Being new to the area, I've been visiting different farmers markets around Santa Clarita, and I was…read morereally excited when I found the Old Town Newhall Farmers Market. Out of the ones I've tried so far, this one had more of the variety I was personally looking for, and I enjoyed the overall atmosphere the first few times I went. But the main reason I initially felt comfortable there was because during my first visit, I came with my service dog and the employee at the entrance properly asked the ADA-approved questions. She asked if my dog was a service dog and then asked what task she performs. I genuinely appreciated that so much, because most of the time people immediately say "we don't allow dogs" without asking, which can feel dismissive when you rely on a service animal. That first experience made me feel safe and respected, and it made me want to keep coming back. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was very different. When I arrived, an employee immediately told me that dogs were not allowed, without first asking if my dog was a service animal. I politely asked if she could ask the two ADA questions, and the interaction became uncomfortable. She responded, "I did, I asked you what the task for your service dog was." I told her, "You didn't ask me if she was a service dog, you just told me dogs aren't allowed." I then explained my dog's task and said, "If you don't mind, please review the ADA procedure for the two questions." She replied, "Oh my friend, we do follow ADA regulations." I told her, "No, you didn't. You assumed my dog was a pet and didn't ask if she was a service dog first." She said, "Most people are happy when we ask those questions," and I responded, "Yes, we are happy when you actually ask them." I do believe she thought she had asked correctly, but she didn't, and the conversation kept going back and forth in front of other people, including a vendor nearby who was giving samples. I ended up getting emotional and crying, which was embarrassing, and I felt bad that the vendor had to witness the situation because he was just standing there doing his job. I can see how this may seem like a small thing to some people, but for those of us who rely on real service dogs, these interactions matter a lot. We constantly feel like we have to justify our legitimacy, and it gets exhausting. I understand that staff have to deal with people bringing pets that are not service animals, and I respect that, but that's exactly why the correct ADA questions should always be asked before making assumptions. And there are ways that you can tell when a service dog is not a real service dog, which is information I would gladly give as I used to help train service animals. Because of that experience, I left feeling really disappointed. It's unfortunate, because I truly liked this farmers market and the variety it offers, but after that interaction I don't feel comfortable going back. I do hope staff continue to review ADA guidelines so situations like this can be handled more professionally in the future.

Love this farmers market. There are small local vendors with high quality products…read more My main items to get from here are fresh & dried fruits, eggs , greens, avocado and breakfast from Tomorrow Bagels or Des Croissants. Tomorrow Bagels are delicious homemade bagels and you can get them with shmear or buy them separate to take home. Des Croissants is a legit French owned pastry shop that makes some of the best croissants in LA. They also have other pastries and breads. There's an excellent meat vendor here and their stuff is so so good A little bit pricey but kind of worth it. They're a regenerative farm. There is one seafood vendor and I got shrimps and scallops a couple time, also really good. Very fresh. Many vendors are organic certified There's an avocado seller here that is soooo good too. Many types of avocado and they last waaay longer than grocery store ones. Buono Italian is very good for some fresh pizza or meatball subs. The owner is always perfecting his recipes and pays attention to details. He's so friendly and serves up good food. Mother's hummus and dips is also solid. Handmade pita and an addictive garlic sun dried tomato spread. Yum!! We also love the German sausage vendor...All kinds of fresh sausage. Gillmore Girls coffee is good. I got matcha latte and cappuccino sometimes. And they have something called Cloud Foam which is yummy. They handmade their syrups. The service is good All sellers are so nice and friendly. They seem so happy all the time. There is live music and some tables you can sit and eat at the same time enjoying nice music There is a parking lot across the street and also street parking.

Bloom Attended…read moreSunday Jazz Brunch 8/9/26. Loved the "farmers market". So many items available for purchase. Kelly and Heather were more than helpful in providing a short tour of the market and assisting me with my purchases. Brunch was organized with plenty to eat and drink. Staff at the market and the brunch were abundant, friendly and courteous. Staff made the visit even more special. Food was fresh, hot and better than expected. Three types of mimosas were available and were overflowing. Staff made sure we had water and ice. It was HOT! The owner, Dr. Bill Releford, gave a welcome and background about the largest Black-owned ranch in LA County. A saxophonist played and took requests and there was also a raffle. Shuttle service to and from the parking lot was appreciated by guests. Some of my party took the shuttle from Inglewood. Parking was at a gated location. The driver, Amber, got us to the ranch early and back to our cars safely. Official Transportation (310) 295-9105 was the provider and I enjoyed interacting with both Amber and Madeline. I thought I'd be able to pick peaches but the staff had already picked them for us. So, I just had to purchased what I wanted to take home. I was grateful because it would have been too hot for me to be in the midst of the farm picking peaches myself! After brunch, I actually became over heated. Debra Releford, Dr. Bill's wife, saw me and realized I needed assistance. Bless you Miss Debra! You and your staff attended to me an I felt safe and well cared for! I made a note of the names of some of the staff that tended to me: Allie, Chris, Lance, Michael and Nick. To you all and those that I missed thank you!!! If it's not already there, Bloom Ranch Sunday Jazz brunch should be added rib to your "to do" list.

I came here with family on a weekend, and due to the large crop bloom, there was a BOGO deal going on this year where if you buy 1 bucket, you get another bucket free! It 's always extremely hot whenever we come here as it would be usually in the summer months. I suggest being prepared because you walk up a small incline in between rows of cherry trees, so being hydrated is necessary. Parking and entrance is free, instructions are given by staff and they lead you to where to go to begin picking. General rules include no eating the cherries inside, no yanking cherries off of branches (leaving stems behind help them grow again), and for the BOGO deal, you must fill up an entire bucket. Now, it can be pricey because it's currently at $6.50 a lb (.50 cents increase compared to pre-covid) and I think a bucket can contain at LEAST 10-12 lbs. So you need to shell out at least $65 in order to do the BOGO deal for example. A staff actually said that a bucket might cost about $85 each when I asked. We didn't do the deal because that would be too much for our small family, so I think this is optimal for large groups! We ended up paying $48 for our bucket and we went our ways. Good for a quick hour. Too long and you may overheat from the heat! - bring own water, bottles sold onsite are $2 each - local honey is also sold - 2 lbs minimum for adult to purchase - overall fun and unique experience! - always double check dates and times, sometimes they close at 1/2pm!
