This was, without question, the worst salon experience I've ever had. I went to Blush Hair Salon with a photo of the haircut and color I wanted. Jen told me the only way to achieve the look was with a balayage, bringing the total to $365. I explained that $365 was outside my budget. I also explained that I understood it wouldn't look exactly like the photo without balayage, but I wanted to get as close as possible by matching the highlight and lowlight colors while keeping my existing base color. I wasn't asking for perfection--I was asking for the closest result within my budget. Instead of working with me, Jen refused to do the color because she said it wouldn't achieve the exact look. At that point, I decided I would at least get the haircut since I was already there. Unfortunately, the haircut looked nothing like the inspiration photo. The picture had textured, choppy layers, movement, and curtain bangs. My haircut had very little layering and a completely different shape. The owner eventually stepped in and agreed to do highlights and lowlights, but he also refused to use the colors I requested. He told me the blonde in the photo was "too white" and the darker pieces were "too dark," and instead chose colors that he felt would look better. What bothered me most wasn't that they couldn't duplicate the picture perfectly. It was that every compromise I suggested was dismissed. Both the stylist and the owner decided what they thought I should have instead of listening to what I was asking for. People walk into salons every day requesting fashion colors like pink, purple, blue, or green, and stylists help them achieve the look they want. I wasn't asking for anything unrealistic. I was asking for blonde highlights and lowlights in the tones shown in my inspiration photo, adjusted to fit my budget. Instead, I was repeatedly told no and ultimately given what someone else thought looked best. The final color isn't terrible, but that's not the point. When I pay for a service, I expect to be listened to. I left feeling frustrated, unheard, and incredibly disappointed. In all my years of getting my hair done, I have never experienced so much resistance over simply trying to achieve a look I wanted within a budget. read more

Had hair and makeup done for a wedding event. Moderately priced but I was blown away by the outcome! My hair and makeup were exactly how I had pictured them and the staff was friendly throughout the morning. My only (small) complaint is the services took longer than initially anticipated so building in some extra time if you can would be a must! read more

When I walked in it felt special. It's a very lovely, clean atmosphere. I had the pleasure of having Kate as my stylist. She was so personable and professional. She made me smile and knew exactly how to make me feel like a million bucks. I asked for a low maintenance curtain bang and face framing highlights and they came out beautifully! I truly fell in love with my hair more than I ever have before (and I don't say that often). Jay and Steve, the owners, are the sweetest people with a really stellar salon. Not open on Saturdays- first of all. I went for a consult at 5:15 pm and was told I would have to be there at 5 pm for an appointment. I would have to leave my job early for a hair appointment? Jessica was condescending and I was so uncomfortable I emailed and canceled my appointment with an explanation. Blush did not have the decency of a reply. Terrible customer service. Don't waste your time. Seriously- a hair salon not open on Saturdays. read more

Prom 1/2 up 1/2 down, not that complicated took 1 1/2 hour. The beautician looked like she had no idea how to wrap a piece of hair around the pony tail holder. We had a picture, but the girl didn't act like she knew how to do a smooth high ponytail .m So after talking to front desk another beautician teased the pony tail. Which really the whole thing should have been taken down and done correctly. My daughters hair looks better when she does it herself than it did for prom. I was not impressed with any of the Other hairstyles done on atleast 4 other girls there for prom. Save your $80 and go somewhere else read more

I came here looking for a shoulder-length cut with ombre highlights, plenty of pictures in hand. First of all, I felt very out of place - it was kind of awkward, and was taken to a basement-type room where a silent stylist worked on my hair. Long story short, I spent way too much money regardless of the outcome. The outcome was a haircut WAY shorter than I was comfortable with, and the ombre highlights might as well have been non-existent. For some reason the girl only put sparse highlights in the underneath layer of my hair so you couldn't even see them. I was really upset about this and I'm definitely not going back. read more

I came here today for a Brazilian and eyebrow wax (which was free by the way, they offer free brows on your first visit which is great perk) and was really pleased with everything. The salon itself looks very upscale and fancy. I usually don't like going to places like this because they make me feel ugly and un-cool for some reason, idk. However, such feelings were immediately dashed as the girls at the front desk were very down to earth, friendly, and approachable. One of them offered me a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, and quickly brought me a glass of water. Angela started with my brows and did a great job! I don't really ever get my brows done (I don't even tweeze them) as they are naturally pretty neat, but they look great now. After that was over, she took me downstairs for the Brazilian. Now, I have been going to the same place back in Rochester for years, and was afraid to try a new place in my new town, but I really had nothing to worry about. The service took about 30 minutes, and was the least painful I've ever experienced. Angela is also super nice, and I really enjoyed chatting with her. If you're nervous about getting waxed down there, it's really not that bad. I definitely recommend coming here for your first time. The prices are fair and affordable for what you're getting, so I will definitely be coming back. They offer hair and makeup, so I'll probably try out their hair cuts next. read more

