I returned on March 25th for a bang trim, this time from Hannah, who also did a great job and who was very personable as well! On May 9th I went in for another bang trim, and this time I got Elena. She listened to what I wanted, and suggested a full haircut instead of a bang trim. I said yes. She gave me more layers, and I LOVE it! It would have been my forth time at this location. My first stylist had done a good job and I learned later that she would not be available sometimes. I do not know her name. The sesond time was OK with #2 stylist. The third time, I had another stylist and it was not ok as my left was not equal_of course I did not know until I came home.. This forth time, somehow, my first stylist was there. I did not understand why it was my turn but she picked up someone else. She did say something about two of us were waiting for a haircut; we could wait for the other two stylists in the salon. When I saw the list that person did put a name on the stylist column. I understand that we miscomunicated somewhere there; however, waiting time is critical and so does the selected stylist. I should have known the name of the stylist I wanted; however, at this salon before, customers just point out who they were waiting for. I just had a bad day, I think. read more

This is my absolute favorite spot to get my hair cut in Corvallis. I hate splurging on my hair and have a hard time spending $40+ for a trim, so this place meets and exceeds my needs. Best price point in town for the quality of the cuts. Even cheaper than chains like Supercuts and Great Clips-- only $11.99 + tip! Plus, the ladies are always so sweet and personable. They do an excellent job with my thick hair every time. This salon is also check-in based, so you just sign the sheet at the front and wait your turn-- no appointment needed which is really convenient for me. I've been a few times midday and have never waited more than about 15 minutes. After my name is called, I'm usually in and out of the chair in less than 20 minutes. I would definitely recommend to those who are seeking a more quality haircut than chain salons, but still want to save lots of time and money on their hair. DO NOT GO HERE FOR A HAIRCUT. Unless of course you are looking for an inexperienced stylist to just shave your head. Then this is the place for you! Butchered my hair do to inexperience or just lack of skill. This is by far the worst hair cutting experience in Newport Oregon. I have a simple haircut called "Undercut no fade". My hair line was established and even. My length on the top is 8" and my sides cut with a #1 straight no fade. I had my hair cut two week so it was not over grown. The Stylist was in a hurry and not paying attention and ran the clippers up my head taking out a large chunk of my length. She tried to convince me that she was following my natural hair line but could not explain the new " V " shaped indent I had on one side and not the other. read more

I called the salon to find out their protocol and was told no appointment necessary and it was walk in, sign in, wear a facemask and I could get a haircut for $11.99. I was so happy to find a place that offers reasonable pricing. I drove from Albany to the Corvallis location and was helped immediately by Kathleen. She was personable, friendly, and listened to how what I wanted my hair cut. She appreciated I had pictures on my phone as well. She wet down my hair, cut to style, verifying with me along the way, and finished in no time at all. My hair felt and looked right and I was just thrilled! After paying extremely high full salon prices for years and not really getting what I asked for, this was truly refreshing! Until all stylists are vaccinated this is a risky place to take your business. It's been my go-to place for haircuts and beard trims for years but today I asked the young woman who called to me if she is vaccinated; she said no, it's her choice. I tried to explain that she's putting me, an elderly, overweight, diabetic, cancer patient to extreme risk even though I'm vaccinated, and that she's putting our local overwhelmed hospital to extreme risk. She herself is at enhanced risk given her evident obesity and her protracted close contact with many people each day. I did not phase her. Don't know why I went back a second time to get my brows done since the first time they messed them up, and this time was no different. I was extremely pissed off that my eyebrows look pretty much like they did before I went in. Haven't they heard of shaping? Sure, waxing the new growth is great, but that's not all that comes with a wax. You have to contour the brows to the client's face, too. I just had to finish the job myself, and I'm very disappointed. Also, have they never heard of some kind of cooling gel after the job is done? Whatever wax they use (and stick in the microwave) has made my face irritated and burn twice now. I just moved here to Corvallis, and I kept putting off getting a hair cut because I didn't know any one around here and didn't want my hair completely screwed up. So I decided to try so fly salon. They ladies were all so nice and not a long wait at all. I got Lena and she was so awesome. My hair was a little messed up from it dried out and over died. I also had a super choppy hair cut. She fixed it all. She trimmed the ends without taking length off. She completely blended all my layers so they weren't so choppy and "erased" my dead ends with a razor. It was amazing and I loved the way it turned out. To top it off, it was only $10!! I couldn't believe it. In California something like this would of been $40 or more. So sorry to say that this is the worst haircut I have ever had. I have been going to So Fly for years. Went in a week ago for a cut / trim. Got home right afterwards and got in the shower to rinse off cut hair and to shampoo / style it. It looked terrible, so I immediately drove back to show the stylist (long blond hair) how bad it looked. She defended herself by saying something about my part and how the whole thing was not her fault. What happened to "the customer is always right?" So she cut it again, and since then, I have been too embarrassed to go out of the house without wearing a hat. Terrible job. $5 eyebrow waxing sounds good right? I went for a second time and again very disappointed. They left my eyebrows super thin and one badly shaped eyebrow with the inner part over waxed. There was still so many little hairs left around the "shaped" eyebrows I had purposely left my eyebrows grow so it would give them a good shape but no... and it's hard to mess up on my eyebrows! Each time she does a fantastic job. I've been here three times now. Let me start with the good. The business has a very nice feel to it. It's intimate, the colors are cool and chic. Staff here are welcoming. My first visit was great, probably 4 stars. She was friendly and chatty (but not too chatty) and my hair looked great. My 2nd visit was not as good. The stylist was friendly but I don't think she was very hair-knowledgeable. My hair was alright, it wasn't cut short enough and some lines weren't straight at all. When I got home I had to trim a few things. My last trip, which will probably be my last, was probably the worst hair cut experience I've had. The stylist was unpleasant. While using the clippers she dug into my scalp several times and constantly smacked my ear with the comb. She also didn't seam to care about how my hair looked. It's like she was a robot and didn't have any personal touches. There were little things as well, like she didn't put one of those wrap things around my neck, she didn't trim the hair around my ears, and at the end she had the hair dryer on super hot to blow off the hair. I think it burned my neck a little. I was really happy to see a really good priced hair salon come into town but it's sad that it was a real miss. read more

