After a friend recommended Indulge Day Spa for a facial, I thought I'd give it a try. AnneMarie, the proprietress, welcomed me in such a genuine, relaxed manner. She told me a bit about her shop after I told her what a gem she has in the middle of Boston. She gave me a wonderful facial, addressed my skin concerns and is a font of information all all matters regarding facials, waxing, etc. She has an amazing energy about her and as a Reiki Master Practitioner, I asked her if she was doing "healing" as she did her facial. She informed me that she gives a facial with the guidance of energy healing. Super impressed and have gone back many times over!! If I could give this place no stars, I certainly would. The manicure/pedicure lady, Christine, is the rudest, most awful person I've ever attempted to receive a luxury service from. I made an appointment for two manicures after purchasing the service from Groupon. Our appointments were made for 7:30pm. We showed up to the salon early, around 7:10pm. We get there to find that the salon is closed; all lights are off, but the door is open. We go inside and call a few names...no one is around, but whoever left the salon last definitely didn't lock up. I proceed to call Christine after finding her number on the website. She very rudely answers and says that our appointments were at 7pm, not 7:30. I am 200% percent positive they were for 7:30 as I checked back with my conversation with my friend. Anyway, we weren't that late for our appointment even if it was for 7pm. We never received a phone call asking if we were coming or if we were alright; nothing. Christine proceeded to tell me that they are only open until 8pm on Wednesdays and she would never schedule an appointment for 7:30pm. I said, well your sign says you are open until 7pm on Wednesdays and her response was that she decided to "stay open late for the groupon". ??????? Can someone help me understand this. I then asked if she would come back to give us the service we paid for and scheduled and she declined. Not only did she decline, but when I told her the sign says they're open until 7 and I was confused, she HUNG. UP. ON. ME. I called her back because it was obviously absurd and she told me that because we missed the appointment she did not "want us as her customers" and I demanded a refund. I have bought a groupon for "Indulge Day Spa". I have paid $20 for this groupon and it says " Good for two 30-minute manicures and 2 glasses of wine" . I went there to get my first manicure last week and instead of having a nice day and getting a relaxing manicure I ended up having my day ruined, being insulted and paying $20 for one manicure and not even getting that to its fullest (not getting the glass of wine). Christine is a very rude person and she insulted me and where I come from. If you want to know more, please read below: When Chrisitne was done doing my nails, she told me that she will give me $5 credit to my next (second) manicure. And her reason was that I one time got an appointment and cancelled less than 24 hours. I told her that I have already paid groupon $20 so if I don't come next time I have already paid $20 for one manicure (which has a base price of $15, so I overpaid her for $5), and if I decide to come next time, I have to pay $10 more for the second time, so I have paid $30 total for two manicures, which will be $15 for each manicure which is the base price for her manicures. So what good had the Groupon deal for me? She started arguing with me and shouting at me, and told me that you cancelled previous time so groupon will not pay me, and many other things....... I told her to calm down and don't shout but she kept going. She insulted me and where I come from twice saying " I don't know what country you come from....." and "This is not your country..." . She was very rude to me and I don't think I have to explain more. This was the worst experience with any salon service I have got till now! read more

Indulge is cute & cozy -- by cozy, I mean you probably couldn't fit more than 25 people in there simultaneously. However, this doesn't detract from its charm. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Christine while she did manis for me and my friend. We went with Groupons and she gave us no hassle about it. (LOVE that! Never understood businesses that did, if you don't want people to redeem them don't offer them!) Christine is super nice and very friendly. She talks to you while she's doing your nails and you can tell she genuinely wants to get to know you, there was none of that awkwardness that comes with forced conversation. She was helpful in picking out a color and even added some free nail bling for accent! My mani has held up pretty well (today is day 3), the only semi-negative thing is the polish bubbled after drying on 3 of the fingers. I'm not sure why this happened though, it might just have something to do with the texture of my nail. My friend enjoyed her mani just as much and even got a last minute eyebrow wax from another lady there. She loved her eyebrows and even said she loved it enough to become a regular. I go here to get my eyebrows shaped- I also have had my upper lip waxed as well. Their store is tiny but very cute- but their product is very expensive. Their eyebrow wax is only $15 last time I checked, and I have gotten $40 eyebrow shaping done and this place is better! I got one done by Anne Marie and also one by her employee- I think her name was Rachel... They both have always taken their time and done a GREAT job. For a spa, I definitely feel like this place is cheaper than most. I definitely want to try some of their other services, I have always been treated well. read more

