The crew's training and knowledge as arborists was clear - both trees looked wonderful when they were done. I did not know Van Booven had arrived and was already working because they did not contact me or ring my door bell. I looked out my window and no one was there in front of my house. So when the other company called, I told them to come out. Turns out after the other company called and I told them to come out, I heard some machinery so I went outside and saw Van Booven's truck parked 2 houses north of mine - I have no idea why so far away. Then I saw a couple of men on my driveway working on downed tree limbs. The other company arrived shortly and I had to turn Van Booven away. I would have used Van Booven if they had let me know they were there. When I told them I was using the other company, the man said they would send me a bill. Honestly, if you were a house painter and a homeowner asked you to paint their house, would you paint it any color you wanted, or would you first consult with the owners? This was a similar situation. Van Booven sent me a bill for $325 just for coming out. Given the above information, I do not recommend Van Booven as I do not feel they are honest and I feel they did not care what I wanted because they did not consult with me before they began working.

They laid down hard mats on the lawn as to prevent any weight tracks and then the crew went full out until the tree was gone including the stump. I called Ryan--as a new customer, on the recommendation of our neighbors--to see if they could take care of the limb and, if so, how quickly, and how much it might cost. I spoke with Cindy in reception. She was delightful!! She was kind and reassuring and took down all our information. She promised that someone would be able to stop by to give us a free estimate on the job (even if we weren't home) and would email us with the details. Within 2 hours, Jared (their arborist) knocked on our door. He was very professional, friendly and patient in answering all my questions. We talked about the cost estimate and, while he was there, I showed him the brush pile in our back yard that also needed to be hauled away. He was able to give me an estimate for the combined jobs and promised to expedite the scheduling once we formally approved the estimate. Jared was as good as his word; he sent us the estimate before the end of the day, and my husband and I talked about it and were able to send him our approval by the next afternoon (Tuesday). By 12:00 noon on Wednesday, the crew was at our home to take care of both the tree limb and the brush pile. They worked very efficiently, and within a few hours had both jobs done and completely cleaned up the areas. WOW!! From start to finish, the tree limb--and the brush pile--were completely taken care of, at a reasonable cost, by folks who were both incredibly friendly and great at their jobs. They did some work for our neighbors, so you might ask, why am I the one reviewing them?…read more While doing this work, they trespassed on our property and dismantled our lawn ornaments, and drove over our lawn, right up next to our house, driving entirely on our property to do this work, and let themselves into our backyard (we have pets), without even knocking on or door or giving us a phone call to let us know, or ask if that is okay. They did NOT replace the things they moved and dismantled after they left. Not only that, but they drove right over our recently-fixed sewer line with their several-ton truck. A plumber recently told us that our sewer line had buckled from pressure, and now I wonder if this truck has been here before and done the same thing and that's what caused it. I tried to walk out and talk to a worker, and she just stared at me and kept walking, completely ignoring me. After reading other reviews and seeing them do the same thing to other people and cuss them out over it, I'm just going to call the police next time they trespass without asking. Completely unprofessional.