I have been there multiple times now for cut and color and had my brows done. I have never gone away dissatisfied. You seriously can't beat the price and I have always been treated kindly. In fact, the first time I was there it was me that came in from a stressed work day in a very sour and grumpy mood. This place is a gem in the rough folks! My story starts at a high-end salon with a haircut that when I got home my husband told me I look like my hair had been cut by a five-year-old! I was mortified, having spent a great deal of money and being very disappointed. I went into so fly with pretty low hopes and expectations of what they could do to fix my hair, but boy was I impressed! I was put in to the capable hands of Mamie, who did Wonders on my head and gave me a Chic new haircut that I have gotten at least 15 to 20 compliments on in the last 2 weeks. I've gotten a few trims here over the last few years and it's always been good for that until recently. (I have long wavy hair btw) First real qualm: two years ago, I got a short a-line cut which had to be fixed the next day by a different hairdresser. Not too big of a deal, and it didn't stop me from going back recently but I had another bad experience: The hairdresser gave my long wavy hair a trim with clippers. One layer and then the ends. I was just so confused the whole time so I didn't say anything. It looked bad, but I guess it got the job done--which was getting rid of my split ends. I also had another (simple) request, and showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she sent me to a different hairdresser because she didn't feel comfortable doing the hairstyle. The other hairstylist knew what I wanted and did a decent job but my s/o had to fix it later because it wasn't really what I wanted and the lines weren't straight. *I have very long hair. Went in for a simple trim and shaping. They were very nice and greeted everyone that entered. They seemed to have a good flow of people getting their haircut for an hour into opening. I only sat for about 5 min until I was able to be seen. I had gotten Windy and she was very nice and welcoming. She listened and understood exactly how I wanted my hair shaped (trimmed an inch and tapered U shape). I got my eyebrows done here twice.... and it was horrible both times. I thought maybe the first time it was just maybe a rough day and went back the second.... it was worse. The lady who did my brows was not friendly, rushed the whole process, my brows were uneven and on top a piece of skin was ripped off. (Same gal both times) I will never come back to this salon, spending the extra 5 bucks is worth keeping my skin on my face. read more

I am so sad and upset with my second and last visit. 5 months ago I went to a different salon and received a terrible haircut. Waited 8 weeks to let my hair grow out. Since we took my child to so fly for her first haircut, and it went well I pushed back my fear and tried them it fix my really terrible hair situation. The lady who cut my hair the first time was kind, helpful and listened to my concerns. She trimmed my hair well and made a very noticeable difference. Still not all even but much better I left. Another 7 weeks goes buy and 2 days ago I went back. The lady that helped me before wasn't there. I tried the person who cut my child's hair thinking she will be alright. Boy was I wrong. She did not listen to me at all. I said I wanted a trim but instead I received, as if possible, an even worse cut/ style than I did at the other salon. It's not even anywhere on my head. I went back yesterday to see if the First Lady was there. No luck but the woman who gave me this horrific cut came over and started telling me how in the future I should ask for my hair to be cut.
