Went there last night with the wife and friends. Our original intent was just Happy Hour but ended up also ordering from the main menu. The vibe is good, kind of like an underground restaurant would be back in the day. Service was very good; very attentive. The food is really overpriced however for what you get. The HH menu is good and that seems to be the better deal vs. dinner. Drinks were OK but they really need more tap beers than just pouring from a can. That's really weak for such a pricey place. Very disappointing. I had the chicken remoulade which was very overpriced for the quantity of food. It consisted of a single "smallish" chicken thigh with cauliflower and sauce. It was tasty but not at all filling. It needed more sauce as well. The ladies had a couple salads and yes they were overpriced for what you got. If you go, just stick with the HH menu and you won't be disappointed. We came for the happy hour since I saw they had a pretty big menu with lots of options. The food was really good and some items were unique and fun. The chicken yakitori was my favorite. This is my third time visiting 16 Eleven and it has been a pleasant experience each time. It's the perfect place for an anniversary, birthday, or another celebration. The restaurant is very spacious and the tables are spaced out fairly. I like the dim lighting which adds to the ambiance. They are known for their steaks so it's a must. You can choose your sauce and sides come separately. I recommend trying some of their appetizers. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, peach salad, and fries. Their cocktail selection has a variety and they are all very good. I'm sad that this wasn't a 5 star experience. Swanky dining is one of my favorite activities and I was so excited Everett got this new place. The interior is gorgeous! The front desk staff was kind and accommodating. The wait staff was underwhelming and inattentive, which wasn't awful just "meh" like the rest of the experience. The food was underwhelming. I will start by saying we ate here in the summer and I am ever so hopeful that their menu changes some seasonally. We ordered the calamari appetizer. It was crispy and tender, but the sauce accompaniment was thin liquid at the base of the plate. All the calamari pieces sitting on the bottom of the stack were soggy and over saturated in the pretty intensely flavored sauce. I'd rather have dip. My husband ordered the beef Wellington which came with dressed kale and cute summer carrots. The beef was fine, nothing special. The kale and carrots were sad because it's just not a good pairing for a beautiful beef dish. It needs a puree or mash! But this is where I'm hopeful the beef Wellington comes with mash or something of substance in the fall or winter!! The carrots were pretty undercooked and lacked seasoning. I ordered the seafood risotto. It was good but didn't have cheese in the risotto...and I'm well aware that cheese and seafood are usually not a match but when I order risotto I expect parm in the rice. The texture reminded me of rice a roni a bit. The seafood was well cooked and overall it had good flavor. I also want to note that we went here for our anniversary, which I noted on the Open Table reservation. Because this is a nicer restaurant, my expectation is that little details like that are noticed but it was not acknowledged. The server asked us if we had any fun plans and I said it was our anniversary. She said awww that's fun congratulations. Little touches can make experiences much more special. Missed many marks...16Eleven was on my list to try for a while, but I'm sadly disappointed. My husband made a reservation for Valentine's Day and I had high hopes because they had a sign on the door saying they were fully booked for the night. I loved the ambiance of the place (except for the mounted taxidermy heads hanging on the walls); it was moody and romantic with an old school vibe, however, that was about everything I loved. Service was okay but for the type of fine dining they're trying to accomplish, it didn't impress. We started with the filet mignon beef tartare that didn't have any flavor and the prosciutto wrapped scallops which barely had a sear on them. Main dishes had great potential and we quite enjoyed the Wagyu bavette steak which was cooked perfectly (although under seasoned), but the mushroom risotto was so salty that we had to drink a sip of water after every bite. We didn't want to send our food back because it had already taken awhile to bring out and we also had to wait for silverware while staring at our main dishes for a few minutes, due to poor timing of our server clearing the old silverware and the kitchen bringing out the food. We were there for about 1.5 hours but ate for maybe a total of 15 minutes. We ended up asking for boxes and ending dinner early, forgoing dessert so that we could go elsewhere, because I didn't want to end the night here. Wanted to like this place more than we actually did. Inside the restaurant is super nice and spacious. Got a few things on the menu that interesting. There was four of us that had dinner last night. Two of us ordered the mushroom risotto with chicken added. And two of them ordered the salmon dinner. The chicken was extremely rubbery and way too chewy. Salmon was cooked perfectly with lots of moisture. Dessert we order the sorbet and the duo cheesecake. Sorbet was an interesting flavor and the duo cheesecake was two tiny pieces. Drinks were just ok. Two them ordered the rye cocktail and one ordered the purple people eater. She said it tasted like couch medicine. Not a good way to describe her drink. And she also ordered coffee that took 30 minutes to get to our table. