My wife and I decided to pop for full hair and makeup services for our wedding, and Grace did such an amazing job!!! We both wear a little bit of makeup pretty regularly for work, and maybe a little more for special occasions; but we wanted looks that were a *little bit* bolder and more special that would also stay put for the whole day and night. We thoroughly enjoyed the consultation process, where Grace clearly heard what we wanted and asked lots of helpful clarifying questions to be sure everything would be just perfect. While it initially looked as if we'd be paired with a team member day-of, we were lucky enough to have Grace herself get both of us glam -- plus my step-daughter! So, so perfect for all of us. And Grace is also a wonderful life coach. We opted into the pre-wedding stress-relief sessions (on Zoom), which we both found really helpful in keeping us focused on the excitement and the positives -- rather than the inevitable logistical challenges and problem-solving and nerves -- as we headed toward our big day. Really top-notch service, which among the other plusses brought me to a shade of pink for my lip color that I love but never would have picked for myself in a million years! :) I understand that Grace also does makeup tutorials and more general life-coaching, and while the post-wedding budget doesn't quite stretch to that right now I'm definitely considering it. I do not recommend this company. High pressure sales from the initial conversation. Horrible trial with a "senior artist" that used all drugstore makeup on me with the exception of an outdated airbrush machine that gave me a horrible allergic reaction. Artist assured me products and hair would be different on day of because she was on a "time constraint" during my trail that cost me thousands. How professional! During my wedding she was late, did everyone's hair the same lazy style and forgot to do the BRIDES lip color. She also used all DRUGSTORE makeup. Unacceptable for a brides special day. read more

Mia did our hair and makeup for a friends wedding and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. She was timely, professional, fun, & talented. She had some great creative ideas for the girls who she hadn't worked on before and we were all extremely satisfied. I love how she was able to achieve the exact hairstyle I had in mind even though my hair is very kinky, curly, and hard to manage. I've never felt so beautiful and received a million compliments. I have never looked better in my life than I did on my wedding day. Of the 477 pictures just got from my photographer, I look bad in about six of them, and that's only because I'm blinking. Bree had been careful to document the updo she created for me, taking digital photos at every step during the trial run, so she was able to make me look as fabulous on my wedding day. My makeup was perfect. She was even able to minimize the gigantic zit I had. It felt like the only thing anyone would see, but you have to look really carefully for it in pictures! I got so many compliments from everyone involved about how beautiful I looked at my wedding. The only person who wasn't overly impressed was my husband, but that's because he says I always look beautiful. Smart guy, huh? My sister, who was my matron of honor, also looked lovely and got exactly what she wanted. (But importantly, she did not, of course, look better than me!) I cannot speak highly enough of everyone I've dealt with at Blushing Brides, especially the fantastic Bree. They were worth every penny I paid, and more. I was thoroughly pleased with the hair and makeup that Mia did for me, my mom, and my sister before my wedding. She was a little heavier handed on my mom than she wanted (tried asking for lighter airbrushing, less waterlining), but not a huge deal - my mom was happy with it and looked gorgeous. Separate and apart from Mia's high quality work product, I was less than pleased with BB's customer service. I originally booked a Team Member because I was only getting a few services done, and it was more cost effective, but our trial was pretty awful - the artist ran 30 minutes late (kept me and my mom waiting in her kitchen while she worked on another trial, no apologies or updates while we waited), had limited product selection (nothing for the brows!), and didn't execute what I was looking for at all. So, to Laura's credit, she offered me a complimentary trial with a new artist and I upgraded to Mia. More expensive, but worth it at that point. Again, Mia was terrific, and I had no similar service issues with her. One last note: expect Theresa (or whomever is in the point contact role) to be quite aggressive about gratuities. She reminded me in nearly every email that covered money. My planner commented that this was unusual in her experience and highly unprofessional, and it just rubbed me the wrong way. Furthermore, responsiveness to emails was erratic. Sometimes Laura and Theresa would reply immediately, and other times it'd take several days. Just some things to know and expect beforehand, if you book BB. I'd still recommend them for the high quality work of someone like Mia (someone at least at the Senior Artist level, though!) but felt I would've appreciated an honest review like this when I was booking my hair and makeup vendor. read more

