My boyfriend and I had gotten a room here before and were happy with it so we thought we would treat ourselves to a suite and enjoy the weekend relaxing and cooking. The room they gave us was horrible! Simply put it was not ready and was in need of a major reno! The cabinet handles were falling off. The stove was old and a bit dirty. There was even old popcorn in the corner of the kitchen. Well since we were there we thought we could make due. Then I tried to cook dinner. There was nothing there! Nothing to cook with. No pots or pans, no plates, not even silver ware . Since we camp I figured we could still make due. When I was ready to cook I turned on the oven and then the stove but no heat, no fire. I called the front desk and after a bit if an argument and 40 mins a girl came to our door. She had very few things but I still had my own. My boyfriend help her by pulling out the stove and turning on the gas . Then the knobs on the stove fell off. The girl said she would be back after she found a wooden spoon but we never saw her again. It went on and on. Both TVs needed to be programed. We needed tp and more towels. I kept sneezing due to dust. They gave a book explaining their rules and if things them was how much they will charge your credit card if things were missing after check out. Well there was not any robes or extra towels or water in the fridge so I gad to call to desk again and tell them this. Yes they sent someone to check. I again need to say why would they rent a room out if it was not ready? For over $399 a night it just was not worth it. It wouldn't be worth it for $60 a night. This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and the reason I came back was the excellent price. I payed only 125 a night for a clean modern hotel that is about 20 mins from Beverly hills... Which is where i need to be but don't wanna pay 300+ a night for hotel room. Rooms are clean and modern but I think the laundry is on the 3rd floor cause it smells like detergent up there lol The showers are big walk in with 2 faucets one in front of you and one from the ceiling which has excellent water pressure The only downside to this hotel for me was the first time I stayed here my room faced the freeway and every time a big truck passed by you would hear a loud noise... Annoying if your a soft sleeper, luckily I'm not so I gave it 4 stars. read more

Overpriced and unhelpful. They charge for parking but don't say that till you check in. They have a pool that is literally the size of one parking spot-but we discovered it because we parked near it. The staff never mentioned it or it's location-which is in a far corner of the parking garage. Creepy and dark. If you need anything extra, like 2 towels, calling the front desk is a joke. They don't answer the phone for at least 30 minutes. Then it's at least another hour, during which time, you've physically gone to the desk to get the towels and they turned you away because "someone will bring them to your room soon." Oh and they sell your room while you're still in it. Nothing like waking up at 630am because a man has just entered your room with his key card. WTF! My kids and I were asleep and woke up shocked. The staff mumbled their apologies and supposedly deactivated the key cards. The only thing that was nice was that the room was clean. But that's basic hotel stuff. The hotel mixed my reservation with another family members reservation and charged two different reservations in one credit card and could not fix it until our check-out day. We reserved a two bed room and they only gave us one bed and said they would wheel in another bed but then told us they didn't have any more so we had to have someone sleep on the couch. The pillows did not look clean. There was stains on the pillows, sheets, and towels. Also the parking fee is $30 per night. Our room window is was facing a concrete wall next to the hotel. We have had the best stay in Studio City!!! Super close to Universal City Walk Tram. The hotel itself is amazing. Our air conditioner broke on our second day and the front desk immediately moved us up to a suite without any extra charge. The smell throughout the entire hotel smells so good I wish I could bottle it and take it home to my house. I'm here now for my fiancé's birthday weekend and I couldn't be more than disappointed. We booked a suite with patio access and were given a standard room. Mind you, the room was paid for in advance and we were not advised of any changes. When asked why we were in a standard room we were told they "sold out" of the room we reserved, which doesn't make sense, because we paid for it. I have stayed here before but never in a standard room and I can say there is a big difference. The cleanliness was subpar and the furniture is dingy. To make matters worse, it smells like toilet water in here. We will be going home early because this is just not enjoyable. read more

