My wife and I (both early 30s) went back the Fall to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Typically, we are not bed and breakfast style people. We like our own space and don't love staying with and around strangers in an intimate setting. But after looking at some of the reviews and pictures, we decided to give it a shot. Amanda and Joe are two of the nicest, warm, fun and amazing people we have ever met. From the minute that we arrived, we felt like we just got to the home of a long-time, great friend and not a hotel/B&B. The main house where you stay is decorated incredibly well and so clean it was like we were the first people to stay there. You can tell that Amanda put in a ton of time, thought and effort in to the decorating. Everything was perfectly chosen; from the furniture to the pottery to the art to the lighting, it all came together so well. The guest rooms are SO nice and cozy. We couldn't get over the amount of thought that Amanda put in to the design and the little details. The bed is extremely comfortable, the room is ridiculously (in a good way) clean, and it just has such a nice at home, cozy feel to it that makes you never want to leave. One of the most important things to us when choosing somewhere to stay is the food. We can confidently say, that the food Joe prepared was some of the best food we have ever had. We love local, farm to table, fresh, simple but elevated style cooking and Joe is a wizard in the kitchen. The meals that he put together for breakfast were delicious. We also loved how they were pretty healthy as well and not overly indulgent, but did have a few things that were just indulgent enough without being over the top. We also opted to do the dinner at their home on Saturday night. There are some pretty great restaurants in the area, but I would recommend opting for the dinner at their house. It's a really enjoyable experience and you feel like you're out at a friends house for dinner (also you can just walk to it from the Villa, so no need to worry about a DD). The Villa is also in a really nice location where you aren't too far from towns or outdoor activities. Everything is a drive, so you can't walk, but it's not too far and the area is so pretty you won't mind driving around. There are probably countless other things I am missing right now, but all in all, 10/10 would recommend. If you appreciate great food, amazing service, a luxurious style of comfort that isn't over the top plus meeting new people, you won't be disappointed. The worst part about the whole trip was having to leave. We can't wait for our next trip up there.

We were about to head home from a one night, last minute trip from another spot we rented- but then we stumbled upon the Warehouse. The host was incredible (she even left her family to come and bring us the key), the place was so clean and decorated so thoughtfully, and dogs are more than welcome. She also greeted us with a bottle of wine. It's absolutely perfect for the price, location (being right downtown), and comfort. I almost didn't want to write a review to expose this gem on Yelp, but It would be selfish of me not to share my fantastic experience with the world. If you want to get out of the city to relax and see the adorable little town of Saugerties, this is the place to stay.

Bubble hot bath soak two nights in a row before resting our tired city heads for the night. How wonderful. And now for the encore, dun dun dun. THE FOOD. I mean, of course, the FOOD! Gourmet breakfast,David Smythe is a chef/instructor at the Culinary Institute of America and Justine (hospitality queen/wife) is also a graduate of CIA so a powerful couple combined with a dope B&B, it's better than Disney World MAGIC. For breakfast, you get to choose and order the night beforehand on a very thorough breakfast menu. And they prepare your breakfast right when you arrive at your preferrred time to the kitchen. An experience you will not get anywhere else! They have a plate of the freshest sweetest fruits ever waiting for you when you arrive, along with your requested beverage(s)... for us coffee and orange juice. A pitcher of OJ just for you. MMMM. I wonder where they pick the fruits from. Hm. After that, they feed you a croissant (being that I ordered blueberry pancakes), i just stared at my dude begin to stuff himself. And ta da- BLUEBERRY pancakes with BACON. it was so amazing. I'm not fond of big pancakes as it gets dried quick. David Smythe perfected the mini mes with flaky airiness and crispy sides. MMMMM. And perfectly cooked bacon. HEAVENLY. the aroma will also knock you off your feet while you wait. So the next morning, I order it again! This place has been PERFECTION. NOM NOM NOM NOM. The…read moreinn was clearly a motel in a previous life, as it had that lengthy structure with outdoor entrances to each room. The parking lot was gravel-based, so vehicles were parked a bit haphazardly, but the lot's spaciousness ensured that it was not really an issue. The hotel was right on the stream with a lovely grassy area dotted with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, and other ways to enjoy the view. The office was located right next to that little park and was also where the continental buffet breakfast was served. The small room had a great view of the water from its few tables. The breakfast options included various hot beverages, several types of milk, yogurt, berries, granola, pastries, breads, hard-boiled eggs, lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, and more. It was really the perfect few bites to start the day with energy and wellness. While the inn had a few larger cabins, many of the rooms were supposedly rather tiny, including ours. The room had a queen-sized bed, nightstand, wall-mounted television, and wooden desk with matching chair. There was a closet with some hanging and shelving space, as well as a hair dryer and coffeemaker. The room really left a lot to be desired from a space perspective, as it was hard to navigate. For instance, the room might have come with 2 luggage racks, but there was really only space for one. The bathroom was also tiny, and it was near impossible to use the toilet without sideswiping the pedestal sink on your way. The shower was a decent size at least. The bathroom came with fluffy towels and Aveda products, which were both appreciated. We also loved that the temperature and pressure of the water were phenomenal; in fact, the shower was like a fire hose! Though the room was small, it was SPOTLESS! Also, its individual heater packed a great deal of warmth. There was not an abundance of electrical outlets, but the alarm clock had one built in, as well as two USB ports. The extremely gracious staff had also left a binder of local recommendations for us on the table. The bed, however, was lumpy, and the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. From a location standpoint, the inn was only a few blocks from either end of town, depending on which way you wanted to travel. The residential roads were very dark at night and many did not have sidewalks, so we definitely needed to be alert walking to and from the main drag, even though we knew the town was overly safe. The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream made up for its lack of amenities and small rooms with efficient, friendly service and clear dedication to guest satisfaction.

The house is historic and has tons of charm and character. The real highlight was Barry. He's accommodating and friendly. I stayed in the queen room for one night and definitely recommend. There is absolutely no other place with better value. As seen in all other reviews, Barry could not be a better host. He gave us detailed recommendations on everything we asked for, and even called a bar, Helsinki, to check if there were any tables left as this place has minimal standing room (only he knew this as he is the expert on everything in town). Then, again we booked last-minute train tickets back home and gave him just 20 minutes notice. Barry insisted on making us breakfast-to-go and driving us to the train station there even though we had time to walk. In just 5 minutes, Barry made us the most savory yet simple sandwich (which was the topic of conversation for part of the train ride back.) His breakfast was the best meal we had during our entire weekend in Hudson - 100% fact. Eating breakfast outside on the porch was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip. Location is walking distance from the best shopping and food in Hudson, as well as Amtrak. If anyone else is looking, this is the only place I'd recommend.
