6/30/23 After a visit from the Holly Nail Shop, I wanted to see what shops were still up in running. Most of the names have gone the way of the Dodo. However, a new business has taken the spot of the old massage palor. Black in this case spelled B.L.X.C.K LABEL COLLECTIVE was established in 2020 of all years. Dispite the hardships that happen that year and two years after the events of Covid-19, they are still HERE!! When I opened the door, the first thing that stood out to me is the statue of Woman getting tattooed by Appolo. The place has changed from when I was in here last and the decorations are much better than the former business. I met a lady there, but she seemed busy, but greeted me warmly. The piercing caught my eye, but I didn't see anything I wanted. I grabbed a card to call back later, but decided to go back and ask about the naming cream for the piercing and tattoos. Alas, when I returned, Juliana wasn't there. A guy getting a tattoo by one of the artist I don't recognize from the website photos was busy. I did not wish to disturb them and from the angle I was at, I didn't see Juliana. I decided to leave again and checked out some of the designs from various artists. The raccoon and fox tattoos caught my eye. I like foxes and raccoons. I see them near my house. On another note, one thing that did bother me is the incense/smell in the shop. It smelled like weed to me. If this is what it was... I might stop by again at another time. read more

They were very professional, patient, and flexible. I took my son in to get his first art piece and decided to get one myself since I was waiting. There just happened to be an artist available and he quickly set up and got started on mine. We loved the energy and my artist, "Alex", was very knowledgeable and talented. He collaborated with me and I got exactly what I wanted. I WILL be returning to get more done this summer and I'm bringing some friends to get a few as well! read more

Absolutely love this place and the work that my artist Rachael did! She's a true talent!

I found Rachael on Instagram and started following her based off of her work. She was looking for clients that wanted to do floral. I had been deciding on a floral piece for my children and took that as a sign from the universe and direct messaged her. I explained what I wanted with approximate size and the two places I was considering for placement. She told me her hourly rate, which is pretty standard for the area, and asked me to pay a $100 deposit via Venmo before she would even discuss the tattoo with me. This should have been my first red flag as her policy is "No refunds, no exceptions." I paid the deposit thinking everything would be fine. Anyway, I asked for a floral piece with my [two] children's names and their birthdays in roman numerals incorporated, 4x6in with a $600 budget. She told me for all that I wanted, it would be hard to get it all in the size I was thinking and that I needed to cut things out or raise my budget because what she could do would be no less than 4hrs with it being more realistically 6hrs. Her hourly rate is $150 x 6 = $900. I asked to possibly make it smaller, which she said I would need to start cutting things out. At this point, I offered to come into the shop so that we could talk about my tattoo face to face, she could see where I was thinking about putting it, and we could discuss pricing, etc. I mean, my money was already down, so why wouldn't she consult with me face to face? This was the second red flag that I ignored. When I asked about the tattoo again and reiterated my budget, she just said that the deposit comes off the total cost of the tattoo. We picked a date (June 12th!) for me to come in for my tattoo. I offered other alternatives such as just doing my kids first names instead of their first and middle names, which these messages were read and ignored. No thoughts or anything given, which I thought was pretty weird, especially when you're designing something so meaningful to me and is going to be on my body permanently. I gave it much thought after a few days I reached out to let her know that I needed to cancel. I didn't give her a reason for cancelling (shouldn't have to, especially on March 31st for a tattoo that's scheduled for June) though truly, I cancelled it because I just wasn't comfortable and the red flags were flashing hardcore for me. I didn't like her vibe and didn't think we could work together to design something I loved within my budget. I never received a response to my message cancelling, not an "Oh no, what happened?" "What made you change your mind" etc. She read it though, and I have yet to receive a refund on my deposit for an appointment that was scheduled and cancelled two months in advance. If she asked the reason and actually acted like she cared about a potential client, I would be honest about my reason for cancelling. Her not returning my deposit means she's cashing out on me as she will fill my appointment with someone else and collect their deposit too, and anyone else who has to cancel in advance for their tattoo appointment. I would understand not returning my deposit if I cancelled last minute or no showed, but this is 2 months in advance. Come on now. As someone else who provides luxury services, this is extremely bad service and practices. Not only does it look poorly on Rachael, but looks poorly on Blxck Label Collective as her employer. I'm extremely disappointment and upset that my $100 deposit won't be returned to me and will tell everyone I know of the bad business practices of Blxck Label Collective and their artists and advise them to stay away. After I originally posted this, I noticed she blocked me on Instagram, so that in and of itself should tell you the type of person she is. read more