We just checked out yesterday and we really had a great comfortable stay. We arrived earlier than the check in time but they found a room right away so we can eat after a long drive. This is our first time being in this hotel, and is probably the most clean and cozy one compared to the ones we stayed when we were at Disneyland and Legoland. It's only a short walking distance to the Universal Studios shuttle bus stop and we went to the walk of fame by using the metro rail transport which was very very convenient as we prefer not to drive there. Variety of food can be found nearby this hotel and the Subway there opens 24hours just in case if you're hungry at night. We had actually reserved next door since we were not expecting to stay the night. Before even checking out the room we decided to take a look into BLVD, why not? From the moment we walked in we were very well received by Siri whose professionalism really outstanding. She gave us a key to be able to view the room which was beautiful. We decided to still take a look next door anyway... Boy did we come running back to BLVD! My fiance even described it as culture shock ESPECIALLY because of the face of the company. Siri was attentive and lovely but always professional... Next door... Not so much! Siri was definitely a big factor in deciding to come back and stay at BLVD. I normally don't bother w/ bad reviews as I feel guilty, but months later I'm still quite angry. Went w/ BLVD as it's walking distance from Universal Studios shuttle AND the cost was cheeper then the Sheraton with the promotion if you booked more than a week in advance we could save over $250 for 3 night wknd stay, but after hidden fees the price was back to the original quoted (I believe $20 less then the Sheraton). I typically stay at Days Inn, Comfort Inn, Best Western etc. quality level hotels, so my expectations are generally moderate; just clean & comfortable. However, this was my Honeymoon so I searched for a hotel w/ good reviews &I expected it to be at least as good as my normal hotel stay.I knew about the $30 a day parking pass & made plans to avoid that cost. I didn't know they don't have hot breakfast & the newspaper stand of a breakfast nook was crazy expensive & 1/2 the things they had were expired. Went hungry. I figured this hotel was ripping people off by taking advantage of the expectation that because it's LA things will be expensive. The water bottle in the hotel cost $5. Less then 2 blocks away a water bottle at the 24 hr Subway was about $1. That night the pillow case was like sand paper, it woke me up 5 times between 2am (when we arrived) & 6 am. My face must have smoothed it out because each night it got better. The bed was extremely hard, gave me back pain, &I like firm mattress. My husband thought it was fine but he sleeps on the tile floor for an afternoon nap & finds that comfortable so consider the source. The room was unimpressive & cheep looking, found it minimally disappointing for a honeymoon, otherwise, fine. There were 3 light bulbs in the ceiling above the bed, only 1 worked. The towels REAKED of bleach (I have Eczema so this is a bigger deal to me then most, at least they were clean) Directions on how to use the complex shower were incorrect. Exercise room had 1 or 2 treadmills & 2 exercise bikes, that's it, there wasn't room for anything else, no weights, no benches, no mats. My husband works out 6 days a week, I told him not to bother. Pool was closed for scheduled maintenance all weekend, but despite talking to front desk a day before &checking website I had no idea it would be closed. Apparently it's also a tiny pool. I was a lifeguard for 8 years, unless they were changing the tile, routine maintenance shouldn't take more than a few hours... that includes cleaning the pool. The next day we came back midday for a nap, (my husband was getting over a cold). The room smelt musty so I opened the balcony door. On the balcony was a full garbage bag tied off, gross. I attempted to use the internet while my husband slept, couldn't get it to work after 40 min despite following directions provided. I had made sure BOTH forms of do not disturb communication provided (the door handle hanger was on the outside of the door, AND the button next to the door that made a red light appear in the hallway that was to signify that we not be disturbed). Then I needed a 20 min nap alongside my husband. I set a timer on my phone. I hadn't slept more than 5 minutes & the HOTEL PHONE RANG!?!?!? A woman who could speak some, but not much English, asked if I needed my room clean. I told her the do not disturb signs were up, she seemed confused. I explained that I was sleeping when she called, still seemed confused. I told her we didn't need new towels but there was a full garbage bag on the balcony from a previous occupant that could be removed & she seemed to understand that as she replied "I didn't work yesterday". I told her I would bring her the bag. I was too upset to fall back to sleep. I left & warned the front desk I was upset & would report after I calm