I had a consult with Gehlan prior to my appointment where I discussed I wanted highlights to compliment my natural haircolor and a cut. I booked my appointment the next week and arrived at 2:00 pm and left at 5:29 pm. At no time during my time in the chair did he discuss he was going off our prior discussion and doing creative coloring. When he began to blow dry my hair he turned the chair sideways so I couldn't see the cut or color in the mirror, generally in the past my stylists have had me face the mirror so I could see the color. When I asked him to turn my chair so I could see the color he obliged me and did that. When I said I wasn't sure about the color because the roots were dark he told me to sit down and be quiet - hmm, not a great response. When after 3.5 hours I left to pay the bill I was shocked to see, I was charged for long hair, my hair is at my shoulders, for highlights, for creative color and one additional color. The bill was broken out to $155 Long - Full highlight, 1 creative color $50, 1 women's cut $60, cleaning and disinfecting $7.95 and 1 Color $36.64 totaling $312.50. It's been 3 weeks and my hair looks like it needs to be highlighted again because the roots are so dark. I can't recommend Salon Heather or Gehlan and 3.5 hours is way too long in my opinion for the services I requested.

When I pointed out the mistake, she said she would no longer do my hair, and referred me to another stylist. This was insulting but I nevertheless scheduled a correction appointment with the 2nd stylist who explained the error made by the first stylist, why my hair looked like it did, and how she could fix it. Even though Stylist 1 made the mistake which was clearly conveyed by Stylist 2, I decided to let the 1st stylist off the hook and paid for a consult rather than having a correction on her proverbial 'record'. There was nothing the 2nd stylist could do to fix it at that moment anyway and I didn't want any awkward encounters with the other stylist going forward. I just wanted her to fix my hair and then maintain it. After 3 visits with Stylist 2, my hair was 'fixed' and we were humming along. There were a few more mistakes made but nothing major and I never said anything about them. Stylist 2 indicated it would be getting easier since she'd mapped out exactly where to apply the color going forward. When I attempted to schedule my 7th visit, the salon said they were going to have to increase my fees to a full custom color rather than the partial foil I'd received in the prior 6-7 visits. I had been getting a reverse highlight applying color to small sections (low-lights, basically) which was considered (by Hendrix) to be a partial foil from Day 1. I argued that neither the process nor the time involved had changed and I saw no reason to increase my already top tier fee. I was also frustrated at being rescheduled 3 times and it was seeming as though they would rather lose a client than continue to do my hair. I'm really disappointed because my hair was getting really good and I was excited for the next visit but they rescheduled two appointments and then with the third call to AGAIN reschedule and push my appt further out, sprang the price increase on me...and that was the last straw. Their response when I indicated I would not be rescheduling their latest cancelation was "we understand your decision". You understand my decision? You didn't even make any effort to help me understand yours. And I just want to note that I didn't mention the names of the two stylists because I'm not vindictive and I don't believe in public shaming of anyone regardless of the circumstances but suffice it to say I definitely did not feel valued as a customer. If that changes, I'll let ya know.

Cass has been my go-to stylist for a number of years and was able to work with me before hand to get a picture of exactly what I wanted for my wedding. She provided a trial for me before hand so I could make sure it was what I pictured and she knocked it out of the park. With 8 girls that needed to get ready for pictures, she brought along a second stylist (Kayla) for day of and they both worked seamlessly together with all style requests and types of hair. Shauna is simply the best. I have long hair with layers and partial highlights. I scheduled an appointment to just have my roots touched up. I was hesitant to also have my hair trimmed as my last experience resulted in the stylist taking a lot more off my hair than I wanted. Sigh. Anyway, Shauna was understanding to my hesitation. She also showed me the layers in the back of my head were crooked. Double sigh. She not only fixed the layers, she cleaned up the ends without sacrificing my length. This same hairdresser now claims that this is in fact what I asked for and that she actually tried to tell me not to go shorter. Absolutely disgusting service. Upon calling for a refund, I was treated rudely, told that I was lucky that my reference picture was not followed and that the way my hair was cut was in fact what I asked for. I was even told that the way it was cut was a "conservative" decision. My hair should have been cut HOW I ASKED NOT WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS IN MY "BEST INTEREST". I was offered half a refund if I took my reviews down. Alongside this, my before photos all apparently aren't accurate by their standards and the difference between before and after is in fact 2 inches..I would rather everyone know how bad of an experience I had than get my money back.
