So I walk in and cool my heels while the owner is chatting, and not about shoe repair, although the person does have a pair of shoes. Still, it was unprofessional and I did wait almost five minutes. When I get to the counter, the owner is surly. I'm told to come back in a week and must pay in advance. Odd. However, I do. When I report to my husband, whose shoe needs the repair, he groans, "Should have told you, the guy does lousy work. We'll give him another chance." This afternoon I pick up the shoe. It s another lousy job. "Could have done it myself and it would have looked better," my husband says. "And it wouldn't have cost as much." I agree. read more

I brought my favorite boots here. They did a good job replacing the sole and they are good as new. I think is was $35 and it took about 5 days. Don't come here if you want very friendly service though. They weren't unfriendly but they are just there to get the job done. You do indeed have to pay in advance. read more

I read the previous reviews and was a little nervous. Guess not enough satisfied customers post reviews. I took a pair of my daughter's boots in to have one of the heels repaired. Picked them up and they were like new! Friendly and good service! I've taken shoes to the other shoe repair in town and every time I have, when I go to pick them up, the place is closed! These guys do a good job with rubber sole and heel installs but have gotten a bit expensive. (I highly recommend having the rubber tread put on your cowboy boots. It keeps them from slipping in wet weather, wears much slower than the leather and keeps the leather from being eaten away by water.) read more

Brought my beloved Danskos in for repair. I had never gotten a shoe repaired before and the owner walked me through it - how he'd replace the back heals and the blasted elastics, sew back in and reinforce my busted strap, cut the loose strings and shine 'em up. I was worried how much it would cost so the $66 price tag gave me a shock at first. I could get all new ones for that price! But these are molded to my feet and oh so comfy. I've had them 5 years and they deserved a shoe spa day to rejuvenate them ;) plus I am much happier giving $$ to a tradesman than shoes to a landfill! Great work! read more

I brought my shoes in to have the heals redone. He did a much better job than another local repair shop I had used for another pair of shoes I had. While he was at it he fixed a little spot on the back of the shoe that my dog had nibbled on. I was very pleased! read more

I took a pair of flats to Blvd Shoe Repair to repair a heel that had broken off on one of them. The repair lasted exactly one day before the heel broke off again. Not only that, but the cobbler put the heel on backwards - he had both shoes so he could compare the repaired shoe to the original, but he still put the heel on backwards and failed to make a strong repair that would last through more than one wearing. Normally I'd return and give them another chance to make it right, but in this case, the complete lack of attention to detail makes me not want to bother. I'll be taking my shoes elsewhere from now on. I hope he just had an off day and other people have had better experiences, but I won't be going back. read more

I am not one to write a bad review, I think it's bad Karma, however, I have never been so disgusted with a lack of customer service as I was this morning at my stop at Petaluma Blvd. "Fast" Shoe Repair! Back story - I have frequented this store over the years, every winter and summer, bringing them my boots and sandals for heel repair. I was never impressed with the customer service, but the repairs were done okay enough for me to be happy with the work and to continue to go there, year after year. A month ago, I took in my Nine West boots that I've had for probably over six years now, for a heel repair. I paid my $12.00 upfront, no biggie, was told a week (which to me is not that "fast", again, no biggie) and went on my way. A week later, I picked up my boots and was pleased with the job they did. I wore my boots TWICE in one month...the first time my husband pointed out to me that the heel on my boot looked almost melted...I too notice that they were already coming apart after one wear. I wore them the second time and one of the heels came completely off! I went in this morning, one month later (two wears later) and asked the same guy who I saw before if he could fix my boots. I explained to him that I was in his shop just a month before to have my heels repaired, and that I wore my boots twice since then and look at the results (holding up my heal to show one had fallen off and one looked like a flat tire). He looked at me and told me, quote un quote, that I was a "liar!!!!". He said, one, "my boots have been worn more than two times since the work had been done" and, two, "these aren't the same nails that I use". He proceeded to go in the back of his shop to pull out his nails that he does use to compare that they were not the same nails in my boot heel!!! I was flabbergasted! I said, "Are you calling me a liar?!". He said "Yes, you are a liar!!!". I have never had a person in customer service do this!!! I couldn't believe it. I pulled out my "frequent customer card" out of my wallet, to show him that I have been there a total of seven times, indicated by the stamps on the card. Are you kidding me!? Why would I lie about a $12.00 lousy shoe repair?! I told the guy that I would never go back to his store and threw my frequent customer card across the counter to him. He said he didn't care... I told him I would tell everyone I know not to come to his store... He said he didn't care about that either...and again said that I was a liar!! WOW! Again, I feel bad doing this...but this guy is a JERK STORE! Please do not give him your business...this guy does not deserve it! read more