down. When we got back, I reported all of these things, calmly & respectfully. They seemed to take a report(no one called to follow up so idk), offered no apologies, just 20 min of comments about how frustrated they are about hearing guests complaints & nothing being dealt with/solved. They said they "cant do anything, all the people w/ authority to do something are at home" (so call those people gosh darn it! I'm very unsatisfied guest) "we don't have corporate $ to fall back on" (I was front desk at a non-corporate hotel for a summer with 10%-25% discount for dissatisfied guests). Offered us 1 free drink at the bar, or a puff of his vape pen. (We were leaving early in the morning & didn't want to feel gross the next day so that was hardly a compensation, plus, gross) Excuses for why the maid called the room (the point I was most frustrated with) "others have left the sign out then complain their room isn't clean" (Come on, don't make other guests stupidity my problem, I followed the directions, I should NOT have been disturbed!). This place left me with a dark stain on the memory of my honeymoon. If there was a small compensation I might have felt better. Recommend you book at Sheraton! read more

STOP...PLEASE!!! Do not make the mistake we made and trust other review/booking sites. If you do not want to hear the details, heed the warning and look at the end of my post. We were tentative booking this because of the many negative reviews on Yelp, but the other sites(namely Booking.com) had reasonable reviews, so we decided to take the plunge....straight into the toilet it turned out. First the location is not as it is described. It seemed like we were coming into an upscale halfway house. Right next to a storage facility and a stones throw from the freeway. The 'BLVD' sign as shown on the add was there and if you took out everything around it, looked like a 4 star hotel. YEAH!! There were many interesting characters lingering around(inside and out). Some of them employees (they stood out because their pants were not hanging on their thighs) and the others in for a rapping competition I guess. I walked up to the front desk where 2 young, disinterested employees looked at me with a bothered stare. I explained we were booked in the family suite. NOTE: the family suite sales point is adjoining rooms so a large family can be together. She proceeded to tell me the good news that we had been upgraded to 2, 2 queen suites, because they had sold out of the family suites. Great! Not so much....The rooms were not connected. I explained that the goal of my family vacation with my wife, 9yr old son and 10 year old daughter was to be together. She said "Yeah. Sorry. We are out of the family suite, but you got upgraded." We went back and forth about the reason this was not an upgrade in my mind. I asked for the manager a few times and after the 3rd request she acquiesced and called. He would be there in a few minutes. Knowing what would happen in the end, I started to scramble and Googled family suite options in the area. Found a Loews nearby and called. They were mostly booked up, but hearing my story in progress worked some magic. After 20 min they came up with an adjoining room/suite option, discounted 20% (I didn't ask for it). I went back to the lobby to check the status of the manager. He still hadn't arrived. I folded and booked the Loews. It cost me 180 more per night, but more space, awesome location and huge suite with 2 rooms. Manager showed up about the same time and talked to my wife about other options(what could there be if they were sold out?). We walked out telling him that we would be sure nobody makes the same mistake. He said "you can say whatever you wish on reviews, but I am offering to make it right"...LOL HOW!?!! if you are thinking about giving BLVD a try..dont. there are many other options available. My experience with the BLVD Hotel & Spa was to say it nicely; a nightmare. I want to chronicle what happened here to make a record of the numerous bad acts committed by the management here. I don't want to blame the front desk people, who by the way could not have been over the age of 20 and thus seemed unprofessional and not well trained to handle any situation. I came to LA to visit my uncle who is ill and so this trip was already not one for pleasure really. I decided to book a room here because I had originally booked one at the Sportsmen's Lodge nearby but my cousin talked me out of staying there. Saying that although the $109/night price was attractive she had heard the rooms left a lot to be desired. Later, my cousin who lives in Studio City told me she had seen the The BLVD and it looked nice so I should try it out. I called, and had good service on the phone so I was very excited about our (my boyfriend and my) stay. Because we were with family all day we asked the hotel for a late check-in so we could roll in after a semi-early dinner. When we arrived I asked the girl checking me in if she could recommend a bar