Last night I went to Indulge Day Spa for the 2nd time for a manicure. I had a groupon to use and went with my gf. Christine did our nails and she was super friendly! Even though we had a groupon, I felt like she treated us like any other full paying client. I'm not sure what Christine uses for a base coat and top coat that is different from other places. But I feel like my nail polish lasts for a good while before it starts to chip (basing this assessment after my first manicure from her). I'm a fan of supporting small business and she is definitely a business that I would continue to support. She's great and the fact that she does all the manicures in this cute boutique... Bravo! A friend of mine has been raving about Indulge and Anne Marie for years and I finally went in, armed with a gift certificate, to check out what the fuss was all about. Anne Marie is such a treat - honest, quick-witted and knowledgeable - all of which put me right at ease. Because let's face it, going to someone new for a bikini wax can leave one a little squirmy! But I had a great experience and learned a little something about wax as well - there IS a difference when it comes to the pain factor! After, I treated myself to a massage - the masseuse (whose name is escaping me at the moment) was also amazing. I'd go back to her for another in a second. Best. Pedicure. Ever. I'm a flip flop wearer from April-October. Needless to say, my feet get pretty beat up. My heels take a good beating and they don't always look their best. Chris does an amazing job with the foot buffer removing all the gross stuff. Very clean as well! I will never go anywhere else. My feet feel amazing. Good manicure too! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A MASSAGE!! My boyfriend has a bad back and stands on his feet all day. He is always saying how he wants to spend his check on a massage, so for his birthday I wanted to get him one. I checked the reviews and everything seemed fine, and when I went in to purchase it everything checked out. If your looking for a legit massage, this is not the place. Ann Marie REFUSED to do a deep tissue massage. Instead she would only do an "energy" massage where she barely put her hands on him and just kept repeating "do you feel the energy? Do you feel the heat being pulled from your body? You don't feel it? Do you feel it now?". I mean if your into that cool, but he was not. Him and I both were expecting a regular everyday massage. Not some crazy energy crap. No oil, no pressure, just hand waving over his back while she says she's "draining his energy". When he asked about it she claimed that every time someone buys a massage that they explain it. That is so not true. Never was that ever said to me that he would not be getting an actual massage. I must have talked to the woman for fifteen mins and I was informed that it was the standard massage. Not only were we both deceived, the worst part was how unprofessional she was. During a spa day you expect to listen to calming music or something. Nope. Not here. Instead you get to hear all about Ann Marie's problems in her love life. How she will never find the right man, and problems about her drama on Facebook and Twitter and how she had to delete it because of all the drama. Really?!? If you buy a massage at this place, you're really paying $100 for her therapy session. On several occasions she would actually talk with her hands! What kind of masseuse would do that?? She would stop what she was doing and take her hands off your back to wave her hands around while she was complaining about never finding her Prince Charming. I can't believe I spent money on that! I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to spend a lot of money to hear all about this woman's problems and to not actually get a massage. Anne Marie is great at both facials and waxing. She really takes the time to explain your skin condition and how to fix any issues. Unlike other places I've been, she took the time to focus on my problem areas to clean them up and offered samples of her products to try out. She also has the best wax I've ever seen. Anne Marie (the owner, who performs all the services) is a saint when it comes to waxing. She is the only one I'll let groom my brows on this side of Carson beach. She's such a sweet lady. I've noticed this tiny but really cute salon many times while walking on Broadway. I finally decided to give a try today and I'm so glad I did. The owner, Anne Marie, is friendly, knowledgeable, gentle and funny. She offers many services but together we decided on a simple facial (no add on's or other