When you walk in the door you are greeted by a modern and clean looking facility. There are electrical outlets easily accessible in the waiting area, and it appears that they have their act together. That falls apart quickly. The first thing we noticed after being taken to an exam room was that there was no sink. Caring for pets can be a messy process. The fact that the staff here doesn't believe that hand washing is important is a telling sign. After speaking with the vet it became apparent that the objective is to separate people from their money, not care for pets. They have no sense of urgency, are quick to dismiss any complaints, and look down upon you for questioning anything they say. After this experience I wouldn't take a stray here, much less an animal I cared about. read more

WARNING!!!! We had the MOST AWFULL experience with Blue Pearl. I write this review in hopes to spare someone else our agony and save a pet life. Since I am not one that writes a lot of reviews this is a big deal. Blue Pearl misrepresented the facts and risks for a very expensive procedure that we would have never done if we knew the real facts about how risky it was. They required $7200 up front and then after saying it had less than 10% risk they KILLED our precious dog for financial gain. I feel that Blue Pearl saves my dog Bailey's life. My dog Bailey, is the most adorable rat terrier EVAH! Sunday morning Bailey fell out of bed (about 3 feet high). I got up about 45 minutes later and I noticed vomit in the living room and something with a reddish tinge in the kitchen. I cleaned up both and noticed Bailey didn't look well. Her stomach was hard and full. I thought she had bloat and so I googled it. Google advised me to get her to a vet immediately. So I, being a modern woman, put the question out on Facebook "which is the best emergency vet in OKC?" Someone replied with "Blue Pearl" and so we took off for Blue Pearl. By the time we got to Blue Pearl Bailey was in distress. They asked permission to take an X-ray and I was like "yes, go, take care of my baby." Well, now that I'm not hysterical I understand and appreciate their asking permission, but at the time I thought they were nuts! The doctor came out and spoke with me. She said they weren't sure why fluid was collecting in her abdomen but found it unusual that a simple fall could cause this much damage. But she did reassure me that my feeding her boneless chicken was not the culprit and it was not bloat. They had to drain her abdomen and on Monday do surgery to sew up a ruptured bladder. If we had not had access to emergency veterinarians with surgeons who had been trained in such procedures, I shudder to think of what outcome could be Bailey is home. She is experiencing some incontinence, but I believe in time that will pass. Yes, it was expensive $5008! And even then, I don't care. My baby is alive. I love her. Thank you to all the doctors and staff of Blue Pearl. You saved my baby's life. P.S. yes this was expensive but veterinarians go to school as long as M.D.'s and make far less. Many of the veterinarians that worked on Bailey have years of residencies. They still have to have the same X-ray equipment, ultrasounds, lab equipment, etc. They owe as much in student loans without the ability to wipe it out by public service. So, don't think about how expensive it is. It how expensive it isn't. Bailey was in ICU for 96+ hours and had major surgery. At one point she had two i.v.'s. How much would this have cost if she had been a person? No, it is not outrageous. Dogs don't have even a real semblance of insurance. Veterinarians would go bankrupt if they didn't charge us money. Then we wouldn't be able to save any of them. Yes, these life and death decisions are hard. But don't be angry at a system that allows the veterinarians to owe thousands of dollars in student loans and to have to buy expensive equipment and supplies. I am thankful for their expertise. Blue Pearl emergency veterinary hospitals do not exist in 30 States for no reason. If you have an actual emergency with your pet, they can handle pretty much anything. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Blue Pearl literally saved our dog's life, and we will never regret spending the money it took to accomplish that. While in their care for several days, we had updates via phone, pics texted and were able to visit our dog in person during their visiting hours. In the face of an unexpected crisis (normal for them, awful for us and our dog), the level of care provided was exceptional and all our interactions with staff were positive and professional. Very disappointed in our experience with our 9-year-old male Chihuahua getting a repaired CCL (ACL) surgery. Unexpectedly came home to a limping puppy on a Friday night. Made an urgent visit to the primary vet who determined surgery was needed to repair the ACL (a.k.a TPLO surgery). Our trusted vet referred us to Blue Pearl, who was able to provide a consultation