or restaurant outside of the hotel where I could meet a few friends for a drink that night. Somewhere quiet to chat. Her response was rude. Telling me she had no idea because she was not 21 so how could she possibly know. I am sure I have been given great advice before by young hotel workers where I would have never suspected their age. As we check-in they asked me to sign a waiver making me swear I would not smoke in the room. As a non-smoker this seemed sort of self evident to me. So I happily signed the paper. When we got into our room the window was open and the loud sounds from the street were blaring through the window. This was not annoying to me actually. And I realized why the window had been open - it smelled like someone had been smoking a tabacco pipe in the room for days on end. The smell was so noxious, so powerful that I started feeling like I had to throw up. I immediately called downstairs to alert them of the smell. Later I realized their first admission of guilt was opening that window. When I called downstairs the young man at the desk said he would have to come upstairs to investigate the smell. It took him a few minutes but he came up. acknowledged the pungent smell and after I asked him if we could now switch rooms he would then have to ask his manager. I was a bit annoyed by this, that the "guest services" guy could not actually give any guest services. He instructed me to wait in the room (which I had no interest in because it smelled) and that he would soon call me on the telephone to relay what his manager would have to say. So we wait, finally he calls and says that he talked to his manager who was not on premises and that there was no way to move us because the only other hotel room available did not have a functioning bathroom. I was infuriated. I had made my reservation early, I had already given them my credit card and I was absolutely exhausted from dealing with seeing my ailing uncle. I just wanted a place to put my bags down and go get a drink. I asked if they would at least discount or comp the room for us and while we were gone, spray some fabreeze or get a big fan in there. The guest services guy said he would have to call me back AGAIN. As I am waiting I start feeling like I am literally going to get sick from this smell. He finally calls me back and tells me that no, in fact, they will not give me a discount, they will not try to allieviate the smell and that I will have to leave right away if I don't want to get charged for the night which, they consider a favor. It's 9:45PM by this time, I know nothing about LA and have literally no where to stay. If I were in their place, I might have said "Hey, this totally sucks, we're totally sorry. We're new and still trying to figure things out. Please let us help you find a near by hotel room in the same price range" Instead, the manager refused to speak to me on the phone and had these young front desk workers fumbling over words trying to explain why they could not help us. . As we go downstairs to check out to the front desk the two workers there are constantly answering ringing phones and not paying any attention to my boyfriend and I. I finally snap at them and ask them to please give me a piece of paper stating they did not charge us. As this is happening the manager calls to ask what had happened with us. I ask the male "guest services" guy to let me please speak to the manager. He tells me the manager will be first thing in the morning at 11am (!!!) and that he will call me then. I found that completely unacceptable and finally convince the kid to hand me the phone. The manager Yousef is unapologetic, a poor communicator and oblivious to the fact this has ruined my night. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

This is by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life!!! Do not stay here these people are scam artists! I booked one night in their "family suite" for my friends bachelorette party. We arrived at check in time, 3 pm. The front desk girls told us our room would be ready in a few minutes. One hour and a half later we finally got up to our room only to find out our keys didn't work. We eventually got working keys and walk into our family suite that is really just two standard rooms with and adjoining door. This is how they advertise the family suite online, it's very misleading. One of the girls from the front desk came into our room to unlock the adjoining door, and it was broken it wouldn't open all the way. She tells us that it would be fixed be the time we got back after we went out that night. It was never fixed. The elevator door closes while people are in the walkway it slammed my arm and it also smacked one of my friends in the face. As if all this was not bad enough, we never made one official complaint. The day after checking out I get $200 worth of charges on my credit card. I call to see what it's about and the girl tells me that we painted on one of the chairs in one room and on the other