It's unfortunate to spend over $500 and receive poor quality results while also being treated unfairly. What made the experience even more disappointing was specifically asking for a stylist with extensive experience, only to be assigned someone with about a year of experience. We were genuinely excited to work with this salon, but the level of service and professionalism fell far short of our expectations. When we raised concerns and asked about a refund, we felt dismissed rather than taken seriously. Thankfully, there are other salons that stand behind their work and treat their customers with respect. I hope others don't have to go through the same experience we did. I debated for over a year before deciding to write this review because I genuinely wanted to have a great experience. I was excited to book with Tiffany. As the owner with over 30 years of experience, I felt confident paying premium prices for her services. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. During my appointment, I was left sitting under heat lamps while Tiffany worked on her mother's hair. I specifically asked her not to apply a second toner because my naturally curly hair is very sensitive to chemicals. I expressed my concerns, but she reassured me it would be fine. By the end of the appointment, my hair had lost its curl pattern and was severely damaged. Over the following months, most of my hair broke off. Fourteen months later, it still feels like straw despite spending well over $1,000 trying to repair the damage from the $400 service. The damage was so severe that I haven't trusted another stylist with my hair since. To make matters worse, my haircut was uneven, with one side approximately two inches shorter than the other. It's incredibly disappointing to pay that much for a service and leave with hair that was chemically overprocessed, unevenly cut, and damaged beyond repair. I had high expectations based on Tiffany's experience and reputation, which made the outcome even more disheartening. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Blush Salon. When I expressed that I wasn't happy with the outcome of my hair, I felt that my concerns were dismissed rather than listened to. I requested a refund, but it was denied. What upset me the most was my interaction with the salon owner. I felt the conversation became hostile, and I was uncomfortable when they laughed during the discussion. I also didn't appreciate comments made about another stylist's professional opinion. Instead of feeling heard or respected as a customer, I left feeling embarrassed and disappointed. Based on my personal experience, I would not return or recommend this salon. I am new to town and I had absolutely no reference for where to get my hair cut... I turned to YELP for help and made an appointment at Blush. The receptionist was kind, answered my questions and didn't seem to rushed or bothered by my call. She was able to fit me in that day with a hair dresser, Shelley. Before Shelley could cut my hair, she had a young girl named Whitney straighten my hair. They only do dry cuts at this salon.... Which I didn't know existed. :) Afterwards Shelley and I had a consultation. This is why I give this place 4 stars. Shelley really listened to my concerns and asked questions to get me to really consider my decision-- because the length I was going for would be a major change. So she prompted me with "How much time will you be willing to spend styling?" And "Can you see yourself returning every 4-6 weeks to maintain this length?" She didn't want me to regret the decision and end up with hair-regret. In the end, we decided on an a-line bob... And it turned out super cute! I just really admire Shelley for not just rushing through her clients but spending time before chopping! :) I ended up having 10+ inches cut off and they made it easy to donate. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because after my cut I had an AMAZING head massage during my hair washing but woke up the next day with a bruised scalp. The girl washing my hair went a bit to deep and left me with bruises behind my ears and on my neck. :( I am sure if I would have said something she would have softened up. I felt lucky to be given Cassidy, an Aveda-trained stylist, for my hair appointment, today. She was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, took time to listen, and gave the best scalp massage, ever. Besides Cassidy's great service, the salon itself is beautiful. In a historic building with a tin ceiling, the decor is elegantly sparse. Big windows give great light, and great people watching. Prices were very reasonable, too, given the level of service. I have already booked my next appointment. read more

Absolutely without a doubt the worst salon I've been to. I prefer the beauty college to them. They have awful customer service and don't listen to what you have to say, and are grossly over priced for the service. I wanted a single blonde streak in my hair (If/when they read this, they will certainly remember me because my request was so "odd"). I was treated like I was a weirdo for such a simple request. I had to go back FOUR TIMES to get my streak corrected, because they were so taken aback and literally had no idea as to how to go about doing it. I even showed them pictures. After my second and unsuccessful appointment, I tried to go get it corrected at another salon, but they couldn't because their bleach melted my hair because of the color Blush used on it. So I went back for the third time hoping would be a charm. Unfortunately, it came out 10x worse! The girl who did my hair, Megan, was pretty short with me and the rudest girl I ever had touch my hair. And she destroyed it. She made my single streak into a small patch of crappy highlights. I was so pissed, and left that way. I went back fourth time and got Shelley. She was amazing and salvaged Megan's horrible attempt at a single blonde streak. And fixed it for FREE! And I got a really nice cut I loved Shelley so much, I decided to give them one last try. I was going to pick up my boyfriend from the airport and decided to get my haircut and my streak touched up. Shelley was out of town, and I ended up with Megan again... I tried to be optimistic about it, but it was a horrible experience. I pinned off the streak to get touched up to make it mistake proof for her. While she colored it she asked me in a condescending tone "So... Does your boyfriend like your streak?" Does it matter? I was just polite about and said "yeah". She was also very condescending about the fact my boyfriend and I met online. I then got my haircut. I said I was thinking about getting bangs and she said "I wouldn't do that." I was so pissed and she hardly did anything to my hair. The appointment cost me a whopping $130. I was so annoyed I just paid and got the heck out. When I got home I realized based on the pricing, it shouldn't cost as much as it did. It should've been $104. I called and told them about the error, and the girl on the phone said it was because they used extra bleach. Which makes NO sense as it is a friggin' streak would require more than a mini foil's worth of bleach! She told me she'd see about getting me my $26 back seeing as the extra charge was never disclosed to me. Of course, I was never refunded. I cancelled all future appointments, and I will NEVER go back. I encourage others to do the same and beware this salon! They will take your money and not listen to you! Worst hair experience ever. And I've had my whole head bleached when I asked for an ombré at the beauty college. I now go to the retreat in Corvallis and they are amazing! They listen to me and treat me like royalty. I searched high and low to find an esthatician after moving from California. I was so excited to find a salon near by that was reasonably priced. Finally! I called on a Monday to schedule a Brazilian and asked for any weeknight around 730p or anytime Saturday. The only appointment they had was Thursday at 815p. I made it work by running an errand and ended up arriving about 30 minutes early. I didn't expect to be seen right away but I also didn't expect to be waiting over 15 minuets AFTER my scheduled appointment with NO update from the staff. The service I came for should only take 15 minutes. 830 rolled around and I'm finally greeted by the esthatician who did apologize for the delay. I waited in the room a little longer than necessary but I can forgive that. The service itself took nearly 20 minutes which seemed excessive but she did a very good job, was friendly, professional and pleasant. When it came time to pay, I was charged as a first time brazilian ($49) even though I informed the gal when I scheduled my appointment that I've been waxed recently. The price difference was over $10. Needless to say I didn't leave a tip which is unheard of for me. I'll be going back in 5 weeks and I'm hoping for a better experience. read more

