I'm actually mad at myself for giving this business money, but I guess that's what happens when you're in a time crunch and it's a national holiday... I went to Blume Haus yesterday, because my husband, of course, couldn't figure out what to give his mom for Mother's Day and asked me last minute to "buy her some flowers". I didn't want to get her HEB flowers, wanted to go with something fancier. Looked online, saw this place had good reviews, their website was actually updated with Mother's Day options (all the other San Antonio flower shops were not) so decided to visit the store to see how big the arrangement I was thinking of getting was. When I entered the store, at first I was taken aback because nobody that works there was wearing a mask. I don't care to be completely honest, I'm fully vaccinated, it was just the first time since the whole Covid thing started that I've seen a business take that stand. But, their business, their rules. ‍ 4 girls were there, 2 were dealing with a phone order, 1 was working on arrangements in the back room and another one was just standing there pretty much looking at the computer. Nobody asked how they could help me or anything, so I felt like I was begging for some basic customer service when I asked the girl that was just standing there about this arrangement I saw online. She seemed annoyed when I asked if I could see a "petite" arrangement just to have a better understanding of the size of it. She turned around and saw this arrangement behind her and was like "I don't know if this is it". I myself counted the roses (I read online the petite was supposed to have 16 flower) and I, the customer, told her, "yeah, I think it is, website says 16 flowers". And then the girl in the back told her "yeah, that's the petite". I mean, come on. Know your shit. I asked her if I could order it for pick up next day and she pretty much dragging her feet took my order. I told her what my last name was, she was like "Diaz"? No, I corrected her. And then I saw she typed "Diaz" anyway on the computer and asked her to correct that. Unreal. Rude, like she's not even listening to me or doesn't give a damn. She said I was all set and they were open until 7pm the next day. When I was about to leave, she said, "you know what? Can you pay now?" Again, I thought it was rude. If pre payment wasn't mandatory like she made it look like it wasn't when she told me I was all set, why did she change her mind and ask me to pay upfront? But it was actually smart of her because the way I left that place, if I hadn't pre paid for the arrangement, I probably wouldn't have gone back today to pick the flowers up. You know those situations where you can't believe how horrible it was until you're out of the place and go over everything to see if you are not over reacting? Well, I came back today to pick it up and received pretty much the same service. Like they are doing you a favor for selling you flowers. It was $93 dollars for 16 roses, terrible customer service and attitude. They won't see my masked face ever again that's for sure! read more