The worst experience ever!!!!!!!!!! This guy put heel protectors on my shoes that came off only after I wore the shoe twice. When I went back to him, he said I could not prove I only wore the shoe twice. He then proceded to tell me the sole was too soft to keep the protector in place.I asked why he did not tell me this before charging me he just shrugged his shoulders. He told me NEVER to come back to his place of business if I was to complain of $4.50 charge. He did not refund me and did not re-do the work. He said if I wanted the $4.50 to return Monday. Horrible service! They ruined a pair of my husbands shoes and didnt even care. Would NEVER use them again.

From the moment I walked into this store I had a bad feeling just because the guy was so unwelcoming and just plain rude and unpleasant. I left my shoe to replace the heel cap on a Saturday and he said I could pick it up on Monday. I had an interview te next day, when I picked up the shoe it looked like a really cheap job I just knew it wasn't going to last very long but took it anyway because I had no other choice. It was the only pair of black heel shoes I had! Much to my surprise the heel cap came off walking from the parking spot to the interview!!! Unbelievable! Took it back to the store the next day, the guy was even more rude than the first time. He took the shoe and told me to come back in a week! He then called me the next day to tell me to come pick up the shoe because he didn't have that type of heel cap and could not fix it and that was not the shoe he had worked on! If he didn't have that kind of heel cap, how did he supposedly fix the other one??? What an asshole this guy is! read more

Called up - someone answered the phone, didnt even identify themselves or the business. Tried to just get an approx price for a leather toe piece on a pair of womans shoes... person who answered the phone acted like he had never heard of this. I advised that it was a service right on the website, in which he responded "huh". I explained this again and Iwas told he could not give me ANY kind of price without seeing the shoes............ Want your shoes destroyed? Go to this place. Took a pair of cowboy boots to him, to have the bottom of the heels replaced. When I got them back they where crooked, you could hardly walk in them. When I showed it to the guy and asked him to repair it, he gave me a look as if he might come over the counter and attack me. Later I was foolish enough to take a pair of cowboy boots there for a resole. To my horror I realized that the idiot had removed the shank and used shoe soles to resole these boots. Basically he had converted them to cowboy boot shaped shoes. Never, ever go to this man, clearly he is not a shoe repair person by trade. Maybe he changed oil on cars before trying this. read more

There are not many shoe repair places, so I took my shoes there even though there are so many bad reviews. I had a pair of shoes fall apart after having them resoled for $50 and wearing them 2x. I brought them back in and was told 'it happens'. He blamed it on the shoe manufacturer and took no responsibility nor offered any recourse. It was a waste of $50 and absolutely no customer service. I had a horrific experience at Blvd. Shoe Repair. I went in there with an antique suede camera bag from the early thirties that was my late fathers while he was in the war. It had a beautiful golden metal zipper that was broken and I was told he was the only person in town that could fix it. I sat with him for twenty minutes explaining how special this bag was. He told me the zipper could not be repaired but he would save it for me along with the pull that had a beautiful emblem on it. It would replace it with an equal quality zipper but it would take about three weeks because it had to be hand stitched each day for two hours. The cost was to be $180. I thought this was very high to replace a zipper but because of the meaning of the bag to me and the detail he said he had to do, I paid it and was off. I did not hear from him after three weeks so I called and he said it was ready for pick up. I got there and another man was there, he threw the original zipper and pull away and replaced the zipper with a cheap brown plastic zipper. I was mortified!!!!! I asked for my money back as it was clearly not the job he had promised and could not locate the original pieces I came in with. He would not return my money so I disputed the charge with my credit card company and won. It still does not help my situation but I would NEVER, NEVER TAKE ANYTHING TO THESE PEOPLE.
