I will never use this dealership again. To preface I have a 2013 Mercedes-Benz S Class so that being said prior to getting work done I asked if they were able to service my vehicle. Upon being told yes I simply came infor wheel alignment after having some serious front end work done that I will list below. I was subsequently informed by Technnician Juan that my alignment could not be done due to my ride height sensors being in the wrong location and that they could correct that prior for a small $650 fee .Having feeling this was not the case I chose to seek a second opinion and I was glad I did all my sensors needed were to be reset not moved or replaced. I am updating my review to 1 Star only for the level of service I have received after I picked up my vehicle. About 40 days after the purchase, I was looking to buy Extended Warranty for the BMW I purchased from BMW of Temple and thought of reaching out to the Finance Director - Kerry to get a quote and after few negotiations with Kerry through Ted, Kerry finally agreed on the Warranty purchase cost and Ted relayed the price confirmation to me via a phone call and said Kerry will be in touch soon. A week passed by and I did not get any response from Kerry, even after multiple follow ups. Couple weeks later I got Kerry on the phone after Store Manager Escalation and Kerry quoted me higher cost for the warranty than what she had agreed with Ted. Not only she ignored me but also didn't stand true to the cost agreed with the store associate. Kerry acted in complete bad faith and provided lack of communication on her part. I have to call out Kerry for her unprofessional behavior and lack of communication and keeping the customer hanging and later only to know she would not honor the price she agreed to previously. If the Garlyn Shelton BMW of Temple Store Manager is reading this review, I want to express my deepest sympathies for having such bad faith employees who do not care for their customers. Randall, Part manager, he has not sense of urgency when it comes to you as a customer, 16 days to get a key fob is ridiculous. Talked to three reps and got different information, I decided to call the executives making the big bucks, after talking to Michael Lindberg, the key fob was in my hands in 24 hours. The techs did not know MY CAR DO NOT NEED PROGRAMMING but still they wanted me to town my car in and pay more money for the programing. In general, the car is great the service around here STINKS! I paid cash for a brand new x7 and they ran a hard credit check damaging my credit score as if I was asking for a loan. If verifying my cashiers check was the issue, the bank should have been called. Running my credit was not going to verify my check or identity as there is no picture on your credit report. Buying a car outright should not lower your credit score. Jonathan and Alec will not return your call. Without a loan, there is no way to raise your credit quickly because you aren't borrowing anything from them to make timely payments on. Buyer beware... this dealership will misuse your social security number for sport. As a brand loyal bmw owner, it's disheartening to know at the end of the process--you are left with a hard ding on your credit for a cash transaction and zero return call for a valid reason. 7/27/2021 Update: After seeing what my father went through to get his X5 serviced here, even under new ownership, I will never bring or buy a car here. I get my car serviced in Dallas and Plano where the customer service is top notch, which to me means that I get regular updates on my car status, that my service advisor and technician honors all confirmed reasonable requests made to them, and that they don't forgot to replace items they've taken from my car. At BMW of Temple, after days without a response that they even received the car, my dad called for a update, which he didn't get until maybe 5 days in. My dad made 2 requests, which they said they would do and partially did one and completely forgot the other. And then they removed a tool from his car and only returned it when my called asked where it was. Their only saving grace was the nice lady who comes out to greet all customers. read more

I will gladly return my positive review of Ashley Green once this is resolved** Regarding my plate transfer process, I have a qualified and doctor verified, permanent disability that grants me the option to user disabled plates on my vehicles. The vehicle I drove to your dealership to trade in had my permanent disabled plates installed and had previously been seamlessly transferred to newly leased vehicles at your previous BMW location as well as at the San Antonio BMW dealership. As a person with disabilities, albeit mostly invisible to those who don't know me well, the use of these plates is crucial for me to access essential services and maintain a semblance of independence. The time and stress of having multiple conversations with David Macias to resolve this were frustrating and unnecessary. To my dismay, the entire process proved to be an absolute nightmare. The lack of honest instructions or guidance from Kerry Rodriguez, who also involved David in calling me multiple times over the last week or so, made it exceedingly difficult for me to navigate through the required procedures. I was passed from David to finally speak with Kerry directly on Monday, June 