat it. The procedure was done seamlessly and I had the take-home medication and discharge instructions just as fast as I could blink. The bill wasn't great, but ... for great specialty service, the value is there! Will be going back in two weeks for a follow up, scheduled with confidence. We arrived with a heating pad around our critically ill 2 day old English bulldog puppy. When given our options for treatment or euthanizing, the euthanasia bids were an added $300-$500 from low end to high end. We felt that was outrageous and were going to get a second opinion. Shortly, after leaving our cold puppy (which clearly had not been kept warm in their care) was in distress and we felt something needed to be done. I called them back and said, what is the most basic euthanasia option? She said to cremate or to take home to bury? I said bury. She said a couple of dollars for the shot. This was not given to us as an option in our original bid. I felt we were being price gauged originally which was unethical given the condition the pup was in. read more

I see a lot of complaints about cost and unhelpful receptionists. This is an emergency vet, hospital, and a business. Do not expect free advice or the same rates you would pay for your scheduled appointments at your primary care vet. These folks exist because your pet is experiencing issues after hours or on the weekend, and I am thankful they are here in OKC. We had to seek care while our dog was experiencing pancreatic issues. The vet tech was compassionate and the doctor was very knowledgable. We were in and out quickly, and have a dog that is feeling much better. My Pomeranian has a mast cell tumor on his right front leg and we met with Dr. Lamb today to discuss Domino's options to remove the lump. She was very friendly and helpful and thoroughly explained the different type of surgeries they could do. We will definitely put our trust in her to save my precious pups life.
