Best wedding band ever- you cannot go wrong. I chose BWK after hearing them play at a couple friends' weddings- me and my now husband realized that our favorite 3 weddings we had been to together had one thing in common: Bluewater Kings Band. Booking them was an easy process and then pretty hands off until closer to the actual date, which was really nice because you have so many things to think about in the interim. I was nervous about the phone call with Shai a couple of weeks out, because I felt really behind when it came to music and selections, but Shai made me feel totally at ease and jotted down notes of my vague likes and dislikes and reassured me she would take it from there. As I made important dance song selections, she was really easy to email with and I even asked if they could cut out the middle of a song for me and splice it together for my DJed first dance song and they made it happen. Bluewater Kings made our wedding what it was and it was pretty perfect. From the beginning by playing some music as guests walked in to find their seat, the MCing, Djing our first dance songs, to each and every song choice on the dance floor: they just nail it and set the tone for your event. They bring the energy and it is impossible for your guests to not be up dancing. They listened to our likes and dislikes and performed a better set list than I could have ever come up with myself. The icing on the cake was when they played a Taylor Swift song from her new album that I told them I liked as an idea for my "vibe", never expecting to hear it played by my wedding band just 1 month after its release, but it just shows you how they pay attention to things and want to make your night special for you. My husband and I hired Bluewater Kings Band for our wedding. From the planning process to the day-of performances, everything was incredible. There was a string trio for the ceremony, a jazz trio for the cocktail hour and a 7-piece band plus DJ for our reception. Corbin, our producer, provided exceptional expertise and was an invaluable resource in making sure every detail for each performance was accounted for. He worked closely with our venue to ensure all tech and equipment needs were met. All band members we interacted with during our wedding were so kind and cordial. They were prompt in arriving to the venue for sound check and were quick and professional with setting up/loading out. The reception performances were fantastic. There were guests on the dance floor from start to the very last song. Switching between live sets and the DJ was seamless. Announcements made by the emcee were clear and non-disruptive. There was a lot of fun interaction between the performers, specifically the singers and the guests. All of our guests have been raving -- even weeks later --- about how AWESOME the band was. The ceremony performances were beautiful! I so appreciate the string trio for their talent and care in playing the specific songs for the wedding processional and my bridal entrance. I attended a wedding 7 years ago and the band that the couple hired to play at their reception was unforgettable. They were so amazing that I made sure to ask the couple who they were, and jotted it down in my notes in hopes that one day when I got married I could hire them. Fast forward to 7 years later, my fiancé and I did just that. Blue Water Kings is a timeless, fun, and TALENTED band. The options to customize band size, music, and add ons are endless. We did the string trio for our ceremony, 7 piece band for the reception, and had a band member MC the night. What made the experience so special was that my now husband and I were able to choose pretty much every song that was performed. From the live music to the playlist for in between sets, Shay provided multiple song lists to choose from and gave us free range for our special playlist. The band even learned a song we requested that wasn't on the list! BWK made us feel so special. All night guests kept saying how much they loved the band, and I'm still getting sweet messages to this day about them. Bluewater Kings Band was INCREDIBLE! One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring this band. From the initial inquiry to wedding day, they were so organized and attentive. They make the whole process very seamless. Their online planning page helps keep you on track during the planning process and the band members are so flexible. They were able to play anything we asked of them! They also sang all our dances (first dance and parent dances) live. The emcee the night of the wedding pronounced every person's name perfectly and helped the whole flow of the night. One of my favorite parts of Bluewater King's Band was their ability to play so many eras and genres of music. We requested such a variety from Irish hits, 2000 country, Green Day/Blink 182, to P!NK and Olivia Dean. They played it all! Every single wedding guest was raving about the band. They are so engaging with the crowd and the dance floor was never empty. It was a must for us to have a band at our wedding. We did a ton of research and kept coming back to Bluewater Kings Band. Jessica was incredible throughout the planning process- she was organized, communicative, and thoughtful. She worked incredibly well with our day of coordinator, Jenny (check out Blue Moon Events), and our other vendors to ensure the whole day ran smoothly. She was also able to add al-a carte options that made a huge difference for our day including mics for the ceremony, speakers for cocktail hour, and even video services through