the following day. Two days following, our pup is "under the knife" of surgeon Brent Newcomb for a cumulative total of $3670.00. For us, the price was not a factor-- our goal that our little man lives the rest of life with a fully functional leg. We were happy to hear of the positive recommendations and immediate service. We now feel they're promptness to serve us was revenue-oriented. Prescribed an anti inflammatory and a pain medicine for 10 days after TPLO surgery, we came in for the 2-week check up and were informed our pup wasn't healing as expected-- I.e. not putting enough weight on his hind legs to regain normal movement. Only recommendation was to change the balance of the harness for walks. At the 8-week follow-up visit (which took 8 minutes in and out the door despite the included cost of a "radiographic recheck for bone healing"), we were cleared at 100%. AWESOME....accept that in that very same week (after the medications had ended) we noticed less activity and the beginning of a limp. HOW CAN WE GO FROM 100% TO ~60% in 5 days?!?!? We have since taken xrays at our primary vet who determined the cartilage in the knee is dissipated. We've received (and paid for) several rounds of steroid shots from the primary vet to combat the problem. Our vet has also relayed his correspondence with surgeon Newcomb. We understand that there is no guarantee following a major surgery. We are highly disappointed at the lack of communication between the surgeon and client, despite his confirmed awareness of the complications. Absolutely impersonal, non-responsive, and irresponsible major surgery center. We feel devalued and scammed for our trust and initial encouragement that life would return to normal. We would have liked for Blue Pearl to reach out to us offering empathy (ie a dog is still in pain) and customer service to back their product, with or without cost. WE ARE ABANDONDED-- and that is not right. Had we been contacted on how to further address the medical needs of our pup, we would not feel so mistreated. read more

They were very kind. My dog wasn't eating or drinking any water and was lethargic and trembling when we brought her in at midnight. They took her in almost immediately and checked her over in the back. One of the veterinary assistants came into the room that we were waiting in and told us that she had made a recovery, but if we wanted to pay to see a vet and do x-rays, we could. Our dog has an allergic reaction to something. His eyes were swollen almost totally shut and he had large lumps all over his body. Of course this happened on a Saturday afternoon so we couldn't take him to his own vet. We decided to take him to BluePearl. They were very nice and actually got him in fairly quickly. From the reviews I expected to be there for hours waiting. We were there for around an hour from start to finish. Maybe we just got lucky. They checked him out, and gave him a Benedryl shot and he was almost immediately better. We were very happy. They are crazy expensive though. For basically looking at him and giving him a shot, it cost over $200. I understand it was a Saturday and they are an emergency vet but that seemed really high to me. It costs around $140 just to be seen at all. That also seems high. We were very happy to get our puppy better so I guess I shouldn't complain about what it costs. read more

I was in a very stressful emergency type situation and they took care of all my needs. Their staff was friendly and they were professional and they did not charge me a bunch of extra money for stuff I didn't need. they absolutely loved my dog and treated him the best. I could tell because they were bragging on him for being so good when he. when he was in so much pain and they were scrubbing his wounds, they were almost sure they were going to have to put him under anesthesia and it would've been an extra five or $600 and they were able to do it without the anesthesia which made a big difference of course if he needed it if we had chose we were only worried about him being comfortable, but they said he was great and they did not feel like he had any problems and they were able to clean him up and get him back home that same day. I feel like I have had some pretty hellish visits to Neel vet. thank you. Blue pearl unfortunately today I am having to return with a puppy. That is not well. I'm hoping for the best. read more

I arrived with my dog that had a dog bite needing attention. The front desk advised it would be a 3 hour on site wait. There was only one other pet in the waiting room????? We were put in our own exam room and advised that a "Triage" would be conducted soon. After 2 hours and no Triage exam I heard another pet in the next room brought in and Triaged immediately because her dog "Did not feel well". It is my opinion that there were no 24/7 vet doctors on site until at least noon. I could not hear any pets being attended to anywhere. At that time I realized my pet just didn't matter. We both got up and left. The staff did not ask is there anything we can do, is something wrong... or kiss my butt. I will never take any pet there again. read more

