Angela was such a pleasure! We were not planning on staying in LA but at the last minute decided to do so. The Sheraton was sold out and I found this hotel on the Internet; was a little worried because I had never heard of this hotel before. Fortunately, Angela was working and she was so helpful on the phone and when we arrived. It didn't stop there either! Upon first inspection of our room the look was clean and pleasing, however when I opened the door to the bathroom, the smell was horrendous! I immediately reported the problem to the front desk and asked to have our room changed. She said the rooms were sold out, but would send someone up to fix the problem. A man shortly came into our room with only a bottle and left our room after spending less than 10 seconds "fixing" the problem. When I opened the door to the restroom, it now had the strong scent of Pinesol mixed with fecal matter/sewage. I chased the man into the lobby and asked if that was all he could do to resolve the issue and he stated that the problem was from the pipes and there was nothing left to do. I asked if that was a problem with all the rooms or just ours and did not get a clear response. I went straight back downstairs to the front desk to see if there was anything else we could do and she insisted that they were completely booked and that perhaps we could get a discount pending her supervisor's approval. I love a good deal, but if I got the room for free, it would have still cost too much. (And this is saying a lot coming from me.) I asked if all people had checked into their rooms already and if not couldn't we be switched to one of those rooms? I'm not sure why I needed to come up with this solution, but after I posed this, she reluctantly agreed to have us try out another room on the same floor. The new room was fine. No odor. 1 star for the terrible odor of the bathroom and the poor service in handling the problem. If this is an ongoing issue, the management needs to be up front about this and offer it at significantly lower cost to those who have a strong stomach and have no fear of potential health issues from breathing whatever it is that is emanating from the pipes. Avoid room 320! And I'm guessing there are probably other rooms with the same problem. read more

Pluses:. Very close to Universal Studios Hollywood. Just walk under 101 and catch the tram across from the Metro. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean and well appointed with refrigerator, microwave, small eating table, desk. At the time we stayed (Feb '19) they were offering 1 free happy hour beer or wine in the bar. The not so good:. Hwy 101 is right across the street so if the room is on that side it suffers from the constant traffic noise. Earplugs! Cable selection is terrible. WiFi is also terrible. Says you are connected but aren't really or connection speed is glacial. Our room had an unknown loud cracking noise coming from the sitting/kitchen area. We could never figure out where it was coming from. Earplugs. Shower features luke warm water from a rain head 6 feet above you. Luckily there was a nice hand wand that could be arranged closer, but water still not very hot. Otherwise a pretty nice small mid-level "boutique" hotel. BTW parking your car here was $35/day! Ouch. Thankfully we took LYFT from BUR, so saved over $100 during our 3 day stay. read more

While they're still working out some kinks, the staff at the Boulevard was really pretty responsive when I needed something taken care of. And they took good care of getting a shuttle for a group of about 35 to get to another hotel for a seminar. The room was comfortable and the lobby is pretty neat and kind of cozy. We had a great time chatting up the owner and hanging out at the bar for our last night. They were also fantastically flexible the way we kept changing the configuration of people in our room! read more

I had a tremendous stay at the BLVD hotel. The room was very large and modern. Our room multiple tvs and a waterfall shower. It was much more than I expected. The staff was great and provided tremendous service throughout our entire stay. Check in was fast, and checking out was very easy. I received extraordinary service from Niko and Tara, but everyone I encountered was pleasant and eager to assist me with whatever I needed. I would certainly stay at the BLVD hotel again, and I have already recommended the hotel to several of my friends. I would advise everyone to come stay at the hotel. read more

I was a little scared to stay here at first because of some of the reviews. First of all, we had no problem finding a parking spot in the garage. We arrived at about 9pm on a Friday night and there were a bunch of empty open spots.. They do charge $24 per night, but most other hotels charge more than that. There is transit parking across the street or metered parking on the street also. Other people in their reviews complained about the noise from other rooms or the street. I didn't hear any other people in rooms or in hallways the entire time we were there. Our room was also along the street, but the traffic outside was hardly noticeable. The hotel is in an extremely convenient location to Universal Studios. It's only a couple blocks to the Universal shuttle stop. The shuttle then takes you up the hill and drops you off right at the Universal entrance. One day we decided to take an Uber back to the hotel because we were tired and it was only $5. Overall, it's a comfortable, modern hotel. It was perfect for our weekend at Universal Studios. The paint and furniture could use a little touch up, but it was still better than other hotels we've stayed at in the area and cheaper! The rooms are good sized, clean, beds are comfy, and there is a kitchenette in room with a fridge and microwave! I recommend this hotel, especially if you're staying to be near Universal Studios! read more