chair we wrote on it with a pen. My group of friends are from the ages of 25-30, why would we vandalize a room. I honestly think they knew we went out and had some drinks for my friends bachelorette party and decided to take advantage of us. Completely unacceptable! Now I've been trying to get a hold of the manager and he won't talk to me. First he's busy with a guest then he's in a meeting. It's the worst costumer service I've dealt with in my life. So I contacted the Hotel group they are a member and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to file a complaint. The hotel group said they could not assist much since each are individually owned and operated but they set standards for each hotel to follow. The hotel group contacted Mr. Yousef and asked him to contact me re: our complaint. A month went by, and I heard nothing. I contacted the hotel group again, and they said they were troubled since Mr. Yousef told them he had contacted me. I said, no, have not heard from the guy. I asked the hotel group to have him contact me in writing via email and to cc them. He then wrote he attempted to reach me "several times" and he provided "evidence" to my bank I was smoking and would not refund my $250 additional charge. I was pregnant when I stayed here, and was not even a smoker before I got pregnant. He finally provided his direct contact line. My husband called and 1) Mr. Yousef hung up on him after Mr. Yousef told my husband to "call him back in 15 minutes" and my husband replied, "No, because you refuse to communicate with us, we need to resolve this matter now". 2) My husband called back and he told my husband "his pregnant wife was a liar" and everything I submitted to the BBB was a lie. Wow, what a way of doing business, Mr. Yousef, General Manager of the BLVD hotel. I am re-opening the investigation with my bank. Don't ever stay here, fellow Yelpers, if you don't want to go through absolute nonsense and get overcharged. What person calls a pregnant lady a liar and gets her all upset and stressed out? My advice: don't stay here. I don't know whether the hotel just isn't finished being built or whether they just don't care, but the place was a mess - our bathroom door was literally peeling apart, the soap holder in the shower had fallen off and the shower was was covered in adhesive they didn't bother to clean off. Our friends' room was worse - the ceiling started leaking at 3 am and then the hot water didn't work in the room they were transferred to. And don't get me started on the terrible, terrible bartenders in the lobby bar. Plus, the spa wasn't open yet when we stayed, despite the fact they had told us it would be available when we made our reservation. Maybe someday this will be a worthwhile hotel - it is very convenient location and the rooms are big (but really dark. can they not afford lamps?) - but for right now, stay away. read more

When I left they were having issue printing receipts and said they would email me mine. I handed them my email address and left. I had to work the day I left so Monday I realized that I had left 2 brushes in a blue bag in the room. When I called I left my name and phone number and they said someone would get back to me within 24 hours. I never received an email and I never got a call. I called a few days ago and the rep was helpless and useless. Not only did he not help me with my brushes I left in the room but he also said he couldn't find my reservation from last month. NOT at all what I expected. First off, parking is stupid. If you are first in the stall, you run the risk of getting blocked in by a person that HAS to park behind you. If you are second in the stall, you HAVE to leave your keys with the front desk so that if the person you are blocking in has to leave, they can move your car for you. On to the hotel... when I made my reservation on-line it asked the standard questions like "what dates" and "how many guests"... I put in 3 guests, and it gave me what I thought, a list of rooms that accommodated 3 people! I reserved the King Suite which said had a separate living area with couch and separate TV. I just figured since it gave me that option, I assumed the couch converted to a sofa bed. It didn't ! My son had to sleep on a white leather sofa, which I had to call down and request sheets and blankets for. Beyond that, for some odd reason, both TVs in the room did not work. My husband finally looked behind the TVs and noticed that both of them weren't even hooked up to the directv box... he had to connect both. Only good thing was the 2 free drinks from the bar during happy hour which we totally needed after checking in to this place. OH but to add a cherry to this sundae, I ordered a mojito and had to wait 30 minutes for it because apparently they had to run to the market down the street for some of its ingredients! Why not just tell me you don't have the stuff so I can order something else !! Will NOT be staying here ever again! read more