DO NOT bring your beloved pets here under any circumstance!!! All this facility cares about is making a profit not providing emergency care and treatment to your pets. I never would've taken my cat here if I didn't feel it was an absolute emergency an if I didn't feel she might have gotten worse over night. When I got back from work shortly after 5:00 pm my cat acted weak, was not talkative an energetic like usual, didn't want anything to do with her food when she usually races me to the food bowl, all she wanted to do was lay around. Was not interested in playing or any of her favorite toys. She was drinking and urinating though. Just very wobbly when standing and very slow walking. Completely unlike her, and scary that this happened all of a sudden when she was completely fine this morning when I went to work. I called Blue Pearl ahead of time and was told the wait was about 2-4 hours and right away, without me asking, was told it would be $180 just to have an exam with the dr and anything after that would be extra. Walked in about 8:00pm, not a soul on the waiting room, very quiet, not even any staff behind the front counter. Someone finally came to the counter an got us checked in. A few minutes after being in the room, someone came to ask questions and took my cat back to "draw blood and do labs". Sat in this room, without any updates or anything for an hour. That's an awful long time to draw blood, and possibly do labs. I went out to get an update, and was told they would check an get back to me. One of the staff came in after about 20 minutes or so, stated that she seemed to be doing fine, she was sleeping and calm and they were observing her in a kennel. I said the problem is that's all she wants to do is sleep and it's not usual for her to be calm an that was the entire reason I brought her in. Was told they were waiting on the dr to do an exam and then he would decide if he wanted the blood lab ran, unless I went ahead an gave the okay to run the blood. What was the point of drawing blood an waiting for the dr?!? If you draw it, run it! Waited two more hours in the room, without my cat, or any other updates. Asked for another update same thing, "I'll go check" told me the dr was about to go in for the exam. I found it extremely odd that everything was being done in the back, where I couldn't be present with my animal, and were a vet that had never seen her before didn't want to ask history or any other questions while doing the exam. I asked why I couldn't be present for the exam or be with her until the dr came to see her an was told that is how things are done in a vet hospital. Close to the 4 hour mark, the dr came in the room, without my cat, to speak to me. My cat is 6 year old, goes to her routine vet checkups every year with full work up an has been in perfect health until today. This dr tells me she has very bad diabetes and her blood work was concerning. The bloodwork that I had to tell them to go ahead an run. He goes into this whole speal about with cats they can have diabetes an never show any signs or symptoms and that it's common to be okay one moment and then bad all at once. Kept using all this vet talk an terms I didn't understand without explaining it to me to where I could understand. Then said he would like to run a urinalysis to confirm what he thinks is going on. I said fine do that then. Another 30 minutes an he comes back in saying all her results are bad and the numbers are extremely high and that the first thing they are going to do is keep her over night an get her started on all these things. I said you are absolutely not keeping her over night, I have never heard of this happening to cats before in my life without showing any signs or symptoms, I'm taking her home. He ignored me an said he wanted to draw up a treatment plan an get her started on meds and out patient therapy. I said again, go get my cat we are leaving she is not staying over night. He finally agreed then asked me if I wanted him to send home meds or hydrating supplies with us, I said she's not dehydrated she's been drinking just fine and that I had already told them that several times. I go up to the front, and a female at the desk said she had everything ready for me to check out, I said I would like to see my cat first, she told me you can see her after you pay. They literally kept my cat in the back until I agreed to pay. For a 4 hour wait, at an emergency vet hospital, having to track down staff to ask for updates, getting an exam, blood work an a urinalysis they charged me $563!!! And when I got upset about the price I was told I could lose the attitude and watch how I was speaking to her. Hands down the most awful experience. read more

