We go just about every Friday night and enjoy the amazing servers as much as we love the food they offer (there are a few of their staff in particular that feel like family). We love Trails End so much that there was no other choice for us when choosing the caterer for our daughter's wedding. My only negative comment is that they only offer their bacon wrapped dates on their catering menu - I would go there daily for that alone! All that said, they are #1 for us! read more

We came here as a late Mother's Day celebration - a party of 7. I'd made the reservation for 6 people but forgot to update the restaurant so they needed a few minutes to find a table that would work. The manager was very nice and super helpful and what could have been a big problem on a very busy evening turned into a few minutes of waiting outside on a sunny day. The food was good (WOW - especially the Parmesan Artichoke dip. I expected it to be the usual, creamy dip you get everywhere but this had a hit of garlic that made it SPECTACULAR.) But the BEST part of the evening was our server, Brenton. He was funny, kind, very good at his job, checked in with us at exactly the right times and just generally made the evening a great one. Am rating 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1) They have no gluten free options. Not a GF bun, bread., pasta nor pizza dough. I understand not having many, but to have no GF choices is just not great these days. My husband with celiac disease had very few options. 2) Need more and reservable outside seating. Especially on the beautiful days (like this one was) - having to sit inside was a big bummer. They had more tables outdoors but we were told those were waiting areas and that we couldn't eat there. I ordered the Ruben and it came with a side salad, I got my food and realized it was just half of a sandwich, which wouldn't be a big deal except it was $28!!!??? $28 for half of a sandwich is insane. I also ordered the macaroni, it not only lacked salt and flavor but the noodles were way too firm like they hadn't been cooked all of the way. Good portion size for the price at least. Brussel sprouts were good. The jalapeño poppers were bland, smelled spicy so it's a big disappointment. Mostly bacon bits and cream cheese and the jalapeños themselves were very tiny. If you're looking for jalapeño poppers that are high quality, go to Matador in Ballard If you're trying to waste money on bland food or over pay for half a sandwich, you have found your place!! EXCELLENT SERVICE! I walked in around 430 asking to sit on the patio and he said there were some reservations but would try and fit me in. No problem. We went this weekend out as a family and stopped here! The staff and our server Brenton were very nice and welcoming and he exceeded expectations, very wonderful and charming! He helped us with any questions we had and although they don't have any gluten free alternatives currently, hopefully they get some soon. Our food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. This seems to have become my regular spot right before prom season. I've gotten the salmon dish twice, the one with the dill sauce and both times I have been very satisfied. The sauce is so yummy and creamy, but I would warn you to take a Lactaid before if dairy is something that bothers you. I also warned you that to get extra sauce. The atmosphere here is classic American. A lot of dark wood, beer, and white people. I really liked the fire pits outside, which came in handy when we needed to wait to be seated on a Friday night. We were sat upstairs which I ended up hating because there were two large groups that were loud AF. Not the restaurants fault. We got this salmon spread that was really delicious, and my SO liked his meat dish... which did have a delicious mushroom gravy. However, my pizza sucked. It had a weird flavor profile that I flat out didn't enjoy, so I didn't eat it. The food is also on the pricier side so that was extra disappointing. Monday night dinner with my Mum to watch the NCAA March Madness Finale. We shared a 6 oz filet and a pizza. We enjoyed the steak - good cut of meat and the broccoli. The mashed potatoes were very thick so would pass on those in the future. The pizza we asked to be cooked a bit extra which was perfect, glad we did. We left with 1/2 a pizza leftover. Trail's End is easily the best restaurant in a 10-mile radius, and maybe a top restaurent in the Seattle Metro. Stop what you're doing and go there, now. You've found what you're looking for! I've been going to Trail's End Taphouse for about 10 years now, and they've always been top-tier food... with an unwavering ability to be consistently excellent. I've eaten in the restaurant and gotten takeout an uncountable number of times. Had lunch... had dinner... They have a varied and quirky American food menu -- salad, steaks, pizzas, sandwiches, pasta... etc... and the dessert is SERIOUSLY TOP TIER. These are not throw-away desserts, but simple and excellently done. I don't know how they do it. My favorite thing about Trails End is that they post their monthly specials on Instagram around the beginning of the month every month -- with excellently done photos that make you drool, and they're always interesting and new... not remixes on their current ingredients, but like... pushing boundaries and making actually seasonal food. For my family, it's like that meme "hey babe, Trails end posted their specials"... and we drop everything and look. The food highlights for us are the pizza, sandwiches, and mac and cheese. The pizza is wood-fired and they use incredibly good ingredients -- the cheese blend and pepperoni are the stars. Probably 80% of the time we go here, my wife gets the mac and cheese - it has an excellent, balanced mix of different cheeses and you can add protein (but it really doesn't need it). The sandwiches are always amazing, too. One odd thing is that you'd expect this place to have burgers and fries, and they don't. It's weird someone would knock them for this -- since they don't claim to be a burger place. I understand the impetus to be annoyed, though... because they are the best restaurant, could be serving a great burger, and THEY DO MAKE an incredible burger (as a special)... but I assume it either doesn't make sense for them or they just don't want to be pigeon-holed into being another burger place. Fair in any case. You really don't need a burger when there are so many flavorful sandwich options... or just wait for a special to pop up and get one. You won't be disappointed. read more

