Let me tell you this was the BEST salon I have been too. My stylists name was Sarah, and she made my dreams come true. I have an extremely frizzy hair type, and I wanted bangs. I ask her what she thought, and she was completely honest and down to earth. She told me it was possible with daily maintenance. After the haircut, I was astonished. No. Wanted blonde lighter hair. Told me I couldn't go that light fine. Then lightening it would be a process and I'd still look good after one dye. Turned out Grey blonde then while tearing up the manager tried to fix it by adding redder tone. Appreciated but it felt like a quick fix and yeah I said it looked good but at that point I didn't feel like crying in the salon. It had a red on my scalp which was hard to photograph. And orange yellow coppery throughout. I wanted a WARM tone as you can see in my first picture the light brings out a warmth. There were streaks that looked bad catching the light. It looked alright..maybe on someone else but absolutely not worth the money time and crying I did all the next day until I decided to go to a different salon to fix it. I think she was too young to know what she was doing. Didn't give any sort of advice at all. I feel like if we discussed what it would lighten to I could adjust the tone a bit. It was also cut too short whatever and completely straight across so I looked bad with it straightened. I also asked for layers. Did not get that -no framing at all- I had a mushroom head in my opinion. Made me give up completely and dye it back to just brown so now I've lost all my natural highlights and hundreds of $. I wouldn't recommended for dark hair girls I guess. Maybe it's a place for young blondes. Go to Vaughan Diann instead. Over it. read more

Bottom Line: Delightful and talented staff making customers feel good in a cozy hair salon. I started going to Blush Hair Studio when my long time stylist relocated there. As of February 2023 the hair studio is located inside of Symmetry Salon Studios. Symmetry, from what I can tell, is a collection of smaller independent salons, cosmetologists and such serving diverse clientele which I think is pretty neat. Blush Hair Studio has a laid back vibe which I appreciate. The studio itself is very cute and has a few shampoo bowls and maybe six to eight styling stations. The waiting area is in the middle of the salon so you feel like you're hanging out in someone's living room. I've only personally received services from one of the Blush's stylists but from looking around on my visits I can tell everyone is talented and professional, I don't think you can go wrong at Blush. Blush is a thriving salon and they will soon be moving to a new location in Annapolis on Salomons Island Road. read more

I'm not an emotional crier, but this experience was everything to me. I recently moved to the area and finding a stylist was terrifying to me. My precious stylist had been with me since 2006 and my hair means a lot to me. In 2021, I lost my hair to cancer and it was the hardest experience. After moving here, I did a few consults, went to a different salon, and although highly rated, had a really awful experience. Started over and that's when my journey with Makenzie started. Blush Salon was a joyful, comforting, and wonderful experience from start to finish. I called the salon and asked for a blonde specialist and Makenzie was recommended. I made the appointment for a consultation and really appreciated her genuine interest in my story, knowledgeable expertise, willingness to read a message from my previous hairdresser with what she used to do for me, and asked me great questions about my hair care and process. I felt like we would be a great match and I was right. She explained how she would do a color correction for my hair without damaging my hair. Hair health is very important to me. I scheduled my appointment with her and again, it was everything I needed and more. She spent time going through every section, was precise, and walked me through every step that she was doing. I know many salons and stylists have different procedures, but I really loved that she was the one with me from start to finish. I realized that's something I prefer in a stylist. I got my hair done by Dae. She was great! She gave me a perfect style and I came back and got a color match to a cheap synthetic hair extension I liked from aliexpress -- it was almost perfect which was saying something. Plus the girl who washed my hair did a great job. The salon itself is cute and updated. It seems to take a younger crowd clientele which is good for the area, since there are a lot of salons that work with primarily middle age/older clients. That's not a bad thing, but younger people may struggle finding salons in the area that will really know the trendy styles with young people. I will definitely come back whenever I need a haircut, style or color. read more