I arrived to the ER with my female dog at 8:45pm. They took my dog to back for some test. Haven't met the doctor yet at it's 9:47pm. I should have met the doctor at the beginning and not the tech who just took her to the back. Finally Dr Kelly comes in hour and half later and I was told they were going to do some other test...lab(that would take 20min for results) and I could go home and feed the runt and return. I return 30 min later, waiting and waiting. NOTHING! THREE HOURS later from arrival...at 11:50pm I'm still at the vet with a 1 day old litter of 6 at home that have not been nursed for 3 hours. Only the runt has eaten. Left the house with house full of whining, hungry puppies. I notified them twice about this and that I need to know ASAP/STAT so I can get my female back to her litter. No one comes in to update. Dr Kelly comes in at 12:10 AM to tell me nothing is wrong with her! They could have told me that when I arrived. Because the lab was done! Lots of crucial time wasted when my dog could have been with her babies nursing. I'm going on 4 hours NOW! It took them additional 24 Min after Dr Kelly told me that she was going to send my dog home from actually having her brought to my room so I could go home for her to feed her HUNGRY day old puppies. They went 4 hours without their mom and eating. NOT ONCE DID I GET ANYONE APOLOGIZING FOR THE LONG UNNECESSARY WAIT! I do not plan on brining any of my pets back if I have any other choice. So it took 4 hours for lab, xray and ultrasound.... Very slow service and no apologies for the extended long wait is very unprofessional! read more

If your pet needs an emergency colonoscopy, then this is definitely the place to go. It's very clean, very professional, and seems like a human emergency room. I was there during a pet emergency and it was quite impressive. Another thing they have there (that are hard to find) are vet specialists.....and sometimes that's what you need for complicated chronic issues. They're not cheap though, but you'll have to decide for yourself who wins in the dollar vs. love contest. However.... Although BluePearl appears technically competent, it's not very personal. I've been there three times in 2 weeks and never saw the same doctor or vet nurse twice. As a result, it doesn't seem like the left hand knows what the right hand is doing as far as care goes. Plus, there's always a "test" that is being recommended. I want ALL the recommendations up front, not this constant up-sell. Again, employees are very good, but customer service and customer procedures need some improvements. What I would like to see is: A. See the same doctor every time, B. Give me 100% of estimates. C. Stop trying to sell me the London Bridge. For an after hours emergency or a specialist, BluePearl is the place to go, but bring a sack of money and be ready to get a sales pitch for a time share in Mexico. read more

The doctors and techs there actually show attention to your babies and care for them. Also, they're about 1/3 of the price. 2nd encounter we have had with Blue Pearl-OKC. 1st encounter I already wrote a review on and did end up losing our cat. Now we have a dog in need of emergency attention. I call ahead around midnight to ensure there is a doctor there and they can see my dog. They say yes and to bring him in. So I do. Of course just like the majority of other reviews state, they tell me the vet is starting a surgery and it'll be 1.5 to 2 hours before they'll see my dog. I'm desperate because the other two emergency vets could not either (1 didn't have a vet that night and the other had a 6 hour wait). So my only option was to stay here and wait the 2 hours. But the lady at the front desk ensured me that a vet tech would get my dog and start the work up on him. We were placed in a room and never checked on again. I called around more places looking for emergency care and couldn't find anyone. We waited and saw that this was a trend per the reviews and our experience and realized the next thing we would probably be told is they wouldn't be able to see him for a few more hours (which by then his vet would be open). I went out to the desk to see if they had an ETA even for the tech but everyone had disappeared. Mind you, there was only one person in the waiting room when we showed up. I couldn't find a single employee and decided to leave bc at this point my gut is telling me I would lose my dog to them just like I did my cat. Both times I have came here they have tried to convince me to leave. They literally try to tell you they won't be able to see your pet for many hours just so you will go. It's sick. My older farm dog was acting abnormal for him. Very lethargic, wouldn't even get up to let us drive out of our driveway and several days before we had found him eating part of a wild dead animal. We were concerned and about to leave town for several days. I called Blue Pearl and was told due to covid they don't allow owners in the building and if we brought him it would likely be a minimum of 4 hours. We decided of course that our dog's health was worth the wait. We