6th, 2023. Despite this lengthy course of communications, David and Kerry were seemingly unaware of the correct steps involved to rectify my transfer not being seamless as I drove away from your dealership with my disabled plates in a brown envelope given to me by your staff. This resulted in an unnecessary waste of my time and energy, which could have been better utilized elsewhere. Furthermore, what adds insult to injury is the untruthfulness I encountered during this ordeal. Kerry and David provided conflicting information and made promises they failed to fulfill. On multiple occasions, I was assured that the transfer would be completed seamlessly, and yet, weeks passed without any updates. This culminated in a phone call with Kerry where she shared misinformation/lies that led me to drive my new vehicle without the properly assigned disabled plates, fearing possible fines and additional hassle from law enforcement. After speaking with staff at the the Department of Motor Vehicles in my county, and then having to go to the County Tax Assessors Office in my county, I learned that a transfer of my permanently disabled plates was not applied for and that was why they weren't sent to your dealership. I also learned that despite being told by Kerry that my disability plates were denied based on an issue with either my script or a state records issue, neither of these excuses was true either. This whole experience has left me feeling both letdown and neglected by your dealership. As a loyal, repeat customer, I expected better treatment and a more seamless process, especially when it pertains to a matter as important as the proper display of disabled plates. I expected to be treated like family, as your website advertises. I kindly request that you contact me regarding this situation. I'm expecting a prompt response detailing the steps you will take to address this situation and prevent these occurrences from happening again in the future. Additionally, I urge you to reevaluate your internal processes and staff training to ensure that disabled customers are provided with the utmost care, accuracy, and respect they deserve. Went to another BMW in Austin, they diagnosed that I have to replace the accessory battery, and the cost was a little more than $400. I then called Temple BMW, let them know my situation, and asked Parts if that battery was on stock. The individual asked me the vin number, and told me the cost is $120 (more or less). I asked him, are you sure there is no more batteries, and that this is the "accessories battery" he replied "yes, is the only one". I then was transferred to make the appointment, and today arrived by 1200. I've been waiting for 3 hrs when the service guy comes over to advise me that I should replace the accessory battery, and it will go up to almost $600. Parts department said $120... 3 HOURS, to tell me Exactly what I let them know already. I'm not a mechanic, but that was a BIG waste of my time. WILL NOT RECOMMEND read more

This is one of the shadiest dealerships I've ever encountered. I now have a '24 X3 that I did not really want, because it is an s-drive, not an x-drive as I traded in. My story is that I was working with salesman Alec for a number of weeks starting in early July. The short of it is is that I was looking to upgrade my '22 X3xdrive 30i, with a parking assist and wireless charging. I also wanted a specific exterior color and had a couple of interior preferences. From the start I made it clear to Alec that I wanted everything else to stay basically the same, and I had a conversation with him on the first day that included I wanted the AWD again. He said "Well, you don't need that unless you're driving in snow," and I told him I did want that because I knew the AWD offered more traction. So I thought that was settled. Alec was never able to get me all I wanted over the course of a couple of weeks, and I even at one point put down $1,000 deposit on a vehicle supposedly coming from Houston. I was also confirmed with a 4.49 interest rate. In the end, after delay after delay, I got my deposit back, and gave up the search. Eventually though it looked like I would buy from an Austin dealership but I didn't end up doing that, and returned to the Temple dealership and asked Alec to again try to find me something as close to what I wanted as possible. I asked if they would still honor the 4.49 and Alec indicated they would. I gave them another deposit. Alec let me know he found something he thought would work, and they had it shipped from Arlington. I was given the spec sheet which showed this vehicle was $2,000 less than the previous cars he had found for me. I asked him what I was giving up, and he gave me some answer about dynamic handling or whatever, he flimflammed with an explanation ending with "It's something you don't really need." I trusted him, my mistake. During the signing, I also discovered I was not getting the promised interest rate, and when I confronted Alec he feigned surprise. The finance manager was snarky with me too. Bottom line, I closed on the deal, drove the car home Aug 14, and discovered I had purchase an s-drive not an x-drive like I originally wanted. I was very angry and stormed back over to the dealership 30 minutes before it closed and confronted Jake, the manager. Alec of course had taken off after he flimflammed me, so he was "unavailable" after that of course. I should have noticed on the spec sheet that it was an s-drive, but I confess I didn't pay as much attention by this time, because the earlier cars HAD been x-drive so I assumed that's all Alec was looking for for me. But he knew that would be a deal breaker because of our earlier discussion. I have been in contact now with both Jake and the assistant manager, and have asked for some kind of recompense for being lied to. It would have been easy, when I asked Alec why the price difference, for him to say "It's an s-drive, not AWD. Hope that's ok." But he didn't show me that kind of respect. I may get response from this dealership, I may not, but one thing came out of this, I will never buy another BMW from ANY dealership. I've been buying cars for more than 50 years and never have had this experience. I would steer clear of BMW of Temple. They also got a 2 year old trade-in in perfect condition, low mileage, which is AWD - so they got an additional reward for shafting me. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! read more

I live in Houston and drove to Temple over the memorial weekend during the covid pandemic to pick up our new X6M competition. There are 5 Bmw dealerships in Houston area and none of them could match or beat these guys. I talked to Jake via email and finalized a deal before we went there. It was an extremely no pressure and very professional experience from beginning to end. The delivery process was great as well as the finance. I have bought many cars in my lifetime, and this was one of the best experience that I felt I needed to write a review. Before going here I highly suggest taking your business to Austin or Dallas, anywhere but here. Had to change my brakes and rotors on my 2013 BMW after getting it serviced, I still have a noise in my front left wheel like something wrong with the rotor. Went to Another mechanic place and come to Find out my rotors where never changed. It they sure marked them as replaced. The rotors are worn down and have a lip at the beginning which you get from years of service. Trying to reach the service department or even after leaving messages to talk to someone no one will ever return your call when you have an issue. I'm going to Austin from now on so I don't get ripped off again by trusting this dealership. read more

I've brought two vehicles into this place, mainly because it's the only BMW service center anywhere close to my home in central Texas. After the first time I went for an oil change, when they appraised my car without asking (so I received calls for weeks about trading in my car) then tried to sell me a front brake job ($750 at that time) that I knew I didn't need, I told myself I'd never go back. Fast forward two years; new car for me, new dealership and new name for them? I get the same treatment. Only this time they sold my information. I am now receiving at least five "vehicle warranty center" calls a day and getting the "urgent" unmarked letters from the same places. Thanks to these people I've got more than 300 blocked numbers in my phone now, on a number I'd had for three months problem free before I made the mistake of taking my car to them. Also when they "checked" my brakes during their inspection (that's part of the oil change), they somehow messed up my rear brakes so 200 miles later the left side is needing new shoes and the right side doesn't touch at all. If you value your car and live in the central TX area, go the extra 60-100 miles to Dallas or Austin. BMW of Temple, formerly Garlyn Shelton BMW, are nothing more than a high pressure used car dealership with the morals you'd expect from that kind of place. read more

I would not recommend buying a vehicle from this dealership ( GARLYN SHELTON BMW OF TEMPLE) . I was interested in purchasing a used BMW from the dealership. I asked if I could keep the vehicle for a 24 hour test drive in order to see if this vehicle would fit my current needs. I was told by the sales manger that I would first need to do all the paperwork required to purchase the vehicle. I stated to them wouldn't it be easier for me to take it on a 24 hour test drive first to see if I would even purchase this vehicle. This would save countless hours of playing the negotiating game and also everyone else's time. I have been to several dealerships where all they require is an intent to purchase form filed and proof of insurance and drivers license on file and they allow 48 hours with the vehicle. This up just screams red flags to me if they want to run your credit and get all your bank information for a vehicle you may not purchase. This in turn will end up causing to many credit inquires in your credit report if you don't end up buying that vehicle from that specific dealership and your credit rating suffers. So apparently this dealership isn't interested in helping the customer nor interested in building those relationships with customers. This was definitely eye opening and will take my business to a dealership that cares about the customer and their needs. I will say you need to keep and also give Alec Skervin a bonus as he was very helpful and informative. He's the only reason you are receiving two stars. We've bought a pretty expensive car from them before and since then we purchased 3 more new cars from other dealers due to this particular dealership