DON'T DO IT!!!! My son booked everything for an early Mother's Day trip to Universal Studios. Im not sure where the pictures on the booking site are from. The place looked nice from the outside when we arrived at night, but once you get off the elevator...It looks like a "Rescue" Reality Show. The carpets are dirty & littered...Odd bright painted walls & doors. The rooms were dark, no matter how many lights we turned on. We arrived around midnight and just needed some sleep, I searched everything to check for any bugs & found nothing. But this morning (day 2) while sitting in the bathroom my mother saw a roach run across the floor...Needless to say our Mini-Vaca is OVER. We ran to Ralph's Grocery for roach spray. Sprayed all of our belongings so we can get the hell out of here! Oh and I'm not going to go into detail about the homeless community across the street...JUST DON'T DO IT!!!! read more

I recently went to the spa at the Blvd Hotel and let me tell you the service was great. The massage therapist Leyda was on point with the Blvd massage. I also got a facial by their esthetician Marisol and my skin feels smoother and alive. I came out feeling like a new person!! read more

The POOL, gym and lounge are closed. AGAIN not mentioned on their website or 3rd party website. The beds are horrible. Get ready for your back to ache. We chose this location for the proximity to Universal Studios, but I learned to just go ahead and pay the extra $100 per night for a room to stay in a 4 star hotel. This place looks awesome on their site but please don't believe it. The room is clean for the most part. Coffee is not drinkable, plenty of pillows but they have no support. Room is plenty big.The toilet leaked a little bit on our last day. The air conditioning worked great but it was loud and old. Our view outside of our window was of a wall with bird shit all over it. Overall it's not the worst place to stay but it's not even close to 2nd best. And the biggest lie they tell you on their website is that there is daily room service. However for the price it would be great if they offered one of the following.. Stayed here for a night and everything went pretty smooth. I don't see what all the complaints are about yeah the parking system is odd but they have it set up so if there's a car parked behind you when you need to get out they can move it out of the way. The hotel is chill and has a modern vibe to it. Rooms were clean and easy to find, beds were comfortable, and it seemed fresh and newly decorated. I felt it was a little pricey for what it was, although it provided what we needed. We came for a concert at the Hollywood bowl and was a short walk to the venue. Rooms have been updated and seemed fairly clean, but if you are wanting to enjoy a day at the pool, this is not the place for you. I want to start off by saying this company is very dishonest. No only was my experience not great I wrote a review on the company website and they will not let it appear on their website. If you look on it there is ONLY responses that are nice and sugary. I even wrote them again to tell them how dishonest they are. Do you think I will ever get a response from them? Ha...when hell freezes over. I really hope enough people read these reviews and that they are not written in vain. This place does have great potential, but potential is not what makes happy customers. Where to begin.....Firstly, I have never in my life had to pay for parking at the hotel I am staying at...$15.00 per night was ridiculous! Then the vending machines were empty and they responded by telling us if we wanted to come downstairs we couls buy some water, How about you come upstairs bring us some water and it to our bill, if you must and by the way two towels doesn't work for a family of four. We had to go downstairs to get more towels too! Ok, so we are in a town we are not familar with and tired and a bit hungry...we looked for anything in our room that could let us know what was nearby...Nothing. Not a pad of paper or pen or even the BIble that most hotels come equiped with. Granted we didn't need the bible, but it just goes to show you they are following no norms of hotel life at all. We were fortunate enough to get a room that had a back patio. Excited to check out this semi-private patio we were shocked to see nothing but concrete including a 12' concrete wall in front of us. Great place to stay if visiting Universal Studios! Just have to walk down the block to get to the tram, or if you really want to just head up the hill you'll be right at the park gates. Price is reasonable for LA. Quality is fine for what you are paying. Location is safe and parking is $31 a night and monitored. They double park if you need to, but we were consistently able to find our own spot. Rooms could use a little bit more carpet. Check out is at 11am, and at around 10:30am the housekeeper walked into the room without knocking even though the do not disturb light was on, caught us eating our breakfast. Quiet, didn't hear any neighbors, not even TVs. Shower is really nice. Lots of food options around. And you get a free drink of cheap wine or beer. Anyways, it's a fair priced place to stay if you are going to Universal! read more