I started coming to Blush when it opened in June 2009 b/c the wonderful Shelley was moving here and my hair insisted I follow :) Shelly does an amazing job keeping my red color bright and my curls happy and smooth. Tiffany, the owner, has done a wonderful job creating an inviting spot with good people, it is always great to come in. I am also a huge fan of the Blush Pedicure - soak, nail/foot care, scrub, massage, paraffin dip, then polish - now including hot stone massage for the make-you-blink price of just $41. New to the area and in search of a new salon, I came armed with a picture for my appointment... the same picture I have used for my last 3 haircuts. I showed it to the stylist, she acknowledged what I was looking for and began to cut. She cut it so short in the front it looked nothing like the photo. The haircut on someone else would be nice but not me and not what I showed her. So sad, the spot was nice and I liked it initially. I'm a first time client and was scheduled with Whitney. I've been growing my hair out for over a year and have kept it one length. My hair has a nice natural wave, but it was starting to feel and look heavy so I wanted some light, long layering. Whitney did an excellent job! I used to do hair as well, so I can be rather picky about it. Her cut has enhanced my natural wave, and my hair has way more volume and life when curled. Oh yeah, and she gives the best scalp massage during the wash. Really needed that! I have had blonde hair for years, I went there to get my hair cut and died and as I sat in the chair looking at the mirror watching the stylist comb my hair as handful of my hair was literally falling on my shoulders.. The stylist used bleach for my already blond hairs over 35-40 minutes!!!! I was completely horrified as piles of my hair covered my shoulders and floor. I couldn't even brush out the front. It was breaking and split and tangled and felt like straw. I said OMG what have you done. The stylist acted as if it was my fault. I wouldn't take a homeless dog there! ZERO customer skills and still not a single apology or a solution. I not only spent a significant amount of money getting my hair fried there, I also got to spend money to get my hair fixed somewhere else. Moral of the story, if you want someone to destroy your hair, not take ownership of it, nor have any expert guidance, go to this place. Not much more to say than that! read more

OMG! This salon ROCKS! I went in 2 days ago for a perm! Scary I know! I haven't had a perm since the early 90's and was totally freaked out because of the bad experience that I had then! You know the look... that super dried out, fuzzy, hair ball, rock band look! YUCK! Well I was tired of flat hair so I decided to give it another try... Meagan was fantastic! It was a wonderful 2 hours, very relaxing, and they even gave me a Coors light! AND most importantly my hair turned out BEAUTIFUL! I will be back and I highly recommend Blush! read more

I really liked my haircut from Blush Salon. I went in unable to describe what I wanted and left with exactly what i wanted. The woman was friendly, and when they heard I'd never been in before, they gave me a tour of the facility. However: It's physically impossible to call them. I have called them over and over again and have never managed to get through. The phone rings and I end up listening to the message machine. I'm more than willing to believe it's somehow not an issue for other people, but it's extremely frustrating to have to drive down there any time I want to make an appointment. Also, the prices were different than what were listed on their website. I went in expecting to pay $30 and was surprised when I was charged for $40. On the whole, I loved the atmosphere, loved my stylist, loved the people, but was frustrated by small kinks in the system. read more

I made an appointment at Blush on a whim and was very pleased with the service and with my haircut. I had my hair cut by Megan (I'm not sure how she spells it, oops) and she did this crazy thing where she asked me specific questions about what I wanted before she started cutting. I don't know why every hairdresser doesn't do this, because she listened and gave me an excellent cut that 1.) is basically what I wanted, 2.) looks good for my face, and 3.) did not accidentally go to short. I have had my hair cut by lots of different people at lots of different salons over the last few years, but for once I am quite happy and definitely plan on going back. If someone I knew was looking for a new stylist I would send them there. Oh, and everyone was nice too. They gave me coffee. A+. read more

I was able to make an appointment very quickly, the atmosphere is beautiful and uncluttered, the stylist I had (Whitney) listened to what I wanted and looked at all of my pictures before beginning.
