While there my experience was great and though I anticipated the pain, when we left I was not concerned. After an hour when I said my area was still hot my doctor friend, whose appointment I joined, said that was strange. We inspected and found that several strips of my skin was removed. The next day I returned to Toronto and called Accent on Beauty, they refused to return my money and offered me an in store credit, despite me saying that I did not live in Ottawa. At the time I was calling while waiting at a walk-in clinic and the owner Darlene (?) said that I would have to return to Ottawa to verify that it was her salon's mistake and not something I have done. When I offered to show her a photograph she also said that would not confirm that I did not mutilate my own crotch. I was stunned that this woman would not credit me $30 and implied that I may have intentionally ripped my skin off my body. I am part Asian and my skin scars dark. The effected area is at the seam of my pubic area and my leg and I have had to sit wide legged and lubricated with polysporon to help the skin grown back. This is the complete opposite of the sexy that i thought I would feel and will last way longer than the wax job. After all this, and all I will continue to deal with as I heal and treat my new darkened crease, I was only offered a credit to my account that I cannot even fulfill as I live in Toronto.

Salon was clean, small but welcoming. So I sat in the chair to get highlights. He told me using highlight papers (instead of highlight foils) would be "softer" on my hair, which wouldn't make a difference it's the product which causes the damage. He took nearly 2 hours to apply my highlights and left me sitting there for another 50 minutes, so a lot of my hair has been being bleached for nearly 3 hours! The cut was fine, but my hair is extremely damaged and dry now. His wife seemed to be helping him, who doesn't speak very good English and they seemed to speak their language a lot amongst themselves which is kind of strange. He was also on his phone a lot. Nice little salon, good products and Gilles is a very nice grandfather of many who enjoys speaking of his (grand)children's accomplishments. I have straight hair and he cut exactly to specification. He also was not bothered by the fact that I brought my own shampoo as I have allergies. He charged 50 for my cut and I am thoroughly satisfied.
