I'm not a drinker so I haven't had an excuse to come here yet. But I was invited here for a special event, the first ever live recording of the Live in Everett podcast! Woo hoo! They are off to a flying start, their first show was great and I'll come back for more. I did have a peach soda and cesar salad while I was there and they were both really tasty. I so wanted to love my dish but it was tasteless and the salad that came with with was so unbelievably bitter I couldn't even eat it. We waited in a short line at the door and gave our name for a table. We were told we could order drinks inside and then be seated later when a table became available. The front clerk said that if they hadn't gotten to us in a timely manner to just walked up to the bar to order. About 10 minutes pass and I decide to go up to the bar but a table became available right at that time. We got seated near the window which has a nice view at sunset. We sat for about another 10 to15 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. Two out of the three hot drinks that night were not available but there was an alternative to one that I tried.We ordered several drinks, each one very unique in mixology that I would say were good but not something I would come back, Out of my way,for. We also ordered the clams, the salmon chowder, and the greens. Our food took an hour and 10 minutes to arrive and when we got the chowder the chowder was only lukewarm, it would've been very good had it been hot. The clams were appropriatelyhot and the broth was only okay...not the best I've ever had that would make me want to soak it all up with the bread given. The green salad was fresh and good. read more

This is the go-to place for my wife and I. We've gone solo, with friends, and with our kids. The food is great and the cocktails are always fantastic. We really appreciate the organic focus and small-town ambience. My buddy convinced me to try their Bloody Mary. I'm not a tomato juice fan, but I do like spice. It's a bit of a course-your-own adventure; I chose vodka steeped in cilantro and jalapeno. Yum! After dinner we stopped by the front desk to buy the ingredients to make the recipe at home (except the vegetables for making our own infused vodka). I had no idea I could like Gin, or that Vodka doesn't have to burn! The atmosphere is beautiful with all the copper and wood, as well as it's a friendly place to hang out with your peeps! I met him randomly having lunch and got invited to join their bottling party where I received delicious FREE drinks for helping bottle their gin bottles. I worked with Amy to throw a vendor holiday party. Everything went off without a hitch. The great thing about this place is that it already looks great so the only decorations that I brought were 4 poinsettia plants. We have a little over 100 people in and out with 2 bartenders and a couple other people helping here and there. People were raving about the cocktails and the apps were great. Sad to leave a negative review for what could be a really neat place. We decided to try it before a concert last night. Great little deck, beautiful views. Our server was (apparently) training someone, although she did not explain that nor did she tell us either of their names. It wasn't terribly busy and we had plenty of time, which was a good thing. We ordered our drinks and did not receive them for almost 30 minutes. The good news is my Bloody Mary was delicious and my fiancé's "Old Man And The Sea" was also very good. It was very difficult to drink my Bloody Mary without a straw, but if you want one you have to purchase it, FYI. My fiancé ordered the Chicken Parmesan special, I ordered the Milltown Caesar, and we ordered a cup of the chowder to share as a starter. We would have ordered another round of drinks if someone would have come by and asked or checked on us but that did not happen. We got our food after nearly an hour of waiting. The Chicken Parmesan was very good. The chowder was fine, nothing special, and it arrived with our meal as opposed to as a starter. I received a very small plate of lettuce with a few Parmesan shavings on top and dressing that had no flavor. As per the menu, my salad should have been an entrée size with pickled eggs, a cheese twist, and fried capers. I called the server that was in training over and she agreed, it did not look like the correct salad. She went to check and came back and said that I had ordered the side salad. I absolutely did not, as this was my dinner. Also, I don't even see that as an option on the menu. At this point we could not wait any longer and who knows how long it would've taken for them to bring me something else or fix my incorrect order? After a few minutes the other server came over and said, " I heard about your salad, sorry." Neither one of them offered to bring me something else, or to remedy the situation. At that point we really just wanted to leave. The icing on the cake is that they tack on a 20% gratuity, which I happily and gladly will pay any time but this service was not even close to a 20% tip. I went there with my work team for lunch--so no cocktails, which seems to be a strength of this restaurant--so please take that into my account with this 3-star rating. I had the fish tacos--terribly small servings (and I am a person who does not eat a lot, so for me to say this is VERY significant). Literally one sliver of fish in each of the 3 tiny tacos, and it was literally less than an inch wide, probably a quarter of an inch thick, and 2 and a half inches long...not worth the money, unless you don't mind paying for lettuce and salsa. My friend had their Mac and cheese--what I should have had. I tried it, and it was a better choice. The seating was very rustic. If you don't mind wood seating, then you'll enjoy this. I would have preferred some more comfortable seating options. They were unable/unwilling to seat us in their larger dining area next door (where they may have had additional larger tables), so instead crammed 5 of us at a table for 4, claiming the tables could seat up to 6. Not happy about that. The tables could seat up to six if you don't mind bumping elbows. All in our party were slim people, and it felt crowded with 5 seated there. Because they are organic, don't expect to be able to have a Diet Coke there (I made that mistake). They didn't carry any traditional sodas. It would help if they carried some, for those of us who can't have a cocktail, but would still welcome trying their food, while having something to pair it with besides water. Might bring you more business. I don't see myself eating there again, with so many other options in the area that I prefer better, but I hear that their drinks are great, so if you want to be near the water, and want a good cocktail, this might be your place. read more

