So we check in early on a Friday morning before the storm started. Our room was not available when we got there so we had to go to breakfast and come back. When we got back we still didn't have a room. So we waited for about an hour until they called us and we came in to finally check in. The hotel is small but large in room size. So lobby is small it has a small bar and a small area for you to be able to buy snacks and drinks. The room was so nice the bathroom is the first door once you enter the room. The bathroom has a nice modern look rainfall shower head and they have a small living with a two seater couch with a tv and microwave and refrigerator. King bed was comfy and big with a nice 43 inch tv . They have a personal balcony with two chairs. It's right off the freeway and down the street from food and gas stations and 6 minutes drive to universal Studios. I will come back again read more

BLVD hotel was a complete let down! They removed our last post about having a cockroach in our bed. . I had booked a night at BLVD hotel for my boyfriends birthday. We went out in LA and enjoyed our day and when we returned back to the hotel I was crawling into bed and found a BABY ROACH! completely disgusted we packed our bags and called the downstairs lobby and told them our situation. The front desk clerk on duty told us we can switch rooms OR get our full refund. We decided on leaving and getting a refund. Days past and NEVER heard from anyone from the hotel. We called multiple times, has sent emails to corporate but nothing. We were completely disappointed in there customer service. I ended up having to call my credit card company and disputing the charge. I would not recommend. read more

I wish I had read more reviews before staying here. Yes it is dirty. Yes there is homeless camps and homeless people all around it. The walls inside my room were all scuffed up and the carpet was disgusting. We wouldn't even walk around in socks. Thank goodness we bring our own sheets and pillow cases. We stayed here because we were barely going to be in the room and for $250/night I couldn't be more disappointed. The outdated alarm clock next to the bed went off at 12 am and woke us up, so random? The parking is $25 and it's seriously a joke of a parking lot I was worried about our car the entire night. The elevator smelt like weed and overall just a crap place. Stayed 3/6-3/9 I planned a family trip for 7 of us to go to Universal Studios and a few other places. BLVD hotel was the prefect place to stay location wise & economically. -Location: Perfect for Universal Studios & City Walk! The tram that takes people up the hill is about a 5-7min walk from the hotel. There is also tons of different food options nearby. -Hotel: Again, great location. Self parking. They have a bar and small Pantry in the lobby, which is decently stocked at better prices than I have experienced anywhere else. -Staff: Everyone I encountered was very friendly and accommodating, from the front desk, down to the maids. -The Room: We booked 2 2Queen bed Suites, which also included a separate seating area with a daybed sized couch, wetbar area with fridge & microwave, & 2 TVs. The staff accommodated my request to having the rooms next to each other. Was perfect for the kids to all be near by without running down the hall or to different floors. I will say, the beds were a bit stiffer than I would have liked, but we were all still able to sleep decently. All in all, I would most likely book a stay here again due to it's location to Universal. read more

My husband and I booked a room online and when I called in to check the status of the reservation and inquire about early check-in times, Jordan (who answered the phone as if she were answering a personal phone call) was nasty from the get go. She was rude, condescending and unprofessional. She hung up the phone on me when I suggested that she didn't seem like she was having a good day. Maybe she wasn't, but the fact still remains....we ended up cancelling our reservation. The worst part is that when I called back, she picked up and hung up each time I asked to speak with a manager. Eventually, I did get a gentleman on the phone who explained to me that there is no manager on site. He told me to send an email to the address listed on the main page....the same page most likely checked first by the front desk staff. Now we have to hope we will get back our deposit. Chanced upon this hotel when I was looking for a hotel very near Universal Studios. I chanced upon a "hidden deal" where the hotel is not named, price lower than regular and you will get any of 4-5 hotels in your area of choice. So I booked and got this 3 star hotel. I looked at it online and it looked very nice & clean (who's not particular about the clean part?) So driving by Lankershim Blvd. past Universal Studios, we turned right onto Ventura Blvd. I thought we would be driving maybe a few blocks more but lo & behold - very few feet from when we turned it was right there on the left side! Unfortunately, the hotel charges $31/day on parking. Lobby is small but really clean, cozy & modern. Reception, waiting area, bar & a small 'store' all in the lobby. Elevator right in front of reception. Elevator is glass which gives u a nice view of Ventura Blvd. & the Comcast Bldg (I think that's the building's name) where there's that free shuttle to Universal Studios. Our room was very spacey - has a good sized king bed. A "mini living room" with a good sized couch & table, a work area, good size cabinet to keep your things, 2 stools and a table where you can eat your meals, very clean bathroom with complete amenities (love their shampoo, conditioner & body wash!). There's a certain way of working their shower; instructions provided right beside it; tricky at 1st. By the door entrance to the left is an extra sink, microwave, fridge, coffee maker + your teas, coffee & condiments. There were 2 water bottles by the tv which we thought were complimentary; beware, they're not. It's $5/bottle! Place is very near Universal Studios-I timed our walk and it was just 7 mins.! By that all glass building (Comcast bldg. I think) is the free Universal shuttle. Walk just a bit further & there's a waiting shed w/ Harry Potter posters - that's the waiting area. Left & right of the hotel are fastfoods & restaurants - also short walking distances. Zankou, Coffee Bean, good mexican food, more fastfoods, a very short drive away. Each guest is given a free drink on their 1st day- choice of wine or coffee. Staff is very pleasant & helpful. The lady though in the bar had a bit of 'snotty' demeanor when I asked for the free wine. But after I tipped, her demeanor changed. Ho-hum... At night the area looks ok, not shady but still, air on the side of caution. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place for its location convenience, cleanliness, coziness. Definitely will book again when going to our happy place (Universal Studios!) read more