We took the family here for dinner after swimming at the aquatic center across the street. First time trying their menu and we all loved it. The pizza was awesome and the French dip was phenomenal. Chicken tenders were juicy and the ranch was home made. The service was very friendly and fast. The waitress was amazing and always checked on us and got us lots of drinks. Well this month they have Bloody Marys and Espresso Martinis in addition to more numerous than typical special food dishes. I love that they use hyper-local Skip Rock spirits and Ashley had the rad idea to incorporate a little maple syrup as a nod to Trails' Maple Ave location...clever! The other star to my day was the Tri-tip sandwich. OMG...if this was added to the main menu, I legit would never order anything else! My quest for "The Perfect Trail's End Special" has officially ended. The beef was so tender and perfectly sliced...the avocado was fresh and even the pickled onions stood out. This was literally the most perfect balance of flavors, without being over the top. The buttery Macrina bun made this absolute perfection. While visiting my daughter and her family took the grandkids here for dinner. My daughter said that this was a pretty good place. When we got there the hostess said it would be about a 10 min wait. Which it was. We were brought to our seat and asked if we wanted something to drink. I wanted a beer so I got an African red which was tasty. Kids got water and then we waited for around 5 to 10 minutes. I waved our server down told her we're ready to order. Grandson got a cheeseburger with homemade chips, granddaughter got the kids chicken fingers with fruit and I got a Caesar salad and added grilled chicken. We received our meals and they looked pretty good. My chicken was cooked perfectly, my salad was not very good. Some of the lettuce was wilted and croutons looked good but they were chewy. Never had chewy croutons before. The dressing tasted like it was watered down. Very disappointing. It's too bad, it's a nice bar with tv's around so we could watch the World Series. We were welcomed as we entered the restaurant. It was very loud but the restaurant was very welcoming. I was told there would be a 25 min wait. We stood around a while as I watched an empty table that was not in use. After 25 mins the young man seated us at that empty table. We order the Steak Sandwich and the Smoke Bomb sandwich. The Smoke Bomb had smoked Gouda and it was so strong that my husband couldn't taste anything else. He was very disappointed. I had the Steak Sandwich it was amazing. It was cooked perfectly. The chips on our plates were burnt. I pointed it out to the waiter and he even said I agree and ordered us more. Why were the burnt chips even served? Originally my partner and I were gonna go to a local brewery but since we just happened to notice this place across the street from the Snohomish Aquatic Center we said "why not?". We were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, food, and libations. My favorite has to be the Haystack Hefeweizen but everything else was good too! They can do flights, which is how I came upon liking said Hefeweizen, I also tried the African Amber, Boundary Scotch Ale, and Veltins Pilsner. Had a lovely dinner on their dog-friendly outside patio after a nice hike. They have a large tap list with a wide variety of beers and four ciders on tap. We started with the garlic parm chips which were so delicious! The chips are super thin and most were super crispy though some did get a bit softer from the garlic and parm which provided a nice contrast of textures. They loaded the chips up with the garlic and parm; I can still taste the garlic the next morning. lol. I was so happy it wasn't like some places that only put the toppings on top. These had so many layers and layers mixed in, there wasn't a bite that didn't have toppings which is awesome! My husband had the French Dip sandwich which he loved so much and said was one of the best he's ever had. I got the Gatherer veggie sandwich which was great. The bread was perfectly toasted which added a slight melt to the delicious herbed cream cheese. The veggies all tasted fresh and provided a good mix of textures and flavors. What a great location. But the lack of competition means that they can get away with a lot. On this instance, getting a seat was difficult in spite of the presence of numerous empty tables. At first there was to be a 15 minute wait but when I questioned it, we were begrudgingly seated. The ordering process was chaotic. Different people kept arriving at the table and being unaware that the previous person had just walked away with drink or food order. The food was just ok. Not a lot of good vegetarian choices. You've asked staff who are simply a pull & pour type folks to now become actual bartenders. It's not working. Please offer some training, a recipe, something...to help your team out. My friend wanted to come here to celebrate her birthday because she said she'd been craving their garlic bread bites for a month. I had the beet salad and we also shared the meat lovers pizza. For beverages. I had a beer flight and she had a wine flight. The beet salad was wonderful, albeit a little heavy handed on the onions but they were easy enough to eat around. Our server, a bearded fellow whose name I didn't remember to ask, was super friendly and knowledgeable about the draft list. We had a superb experience at Trails End. I also love that they are family friendly. I can't wait to come back with my family. The beer and wine did NOT disappoint. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the meat lovers pizza would more accurately be described as a meat-likers pizza. The bacon was in the form of bacon bits sprinkled over the top. We came as a family to eat here. My dad seriously hates sitting next to bathrooms for some reason so we had to hear him complain about that the whole time but he enjoyed his beef stroganoff. He did say it had a lot of onions, more than it should have. I really enjoyed the garlic bread and the presentation. My pasta was pretty good, it could have had more of a kick to it spice wise but rather enjoyable and the presentation looked like that chicken lost the fight haha. Tasted well though.