Wanted to have a relaxing holiday weekend and booked two nights here with some friends and we all had a great time at the BLVD. we love that this place has a bar area where we can chill and hang out. There are so many fun things to do around this hotel. Many restaurants around. I was recommended this place by a friend and now I would like to past the message on to the rest reading this. No I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Spa was open for 5 minutes, then closed and I never saw it open again. The shower was pitifully weak. The enclosure was large, but the water had such low pressure I had to stand next to the wall to get a sprinkling of water on me. The internet stated a 15% discount if you display your Hollywood Bowl tickets. I did, but they insisted it was only 10%. I was too tired to argue. The light switch was cracked, which caused me concern of getting shocked. $15.00 for parking is ridiculous and made me feel like I was getting "ripped off". The caulking on the soap dish was falling off. And, there were no flowers in the little vase on the vanity. It just seems lame to have a vase, but no flowers. The hotel does not have a restaurant. It exudes pretentiousness, and can't even deliver on the simple amenities. The best thing I could say, is that I liked the Neutrogena products. We booked 3 nights here a few weeks back. We liked the layout and photos on their website and it was walking distance from Universal Studios where we were taking the kids this year. The rooms were close to $200 per night. I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton but I didn't expect what we were in for. First, upon arriving, the bell man who greeted us at the entrance didn't help with the luggage. He just let me use the luggage cart. When we got to the room, the room was really dark even with all the lights on. It just gave you a gloomy feeling. The next morning, my wife found a roach in the bathroom. I killed it and emptied the trash before more of them came in. We were really freaked out (especially my wife). When we headed out I told the attendant in the lobby about the roach but she didn't seem surprised. She didn't offer to change the room but she did offer us $60 off our almost $800 bill. Other irritating issues was the TV remote which was really hard to operate with their satellite system. Overall, our stay was really unpleasant as we couldn't get a good sleep with knowing there might be more roaches in the room. We had to "shake" everything out before packing up to leave and we shook it out again when we got home. They did end up discounting us a whole day's stay which was decent of them to do but I think it they could've at least offered us a different room or to relocate us to another hotel. We could've stayed at a Motel 6 for $60 bucks if we didn't mind roaches in the rooms. read more

YO... my family and I have been staying here for the past three months due to the Porter Ranch gas leak. This hotel is located right off the Lankershim exit. The BLVD hotel is the yummy cream filling to a nasty Oreo cookie, as it is smacked right between two sketchy ass looking hotels, "The Nite Inn", and the "Universal Inn". If you're considering staying at one of those hotels you should probably walk back to the tasty white cream filling and just stay there. You feel me? You may say "don't judge a hotel by it's appearance", but nah, that is where you are wrong. If a hotel looks like it's housing bugs, infections, syringes, and a boatload of other mysterious elements then I advise not to stay at it. Be safe and smart, stay at the BLVD. It's walking distance to Universal Studios, which is dope if you have kids, or want to take a fine date up there. Their bar, "The Backdrop Lounge" serves happy hour everyday from 5pm-7pm. The happy hour special offers one free alcoholic beverage from their select list. FREE alcohol?? Aiyyyyyoooo... this is the spot to pre-game before you have a fun night, especially for lightweights like me. They have a TV usually playing sports or a great flick. Every Wednesday they have movie night where the hotel guests can come to the first floor and watch a movie together. That's lowkey kinda cute yo. I ain't ever seen this many random people enjoying each other's company. It was kinda inspiring to be honest my G. Well lemme move on and get to the room. As I exit the elevator I am hit with an interesting citrus aroma in the hallways. I wonder how many times they apply that throughout the day. Who's job is that? Anyways, I then get to my room, swipe my card key, open the door, and realize what the good life is like. Inside this spacious room lies a clean bed with six pillows, one of which is orange. It is also home to a flat screen mounted on the wall, air conditioning, a desk, a couch, ottomans, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a balcony. The bed is pretty comfy, and I can stretch on it without falling off, unlike my twin bed at home. The restroom is clean, the shower hits you with water from the