I have no idea what everyone is squawking about this place. I booked this place on Hotels.com...Though they don't tell you there is a deposit, most hotels have a deposit regardless. This didn't bother me what so ever. I knew to expect it after reading the reviews. I will also tell you this, I was a bit concern about booking this place after I read the reviews on here. But this is why I feel even more obligated to write regarding this hotel. This is by far one of the best hotels my friend and I have ever stayed out. We arrived, and took advantage of the free parking comp when checking in on YELP. They didn't charge me any additional fee due to the dollar amount or anything. They do ask for your keys if you're double parked which makes sense, but they do have some single spots available too. They did tell me upon signing my receipt that they would take the $100 out as a deposit and it will go back into my account in 3-5 days. I recently checked my statement, and it was back on my account the very same day we checked out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived to our room, it was nice, clean, and very hip! We loved it! The beds were extremely comfy, the bathroom, I about died. It had a shower head coming out of the ceiling and a shower sprayer. Felt good!! I probably stayed in the shower for at least 20-30 minutes, or it at least felt like that lol. They told us about their happy hour between 5-7 which they give you a complimentary glass of wine or beer. They have a take out menu that they order from down the street, prices seem reasonable, they do charge you a $4 delivery fee, but it ends up being what you would typically pay for having the convenience of food brought to your room. My friend was in town from Colorado, and the whole purpose of this visit was to go out to WEHO for a night of Shenanigans. They were courteous enough, that when we asked them if they had a cab they could recommend, they offered to go ahead and call one for us, not to mention give us their card so if we need one for the ride back we will have it available. (Just FYI from the hotel to WEHO it's about $25) which is better then dealing with finding parking down there, and risking drunk driving and hurting someone) I give this place 5 stars, it is definitely a place I will come to again, or will look up to find when needing a place to crash. read more

Probably one of the top 10 worst hotels we have stayed at. $200+ for a room that he hair and stains on the bedding, broken mirror, peeling floor, scuff and dirt marks on walls and furniture. It looks like an old cheap apartment building they tried to turn into a hotel. The hallways are dim, probably so you avoid seeing what else is wrong with the place. The second room we had, had red smears (blood?) on the sheets and long hair on a few of the pillows. The 2 towels and 2 hand towels in the room were four different shades of gray... Not good since they are suppose to be white. For $200+ and then an additional $20 for parking... Go to the Sheraton a little ways down. The only good thing was the proximity and you can get a clean hotel for the same price and just as close. read more