My sister had used Blushing Brides for her wedding 4 years before mine and they were one of the first calls I made after knowing what an amazing job they did for her wedding - they certainly did not disappoint for mine either! So I have worked with Blushing Brides twice. Both were alright experiences. I think that it is a great convenience that they come out to the site and the airbrush makeup is amazing. But I also feel like there have been a lot of issues. The first wedding I was in everything went rather well but two of the girl were extremely late because of an accident and had the airbrush machine. Which meant that the bride didn't get full attention that was promised. I understand that things happen and it was a newer company at that point, but I felt as though it was unfortunate that that then made us all late for pictures and things became more rushed. They also took the photos without my personal knowledge and have them posted on their website. I found that surprising. They took the ones that the photographer had posted. My most recent experience was less than impressive. It took Grace far too long to respond to the bride to the point where it was unprofessional. The bride contacted her through many avenues and had to push to set up her trial run (I hear that they now have an office manager; so there may be improvement there). The lead designer and one stylist (out of the four girls we were assigned) were the only two who really accomplished successful hair and make up. Another bridesmaid and myself both brought photographs and didn't end up looking like what we asked for. Thankfully mine was simple enough where it was ok and didn't need any major tweaking but she didn't touch my bangs at all and on a rainy day they needed to be smoothed out especially where I have a natural cow lick. So I did attempt to have the stylist fix my bangs, but that went awry and she started curling side pieces of hair and was just very far off the mark of the polish look I requested. The other bridesmaid who had a photograph had to have her hair completely redone. She had a photo of Heidi Klum's hair and ended up looking like a curly Princess Leah. Her whole intention was to not have any curls which is why she choose a photo without them. The teased look in the front wasn't even attempted to be accomplished by the stylist. She more or less created her own look. One of the other bridesmaids asked her stylist to twist her hair on the sides and she said that she could not do that, but could do braids. Those ended up looking like wings because they didn't not sit flat to her head and were done carelessly. The final bridesmaid was a very prom like look, which is not what she asked for either. One of the stylist chatted about her boyfriend the entire time and would go out to smoke. Which I can respect the fact that you are a smoker but when you are working close to the face of nonsmokers and your hands and person smells of smoke its not what I would deem professional. The two stylists who seemed to know what they were doing did a great job. Sadly with makeup many of the bridesmaids finished their eyes themselves and right after the ceremony all the bridesmaids went in and adjusted our make up. Now I know that it sounds like we are divas, but that isn't the case we all said that we would live with what we were given because the day wasn't about us, but thankfully the 3rd girl was willing to work with all of us to fix the hair. We are a group of girls in our mid-twenties who didn't want to look like we were going to prom. I would say that the two hairstylists just didn't have the same taste or skill level level for what we were asking for. Even if we were a little picky we were paying for a service. We didn't ask to look like the photo. Obviously we know we aren't going to look like Heidi Klum and whatever other models we had, but I also didn't ask for her to create her own hairstyle either. We just wanted something in the ball park and they missed the mark. Thankfully though the bride who was done up by the lead designer looked amazing and that is truly what the day was about. All of these issues caused a time crunch, which did not ruin the day, but it certainly made things far more hectic. In both of my interactions with Blushing Brides there have been time issues. And as one of the more experienced stylists pointed out they are all at different skill levels, which dictated what they are capable of doing. This company deserves no stars. I urge you to get a contract with specific expectations outlined before any, ANY, money is exchanged. They took a deposit and then proceeded to have horrible communication and did not respond after 2.5 weeks of attempting to schedule a trial. It was completely unprofessional and after no contact from them, the situation forced going with another vendor (who has been SPECTACULAR!) They are now refusing to give back the deposit despite nothing indicating deposits are non refundable. This is completely unprofessional and horrible business practice. Weddings and planning are stressful enough without dealing with businesses like this. Go elsewhere. read more

