Although the SSN was unlocked, could not get the account opened. Teller tried to send me a link, but it never came to my email. I had a safe deposit box there that multiple years they did not bill me. I had to remind them to bill me so that I would not lose what was in my box & they would assure me that this would not happen the following year, but it always did. I closed the safe deposit box. Had a CD come due & was told I could not cash it in on the day that it came due. CDs could only be cashed in after that day. Spoke with someone else at the bank and indeed I was able to cash. Often there's been simple deposits that for some reason there's an issue. These are some of the friendliest people in banking, but they appear to lack expertise. therefore, I have business with them. Once again, however, I will emphasize that they are very eager to serve customers and are always friendly.

I have been a TCF customer for over 21 years. It's a relatively small bank in comparison but that…read moredidn't really bother me, in fact I kind of liked that about it. I never had any major problems, even when issues (such as extra fees, were my own fault) well that is until the recent merger they did with Chemical bank that is. A few months ago I had to get money out of a non-TCF ATM and I got whacked with a $12 fee. When I stopped in the branch to have some of that fee reversed I was not only denied but insulted in the process. I called to close my account and the rep on the phone resolved the issue and apologized profusely. Then about 18+ days ago my account was compromised and emptied with fraudulent charges. Most were pending and I do not know why they still went through. I reported ALL the charges for reimbursement but only a few got reversed. I had to call again, (wait times are excessive) I reported the remaining charges and again only a few got reversed. Called AGAIN and I am still waiting for MY MONEY BACK! The totals on the online banking are always inaccurate now and to call again takes an excess of over 45 minutes if the call even goes through, as sometimes the recording tells me to call back another time and disconnects. I am hoping TCF can correct these problems PROMPTLY and get back to good service or I will be forced to bank else-where!