I went to Blxck Label Collective to get my first tattoo. My artist Josh did my tattoo. He is an amazing person took his time to go over the sketch with me. I loved it and I barely felt a thing he has a great hand for tattooing I will definitely visit him again to build my sleeve. I recently got some artwork done by Ken, a very talented tattoo artist (and awesome person). I'm very happy with the work he's done. Ken is incredibly focused, patient, and detail-oriented. He helped me fine-tune my ideas. He's great with large pieces, but also does a great job on small-medium size tattoos. He uses state of the art equipment, high quality inks, and hygienic supplies. I will definitely be back to see Ken for more work. Best to get on his calendar in advance as he tends to book up fast! read more

Spike and the squad at Blxck label collective are the best. I reached out to Spike for a spontaneous tattoo with friends in town and he was able to set something up ASAP. Xochilh at the front is super sweet and took pics of all of our tattoos after and Nef did great with the tattoos. The studio has a cool vibe and all of the artists do awesome work. Spike (the owner) started the work on my back in March 2021. It's been damn near a year later and over $5,000 paid to this man and he still has not finished the detail on this tree & bird, let alone any color has yet been added to it. I have been paying this man $200 an hour, he always needs breaks, almost always has an apprentice around & constantly interrupted by either other workers or a phone call and always ends the session when he feels like it. I do not understand why this work has taken 7 sessions and it's still not complete. I purposely use numbing cream so that he could work as much as he wants to but he seems to never finish and it's never bc I want to stop, it's because he wants more money so he'll BULLSHIT around & if you're not paying attention, you're giving all your money away for very little work. On top of that he'll have an apprentice around asking a thousand questions while the clock is running & then he gets mad when the needles hurt more, you don't think that it's because you keep stopping? And if I'm sensitive in certain areas, so what?? Just add some numbing cream & work somewhere else in the meantime just like any other tattoo artist, I don't understand what the problem is with this dude. My last session was 11/12/2021. He told me before I left that we would finish this work before the year is over and that he would call me back with a date & time. After waiting a few weeks & didn't hear from him, I decided to email him and 2 days later he replies saying that he can put me down for March 30, 2022. THIS GUY IS UNBELIEVABLE!! HE'S DOES NOT CARE HOW MUCH MONEY YOU'VE PAID HIM. I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID SO MUCH RESEARCH TO END UP WITH THIS KIND OF TREATMENT DEALING WITH THIS MONEY HUNGRY CLOWN!! $5,000 IS A DOWN PAYMENT TO AN INVESTMENT PROPERTY!!! I've attached a photo of the email I sent him after he replied to my post. MY REASON FOR PUTTING HIM ON BLAST IS SO THAT HE WON'T DO THIS TO ANYBODY ELSE. I really don't like giving people bad reviews and have nothing to gain out of it but I did give this guy $5,000 for a tattoo that he can't seem to finish and he is very unapologetic about it. He wants to smoke weed before starting and during the session, drink alcohol and BULLSHIT around like my time isn't valuable. I don't know what the hell is wrong with this guy. He's a horrible person for not caring about leaving my back like this, HE JUST WANTS TO MILK PEOPLE FOR MONEY. He has the audacity to say that I'm some sort of bad client but what it really is that he doesn't want to look bad for what I'm exposing. THIS IS THE WHOLE TRUTH. If I was such a bad client, then why keep booking me? WHY NOT BE A MAN OF INTEGRITY INSTEAD OF ROBBING ME LIKE THAT?? THIS GUY IS FULL OF IT IN SO MANY WAYS!! And I knew he was up to no good when he told me that my husband who is vaccinated couldn't come in the room to watch him work on me but he'll have all these people coming in & out the room WITHOUT A MASK ON & trying to hold a conversation while I'm getting tattooed. I do not recommend him because of his LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM & RESPECT AND HE LITERALLY ROBS you right in your face. Now I'm currently looking for another artist to finish what he can't.