From the beginning dealing with BB was terrible. Their coordinator Theresa took weeks to get back to me each time...then blamed it on being understaffed...which you shouldn't be telling a client. She failed to set up a trial run in time as well. She constantly apologized and I wish I had canceled with them within the first signs of unprofessionalism. Besides dealing with her my artist showed up 45 MINUTES LATE on my wedding day with no call to myself or my 2 alternate contact people. The artist also insisted I get false eyelashes to make myself look nicer, then had the audacity to charge me for them! In the end I was pleased with the results of my hair and makeup but extremely disappointed in the customer service I received for the price paid. I hired Blushing Brides to do my hair/makeup for my 10/17/2015 wedding, and the hair/makeup of my bridal party. I enjoyed speaking with Theresa from the start. When it came time to schedule my trial run there was some drama with getting this set up, but I found Laura (the trial coordinator) to be helpful and responsive and eventually we got the trial set up for the Thursday before my Saturday wedding. Mia came to do my hair and makeup and I absolutely adore her. She is a doll and extremely good at her job. The trial went well. Mia told me that I'd receive a schedule for the wedding day. I did not. The morning of the wedding I started to panic because I had not yet heard from anyone at BB. I called Mia though and she was very helpful and said she'd have someone get in touch with me, and that she'd be by to do my hair/makeup. Within five minutes I got an email from Theresa apologizing for not sending the schedule; it was in her drafts folder. No big deal. Two makeup artists arrived and did my bridal party. Mia arrived on time and got my hair and makeup done. Again, i just LOVE Mia! So wonderful. My bridal party looked amazing, everyone had fun getting their hair/makeup done. It was a great experience. I deducted one star for the shenanigans with scheduling the trial run and the not getting the schedule prior to my wedding day. I hired blushing brides for make-up services for my wedding. I wish I could separate my review of the make-up artist vs the company itself because I have very different opinions on both. Make-up Artist: Molly Molly was great. She was energetic, full of positive energy, and did a great job on my make-up. She listened to me and was open to any concerns I had and never pressured me to spend more than I wanted to. I'm not sure why she's not even listed on the website as one of their "star artists" Company: I would absolutely NOT recommend using this company. I initially met with Lauren Carelli to talk about my needs and get to know the company better. Our initial conversation was great, so I moved ahead with putting down a deposit. However, the minute they took my money all forms of communication stopped. Theresa, my main contact was very unresponsive and it would take weeks for her to respond. In addition, I also had to constantly correct her about my services. Confirming my trail date also took several e-mails and phone calls before she finally confirmed a date. Then, 3 days before my appointment she calls me to reschedule because the company decided to do a last minute job that required "all hands on deck." I found this very rude and unprofessional of the company to take another bride's request over my own. Finally, my contract took a ridiculous amount of time to get to me. I sent all my information in asap but had to wait more than 3 weeks to get my contract. I was seriously wondering if I had been scammed by this company. Luckily, Molly was there when it mattered and everything turned out ok in the end. However, the whole process was stressful. I strongly urge you to look elsewhere! read more

I am not able to say enough about the absolutely fantastic work of the Blushing Brides company. I actually had the pleasure of personally meeting Grace, Theresa, Lauren, and other members of the team; every single individual I met was fun, professional, and did AMAZING work. These ladies get it - they are calm, cool, collected, but love to laugh and socialize with everyone as well. They worked so hard to be on time and actually finished earlier than expected, which was super awesome. I spoke with Theresa and Laura throughout my planning and she was so on-top of EVERYTHING. Additionally, they did my make-up for a boudoir photo shoot as well as my wedding, and both times I was absolutely obsessed with how amazing I (and all of my bridesmaids, sister-in-laws and mothers) looked! Grace and her team are are make-up and hair magicians! I recommend finding somebody who does both hair and make-up just means one less person to coordinate with on your wedding day. Also her prices are the best for on-site styling. I contacted Grace for a hair and make-up trail a month before the wedding date. She did a personal house visit and came well supplied. I knew that she was the one when the trial results were, in a word, stellar. I highly recommend the air-brush make-up. It is like a delightful sea breeze that makes you prettier. Who can argue with that? Also when Aunt Edna comes and gives you a big smooch on your wedding day, the make-up stays in place and Edna gets a real hug. I also opted for false eye lashes, but have never worn them before. I thought they would look silly, but they looked very natural and nobody could even tell I had them on. On the morning of the wedding Grace and team came to our hotel suite in Cambridge. They were both great; professional yet fun - which is ideal for a somewhat important day. We all felt super pampered, lounging around on couches, I could have done that all day. The products they use are top shelf and