Great location super close to Universal. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. They offer a nice welcome gift. One drink at bar on the house. The only tricky part was the parking but other than that I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Omg the bed was beyond comfortable I did not want to get up. There are many restaurants close by which most deliver via Yelp, Bitesquad etc. If you don't know what is the best ask the staff. Here's an idea 4 cheap advertising & misrepresentation. Give out a bunch of free nt stay vouchers, then say they've expird when someone tries to use it. That's exactly the kind of practices this hotel employs. Wouldn't trust your reservation to be there or for the price you thought it would be either. So I stayed here over the weekend with some family and was very pleased with everything. Upon arrival the front desk was very clean and environment seemed very classy and up to date. We literally just walked in hoping they were going to have a double bed available. Receptionist welcomed us and gave us a room in less then 10 minutes. NO WAIT!!! Walking into our room was refreshing and smelled like new linen. I checked all towels and linen were all super white clean. I think it was all new. I love how this place was so clean, I felt like I was somewhere else on a vacation . The hotel had many spots in the premises to hang out. Great place to chill and bring friends. Bugs - beware! I recently stayed here after recovering from a procedure as it was close to the med spa where I had it done ... when I checked in the receptionist Alicia was VERY rude and unpleasant to me. As I headed to the room, the hallway smelled strongly of pot & and as soon as I stepped into the room 2 out of the 4 lightbulbs didn't work. As if things couldn't get worse, a few hours later I was laying in bed and there was a SPIDER ON THE CEILING! When I called down to the front desk, I was told they could send a broom up for me so I could take care of the bug problem myself! After going back & forth for a few minutes, a room service attendant was reluctantly sent to the room to take care of the problem (I have video proof but Yelp won't allow me to post videos so I attached a screen grab instead) .... when I spoke to the manager in the morning all I was told is that they could comp the parking pass (which was $30) nothing more nothing less. If you are looking for a comforting & clean environment, stay FAR away from the BLVD hotel. read more

If I could give Zero stars, I would. We were promised a Rollaway Bed would be in our room when we checked in. We were tire from a long drive after being up since 4:am and working all day before the drive. A good night's sleep was essential. Then when we got there we had to ask for the extra bed because they hadn't provided it as promised. We checked in about 8:30pm. The lady at the front desk refused to get one for us. She claimed it would be a liability for her to retrieve it. It's a bed on wheels; I've owned one for years I told her I could retrieve it and set it up. She refused. I had to share a bed with my 17 year old son. No 17 year old boy should have to sleep next to his mother. Plus it's $30 to park there. It's NOT Included in the price of the room. We should have gone to the Sheraton. Then the TV didn't work either. read more

Hotel looks like a newly renovated boutique style hotel in a neighborhood that is resurging. It has promise BUT we booked a King room with a sleeper sofa but were given a room without a sofa. They were nice when we asked to move as there were 3 of us and 1 bed wasn't going to work. We were moved to a room with a very small sofa that WAS NOT a sleeper sofa. They did bring a roll away, but we had to trek back down for pillows and blankets. A family we encountered had the exact same issue. Picture of the pool is very deceiving...it's in the corner of the garage and about the size of a hot tub...not a lot of places to sit. The BLVD was pretty disappointing for the $215/night price tag that came with it. The hotel is very modern and updated, but it's made with fake-expensive materials (stuff that looks expensive but is actually cheap). The shower looks awesome, but the showerhead had mildew on it. It's also quite strange that the rooms have hardwood floors instead of carpet, but I guess that goes with the modern style. Parking wasn't too bad. There were a few open spots on Fri and Sat night, but most people parked tandem. Use the Yelp check-in to get free parking ($15 value). The best part about The BLVD is the location. It's a 5 min walk to the Universal Studios shuttle, which stops pretty frequently. It takes you up the big hill to City Walk and the theme park. The BLVD isn't worth more than $150/night, but if you do stay here, you might feel a little better if you ask the front desk for a couple of their complimentary water bottles. ;) read more

A street view and you can hear every single car and is super noisy. There was several homeless people hanging out in the front and you can hear them yelling at each other and other people who walk by. The shower is overly complicated to use. They literally have laminated instructions taped to the wall on how to use it (have to pull both handles at the same time?) and no water pressure at all. read more

BLVD's hotel rooms are nice. The furnishings and appliances - desk, fridge, TV, coffee maker, microwave, are all up to date and in good condition. The bed is very comfortable. The large bathroom has lots of counter space and a good dual head shower with nice water pressure. Even the smallest king suite is quite roomy with a separate living/study area. Parking design is inconvenient. Most of the spaces are tandem spots (one car parked in front of the other). If you park at an outside spot you will have to leave your keys to the front desk so they could move your car if necessary. The lobby is fairly small. There is really just one front desk but the staff were quite friendly and efficient. The happy hour (5-6pm) free drinks at the bar is nice touch. Location of the hotel is great. You can practically walk to Universal Studio and there are a lot of good places to eat nearby. read more

