I had booked June for my wedding. Originally, I was very excited because of her high reviews but that feeling of excitement quickly disappeared as soon as I signed the contract. Once the contract was signed, June had reached out to me saying that I needed to pay for more money. I had to call her to figure out why; to only find out that she had made an error and wanted me to pay for it. If I had not stood up for myself, I think she would have made me paid for her error. On the day of the wedding, June clearly does not know what good customer service is. Due to her poor planning and management, I had missed out on ALL of my getting ready photos AND my sister (MoH) make up was not done at the time of departure. The entire getting ready process was chaotic (which June says that it is supposed to be like this) and mismanaged. I do not blame her HMUA team since June was not there but June herself as she wrote out the schedule (which now looking back at it was not realistic). The worst part about this is when I brought up my issues with June, she was very defensive and dismissive about my experience and perspective. When I had told her that I would need my bridesmaid to be included in the conversation, who had better idea of timing/the situation, June just completely ignored her. The customer service experience I got from June felt like a big giant F U. She had told us that she had a very good idea of what happened onsite even though she was not present. For someone in the service industry, this is so infuriating!! On top of it all, instead of owning her own mistake June takes it out on her team. I chose June for my makeup and hair because I wanted someone who could accent/enhance my features without making it look like I have a million layers of makeup on. Love Notes by June - Phenomenal! I cannot speak highly enough about Love Notes by June. June and her team were exceptional from start to finish and I recommend her to anyone looking for a true professional who is organized, experienced, and talented. I found June through instagram approximately a year prior to my wedding. I was living in California at the time and planning a Boston wedding so I did most of my vendor research, including hair and makeup, via social media. When I found Love Notes by June on Insta, I was immediately impressed; the photos featured elegant and natural makeup as well as a wide range of equally lovely and intricate hairstyles. June's response to my preliminary inquiry was direct and informative, which immediately indicated that she was a credible professional who expected the same from her clientele. On my wedding day, June was nothing short of exemplary. She perfectly executed the bridal makeup that I had envisioned and we had finessed during the trial. Importantly, I was deadest on maintaining a natural look with nude shades and avoiding a heavy makeup. June nailed my desired aesthetic - the completed look enhanced and highlighted my natural features while still covering my imperfections (in particular, she was able to perfectly conceal pigmentation irregularities without loading on foundation). For bridal hair, I opted for simple, loose curls (I have long, super straight hair) and was very pleased that the style held up for the vast majority of the night (whereas typically, any curls fall out within 30 minutes). In addition, there were a total of 13 women getting hair and makeup done on my wedding day so I was so relieved when June arrived on time, armed with five skilled stylists who were professional and efficient. Booked June for my wedding 10 months from my wedding date my bridesmaids changed their opinion on getting their makeup and hair done because of the cost. June would not let me amend the contract of those who would be getting their makeup done 10 months out. Then that means I would have had to pay out of pocket for my friends who were not getting their hair or makeup done. Outrageous and SO expensive! Since she would not let me lessen those who were getting their hair and makeup done, I had to cancel my contract with her. With further research she charged WAY TOO MUCH for a deposit. I would recommend using another service. I ended up using a great service and it was half the price and they did an exceptional job and I was able to amend the numbers up to a month in advance of my wedding. June also promised she would give me the deposit back and when the time came she wouldn't pick up or return any of my emails or calls. Horrible business practices!!!!!! I'll start my review with a very bold statement: June is nothing short of a miracle worker. I have had problem skin since I was in high school (I'm now 37), and although things have cleared up quite a bit in recent years as I've gotten access to better skin care, I'll occasionally still get a flare up, especially when I'm under stress. Well, three days before my wedding, what did I wake up with on my face? At least three painful, swollen, RED breakouts front and center. I am very fair skinned, too, so the contrast is stark when things like this happen. When June arrived on my wedding day, I began falling all over myself apologizing for the condition of my skin. I loved working with June! I had a few ideas in mind and images which I had brought to the trial. having the images really helped her understand what kind of look I was going for and what color palette I'm interested in for the makeup. June created the look perfect for me. She modified colors and hairstyles necessary to better fit me. I found June's website through Google search. After comparing her portfolio with other local stylists, I decided to book with June for bridal hair+makeup, plus 3 bridesmaids and mother makeup on my wedding day in July. I did a trail run 5 weeks before my wedding. Although I did some research beforehand and prepared a few pictures, I had only vague idea of what I wanted. I appreciate that June listened to my vision and shared her honest opinion with me. Turned out that the pictures I selected didn't match my style well. After the trail, I felt uncomfortable with some parts of my experimental look. So I emailed June to request a 2nd trail. Although it was close to my wedding day and a busy season, June managed to quickly find a time for my 2nd hair trail, and patiently discussed with me via email about how I wanted to change. During my 2nd trail session, June designed a beautiful braid hair style based on a new photo I showed to her. She also gave me very helpful advice on how to adjust my flower crown, fixed my unbalanced eyes problem, and changed a lipstick color that perfectly matched my skin tone. On my wedding day, everything turned out even more amazing. June created a natural, clean, unique, and very artistic look for me. Fiona (her team) did makeup for 3 bridesmaids and my mother. Everyone looked gorgeous and felt so happy with the outcomes. I would 100% recommend June to anybody who asks!!! I normally don't wear any makeup, and I'm not really familiar with what products to use or how to articulate what kind of look I want. Regardless, based on the variety of hair/makeup pictures I showed her, June was able to create the perfect look for me that felt elevated and glamorous, but still me.
