Unbelievable Who turns down business?…read moreI called 5 times a day for the last 3 days and left several voicemails. I dragged 4 kids here (half hour drive) to catch someone to help me book a birthday and they say they're in the middle of the class and closed the door on my face. Not closed- slammer. I said I want to talk to someone for a minute they said no we are busy and slammed the door. Is this somewhere I want to spend close to a grand and bloom a parry at??? Absolutely not!

Definitely deserving of 5 stars!…read more My friend and I came a little late, but Chef Liz welcomed us with a big smile. We put on our aprons, washed our hands, and quickly got seated to begin our group lesson on knife sharpening and vegetable chopping. She and Chef Adam even walked around to make sure we were doing everything properly and not cutting our fingers off. What I thought was really neat was that Chef Liz had a mirror on the ceiling to provide an aerial view of what she was doing at her station! The menu was great. We had lemon berry scones, quiches, bell pepper and leek hashbrowns, bread pudding, and an omelette bar! Chefs Liz and Adam were very organized and had each station prepared with all the ingredients. They had all the instruments needed to create a truly delicious brunch feast. I will definitely be back to try one of Chef Liz and Chef Adams classes in the near future!

This year our company contacted LA Food Works and did a team building event. LA Food Works…read morespecializes in group cooking classes and the entire event lasted about 3~4 hours. Rose is the event organizer and everyone met at her house at 10 AM. After a warm reception and a quick introduction, we quickly split into different teams and I was assigned to the Creamy White Bean and Fennel Casserole station. The staff was very helpful and I just simply followed staff's instructions. Everyone pretty much finished the cooking by 12 PM and we were able to enjoy fruits of our labor! *** Menu *** * Roasted Beef Tenderloin and Chicken Stuffed with Mixed Herb Pesto * Arugula Salad with Candied Pine Nuts and Parmesan Dressing * Roasted Broccoli with Pumpkin Seeds, Pecorino and Gremolata * Creamy White Bean and Fennel Casserole * Lemon Souffle Cake with Macerated Mixed Berries Personally I liked arugula salad the best and my least favorite dish was lemon souffle cake (too sweet). Rose even emailed a digital copy of the recipe to everyone the following week! Overall it was a great team building experience and we also did a murder mystery right after our lunch (different company - not related to LA Food Works).

The second most degrading moment I have publicly experienced happened in two classes here…read more Instructors were all rude and boastful about "bashing people all the time." Students fly in from out of state and feel as if they're untouchable royalty after enrolling in this class. Newsflash out of towners, you never know who you could be speaking to. I recommend Tasha speaks with her students and staff because what I have encountered was not professional, respectful or welcoming.

Yelp, this is the place to find an event. I found #TSAWLA and actually attended. However, "Tasha…read moreSmith's Actors Workshop" made me think we'd be doing sensory exercises. So I dressed accordingly. How wrong was I.... Tasha Smith (professional actor and teacher) conducted a Master Class Scene Study, and let the public (Yelp) in to sit in the back rows to watch her conduct coaching sessions. She was quite insightful as Tasha offered valuable feedback that could easily be applied to your (my) own acting work. The evening started with a motivational talk. Then, Tasha's close friend, Brandy (actress and singer) joined in on the conversation. There were plenty scenes to go through.... Still, during and/or after every scene, Tasha critiqued and coached performances into betterment. Tasha produced immediate results from her students. I found her to be lively with methods, experience and stories. When the night was coming to an end, her producer friend showed up with a Martial Arts Grandmaster to Bruce Lee (r.i.p). The Grandmaster gave the workshop a lesson in martial arts and meditation with his son. I smiled at everyone, and talked to Tasha. She was so down to earth and knowledgable about acting. It was totally inspiring.... I am sooo ready for the feature film arena. I love Acting! TSWA in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California offers 1 class per week for a whole month at $200 (Raquel Gardner, Kevin Benton, Ryan Travis, Tasha Smith). It's a great deal for aspiring actors and professors seeking to keep their skillset up.