The style of the hotel is what attracted me originally to this place when I was booking a room. I loved the style of the rooms. the bathroom was super nice and clean with ceiling mounted shower head that was perfect for my boyfriend who is very tall. Also love a room that includes and fridge, microwave a good working AC. The Staff was very helpful and friendly and I absolutely loved the bar. The bartender was super cool and very professional. It also gets pretty popular Saturday nights. The parking is a little odd but honestly didn't really seem to have a trouble with the arraignments after all. Reasons for the 4 stars would be that the rooms did seem a little dingy/under-kept and the lighting was just a little too dim for me. I am being a little generous to this hotel because they were generous to me. I also realize they just opened a month ago. However, I want to be realistic in my review. Negatives: 1. They are newly opened so it is still a little rough around the edges - still training staff so customer service is marginal, rooms are not completely finished, lots of activity. 2. Cleaning staff are very noisy - socializing in the morning while cleaning rooms. I appreciate that they are happy, but I don't really care to hear about what they did last night while I'm still trying to sleep. Cleaning staff is otherwise professional and did a great job in our room. (My guess is that they have no idea they can be heard). 3. The lobby is always playing music too loud. I couldn't hear it in my room which I found amazing.......until........there was a party that went on until 2am on a Saturday. The bass felt like it was coming through our floor. When I called to complain, they apologized but explained it was a birthday party and there was nothing they could do. I guess they are more interested in being a club than a hotel! I had to wake up at 6am the next morning.....not a pleasant night's stay for sure. No, my room was not directly over the lobby/bar. The music was just that loud. Positives: 1. Manager/owner was very helpful when I was unsatisfied with my first 2 rooms (I requested king and was given a queen and then the second room had that nasty covered up smoke smell). He was patient and willing to work with my request. In the end, I got a beautiful room that surpassed my expectations! I have a feeling you need him to get this kind of customer service though. 2. The lobby and rooms are very modern - nice furniture, clean look, sharp tv's with DirectTV, free wireless (though not a strong signal), refrigerator, recessed lighting, double headed shower - one being a rainshower. We were comfortable enough to spend an entire day in the room relaxing. 3. FREE parking! 4. Price!! It is half the cost of hotels at Universal. 5. Location - you can walk to just about anything you would need or if you are up to doing the touristy attractions, you are minutes away and the 101 is right out the front door. Oh speaking of, don't get to caught up in "the view" or the patio. You are better off seeking a quiet room with the amenities you want. Overall, this place was perfect for my needs. I will stay again and use this experience to make sure I ask for a suite on the backside of the hotel that is far from the lobby. If it wasn't for the excellent service, I'd given this hotel less of a rating. The hotel itself not so much. The elevator felt very unstable, the hallway smelled like poop, the bed was lumpy and round? felt like you could roll off it, if you got too close to the edge. The walls were thin enough to hear the lady next door flicking her bean. The size of the room was nice. We rented a room to have a quick getaway after a stressful move. Sadly, our stay added to the stress as opposed to easing it. We were in a second floor "suite" which was basically a large room with a sofa & a bed, no divider or anything. We were woken up after one hour of sleep to hear (and feel) kids running up and down the third floor hall. We called the front desk and they did ask the kids to stop running in the hall, but then the kids were all in the "suite" above ours. At that point we left -- it was truly the most expensive shower and glass of wine I have ever had. Where to begin... driving in to tandem parking with hopes that you can drive in or out at your convenience. Advertised as a resort and spa with no amenities open. Had to haul luggage up the stairs as the elevator was not working. Walking down the hallway full of old stained carpet to the room left horrible impression. Entering the room to same old carpet, old, damaged, and stained furniture, having to hold the toilet handle down to flush while listening to the shower drip all night. This "resort and spa" was anything but. To top it off, they have the nerve to charge a $75 resort fee to the bill. Also advertised as close to Universal Studios.. hope you enjoy waking 10 minutes across numerous busy intersections just to get the shuttle. Needless to say...first and only visit to the sadly miss advertised motel. read more

The hotel is very clean and friendly. The room was spacious, very clean, well-stocked and had comfortable big beds and good towels. Perfect for a family. The parking was strange. If you're lucky enough to get a single space, then all is well. However, the majority of spaces are for double parking and they ask you to leave your keys at the front desk in case they need to move your car. Uhh .... No. The shared open patio is a pretty cool space but that also means that other guests can walk by your windows and sliding glass door. There's even a stick in the glass door for security. Not sure how I feel about that yet. Proximity to the Universal Studios free tram pick-up spot is not a bad walk. If you are looking for something nice but more reasonably priced than the Universal Studios Hotels, this is a good spot. read more

