Ashley was very professional and knowledgeable about my thick hair type and funky style. She took a fraction of the time the previous girl took to cut my hair. She then put some serum in it and blow dried it (which is no small feat with the amount of hair I have). It was so shiny! After blow drying and flat ironing my hair, she went back in to check her work, and we decided to bring up the back even a little higher (I like it VERY angled). My hair feels sleek, looks shiny, and has so much more movement than before. Just be clear about what you want, and if you do want something special, communicate that ahead of time so she can make sure to block off more time for you. Overall, great experience. I would go back.

I go as often as I can! Yoga and kickboxing are also offered here, so there really is something for everyone! For Beauty, Marisa has done my makeup for a photoshoot and for my wedding and both times, I was blown away! She made me feel so beautiful, so confident, and show stopping! I teared up immediately when I saw how I looked on my special day--all thanks to the Upstyle team. I had never felt more beautiful (while still feeling like myself) after getting my hair and makeup done. It is not uncommon for Asian brides to have doubts about how they will look after makeup, but I want everyone to know that Jessica's talent knows no bounds. She understood my vision and made me look exactly how I wanted to look and (somehow using her magic) more. There really aren't enough words to describe the immense joy (and relief) I felt after being in Jessica's chair. I also got beyond lucky to have worked with Jessie. I had asked for changes to my updo after my trial, and she worked with me throughout the entire morning of my wedding to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. People say they feel the wedding blues after everything is over; I do too, of course, but what contributes to those blues is how much I miss them. Keep in mind, I never met personally with anyone in this salon, I never did a phone consultation, and I never got to do a trial. We have been working with Connecticut's Attorney General since November 2020 (it is now end of March 2021) to try to get a refund/work out a payment plan to get our money back. I understand businesses were affected by the pandemic, however, this salon provided ZERO services and has no moral issue withholding our money. Let me repeat, ZERO services were offered by the salon. The Attorney General said we are not the first to complain about this salon-BEWARE.