Jay, the very lovely, all too modest, co-owner of Blush has curated the best pigment, longest lasting, non-drying, lipsticks, liners, gloss, blush, and foundations I've EVER tried and at 70 years old, I've tried them ALL. Jay's cosmetics could be Buck's County's best-kept secret -- everyone knows Yardley is an amazing place to live -- but the breaking news is that the finest make-up and make-up tools ANYWHERE are at Blush. Eliot is great and the only person who has cut my hair for several years. I also get my legs waxed here and it is always super pleasant. I always feel welcome and have literally shown up in sweatpants and no one ever cared. It is a small salon in a small town and parking sucks pretty much everywhere in Yardley borough because it is small so complaining about that seems a bit ridiculous. Luckily I live close enough to walk over. I love that I can book appointments online and that they are open late since I get home late from work. Great place! read more

After many months of trying to find a salon that 'fit' us, we decided to give Blush a try. I am so happy we did!! The salon itself is absolutely beautiful-very clean and well spaced so we felt totally comfortable being there. In addition to their amazing skill, Steve and Jay could not be nicer. Steve did my daughter's hair and it looks fantastic! And Jay has our brows in great shape, plus she gave my teenage daughter a makeup lesson that was simply awesome. Hair Services: I only ever had bangs trims, but they always went well. I normally went here for my Brazilian, and it was amazing. Wonderful, made you feel comfortable, and honestly not painful at all. Well worth the money to go here. My only complaint is a VERY small parking lot shared by a few other stores on a busy main street. read more

Worst experience of my life. I went in for blonde highlights with Laura yesterday. It came out purple with a purple tint. I've been getting highlights for 15 years and have never gotten a purple tint from them. I called the hair salon and was put on hold for 10 minutes then talked to one of the owners for over 20 minutes. I told her I was going on vacation and needed it fixed this morning. Her response was so cavalier-sorry but we're booked this morning. I asked if there was any way they could fit me in-call in someone, move other appointments, etc. She was like sorry, we can't do that. I explained that I have a flight this afternoon to catch-she didn't care. Her response "if you were willing to work with us, we could fix it." I am/was willing to work with you but I'm not missing a flight to have this fixed. I'm not the one who left my hair purple. The owner came across as a rude b**ch who could care less about her customers. read more

Uh yeah right..... This place is way over priced. Here's my story: went there to get my hair highlighted BLONDE. $$$250 LATER Some how my hair turned out dark brown. I'm not one to complain but my family and friends encouraged me to do so the next day. I've had the owner call me to tell me it's not their fault blah blah my hair is in bad shape. A full-service salon on Main Street in Yardley faces tough competition, four including Blush. Blush was a place I always meant to stop in, so I did so after my regular facial at The Face and Body Spa. The first thing that caught my eye was how clean and organized the storefront was. I received a warm greeting from the receptionist whom informed me of the sale on makeup brushes. The selection of hair products impressed me to the point that I considered adding a few to the makeup brushes I chose. Then I moved on to the makeup...and this is where my review begins. One of the makeup artists approached me as I glanced at the makeup pricing and the service menu. She asked if I had any questions and when I answered about the makeup, she seemed to tense. She was not at all friendly to begin with and this just confirmed it. I asked about what looked to be an eyeshadow to which she *corrected* me it was "a loose powder, multipurpose product to be used in a specific manner." Excuse me for not realizing this. But what I could not get past was how she glared at me, most likely due to my red face. Picking up on this, I politely mentioned that I just had a facial and to excuse the redness. Any person in the beauty industry knows what an esthetician is and what they perform; she, on the other hand, wrinkled her nose and brushed me off with, "Anyway, you would need a consultation as these products are very specific and vary in price" *points to the price list*. Her coworker, a hairstylist, popped over, breaking the awkwardness, only she shooed him away that she was "fine". He was more who I wish I was talking to instead of someone whom regarded herself so above a potential client. To the redheaded makeup " artist": If you haven't noticed, your colleagues are making money while your chair remains empty. Had I not been pressed for time, I would have gladly sat down in your colleague's chair and dismissed your polarizing attitude. You couldn't sell me this product nor your (dis)service if you threw a gimmicky statement out there! While it's a shame a seemingly quality establishment's image has to be continually tarnished by one individual, Blush will never hold a candle to the likes of Natalie & Co., Face and Body Spa, or Pure Eco-Wellness Salon and Spa. read more