Complete dump. I checked in at 10:30 pm once I got to room 224 had noticed mold in the shower. I went down to the front desk and Luna upgraded me to room 217. By the time I checked in to the room learned there was no HEAT, the room was 65 degrees. When did calling to complain Abraham said the room did not have heat, WTH? then said I could yet transfer to another room, went and looked not much difference. I had to ask for extra blankets, not offered smh. When putting extra blankets on the bed I noticed a large cum stain on the sheets, nice touch. Floors we're sticky, black gook spots throughout. Toilets barely flushed and have a motor rev sound, believe me, recorded it, microwave dirty, total dump. I left to go buy Lysol to spray my bags and Benedryl due to having an allergy reaction to the mold. Upon returning packed up and check out asap, so disgusting, disputed charge also how they stay in business blows my mind. They should make the owner live there for running such a dump! read more

We stayed here for a little family vacation for Christmas. Check-in was odd, she didn't even look at me. Toilet wasn't working properly and they just left a plunger at the door. Kind of odd. Anyways, we were in a rush during checkout because we wanted to beat traffic. We accidentally left our game system there. We get home and realized no one actually grabbed the system. We called and they said they found it snd for us to get UPS postage, email it to them, so they can return it us. I did just that. I received my package yesterday (01/02/2024). They sent it wrapped in bubble wrap, without my cooler, but I don't care about the cooler. Pretty sure they did that so they can put it in a smaller box. I'm grateful that I got my Nintendo Switch back but they stole my video game, Mario Kart Deluxe 8. You have to open the cartridge, press eject for it to come out of the system. I called them and they told me that they will have a Manager call me. Still haven't heard back, nor have they responded to my emails. Really disappointing. They really need to look into the thieves they have working there. Despicable. I understand it's my fault for leaving it in the first place but that does't subject my things to being stolen. This was by far, one of the nicest hotes I've ever stayed at. The beds were so comfortable, the pillows were like marshmallows, and the shower...omg. i want this shower at home! There were 2 adjustable shower heads with wonderful water pressure. Surprising, considering water restrictions. Also, not many places provide shower gel but this place does and smells good too! The lobby was so chic and greeting us at the door was complementary lemon/strawberry water. The hotel vibe was very trendy and bright. Very close to lots of touristy attractions too. The downside... The price for parking. $31 a night! However, we got lucky. You can park at the meter after 6pm until 6am for free and parking is free on Sunday at the street as well. read more

Horrible water pressure, toilet didn't work, room phone didn't work. We told the lady at the front desk we did not have a working toilet and she said there was nothing she could do bc they were sold out. She offered to refund our $25 parking fee l for the inconvenience... smh I told her no we need a working bathroom. Then they even came to our room and threatened to tow our car if we didn't move it immediately even when they instructed us to park in the spot. Worst hotel experience ever. Don't be fooled by the pictures the hotel looks nice on website but it is an old building that they remodeled very cheap/poor craftsmanship. This place was really nice and clean. It's a boutique hotel so it's not that big, it only has three floors but the rooms are nice and spacious. Also it's only a 10min walk to Universal studios. Our room had two queen beds which was very comfy. The room had a whole another seating area that has a couch, another tv, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was pretty big as well. There was a lot of room. We didn't feel cramped, my kids were able to run around in the room without bumping into anything. The staff were friendly and accommodating. However there were few minor things I didn't like about the hotel. For instance I didn't like that fact that they charge $10/night for a crib. Every hotel I've ever stayed at don't charge for cribs. Maybe they've charge for roll away beds but not for cribs. Then when they brought it up to my room it wasn't even put together. I think they expected me to put it together which I didn't know how to do. Another thing when I've asked for a crib at other hotels, it was all put together with sheets by the time they've brought it up to my room. So for them to charge me $10/night and expect me to put the crib together is kinda irritating. Anyways I looked at the staff that brought the crib to my room and told him i didn't know how to put the crib together. So He kindly did it for me. But I don't know how other guest have dealt with this situation. My point is they shouldn't charge for cribs especially if it's not put together when they bring it up to your room. And last I didn't like how they charge $30/day for parking. I get it the hotel wants to make their money but that's a little much for parking considering that their nightly rate is not so cheap either. I choose this hotel because it is walking distance to universals studios and city walk from the hotel however I was unaware of the parking fee which I should've looked more into on my part. Overall, I do like the cleanliness of this hotel. However Im not sure if I would stay here again because they do break your pockets. If anyone does decide to stay here just be prepared for the extra charges. read more