drove 30 minutes and were directed to call before coming to the door. We called and we were told again we would have a long wait, if it wasn't life threatening, it would be better if we went to Neel Animal Hospital. We drove to Neel and were turned away there as well. Being turned away at Neel isn't Blue Pearls fault... so my review of Neel Vet will be placed there. The last item I want to comment on is this, this companies decision to still be closed to owners due to covid. We are over a year out from the shut down. We have masks, vaccines and social distancing. You are going to tell me that I can sit in a restaurant, shop at Walmart, go to the doctor where other sick people are just to name a few locations and we can't accompany our dog into this vet? It's ridiculous and seems like it's more of a "we don't want to have owners in our facility" than a true concern about covid. Find an emergency vet you can actually take your pet to when you can, one that will actually see your pet, one that isn't using covid as a reason to not allow owners to stay with their sick animals. Pets are part of your family, they deserve better than to be passed off in a doorway. read more

This evaluation is from the perspective of a neurosurgeon: This is an excellent facility providing superior care for your pet. When our small dog fell and broke her leg, Blue Pearl saw her at 11:30 pm, evaluated her, did X-rays, and found her fracture. She spent the night and underwent surgery they next day by a surgically fellowship trained veterinarian Dr Walker. She has had a great recovery and has been so well cared for. I am so grateful for Blue Pearl and their care of our Pomeranian. It might seem expensive- but it is reasonable and customary. Their care of our dog however, was phenomenal. By the way, I waited to write this until a month passed to thoroughly evaluate her care. Blue Pearl is fantastic. read more

I brought my dog into blue pearl with a true animal emergency. She was having an anaphylactic reaction to heart worm shot. We walked into the clinic with an unresponsive dog who had a heartbeat I could not palpate, she was still breathing shallow breaths, tongue swollen and hanging out. Sadie the amazing girl at the reception desk, ran from behind the counter and swooped my dog out of my boyfriends arms and ran her straight to the back. Sadie recognized an emergency without me saying anything. Dr kelly gave my dog an epinephrine shot immediately and saved her life! I am so thankful for the blue pearl team! read more

This emergency veterinary hospital is absolutely amazing. As soon as ran inside with my hurt puppy they had staff scooping him from me and started helping him immediately. With no payment until we were able to come up with the money later that evening. Everyone was so compassionate and caring treating our puppy the way you would treat a family member. We were able to call any time of day to get updates and go visit him anytime we wanted. The nurses and drs were very informative the entire time. The front desk ladies were all so sweet and kind every step of the way. Especially to my 12 year old son that was very upset due to our puppies accident. Even when in the end we had to make the decision to put our fur baby to sleep. The amount of compassion respect and love shown to us from every person we encountered was absolutely amazing. A week ago, I had to make the hard decision of putting down one of my dogs due to a disease that basically shut his body down in days. It was a very hard decision but it was made a little less hard by the staff and doctors here. They treated me and my partner with compassion and answered all the questions we had. They never rushed us and made us feel comfortable with our decision. I appreciate the candid, honest but gentle dialogue when dealing with this. I recommend this place if you have to go to an emergency room. I took one star down solely due to cost. As with any emergency visit, it can cost quite a bit. If cost isn't am issue, come here. For us, it was an unexpected cost and we were lucky to have it at the time. A few days after our visit, we got a really thoughtful card from the staff and doctors that made us feel loved. Your facility at 1401 W Memorial Rd Oklahoma City has caused major, permanent damage to my dog and has blatantly lied on all documentation about my dog's condition and progress. What a truly horrible place with unethical veterinarians. Someone needs to take accountability and responsibility for their negligence, and you should not employ horrible veterinarians like this. I took my dog, Stella to BluePearl on Monday, 3/6/2023, for a leg injury she had while jumping and playing out in the backyard. I thought she tore or broke something in her leg. Dr. Eike said they would like to sedate her and giver her xrays. I agreed and Dr. Eike said she had a hock joint injury and wanted to put her in a splint. I agreed and the aftercare plan was to see my regular vet in 7 days for a splint