ceiling so you feel like a God, and also has another shower head at eye level just in case you feeling spoiled. The cleaning crew always stock the basic amenities so you can smell like a walking soap dispenser if need be. I've had a couple rooms here so I can give you a more objective review than some of these nay-sayers I'm seeing spew hate on the internet. When I changed rooms the employee Janice was really helpful, and she even hooked it up with a balcony. Janice is dope, if you see her dap her up. Other employees that made my stay extra cool would be Megan and Rebecca. Everyone here made me feel welcome though. This hotel has been fully booked for the past few months, and each employee, especially the ones I named deserve a bonus for keeping me, my family, and other guests fully content. If you don't, then you probably gonna get ink on your brand new suit, or accidentally machine dry your clothes when ya meant to hang em, or run outta batteries when you're shaving your face, or dog poop on your front lawn, or something to that extent. I had never stayed here prior, but it was a fun, comfortable hotel for a great price in Studio City. The staff was kind, and their fruit infused water in the lobby was so refreshing. I was given credit for snacks at their little food store by checking in on Yelp. Thank you! read more

Front desk personnel are all young and hip looking in their all black attire. Main check in area extremely small with the elevator right there. They used most of the space for a bar of course. Hallways to the rooms are eclectic and kept dimly lit to appear mysterious. However, it is mostly to hide the chipped paint and dirty carpets. The view from our room was of an outdoor seating area which is situated right next to the garbage dumpster WTF? For $300 plus extra CA charges and tax I expected much more than chipped mirrors, flooring coming up, mold growing in the shower, scuffed furniture and poor quality mattresses. It was quite and conveniently located to universal but that's it. Take your money somewhere else on this trip. This is motel 6 quality. Oh, and FYI they charge $24 a day to double park your car on site. read more

The location is great... That about it. When I entered the room I see some errors like mismatch paint in the room and the bathroom ceiling was unfinished work. We booked on thier website and were extremely pleasantly surprised, not knowing what to expect for the price. The room was large, VERY clean, and nice. The pool was just the right size for little children. The cafe was incredibly reasonably priced. We got a fresh made waffle, an apple, a muffin, milk and OJ for $5. I was sure they didn't calculate it all in, but they checked and said it was correct to my surprise! The walk in shower was really nice, love the "rain fall" shower head!! Stayed in King Suite. Came to visit Univ Studios for a few days. Room was trendy, and clean... but kind of "Cheap" trendy, if that makes sense, however a lot of room, and very comfortable. It was more of a small feel hotel as far as the lobby and staff, which isn't a bad thing. The bar/lounge was very small and service was pretty slow. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there is a small "snack bar". However there are a number of restaurants that deliver, so that's cool. Most of them kind of greasy options, but good none the less. The internet was pretty bad, but it was free. Just seemed off and on. As far as location, it was great. Very Close to whatever you would need, even within walking. Not to Univ Studios... but there is a shuttle very close. It's not that much to just park there though, like 25 dollars for preferred parking. Worth it. View from the rooms? Eh, there aren't really any... unless you consider the top of a few buildings and the freeway entrance a view. Little road noise, nothing terrible. Would I stay here again? If it was the only "nicer" hotel available... sure. Wouldn't seek this place out again though. read more

Where to start... So I am tired and exhausted from a three hour drive. I'm ready to jump in bed and pull the sheets, only to notice a huge yellow stain on the bed sheet. I let staff members know they said they would be up to change the sheets. I decide to go grab a bite to eat at a near by in and out and when I come back. The front desk informed me there's no more fitted sheets? Really? You're a hotel. So they go on to tell me that the placed a flat sheet instead. Annoyed, I head up to my room, and the old dirty sheets were left on the floor!!!!!!!! I was too tired and sleepy to complain. I went to bed. Checked out the next morning. They asked how my stay was and I mentioned last nights catastrophe and all the girl had to say was "we will take that into consideration" Although all the staff was nice, the cleanliness of the establishment is really at question. I mean really my grandmother could have spotted that stain! For someone to make the bed over it like nothing is there is plain disgusting! read more