Since my waxing experiences with Angela have been so great, I recently went back to get my hair cut by Elliot and I am so happy that I did! From the second I sat down to when he walked me upstairs, he had my laughing and constantly engaged. I'm not someone who likes to just sit in silence when I'm getting my haircut, so I was glad he kept the conversation going, and with more than just talking about the weather. As soon as I sat down he was giving me advice on all of the things I had issues with, even without me telling him. He definitely knows what he is doing. After he was finished, he gave me great information about how to keep my thin/wavy hair healthy and manageable and even suggested some products without being super pushy about getting them at the salon. I am not sure what the other reviewers were talking about, but there has been the same hairdressers for years. Steve the owner is an amazing colorist (ahem Philadelphia Magazine voted the best). You'll be hard pressed to get an appointment, but if you do, he sets the color up and puts it in the computer. He trains each stylist and colorist. I had him set up my color, and I have someone else do the touch-up - not a bad deal, cannot complain! Dana and Lea are both amazing and detail-orientated stylists. You will always get an amazing head massage when you get hair washed. I never had a bad color - never had a bad cut. The stylists are trained. As for parking - yes the parking in the front is limited and thus people, you can park in the back lot. read more

Got an airbrush here for prom and looked terrible. Shoulders, hands, and armpits were completely white while my legs and arms were streaky.

This review is only for my spray tan. I did not have any other services here. My feet and palm of my hands are orange. I like a dark tan for vacation and asked for advice. Orange wasn't part of the advice. I spent two days scrubbing it off. Terrible. read more

My experiences with Blush prior to this most recent week have been good however this week I had booked a hair and make up appointment for my engagement photos several weeks in advance. When I had received a voicemail to call and confirm my appointment I called them back that day to confirm my appointment with Laura only to awkwardly be placed on hold and then be told she was no longer there along with my make up artist, when I requested a back up I was also familiar with I was told he was no longer there as well. Leaving me to figure out less than 24 hours before my engagement photos who and how to get my make up and hair done, I just felt like I wasn't a priority as a future bride in this most recent experience. I drove all the way to blush because of the hospitality and service provided to me by Laura that she was instantly my favorite. If anyone knows where Laura is now working or how I could get ahold of her I would greatly appreciate it ... yours truly one upset bride. i have mixed experiences with Blush. Some months back I started to visit Blush for European facials. Rebecca, their beautician, is in my opinion very good and extremely professional. Due to this positive experience I decided to have my hair done there. What a disaster! My hair is not the easiest which is why I asked for a senior stylist and was assigned to Dana. On Saturday I spent 3 hours in the salon to have a single color process and hair cut. In the salon I saw the color was much darker and likely too dark for my complexion. Once I got out into the sun and saw my reflection in my car mirror I saw that my color had a metallic mahogony glow and looked cheap and gaudy. I touched up the color to hide the redness and then reported the situation on the Tuesday (after the holiday weekend) to Blush. Firstly they agreed to correct the color free of charge and made an appointment for me. Later I received a call to say they would not honor this due to the fact that I had alterd the color further and it would be "too difficult" - even though they had not actually seen it. After washing my hair and drying it myself it was obvious the cut was that more of an amateur than a senior stylist. I would not recommend Blush for hair as they do not honor their agreements and have at least one poor stylist. Looks like I'm going to find a new beautician also. read more

Dana is an artist with hair. I have never had anyone style or cut my hair so well. It's like visiting an old friend when you sit in her chair. They did my hair and make up for my wedding and everything was exactly as I described (and I am really bad at describing so there had to be a lot of mind reading going on). For normal cuts, correction cuts or special occasions I highly recommend. read more

My sister's wedding was this weekend and we were so disappointed with the hair and makeup services that I just had to write my first review ever. There were two hairstylists and one makeup artist to work on 8 of us, 4 of which had to have their hair redone including the bride, two bridesmaids, and the flower girl. It would've been five except we ran out of time. We had pictures of what we wanted our hair to look like and the end results did not even closely resemble the pictures. The bride asked if it her up-do could be fixed because it wasn't what she wanted and was told it wasn't fixable without taking it all apart. So she was stuck with something she didn't like. My hair was equally as terrible. I had basic curls I could've done myself with my own curling iron and to top it off I had to fix it myself. My makeup was also terrible, so bad I had to wipe it off and do it myself as I got my hair done because there was no more time. The makeup of the bride and the mother of the bride looked so plain they did not look "professionally" done. We had to ask twice for the makeup artist to add more color to my mothers makeup because she looked so washed out. All in all it was the worst hair and makeup experience we've all had and they're considered one of the best in the area. I would never recommend their services to anyone unless you like being overcharged for subpar work that you have to fix yourself and probably could've done better if you had done it yourself to begin with. read more