a third party vendor that BWK works with (which were awesome)! We even requested that a small group of friends perform during a band break, and Jessica helped to make that dream a reality. On the day, the band was high energy and so much fun -- there's nothing like great live music! About a week and a half before our wedding, my fiance and I went through the set list BWK has on their website and chose our favorite songs (and a few we didn't care for) and they built a perfect and personalized set list around our preferences. Wow! Just wow! From the cellist and keyboard for the ceremony, to the sax and guitarist for the cocktail hour, to the INCREDIBLE 7-piece band at the reception, this Cincinnati band exceeded all our (high) expectations. First a special shout out to Jon for all his patience and organizational skills from booking to our final meeting a year later. He was patient with all my questions, efficient with the logistics and gracious in making changes along the way. The musicianship of the band members was palpable and we felt so lucky to have this live group at our daughter's wedding - and that is saying a lot from a family with several talented musicians all of whom were equally blown away. Nick handled the MC role perfectly, never over the top or being the focus, but ALWAYS on point and on time shepherding us through the evening. The band as a whole really capitalized on the energy of our guests and it wasn't long before everyone was on the dancefloor, which remained packed through the last song. We had a magical experience with the Bluewater Kings Band. It started out with Tony providing such a consultative approach - helping us understand what is right for us, our vision, and our venue. We live in Chicago and were getting married in Detroit. Tony let us know there was a showcase in Chicago where we could see the musicians play and get an idea of what we were getting into. It was such a fabulous start to the process. On the actual day of the wedding, they truly kept the party going. If they were playing, people were on the dance floor. Not only did the lead singer make my husband and I feel so special by bringing us up with him, he played to the audience and was working the crowd. It made everyone want to keep on dancing!! My wife and I had the Bluewater Kings perform for our ceremony(string trio), cocktail hour(jazz trio), and reception(7 member band). They added so much energy, excitement, and enthusiasm to each component on our wedding. We were impressed by the range of talents these musicians have and their ability to accommodate many different styles of music. Our guests loved that we had live music and we've received many compliments on our choice. The MC services correctly introduced our bridal party, fulfilled all our requests on how to start and stop the music for our special dances, and did a good job handling the bridal party speeches. The entire experience was incredible. Jacy was so helpful in the pre-planning (before we signed a contract) and planning processes. She was responsive and honest in her assessment and guidance in helping us plan our event. Coordinating the day-of load in and load out was largely done ahead of time so was not a concern of ours and we could focus on our "I do's". At the reception, the band was out of this world. We had a 7-piece band and each member was fantastic. The range the band was able to cover over the course of the night engaged all guests and hit every one of our song requests. The Band was unbelievably professional, remaining continuously available to help us plan in a manner that instilled our family with confidence as they tracked and accommodated each of our special requests. LOVED Blue Water Kings who played at my son's (and daughter in law) wedding!!! What a performance!! We first saw Blue Water Kings at a Showcase at the Cubby Bear. What sold me then was their horn section. The 3 horn players were excellent and played together seamlessly as if they had played together for a long time. The rest of the band was great as well!! We had 9 band members at the wedding: 7 musicians with the guitar also doubling as a singer, and 2 dedicated singers. They were all great (and of course the horn section was excellent!!!). You must at least check them out before deciding on your band. I strongly recommend getting 9 member with the 3 horns. Prices were pretty reasonable, relatively speaking. read more

I wish everyone could have Bluewater Kings Band at their wedding! They created the perfect vibe, even beyond what I had imagined. We had an 8-piece band (maybe 9!) and also used their lighting and DJ services, along with a 3-piece ensemble for cocktail hour. In hindsight, I would have added their videography services as well. Communication was always clear and quick, and they offer packages to suit everyone's needs. They're reasonably priced, and you DEFINITELY get more than your money's worth. Bluewater Kings Band was fabulous. I had heard them play at a wedding and was very impressed. Everybody danced. I used Bluewater for a nonprofit fundraising event. Michelle was professional and helpful. The Planning Page enabled us to choose the types of songs we wanted. The band began and ended on time. We enjoyed cocktail music during dinner. People immediately got up to dance. It was a perfect night. We had two vocalists and three brass, plus drums, bass, guitar and keyboard. One technical person was required for setup which was smooth. We loved it and received so many compliments from our friends and family on how much they loved the band.