treatments) since it was my first time at her salon. It was relaxing, yet she is very thorough. I recently went for an amazing facial at Indulge Day Spa. I was referred to this spa by my Gaybor, who is into the best of the best.!!!!! He travels all the way from the south end to go for his waxing!!!!! I had a facial with the owner who is very eduated in the field, and very friendly and knowledgeable. The facial massage was so relaxing, and she made the extraction of my pores so comfortable. The decor is so sophisticated, and the place is immaculate. Indulge has a calm and soothing atomosphere that is made even lovelier by Ann Marie. I started going to her for my brows and bikini waxes over three years ago, and have not let anyone else touch me since. Love Chris!!! She is so nice and so good. Normally when I go get my nails done I just sit there and they do my nails and then leave. With Chris she talks to you the whole time asking about where you are from, what you do and then even asks if you have plans that night. She is fantastic! I was running late for my second appointment with Groupon and she called to make sure I was ok and still coming. She's great. I currently live in Brighton but plan on coming here again to get my nails done. She was great with the groupon and didn't get mad when I had to reschedule my first appointment twice. To begin with, I had a lot of trouble getting a hold of someone when calling Indulge to schedule my appointment. The 'mini facial' was less than 30 min and was painful. The brow wax was also not good. She missed several hairs and did not allow me to view my brows after the wax (there were no mirrors visible and she did not offer me one). The room in which I got my treatment seemed unkempt compared to other spa venues I have gone to. I was overall very unhappy with the experience. read more

I went to Indulge for a facial when it first opened and it was OK. I had an AWFUL facial at Indulge last month. I arrived on time and the owner took me 15 minutes late. And she wasn't even with a client. She was at her desk doing paperwork. Finally, she brought me to the treatment room and took off for 10 minutes. I could hear her gabbing away on the phone. The facial itself was mediocre and only lasted 40 minutes. It was supposed to be 60 minutes. It definitely was not worth the $80. The owner was very inattentive. I have been frequenting Indulge since it first opened up and it doesn't get any better than this. Not only is the place beautiful and calming, but Anne Marie will give you amazing personal attention. She does AMAZING facials and waxing... she is very attentive and takes the time to do it right. Whenever I leave Indulge after a treatment, I swear it feels like waking up from a great nap-- I feel refreshed and energized. I couldn't be more happy with Indulge. Chose Indulge from Yelp reviews and couldn't have been better. The facial was great- very soothing- and also left my skin feeling clean, hydrated and soft. Along with the facial was a great hand and arm massage as well as a shoulder and neck massage and a head massage. More than I had expected. It felt sooo good! I also had a lip and eye brow wax which I was really happy with. Though I expected an hour facial she spent about 75 minutes. I walked out so relaxed. Anne Marie is delightful. She is very attentive, careful about preferences, and really gentle and skilled. I will go back and happily recommend her to others. The prices are really fair. I bought the groupon for 2 manicures with wine and called in the beginning of June four separate occasions to schedule an appointment and even left a message with my number as well. I never heard back and finally got through in early July only for them to tell me they are booked for the next 3 weeks. I told them I called weeks ago and never got a return call but I guess it doesn't matter as she reported they have been booked for 4 months. I understand it's close to the groupon expiration date, but the fact that I called 6 weeks prior to the expiration date and never heard back is just unprofesional read more

Wow is all I can say about the rude, horrible attitude of Christine, the woman who does the nail side of the salon! I have never been attacked on a phone call so viciously or hung up on (twice) by a "business woman". I love supporting local business' in Southie, it's great seeing the changes from over twenty years ago but this woman gives local business a bad name. I had a groupon that was I tried using called a few times called to the store but there was either no answer or the other business partner was there, thinking I'd get back I didn't leave a message as trying to get time to do my nails is not something I can plan with such a hectic schedule. I did leave a two message ones which she said never got the other she very aggressively was telling me too bad it expired yesterday. Ok that's fine but the way she spoke and seriously hung up on me twice was outrageous! I have never been treated with such bad manners and from previous posts I see I'm not the only one. They have a great location it's a shame she treats customers new or returning in such a manner.