stayed put for the whole event. I have been working with Grace and her team from Blushing Brides since I got engaged. They did my hair and make up for my engagement shoot, a hair and make up trial and my entire wedding party's hair and makeup (including the mother of the bride and mother of the groom) In total, it was 9 girls getting hair and make up done, on site in 6 hours! I booked Blushing Brides for my August 2013 wedding. I had originally booked another vendor, but she double booked and left me stranded a few months before my wedding. My mother found Blushing Brides online and we booked a trial run. At the trial run I had a difficult time explaining exactly what I wanted, but Grace was able to take my vague ramblings and create the exact look I wanted. It was like she could read my mind! I knew right away that I wanted her to do my hair and makeup on the big day so I cancelled the trial runs I had scheduled with other vendors immediately. On the day of the wedding Grace and her assistant came to my hotel room in Boston and did hair and makeup for me, my mother and my 3 bridesmaids. They were able to create looks that were consistent, but still managed to achieve some individuality for each person. We all used airbrush makeup and it didn't look cakey or heavy at all. We also used the fake eyelashes. Everyone gushed over how great the makeup was and it stayed put all night! My photographer was able to get me my pictures extremely fast because she didn't have to touch them up as much as she usually does! Everyone I dealt with at Blushing Brides was very nice and professional. It was very apparent that Grace takes her business very seriously, but really enjoys what she does. Her personality and jokes really made me feel at ease at the trial run and on the wedding day when I could easily have been freaking out! Everyone I worked with from there was beyond incredible and made organizing all the details for my day a breeze! She was absolutely fantastic, as naturally no one could decide whether they wanted both hair and makeup or just one or the other. So Theresa worked with me as I changed our numbers quite a few times ;-). Eventually we finally got to the point where we had hair/makeup services scheduled for my 6 bridesmaids, my mom, and mother-in law. With all those people, I was so nervous about getting everyone's hair and makeup done in time for the wedding, but Theresa assured me that it would not be a problem. On the day of my wedding, Nicole and Sam arrived at the hotel and immediately started setting up. They were so excited to get started and made me even more excited. They started working on everyone's hair and makeup and knocked out the most gorgeous final products in about a half hour each. I was amazed! They listened to each girl's thoughts on what they were hoping to look like and made everyone look absolutely amazing! I heard about Grace and Blushing Brides from a friend who had used her services for her sister-in-law's wedding. She raved about how good she was, and how the prices were perfect. Once I had set my date, I contacted Grace via email and was left with no response. Because my friend referred me, she was upset with the lack of professionalism, so she then emailed her too. It took about a month or so and she finally emailed me back. This should have been a red flag (she blamed the emails on an issue with her account). I then set up a time for a trial, and she never confirmed with me ahead of time- she only confirmed the morning of, saying she would be running late. Up until that point, I have no idea if the trial was still happening. Once the trial started, Grace was plesant to be around, and my hair was exactly what I wanted. The make up looked nice, but I wasn't exactly thrilled. After the trial, Grace mentioned that 2012 was starting to fill up fast, so in order to hold my date, I had to place a $500 deposit down, which I did. Fast forward a few months, and Grace and her "team" did a friend of mine's wedding. Overall, Grace and her "team" ruined all the girls make up and hair. The make up looked awful (so bad that the bride had to wash her face and re- apply herself), all the girl's updo's, curls, etc. were falling out, eye lashes were falling off, and no one got what they had asked for. Grace also hired people who were not "air brush" tech's, and that clearly showed. Thankfully for the bride, her Maid of Honor was a hair dresser, and was able to "fix" the hair. However, this is not what the bride paid for. Due to all of this, I then requested my deposit back; yet again, it took Grace over a month to get back to me. However, she was very nice and understanding, and offered me another trial. I then declined because no matter how many trials you have, you cannot predict what happens the day of. Grace then agreed to refund me my deposit, but it was not until I posted on her facebook wall for all to see that I then received my check. Grace means well, and she is good at her work, however, it seems she is taking on too much than she can handle. She hires inexperienced hair and make up artistis, runs late and does not answer emails or phone calls when they should be. I really do not want to make a bad name for her, however If you want your wedding day to run smoothly, I would not recommend her business. read more