Came here with some friends last Thursday for some drinks at the lounge. I think the owner served us at the bar. He was super nice and very friendly. They had a Dj playing some music which was cool. They also had some food trucks parked outside since they don't serve food. It was a nice treat. I can't wait to come back again and maybe stay overnight and try the spa. read more

This place blew me away! Its so reasonable in price and the rooms are very large. They have a very high tech fridge that's equivalent to a built in wine cooler. There is a separate space for a desk and couch. The bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is so awesome! The shower has one head that comes out of the ceiling and one detachable one. The design is so unique yet very fung shui. I went to school for interior design and loved the materials and color scheme of the hotel. Their staff is so nice and friendly and very happy. It give the place a great vibe and feels very welcoming. I think I found my spot for when I travel to LA! read more

Checked in at 9:15 pm, the hotel is a 2 minute drive exiting Universal Studios. The room we got was unexpectedly beautiful. My husband and I, after a long day at universal studios, walked through the room with amazement. From the elegant shower and bathroom to the modern feel and furniture, the room had a floor plan with a complete kitchen and stove. A flat screen TV and futon couch next to the kitchen. There were long curtains and upon opening them we found double doors leading to an outside secluded patio, complete with a patio set and modern Hollywood murals on the walls that made it a secluded patio. We were talking about coming back the next weekend just to stay in this room again. All that had to be done was pull back the sheets on the bed and inspect, as we would do at ANY hotel room. Upon removing the sheets we found a long black hair, obviously head hair. We could get past this, my husband picked up the provided pillows to find a little black curly hair under a pillow. Just as we are getting grossed out and determine that it is nothing but a black curly hair, a spider comes crawling from the edge of the bed. The spider crawls across the top of the bed and I hunt for a provided hotel cup. Get the cup over the spider and start to drag the cup across the bed to the edge. Well the spider crumbles under the cup and gets shredded leaving legs and body parts twitching, where our heads would be for the night. We immediately call downstairs and explain the situation. My husband gets a "this sometimes happens" response, then dead silence on the other end. When he brings up a discount, he gets cut off that the manager is not on duty and she can not authorize anything. No offer for clean sheets or for another room. We decided to drive the 3 hours home, even though we were exhausted and looked forward to a night in a nice, clean room. If the front desk attendant had offered a free drink at the bar while our sheets got changed and an inspection with us, or a different room that she could walk through with us, we would have stayed and be booked for the soonest possible weekend just for the room. I wish I could give this place 5 stars and suggest to anyone visiting universal studios or the area. We just had bad luck with the cleanliness of our sheets and an extra guest in the bed. read more

Stayed here with my boyfriend and was pretty impressed, everyone here was extremely nice and helpful. The lobby area has a nice small bar lounge area and you get a complimentary drink at the bar (beer/wine) when you check in, which was an added bonus. The room was really nice loved the decor, the only thing I could complain about is the lack of towels they had in the bathroom and the pool was relatively small located in the parking garage. This is a 'new' hotel, not a refurbished hotel...a NEW hotel! What I liked most is that it wasn't a typical 'chain' standard hotel. It is modern, clean, great location close to 101. The staff is nice, free parking, free wifi (though it didn't work while I was there). We rented the Suite with 1 King and 2 Queen Beds, it was great space and it had great decor. We loved our stay here. It was a good price for where we are located. You are next to Universal, right on Ventura, centrally located, they had a happy hour where you got one free beer or glass of wine each day, staff is friendly and helpful when asking questions about the area. Shower has two heads, one hand held and another that is above your head in the ceiling (loved that feature). We never heard any neighbors, soft music plays in the hall that you can only hear when in the hall. Oh yeah and a spa is located on the second floor. So very close to the highway, friendly front desk staff, we got the spacious room and it was great - so much bathroom counter space and a great mini-fridge. Only negatives would be the toilet doesn't like to flush all the time and the shower is a bit tricky to figure out at first. Also calling the three cardio machines a 'gym' is a giant stretch - especially when the recumbent bike didn't work. Would definitely stay here again though - it's also so very close to an In N Out Burger! read more