We were excited to try some of the unique 'adventure' cocktails. I had the Bijou as it has Combier Éclicser liquor which I had never heard of before. This is served in a martini glass. After sitting & warming up it was much tastier. We both had the Convergence Zone...very tasty! Too many choices when you still have to drive home. As some others have noted...food needs an upgrade...not that it's bad but definitely not in the superlative class which would have given it a 5* rating from us. We both would like to come for one of the classes where you learn to mix 4 cocktails or infuse your own bottle which you then take home. I had never been to a distillery before this. It was very interesting on how the process goes. The owners were very nice and very informative. It is tucked back on the waterfront by Scuttlebutts. It is in a small area but they are soon going to be expanding to a larger location. Their vodka and gin is made all organic. It is a small operation but you can find their products in some bars, Whole Foods and even at the Space Needle. They let you taste some infused vodka that they had. A cherry infused VERY good, and a cranberry. Cranberry isn't my favorite but it was okay. I am not much of a drinker but it was fun to go see how it is made. read more

A friend and I had dinner at Bluewater Distilling a couple of weeks ago. The food and drinks are exceptionally good. The service on the other hand is UNBELIEVABLY bad. Not only did we have to walk up and order our own food, if we wanted another cocktail, we had to walk into the restaurant and order it. AND we were charge a 20% service fee. Who is providing the service here? In addition, although still listed as a participant in the Passport program, they no longer honor it. We will not be going back to Bluewater Distilling. On a side note, Capers and Olives, located in downtown Everett, is another small business. Their food is OUT OF THIS WORLD good and they DO NOT tack on a service fee. The drinks are the thing that keep me coming back. When the owner is present he is entertaining and has a awesome disposition. The Bloody Mary is outstanding, the Mule has a kick that is unexpected yet welcoming. My favorite drink is the San Juan with the spicy salt. Tonight I tried a drink called the Beetnik that was phenomenal. Let me say it again PHENOMENAL. The flavor of beet was subtle and the hint of the all spice simple syrup creeps up on your tongue in the most delightful way. What a great way to showcase my favorite gin, the Bluewater Halcyon. I wish they had more than one bartender on hand at all times. For some reason regardless of its a busy night or there are only a couple of tables I have had to wait about 20 minutes or so for a drink after placing my order. The food is pricey but decent, nothing out of this world. The crab cakes are pretty good though not sure if they are worth a 40 minute wait. Took one of my best friends here for her birthday and she raved about the fish tacos so I might try them at some point. read more