Working with Blushing Brides for my wedding hair and makeup was a great experience! I got married on Martha's Vineyard, and was having trouble finding a salon I felt comfortable with on the Island or someone who could travel there. Blushing Brides was more than willing to travel, and their travel fees were BY FAR the most reasonable. It was a no brainer for me. Their communication is wonderful, and I appreciated having the clear contract in place. My stylists, Courtney and Katie, came to my home for my trial, which was lovely. They made it over the Vineyard and were at our hotel right on time, and were an absolute joy to have around that morning. My hair and makeup came out beautifully - my updo stayed in place all night, and my makeup was beautiful and tasteful. I felt like a more beautiful version of myself. I highly recommend this team! I wanted something casual and beachy (but I didn't really know much beyond that) and she did this great wavy pony and light makeup. I got married on the Cape and she arrived at my parents' house early, took care of the hair/makeup of my sisters, and had us all done right on schedule. Blushing Brides did the hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and myself and I couldn't have been any happier. All the girls had a different up-do but they were all stunning and their makeup looked absolutely beautiful. I was extremely pleased with the bridal coordinator, who responded promptly to all my messages, and with Nicole who did my trial and my hair and make up on my wedding day. She was really sweet and easy to talk to and really listened to what I wanted. I would not recommend Blushing Brides. I booked 6 months before my family wedding. Theresa did not provide me with a contract for over two months. I attempted to schedule a trial run and the trial coordinator did not return my emails. When I called Theresa about this she claimed that they we're going to spam mail and that was my fault for not looking in the spam box in the first place. This is no excuse as both Theresa and the trail coordinator had several phone numbers they could have used to contact me. They also claimed that they had another staff member call and leave me a voicemail. I am in my mid-20s, I rarely miss a phone call let alone a voicemail. As we were unable to schedule a trial and had not been provided a contract I insisted on a full refund of my deposit. Both Theresa and the owner Grace then stopped answering my phone calls. It took another two months to receive a partial refund and several hours of follow up on my end. I was unable to receive a full refund on my deposit because the price list states it the deposit is non refundable, this is incredibly frustrating as I received no services and poor costumer service through the whole ordeal. IF you do choose to go to blushing brides, you should expect to be treated with little respect. They are neither accommodating nor respectful of their clients need or time. I would expect to have to conduct several follow ups and to never leave your phone for a moment. They might just magically return a call. I was highly disappointed and I would never recommend Blushing Brides. I give 1 star to Theresa as she did attempt to provide decent customer service even though she had no support from her team or the owner. read more

Grace Mahoney and her Blushing Brides team are truly amazing and were one of the best decisions made about our wedding. From the moment you reach out for a quote you are put in touch with Grace's coordinator. She is helpful, patient and will walk you through the entire booking process without a hitch. When you meet with Grace for your trial you will fall in love with her and her talent. The great thing about Grace is that she does exclusively bridal and exclusively air brush makeup. I LOVED this about her and I loved the results. Grace will assure you that you'll sit in her chair during the trial until she gets it right and you are 100% happy. Honestly...it was flawless on the first try! The day of wedding, Grace and her team travel to you. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Blushing Brides. When planning my wedding, I knew that this would probably be the only day I would want professional hair and make-up. In thinking about my late evening ceremony, I knew I'd want the day to feel relaxed and not want to have to leave our beautiful hotel until it was wedding time. Blushing Brides' on-site service was a perfect fit. I could tell from my initial interactions with their planners that they were the perfect balance of professional and relaxed. Throughout the entire planning process, it was easy to stay in touch with them and they would often email just to check in and see if I had any questions. One small but really great thing about working with them was that they kept all communication on the same email thread; whenever I had a question or wanted to go back and check something they'd said, I could easily trace the conversation. When you're emailing a dozen vendors over a 9-month period, this becomes incredibly helpful! And as far as Mia, my stylist, is concerned, she was absolutely top-notch. I had one picture and very little else to go on inspiration-wise, and she perfectly captured the look I was going for. On the day of the wedding, she was efficient but never made us feel rushed. Mia fit right in with our group. Everyone looked gorgeous, and I've never felt more beautiful! I'm so glad I found this service--it was worth every penny! read more
