I gave some stars as he had an excellent massage and that was the top priority for me. I did not know the therapists we booked with ahead of time, so had no expectation of the type of message we would receive. His therapist asked us both if we had an area to focus on and we both voiced that our shoulders could use some extra attention. He received this extra attention, so relieved he was heard. My massage was more like a gentle skin rub and very repetitive. There was no focus on a specific muscle. I would not give a poor review based on this as maybe that was her style. My only other critique during the message would have been that she did not communicate much. When directed to turn over onto my stomach the only direction I received was "I am going to lift this thing". I thought this was odd (if it was my first message that would have been confusing and uncomfortable), but I instinctively knew what she meant. Just odd. I thought maybe she was new. We were ready to leave and felt good about the experience for my husband and had no opinion of my own message experience. This is when my opinion changed. As I was walking out of the restroom, I saw the therapist that had just finished my message visibly upset with her hand over her face. Another therapist was rubbing her back and she said " I am just feeling so sick". This is when I became very uncomfortable and left. It was the only time I have ever left a message less relaxed than when I arrived! Needless to say, not the relaxing start to our date night. I couldn't shake the uncomfortable feeling. I called the manager. He said he would speak to her. I have to give credit in that he at least called back and left a voicemail. He did confirm that she was unwell but pulled herself together to take another client. He assured me not to worry that she showed no sign of fever or knowledge of contagious illness to worry about. I would have more respect if this was handled professionally. I feel she should have communicated this prior to the message and left me the decision to opt out or for her to say she was not feeling able to give a suitable message based on how she felt. Instead, she just put me in a position of her going through the motions and after hearing how she felt, I in turn felt bad for her working through that honestly. I should not have been placed in that position. It was very unprofessional for a client to witness. Based on this experience, I don't have trust to return. It's one thing for a message to fall short of a desired expectation, but another to feel like a burden and to be given a poor follow up on an uncomfortable situation that would have been more relaxing if it never happened. Update: I appreciate the response from Dietra, Serenity Owner, acknowledging that my experience was not suitable, as it was not. In fact, the manager's voicemail response indicated that the therapist was lightheaded and nauseous during. Again, I stand by that a professional approach with client experience in mind would have been to communicate that she was unwell, regardless of what, and a poor experience for all avoided.

Let's just say she did not, she completely fried my hair, she didn't even rinse the dye out. Not only that it wasn't magenta, she said she didn't have it so she tried to mix the color. I ended up with purple. they said they talk to a manager and get back to me. When they got back to me, they offered me an appointment with more experienced stylus. I went in. She tried to fix it. She couldn't. She said there was nothing she could do and she was sorry, but she didn't feel comfortable putting any more chemicals on my hair . Keep in mind I'd already paid several hundred dollars for this process. I was told a manager would get back to me they never did. i'm sure for simple styles and haircuts or color. They're probably great. But if you can't do the fun colors, just tell a customer that upfront and don't lie to them. These hairstylist had no idea how to do an ombre. The first girl actually left blotches of white in my hair from the bleach. My husband who never notices my hair actually said to me on vacation why are there big spots of white in your hair.

To clarify, the woman who did my eyebrows was an absolute doll. The owner, however, was far less than pleasant. When I arrived, I was told that there would be a short wait and the nice lady who checked me in offered to bring me a glass of wine. I declined. A few minutes later, I thought better of my choice and gestured to the owner as he passed. He sized me up with a glance as he paused to find out what I wanted. When I explained that I had changed my mind about the drink, the man rolled his eyes and perfunctorily summoned someone else to bring the drink. What I found most odd and off putting wasn't so much that he didn't pour it himself, despite our both being exactly next to the cute little bar area. No, it was the fact that he didn't so much as smile or even acknowledge me more than to hear my request and call for the help. I no longer live in the Toledo area, but if I did I would certainly not return. I don't need to spend my cash in a place where I am made to feel like a bother.