Never again. First time there and horrible experience w/ service, ordering food and drinks. First, it started with a very rude and short waitress. When she wasn't ignoring us, she was unpleasant. I am guessing they were short staffed but this is reason #1 of bad managing by a restaurant: Saturday dinner time is the MOST popular time of the week. Staff up. It took an hour just to get our first round of drinks. I asked for Moscow Mule and it came in a glass mug. It was awful and hardly any alcohol in it. I was puzzled because I thought this place was all about their drinks. I don't think they are prepared to make anything other than the 12 or so mixed drinks they have listed on their menu. After we 90 minutes and with a new and MUCH friendlier waitress, we were READY (STARVING) to order our meals. She tells us she can't put our order in because the kitchen is backed up. WHAT?! So this is #2 reason of poor management by this restaurant. Know, people are coming to eat WITH their beverages. Making people wait to ever PLACE AN ORDER is extremely poor. This was the nail on the coffin for me. Never coming back. Now over 2 hours since we seated, she finally takes our order. (PS we did have crudites and other starters to hold us over and keep us from committing murder on the restaurant) I ordered the macaroni. The macaroni was too spicy to even eat. I only got through a 1/3 of it. No where on the menu did it mention the FIRE in the mouth it would give you. I could barely taste the Gruyere cheese and bacon I was looking forward to. My hubby got the fish tacos... they were 3 tiny tacos... as a STARTER I get, but for a meal? No no no no. Horrible. He said they were "okay". I decided since the Moscow Mule I ordered was NOT really a MM, I decided to order a dirty martini. Came out not dirty. And I asked for vodka but it tasted like gin. By now, I was afraid to send it back because I didn't want to wait another hour to get a corrected drink. It was not good. It seemed like the bartender did not know what he was doing. Reason #3 of poor management by the restaurant. Many of the reviews are saying the drinks are the star, but I can't even give that to Blue Water. If they want to stay afloat and make it to a new year, they better make large changes to 1) the size of their kitchen, size of their staff, and bartenders who are familiar w/ drinks outside the comfort of Blue Water's little menu of special mixed drinks. read more

This is a great spot! Tucked out of the way with a cool vibe. You can feel the owners passion for their craft and it comes through in the excellent spirits they serve. I enjoyed my cocktail and the decor. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five is because the service to get our drinks was swift but then we waited about 30 minutes for someone to take our food order. However, the minute our glasses were empty we got a prompt "would you like another drink". I think the oversight had more to do with not enough staff and not because of lack of desire to serve. read more

We were on our way to Italian food, but I was easily swayed into checking out Bluewater with the words, cool-new-local ORGANIC-Chef's Menu. Bluewater definitely was the best choice. The space is gorgeous, the staff is on it and the food was impeccable. I am however a little bent that they made meatloaf better than my own. So this isn't a place that I would normally eat at as I'm not big on artisan food, but we were there to find a venue for our Christmas party so it made sense to try the food. I got their version of a grilled cheese, and it was delicious. There were two cheeses on it, plus bruschetta, and it really was just awesome. It was accompanied by a nice salad with a house made vinaigrette dressing, grapes and more cheese. Wanting to take a complete food tour, I also indulged in their pear & apple crisp, which was also excellent. What made the experience better was the bartender. Personable, knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely going to have to bring my S/O here for a date night. read more

Finally got a chance to try the lounge/restaurant/place of awesomeness (we don't live so close anymore so haven't made it back until now). W.O.W. Best mixed drinks we've ever had. Bartender was on it! Meat and cheese appetizer was excellent - I had been hesitant to order since it was $18, but you get what you pay for. My only gripe would be that the $22 crab cake "meal" seemed more like an appetizer. Three cakes on a tiny bed of mixed greens. Now it was terrific stuff but just not a full meal. Fun place for really great drinks but I have a bit of a beef. The section we were seated in (not sure if it's the "bar" or if we were seated there because we were a large group) is not an area where we were allowed to order from the full food menu. We were limited to the three items on the appetizer menu which consisted of bread and butter, a Charcuterie plate and something else. I asked if I could order a bowl of the salmon chowder and our server said she'd have to check with the manager. She came back and said the manager said I could have a bowl, but no one else at the table would be allowed to. What? Why? It's soup ladled into a bowl for Pete sake. If you're going to serve great drinks, why would you not want your patrons to have more filling choices to help avoid them getting overly tipsy? And why wouldn't you want to encourage hungry people to stay at your place with a better food selection? Oh yeah, better outdoor signage would be really helpful, the place is really tucked away in a corner of a parking lot near the waterfront. We really enjoy going to Bluewater. The cocktail menu is incredible. All of the drinks are handcrafted and many of them have fresh herbs. The menu is very small and limited which can be a good thing since the food comes out quickly. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten there but I've never been wowed by any of the food.
