I first met Kathy Gondrezick when she was cutting hair at a salon on Pearl Street several years ago. I haven't turned back since! In fact - before Fringe (and in between moving her business to Denver) Kathy would come to my house and cut my hair in the kitchen. I've probably had at least 50 haircuts by Kathy, and each one has been absolutely perfect. I couldn't be happier, and will continue to go to her no matter where the chair is. Not only does she do an incredible job each and every time, she is also a great conversationalist (which is huge when you are sitting in a chair for an hour near someone with scissors). I love that Fringe is over on the Northwest side of Denver. It is so easy to get to, there is always ample parking in the back and I can hop right on 25 or 36 afterwards to get to work or wherever I need to be. Kathy knows what I like, she knows how my hair grows and she knows how to make me look the best that I can. I will be going to her for all of my haircuts until I have no more hair to cut. Nestled in the heart of Denver, my 9 year old daughter and I discovered this adorable salon! I called to schedule an appointment and the owner, Mandie, answered. She was very friendly and professional. She was also able to get us in that week! When we went in for our service, the salon itself had a warm hometown feel. It was very clean and the employees were very pleasant with genuine smiles as they welcomed us in. Mandie introduced herself to us right away and led us to a chair. We discussed our (my daughter and my) vision for our hair. Mandie offered her professional opinion, yet we didn't feel pressured into trying anything we weren't comfortable with. Mandie asked questions during the process to be sure we received exactly what we wanted. We were both incredibly satisfied with her work, her professionalism, and the prices were very reasonable! I was especially pleased watching my daughter not pass a mirror without admiring herself and yet she still looked age appropriate!! Mandie has been doing my hair for years now- I have never let, or wanted, anyone else to dye my hair as I am very particular and I have VERY think/coarse and curly hair (most people have about 1/10th the amount of hair that I have) so it can sometimes be tough to deal with, but she can deal with it. I love going in to have just a cut and a blow out or have her do my highlights- dark brown hair and I have had purple (put in in October and it is still very vibrant) and red and blonde highlights. I bring her a lot of pictures and she is always very realistic with me about what I can and can't do with my hair, but no matter what I always walk out feeling like a new me full of confidence :) She also cuts my daughters hair-they have very thin hair. She does her best to work with them and their little girl demands but also give mom that piece of mind that they are still my little girls. read more

Kathy is an amazing talent and a wonderful person! I've been seeing Kathy professionally since long before her Fringe days. I think we all know women who hold on to their hairdressers too long because of their loyalty and friendships with them. Unfortunately, many of those women find themselves in a style rut because of that very situation - someone who has always done their hair "that way". There is also often fear of trying someone new and not knowing their skillsets. Kathy is different. She keeps up on the latest styles and trends and makes sure she has the skills to make them work for her clients. I was a little leery of this place at first as it doesn't have a great storefront; it's on grungy Federal Boulevard, but was really happy with the result. I was very pleased with Mandie's cut and highlights. She's generous with the color; she gave me very natural red highlights that match the natural color I had in my teens and 20s. She also gave me a good haircut. I also like that the salon is actually owned by a woman. So many salons are owned by men (such as Ergan Tercan) who take a huge cut of the stylists' pay, which I find obnoxious. It's almost like its protection money or something. Her prices are very good; she may be saving money on rent by being on grungy Fed Blvd. in addition to not having pay a cut to the "Don of the Salon". Good for Mandie for striking out into competing in the marketplace as a female-owned salon. read more

Kathy Gondrezick, a Hair Color Specialist at Fringe Hair Salon is awesome! I have been with her for 7 years now and had followed her from the high-end salon in Boulder where she was the top colorist. She is highly professional, does an awesome job, is easy to work with, and charges reasonable prices compared to what she could charge. I would highly recommend her to anyone who takes pride in their hair and hair color. You walk out of there looking fantastic! Occasionally if someone is slightly unhappy, she addresses the issue immediately. She becomes your adviser, hair artist, and good friend. Mandie had been coloring, highlighting and cutting my hair for three years. My hair is thin and she is really good at cutting it so that you cant notice the thinness. Love the colors that she has done with my hair and it always feeling health and soft after the service. Some hair colors damage my hair but not the one that Mandie uses. Not only is she great at her craft but she is a very kind human, and we all know how much that means when you are spend so much time with a human. One of the biggest turn offs for me in a hair stylist is not being able to talk to them but Mandie is so kind and she talk to me even when I am processing. Some stylists walk away and leave you to sit there by yourself. I recommend Mandie 100% you wont be disappointed! read more

In love with my hair! After reading that one bad review I may have been a little hesitate but being in the service industry I understand sometimes there are just those people that are bitter Betties and there is nothing you can do to please them. So, I gave Fringe and Mandie a shot and am so glad I did. I wanted to try a different (darker) blonde with some pee a boo highlights and got exactly what I wanted. The color is great and Mandie was excellent at helping me pick a color that would compliment my skin tone and still keep me blonde, just a little darker than I was previously. I bought a Groupon for highlights, cut and style and am very happy. I was able to book my appointment online for the exact time I wanted. Mandie was super friendly and easy to talk to. She did great highlights on my hair (and actually fixed some color issues that a jr stylist had done at a different salon as well as being very careful not to overprocess parts of my hair that were a little fried already) and did my shorter hair cut exactly how I wanted. I didn't even need to show her any pictures. I'll definitely be going back. I also think the salon is cute, you can tell it has been updated with nice flooring and other things. read more

I've been going to Mandie for years to get my hair done, even when she was not even remotely close to me. Now she owns Fringe Hair Salon in my neighborhood and it's so convenient! The salon is adorable and all of the other stylists seem very friendly. I have really long, thick hair and she is the only stylist I've ever had that completely dries my hair after a cut, spending the extra time to show me how to style my new 'do. Since moving to Northwest Denver I always went to the Vida Salon, however, when my stylist there moved to the mountains and the couple of times I called they couldn't get me in for a while, I decided to look around. I google salons in Northwest Denver and Fringe came up. I called and spoke with Mandy (the owner), who stayed late to fit me in for a cut. The salon is in a strip of shops on Federal, the front door is a bit hard to open, but once inside it's very nice. Mandy did a great job, is really nice, up on the trends and is reasonable price.