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Our visit was for lunch. The ambience of the room is in amazing. A very open space with Edison hanging lightbulbs filling the room. The light reflecting off the marble tables is a sight to see. The service was first rate. Katie worked with us and she was all smiles and helped us through the menu. The food was delicious..to say the least. The biggest distraction of our experience was the random diming of the lights. We were told that due to the old building, when the dishwasher is running, the lights dim. The only suggestions we had for the food was for the Ribeye entree. A veggie side dish would make it perfect. Also, for the Gespacho. It was definitely missing bread or something equivalent. We were early for our reservation, so we had a cocktail in the lounge. Our server was fine - but when our table was ready, it got weird. She wanted to wait for her to cash out, but then we ended up going to our table after awkwardly waiting... then she came over to cash us out. I understand settling one bill first, it was just handled strangely. Anyhoooo... we sat in a lovely booth, and our new server, Katie, was incredible!! She was so engaging, helpful, nice and just the best!! Unfortunately, only one of the mains stood out and that was their grilled heritage pork chop. Menu otherwise was non-distinguishable from other similar cuisine (American) and caliber restaurants. Attentive waitstaff and there weren't a lot of other customers. Great place to meet up in secret with your mister or mistress. The only thing we enjoyed was the sorry I'm latte (espresso) martini. Service: We were in a large group and some of us arrived before our 5p reservation. We didn't leave there til after 7! It took about 35 minutes to receive drinks, then 30 min to get our appetizers. Another 35 to get our dinner. And same amount of time to get dessert to us. Wondering how I know this? I base it off the time stamp that I took pictures of our food. A lot of the smaller parties who arrived after us got their food and drinks well before us. Not cool. As for our check, a party of 2 was a total of $185! We got 4 espresso martinis ($17/ea), tenderloin bites ($19), Berries and Burrata salad ($15), and the 16Eleven burger ($30). All of that was $132, plus tax and automatic service charge of 20% was $185 and some change. Food: It seemed like they used the same sauce on the filet mignon, tenderloin appetizer, and the steak frites entree. My boyfriend's burger was served with a burnt and crunchy bun. No bueno...the fries were good. The burrata and berries salad I got had bruised strawberries and mushy blueberries. The sticky toffee pudding was more like a loaf of banana bread with caramel sauce. I didn't try the lemon tarte, but one of the gals in our party said the lemon custard was sweet and panna cotta was tart. Just not what she was expecting. Also her small tart was served in a huge plate with nothing else on it. It was so odd. Her husband got chocolate mousse which was very small, served on a small plate, and dusted with chocolate powder. My steak tenderloins was yummy but way too saucy. It was like steak cubes in brown gravy, not Demi glacé sauce. My friend got the Hanger Steak au poivre frites (basically steak and fries). She asked for it to be well done and it came out burnt. Wonderful and romantic spot for dinner. We ate here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Servers were great and really added to the amazing experience. The love piano playing was perfect too! Beautifully crafted cocktails. Delicious food. Only thing we didn't like and couldn't eat was the ahi tuna sushi. The good: the atmosphere is incredible and they've come a long way since their soft-opening. The pasta dish was delicious. Presentation of the food is outstanding. The bad: the Cauliflower Tempura was pedestrian and tasted like something from a chain restaurant. The ugly: I ordered the 8 oz Pan-seared Filet (medium-rare) because the server told me that they're a steakhouse and that's what they specialize in. The first steak came out medium-well. The second came out medium--not great for a steakhouse, especially a steakhouse that wasn't busy (there were only 3-4 tables seated). The servers were energetic and had a positive attitude, making communication easy. I have always given this place a rave review. First the still good parts. The only place in our area that compares with places in NY or Europe. I had a Desert Sky cocktail & the Lemon Raspberry Bar....both excellent. The waitress said I could have asked for more topping but that is not the point. Why would you serve this with so little topping & have to ask for more? Almost every tavern has 'loaded' baked potatoes at a 1/3rd of the price & you don't have to ask for more topping. We had a party of 6 and everyone was served their dinner except for my man (who had just ordered the crab cake dinner) After everyone was served except him, she came back by and we had to inquire where his food was....The waitress was pretty dismissive and was oh sorry "there was a mistake -it will be out shortly" a good 20 minutes later she brought his plate out - no other apology or explanation. i probably would have rated higher if that had not happened, was definitely not impressed by the level service at all, and the experience of one person in a party not getting their order with the rest of the table is not acceptable. read more

This is a great new upscale steak house in downtown Everett in the bottom of the recently reopened Arts and Culture center. In recent years Everett isn't the place one fist thinks of for upscale dining, but that keeps changing. This restaurant is serving epic food in a dark and swanky atmosphere. It's a great spot for a special occasion, special date, business dinner, or just celebrating the day. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding, including the caviar appetizer.