change. They also gave me prescriptions for anti-inflammatory and pain medications for Stella. I called my regular vet (Healing Hands Vet) the same day and told them what had happened and made an appt so they could see her exactly 7 days from that day. When I brought Stella into my regular vet 7 days after going to BluePearl (3/13/2023), they noticed that Stella's splint was on incorrectly and too tight. Her toes were not showing, and her paw was 3x the normal size. The removed the splint and my vet looked at the xrays BluePearl sent over. My vet disagreed that Stella needed a splint to begin with and settled for a hock joint brace. After the splint was removed my vet examined her paw and we noticed not only was it swollen but bloody with hard paw pads and discolored tissue. They put a breathable bandage on and went home only to follow back up with my regular vet 2 days later. Upon my appointment back to my regular vet three days later (3/16/2023), we noticed more significant damage. Necrotic, dead tissue and paw pads, and missing flesh that left my dog's paw raw and exposed (muscle and bone were showing in some spots). My vet said she would most likely lose some paw pads. I called BluePearl on 3/16/2023 and asked to speak to a manager. They took my information to have a manager call me back. I had to call them 2 more times in order to get to a manager. Finally, on 3/21/2023 I spoke to Brittany, a manager, who then spoke to Dr. Walker about the issue. They told me to bring Stella in for free on 3/23/2023. On 3/23/2023, Dr. Walker examined Stella and said that she didnt have any bones exposed and none of her paw pads were dead. Even though my regular vet said the opposite and I could see and feel the bone and dead paw pads. Dr. Walker then said he will bandage Stella's paw for free, no charge for the next 6 weeks or so. He recommended I bring her in 2x per week for a bandage change - Mondays and Thursdays, as that is when the surgical team and Dr Walker are present there. I agreed, as I am helpless and needed some type of help and care for my dog. I really wanted to be refunded at this point but since they were offering to try to help fix their negligence for free, I was willing to accept. Stella got her bandage changed that day and on 3/27/2023 and 3/30/2023. I asked them how her paw was looking and the surgical assistants said Dr. Walker has been the one bandaging her up and says its going well, no issues. The following morning when I wake up, Friday 3/31/2023 I notice her toes are swollen because her nails were about two inches apart and they told me to keep an eye on this as it's a sign of swelling. Since the surgical team at BluePearl was not there on Fridays, I called my regular vet and they told me to bring her in at the end of the day and I did. My regular vet removed her bandage and examined Stella's paw. She told me she did not expect her to lose her entire main paw pad and I said "what do you mean?", and she said "look, it is completely gone!" I said "what?" Dr. Walker told me none of her paw pads were dead and none would fall off. And they told me just the day before that Stella was doing fine with no issues. They never told me her main paw pad had fallen off. I wonder when they planned on doing that? My regular vet said she may need surgery and isn't sure how she will heal up. She showed me how to bandage Stella's paw and gave me all of the items I needed to do it so I can take care of her myself without having to drive 2 hours a week to BluePearl especially after I found out they flat out lied to me. 1) The negligence of putting her initial splint on incorrectly and too tight which then caused my dog to lose part of her paw is unacceptable. 2) Dr. Walker lied to me about her condition, downplayed it, and never told me about her paw pad falling off. I took my dog here for a possible leg/bone fracture and now she has come out with a disformed paw that is missing a pad and tissue. They moved to a new location to the left side of main event entertainment. This location is a lot more cleaner and more modern looking than the previous one. The previous building had to separate building but this one looks to be one main building but the parking lot looks bigger as well. The staff here are friendly and very efficient and seem to manage time quite well. I would recommend you bring your pet in a leash because there's a lot of other pets in the waiting room. I came here because my dog had an eye problem and both the technician and the doctor treating myself and my dog professionally and sincerely. The cost is a bit high but because the work here being a specialty I see the logic behind it but this is mainly a place you go to when your local veterinary can not figure out what was wrong with your pet. read more