I met the owner a couple of years ago. He came into our Dealership to introduce himself and the new hotel. My Daughter and Family came to spend a few days and could not stay with us due to the fact my Husband had an autoimmune attack and is on medications to suppress his immune system, so I recommended this place, as it is close to our home here in Studio City. Never again! Both nights they had to make an office call, as people in the next room were fighting in their balcony, using fowl language etc. And also in the room above them. We realize the COVID is going on and pool and spa we're closed and we understand, but we have video of the bar being packed, no masks and no social distancing?! But, they couldn't bring us clean towels? We "have to put in an order?" Really?! I then asked for the Managers card. I called the number on the card. The lady who answered said, "there is no Manager here." This morning we went to pick them up, for breakfast, walked in, no hello and the elevator wreaked if marijuana. Sign said to wear mask. But I guess not at night, in the bar, crowded as hell. The world is crazy right now! People need to be a little more kind, and now more than ever, go the extra mile for your customer who just spent $600.00 for some peace and quiet, even without the pool and spa! Really disappointing, and very sad. I feel I should report them the the heath department, my Family was at risk. read more

The hotel room itself was really cute. Lighting in the room was pretty strained but overall we enjoyed the room vibe very much. And the staff we dealt with were basically friendly. However, I was really disappointed in the "spa" element which was the whole reason we stayed there. False advertising! There was no spa. Basically you could order for a massage therapist to come to the room to do a massage. It's nice to have that but it should be made clear before you arrive that is what they mean by spa. No other spa treatments and no spa amenities and I was not in the market for a massage. Secondly, they offer a nice complimentary draft beer or wine for guests during happy hour. Unfortunately this experience was spoiled as the bar was literally crawling with children behaving like zoo animals. It felt more like Chuck E. Cheese and not a swanky hotel bar. This environment did not entice us to buy a another and made me want to leave asap. The location was really nice and the parking (although pricey) was easy enough to access despite needing to leave keys with staff due to double parking requirements. We pre-booked our room but when we arrived they charged us again even after showing our paid confirmation. $28 a night for parking per car is pretty freaking ridiculous for such a pathetic motel (and don't be fooled, it is a glorified motel). Our room reeked of stale cigarette smoke even though they swore up and down there was no smoking. The paint and mirror in the bathroom were covered in scratches and the shower floor was sunken in the middle. We couldn't even take a full shower because the drain was so clogged the water nearly poured over the side after five minutes. The sheets are some of the stiffest and scratchiest I've ever felt and the bed is hard and full of lumps. Imagine a pillow that's been washed and dried improperly and the stuffing has knotted up, that's what the beds felt like. We'd been moving since 5 a.m. and checked in at 10:45 p.m. We were too exhausted to find another hotel but will never stay at disgusting place again. Oh, and there is no spa. Very cool features in room, glass front fridge, high regal bed, dump shower and 2nd shower head, very spacious rooms with generous work space. Staff will make you quality expresso and 24 hr breakfast health food snack bar is excellent. Full bar and lots oc work space in lobby. I got a bill for there being a shower cap placed over the smoke alarm. I did not place the shower cap over it, why would I? If I had I would have been smart enough to take it off! It's a scam they must do to cheat people out of money. Even though I disputed these charges I was charged 250! They charge 17 dollars per night for parking which is not advertised and honestly no one should stay there because the service is bad and parking is a pain. I've stayed at The Blvd Hotel; the front desk was very accommodating and put me in an upgraded suite. Great room, Very Modern design! Super affordable decent Hotel, not motel. Room- Super clean, modern look, with flat screen TV's goose-down comforters, fridge ... Full bar with lounge seating. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but they are located to many food places around the area in a walk distance, very convenient! Overall: If you looking for a affordable, modern, clean, friendly GREAT location in the Hollywood area try the BLVD hotel. it was very pleasant my family and I enjoyed it... We stayed at this Hotel on 3-20-19 thru 3-21-19 with my family. We had a major problem with this hotel due to having bed bugs i was bitten on both legs. I saw the Bed Bug Bite on my legs after I got into the shower Wednesday night. We call downstairs to let them know about our situation and he came right up to talk to us about this problem. They ended up sending us to another room. Just remember this is at 10pm and we have a 4 year old and 1 year old so if you have kids you know how hard it is to put them back to sleep. Once the morning came my wife went down to talk to management and pretty much got the go around from him (Mohammad) he also told us that we were lucky they put us in the suite room because they don't offer that room to just anyone!!!! Like we give to shit about what room they put us in!!! Well long story short they didn't give us a refund basically told us we weren't good enough to stay in there suite. I will never stay at this hotel again!!! Just because you put lipstick on a pig doesn't change the fact its still a pig. read more

