However, before I purchase a Groupon I always contact the merchant directly. In this case, I called because it was a 50-60 minute drive from where I was coming from to take advantage of the Groupon offer. I spoke with a lady on the phone who gave me directions. Upon arrival and stepping into the MedSpa, I was greeted with, "Do YOU have an appointment?" Not a, "Hello, Welcome in, how are you today?" Just a rude, direct stare of, "Do you have an appointment?' I responded with, "Yes I do, with Christy. As she was the one I spoke to on the phone," who appeared to be friendly and willing to get me in. The lady at the front desk as I walked in gave me rude, discriminatory "why are YOU here?" vibes. I didn't think much of it until later. Just wait for it. Christy and I had a great consultation and even shared business tips to expand her business with injections since she came from a nursing background. I really liked her. However, throughout the consultation I offered to redeem my voucher before service and she insisted to do it after. During the consultation we began discussing other services and treatments that would be of interest at a later time. As we were talking we discussed how the amount of Dysport I've been getting might not have been giving me the desired results. Well, during the discussion the price increased to an additional $4?? and I immediately said, that will need to be done at a different time since I already invested $105 towards the voucher. Christy proceeded in letting me know we could split it up. So, I proceeded with ok, let's just do that! It was done in less than 5 mins and time to go. We proceeded to the desk to checkout and after redeeming the voucher Christy told me my total was $4?? (All I heard was over $400) in addition to the $105 I had already paid. I was floored, surprised, at the fact that I was under the impression we were doing an additional $70 not 70 units. It wasn't explained to me that we were doing a total of 110 units in that one time treatment. This was NOT what I agreed to. Christy saw the look on my face and explained afterwards, "No, not $70, 70 units." The work was already done. I began praying, thinking Lord, what am I going to do. Even though I had the money it was already allocated for something else. I had just paid off my credit card and reluctantly attempted to pay for it using the card. Only for it to be declined. Christy brought the price down to "last month's special" $325. However, I was still placed in a position of paying for something I had no intention on getting at that time. After calling my credit card company and they assuring me I can use the card, it still declined. After several attempts the lady from the front came and told me, if I don't pay she'll call the authorities. I couldn't believe this! Never have I been insulted, treated like a criminal, & blatantly discriminated against! Talk about adding salt to injury. I paid for the service and never looked back! Be cautious when going into establishments to get services done. Ask, ask, ask and make sure everyone is on the same page. I debated on sharing this because I'm a positive person. However, the way this was handled left me in a position to share with others because I don't want this to ever happen to someone else or anyone to ever feel the way I did. I never received a receipt of services or an apology for the misunderstanding. They got the money and lost a valuable potential customer. Companies do not value loyalty, respect, and maintaining integrity anymore

Koehn, the predecessor of Skin Cancer and Dermatology Center, who was, I believe, the first Mohs Chemo Surgeon in Colorado Springs. Dr. Koehn, a fine man and great doctor, with a huge practice, took this red head from Texas into his care. In a few years, the good doctor took Dr. Bret K. Matheson on board, a former Navy doc and already distinguished Mohs Chemo Surgeon who took on more of the skin cancer side of the dermatology practice. I say all of this to help impart the history and continuity of the wonderful, totally professional yet compassionate care I have received for close to 30 years at this excellent practice. Dr. Christopher Satori, another fine dermatologist, came into the practice from the Air Force and he was my doctor, as well. Over the years I have been so grateful I have had the finest care for this old hunter and fisherman who spent too much time outdoors without a hat or sunscreen. I have probably had 15 or 20 skin cancers removed by Dr. Koehn and Dr. Matheson, many through the Mohs surgery as they were serious, usually on my handsome face and many required not only the skill of a fine surgeon to remove all of the cancer but have the expertise and proper temperament to only remove what is necessary and close my wound with the finest plastic surgery any patient could hope for. I have earned the right to say this as I had one of the most prominent and finest plastic surgeons in Dallas close a few skin cancer operations, and I will unequivocally put Dr. Bret K. Matheson's plastic surgery skills up against any full time plastic surgeon. Not only will a patient find this dermatology practice very competent in every way, but they do it with style, grace and when Dr. Matheson says in his bio, "I love my patients" he means it. I had a deep cancer removed a few years back, from my neck late in the week, and blood began to "pool up"near the wound (gravity I guess-it happens) it was after hours on a Friday I think, and after my call, Dr. Matheson called and I think I already had his home phone number, but it was the weekend and he said "if not better soon, I am around the house this weekend and I don't want you to have to go to the emergency room so let me know and I will meet you at the office." We didn't have to do that, fortunately, but this is reminiscent of my childhood doc;s who would come to our home, if necessary. His work ethic is old school and truly monumental. He really does love his patients. I will close with this lengthy, and long overdue testimonial, by saying, I love the folks at Skin Care and Dermatology, Denise who goes back to the early days with me, part time, now and is one of the most charismatic, kind and capable nurses ever (she used to hold my hand during a tough one). She had to come out to get me six times, if I recall during an epic surgery on my face,(Mohs takes a little at a time).Echo-my scheduling buddy, and a host of others, Dr. Sartori I see at Mass, and all the other folks will give you wonderful treatment. I've been to top dermatology clinics in NYC, Atlanta, and all over the front range from the Springs to Boulder. Most places only carry one line, so the fact that they have so many, says a lot about being able to trust they are recommending the best one for your skin. As someone who has already had 12 previous treatments i understand the cost factors so I really was impressed with their pricing. Super happy actually with pricing, financing, and quality of services provided. Went back a couple days later for my first treatment and I was really surprised with how I was treated by the nurses. I normally find at chain med offices, med spas, and beauty bars workers aren't happy to be there, but everyone here seems to be happy and make the most of their time at work. It's really refreshing. Really enjoy coming here and I'm excited to be returning every 5 weeks. You know one thing a staff said to me while I was there was "we only do laser hair removal here so we do it well" and that truly just sums up everything.