I am always hesitant to read reviews on businesses, because I think some people just become trolls when they are behind a keyboard. After looking at the reviews for Blue Pearl, I was hoping that some of the bad reviews were done by said trolls. And I was right. My 5 week old chihuahua, Tank, was having diarrhea and had a bloated stomach. I didn't know of another emergency vet, as I had never been to a 24 hour vet before. I didn't have much time to research a reputable vet, and only had enough time to concern myself over the few Yelp reviews I read prior to heading to Blue Pearl. As soon as I started walking through the door, one of their staff members immediately met me and started asking questions. They assured me that Tank would be in good hands. They advised me of expected costs, such as the $105 fee for seeing him. Before they took him back they let me know what they thought could be some probable causes for his illness. They made me feel at ease as they took my puppy back for an examination. It turns out Tank only had worms. They gave me some medicine to give him over the course of 5 days and properly explained everything to this new dog mom. After telling a few other people about my experience at Blue Pearl, every one else seemed to have positive things to say as well. It is a state-of-the-art facility with a caring, knowledgeable, and professional staff. If you want what is best for your fur baby, look no further than Blue Pearl. I can't stress enough to NOT bring your fur babies here in a life threatening emergency, the staff simply are not educated and are under qualified. The only positive I can say is everyone was very polite. Thursday evening my pregnant frenchy went into labor. She had only one puppy and I kept up with my vet making sure she would be able to birth naturally, and due to the size and quantity she was expecting to have an easy delivery. Around 2 am she started to have contractions and after an hour I worried because she wasn't making progress so I asked my boyfriend to bring her to the hospital, Blue Pearl. Upon arrival they informed him she needed to be "straining harder" and was still "preparing" and sent them home. Unusual to me but we trusted the "professionals." As soon as they got home the sac around the baby started to come out and I thought maybe she would be able to do it on her own. Unfortunately the baby was being born breach and only got out the little back legs before getting stuck. We rushed her back to the hospital who took her back and immediately started trying to pull the baby out. I could hear my Sasha screaming in pain the whole time. About 15 minutes later they informed us the baby didn't make it and they were going to continue to try to remove it. For TWO HOURS they pulled and hurt my girl before deciding to take an X-ray and determine she needed to have the baby removed via c section. At that same time they also informed me they could not perform the surgery until that night, it was 8 am, and Sasha could die in the position she was and pain with the puppy hanging out. They also kept pressing to me how expensive their c-section surgery would be ($4-$6,000) and I told them repeatedly I did not care what the price is I just wanted my girl taken care of right now. I will pay any price. That's when they told me they wouldn't be able to even take her until much MUCH later, which she would have died by then. So much for emergency services if they can't even perform surgeries until they "have time". I called my regular vet at this time and explained the situation while breaking down just hearing my baby crying in the back. My vet said rush her in and they moved their surgery schedule around to get her first thing. Thank God for them. The hospital charged me nearly $500 for whatever services they think they performed. And the worst WORST part. They brought my girl out to me holding her in the most uncomfortable way while she was completely delirious just screaming and crying so loud. I saw her eyes, mouth, and body, and she truly was dying. Her tongue was white and blue, eyes rolled back, and she couldn't move. She was in SO much pain from the trauma they caused her. I rushed her to my vet who immediately took her with gently loving care, hugged me while I cried, and got to work. They sedated her and within 5 minutes were able to get the baby out with gently lubricated maneuvers. 5 MINUTES. They then said due to the damage from the constant pulling on the baby they would recommend I get her spayed and they did it right then and there. I stayed in the parking lot in my car resting the entire time and they updated me every step of the way. They saved my Sasha girls life. They also sent the baby to be cremated and let me see her before. Sasha was up and happy when I came to pick her up because my girl is strong and a fighter. Blue Pearl almost took the life of my beloved fur baby. My amazing vet saved her life. NEVER trust them with your babies. My dogs are my children and the thought that I almost lost one of my kids breaks my heart still, and I NEVER want anyone else to experience the pain and fear I felt, so stay away from Blue Pearl Animal Hospital. read more