We booked this hotel because it was close to universal studios where we were working on Kung Fu panda 2. The location was great, and the staff at first was pretty friendly, but young and unexperienced. Unfortunately this is where the positive takes a dive. This hotels been recently renovated....but you cant tell at all.. The rooms are tiny, they used the cheapest flooring and the furniture is VERY DARK and SO SMALL! The lounge is falsely advertised. Its VERY small and uncomfortably weird being placed in the tiny lobby?!?? This place also promises views, but we had a view of a wall only a foot from our window. Our coffee pot was disgustingly dirty upon check-in, no biggie, but when we called to have a clean one the maid was extremely rude and demanded the old dirty one first. The clock was 4 hours off......a small inconvenience but weird nonetheless. Later that evening, after a long work day, we just wanted to sleep-- but unfortunately people on our floor had other plans. We were awoken at 3 am to 15 people screaming,yelling and partying outside our door. I called the front desk immediately and was told to " bear with them, okay?!" I later found out this was the "manager/owner" himself. Nobody ever addressed the people....we were stuck in our shoebox room awake all night until they finally winded down at 5am. I am totally the type to take things into my own hands, and tried repeatedly to tell them to be quiet, even yelling shut up over and over after 2 hours of delirium. They yelled back at me and slammed the wall...but continued to party uninterrupted. The next morning after literally NO sleep, we couldn't get out of there fast enough. As we went to check out, we stood in the elevator waiting for it to take us down. The damn doors never closed-- so we lugged all our luggage down a tiny back staircase that was extremely hard to find at the end of a long dark corridor. After all this, we just wanted the staff to make it right. I informed the lady at the front of what happened and she said she would tell the manager, who was right behind us listening to our entire story. She also said "the elevator is fine" and laughed saying "you must be the problem. Maybe you didn't press the button. Sadly, After watching another couple who had just checked in and was overhearing our nightmare stand in front of the elevator for 10 minutes waiting for it to open, I informed them it was in fact broken and they should just take the stairs. This is when the clerk went and asked, and apparently it HAD overheated and needed to be "reset". No apologies from her about the misunderstanding, and what's worse is the manager acted like this happens all the time. Just weird, and a little scary that we could have been inside when that happened. After having a completely unprofessional conversation with some kids, the owner finally came over and asked arrogantly what the problem was. I told him that she could fill him in on the story, as I was working on no sleep and wasn't in the mood to repeat the nightmare- and I know he heard the whole story already anyway- he was 2 feet away. After hearing our story AGAIN he tells us he needs to speak with the night clerk first to "see if our story is true" and that they were sleeping in the back room...how ironic...and that he will call us later. I didn't believe that for a second, but was so over it at that point I needed to get the hell out of there before I lost it totally...and said I would love for him to call me later. Like we don't know he's trying to push off the problem. Shocker that he never called and we had to call him that evening. This is when he informed us that he went ahead and took off 20 bucks and said "I still do have to make money off you people you know" What a jerk. When my husband said this was very unprofessional, he retorted "well, how about I take the credit back off then?" This is when I invited him over to my house for a lovely stay, where I will bang pots and pans outside his window and then condescendingly charge him 150 in the morning. This place is SO UNPROFESSIONAL and rude, WE WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK. If I can deter even one person with this review, I have done my job and WILL rest easy tonight. read more