Took my dog in for extreme bloating. Paid $250 for X-rays and they told me my dog was just super full of food. When I told them I was ready to pay and be on my way they started telling me that my dog might actually die and they needed to take X-rays from a different angle to be sure and that it would take a few hours and cost more money. Never got to talk to an actual vet and they charged a "tech fee" even though this person had no idea what they were talking about. I would avoid this place at all costs. The facility is top notch. The staff is very friendly. The only complaint I have. I called three different vets in different areas of OKC to treat a small puppy for pancreatitis. All three vets gave me the same price of $500. We ended up paying $1200 at BluePearl. I don't mind paying more for better service and a better facility. But paying more than double price of others for the exact same procedure is a little ridiculous. Again the facility was nice the Price gouging is bad here. If money is not an option and you have plenty to spare this place will be OK for you. But to the average person prices are not reasonable compared to the rest of the market. read more

I was a little nervous coming here after I read the other Yelp reviews, but we did so anyway because it was the closest 24-hour pet hospital, and because being in the medical field I know how personal, contextual and subjective an individual's experience can be. I was pleasantly surprised. Both the vet we initially encountered the night we brought our 14-year-old tuxedo kitty Aislynn in and the intensivist that gave us her heart breaking prognosis the next day were compassionate, patient and understanding. They let us make the decisions about her care and helped us with the transition home on hospice for our precious furbaby. The front desk and nursing staff were also very responsive to our needs and I was never made to feel like I was inconveniencing anyone with my questions or requests. They were especially quick to act when they realized how sick our beloved kitty was and we never felt like we were kept in the dark about anything that was happening. I also felt their prices were incredibly reasonable, especially when compared to other vet care centers out there (and unfortunately due to moving, we have been to a few including a 24-hour hospital in the Bethany-Warr Acres area). I took my doggo here after he broke his elbow and needed to have a surgery. I had his appointment for same day consult and surgery and it was set for 2 weeks later. After questioning if this was too long of a wait to fix an elbow, I received a lukewarm response about that's what they could do for me at this time or else I could take him to Stillwater at the other animal hospital. I totally understand scheduling conflicts but this was just an unpleasant decision for me - either wait it out and hope it wasn't too late or to completely drop every thing and go somewhere that is way too far. And when trying to weigh out the risks and benefits, I felt unsupported and scared that I was doing the wrong thing and ultimately did not get the information I needed. I ended up waiting for the appointment since it really wasn't possible for me to head to Stillwater and lo and behold the vet said that I may have waited too long for him to have a full recovery. That was really a big blow to me in an already stressful situation that I did not do my best to provide for my baby. The initial call was one of the only negative things that I had to say. All other encounters were professional and pleasant and I had the full run down of everything that I needed to do. The vet really took time to answer all my questions and the vet techs were really great with education and patient with me. We allowed BluePearl to charge our credit card for $6000 after we had our pet euthanized we gave them $6000 in cash we ask the charges be reversed immediately the day before we left after we paid the cash. Now four days later I call up there to ask where the refund is on my credit card and the finance lady begins to tell me since my wife didn't put my name on the account so they couldn't speak to me (the credit card is clearly in my name)however if they would have done what they said they were going to do and reversed the charges the day we gave them the $6000 cash I would not have the need to call there so I do not recommend this incompetent facility to take care of anyone's pets will use the new emergency clinic in Edmond we will never go to BluePearl again ever. I was not very nice to them on the phone either. What a joke this place is. I'm just going to call my credit card company right now and decline the charges myself. I was very happy with my experience here. Tonight I discovered that my dog had located a pack of mouse poison and eaten it. They immediately got to work on her and were up front about the cost of services. I was in and out in about an hour. I'm so thankful they were there when I needed them at 11 at night.