lack of follow up. And (I don't know why) we've decided to give those guys one last chance and order new M4. We wanted the base model (manual transmission) and they did have an allocation to place the order. After we virtually built the car, they told us that they can only order the most expensive one and the program does not allow to make a choice. Two other BMW dealerships confirmed that the program asks you what type you want and allows you to order any type as long as you have an allocation (it's called Model Flex). We went to talk to the dealership in person and explain how to make the program work. The Manager did not even give us a minute of his time. Would not even talk to us. Everybody else "working" there would not even acknowledge us. We felt like beggars asking them to "please please take our money and let us buy a car from you"...and it's a very unpleasant feeling. Got a confirmation from internet customer service representative that I am setup for service appointment and sales appointment at 1.00 pm. I drove all the way from Round Rock 45 miles to the dealership just to learn that service appointment is not set up and I will have to drop the car and pickup in the evening. I told service manager that I drove all the way from Round Rock and cannot really drop and come back at 6.00. He did not budge. So I go to sales and found out that the guy with who I had appointment is not available. After some time a new sales guy comes and offers me to show cars. I said, first I need my car go to service and during serving time, I can see cars. Showed him the text message with internet customer service person confirming both my appointments. Sales person said I dropped the ball which I failed to understand how, but without trying to argue, asked him if I can see one of the so called sales manger who I worked with before. After 5-7 minutes sales person comes back and tells me sales manager is very busy and cannot meet. He offered to show the cars and asked to deal with service department on my own. At that point I left. All in all , wasted my 2.5 hours at this dealership because of incompetent and inconsiderate people working here. I just had my car in for the passenger fog light randomly coming on and off while driving, and they said it didn't do it there. We were in the market for a new vehicle and after weeks of reading reviews and test driving other brands, my wife and I decided that BMW may be the best vehicle on the market. There is nothing fancy about this dealership. It is co-located with Mazda and Volvo. I wish it would have a little more flair like a few of the dealerships that I purchased from in San Antonio. For example, the Lexus Dealership of San Antonio has a full serviced cafe with a barista, a masseuse, and Apple computer stations for customers while they wait. I am just thinking that a dealership that deals in high end quality vehicles should match it with an exceptional facility and complimentary benefits and perks. We will see what will be the outcome at the beginning of the year at the completion of the new dealership. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by one the young ladies at the door and introduced to our salesman Jonathan. We immediately took a liking to Jonathan who was very helpful, patient, and an Alabama Fan. Don't hold it against him, especially since I am an Alabama fan as well. We test drove the BMW X5 but the price just was not right with my wife, I so we looked around for a few more days before coming back to Jonathan. Jonathan understood the points I made and relayed them to the Jake, the manager. Jake called me personally to see how we could come to an agreement and after minimal back and forth, we agreed upon a deal. The following week, I contacted Jonathan regarding the possibility of trading my vehicle in for a new BMW. Of course he was glad to assist and once again me, Jonathan, and Jake worked out a deal that was a win-win for all interested parties. We are now the owners of two new BMWs. During both purchases Jonathan spent an hour going over the vehicles and their features. He paired our phones and followed up to see if we had any additional questions. Approximately a week after each purchases we received a personalized thank you letter from Garlyn Shelton and a complimentary Starbucks card via email from BMW of North America. This was one of my worst experiences ever at a car dealership ever. I was treated like a second class citizen from the general manager Jay. After telling him what I wanted he decided he needed to eat his sandwich and fix his suit. It took him over 2 hours before even looking at my trade. He basically gave off the heir I will get to it when I get to it. Me and my wife were the only people their and we had to go inside to run down a salesperson. After 6 hours at the dealership, the salesperson told us the rate, then Jay the manager called over to ask if we could afford it after we already said that we could. I felt this was very judge-mental and racist sense me and my wife are African American and Spanish. Then after we did all that we were asked signed what we were asked to sign, he then tries to have the salesman shake us down for 4 more thousand dollars. I said to the salesman this does not make sense. I asked for the manager, but he stayed in his chair. I asked the salesman was that all, he just said that's it and I'm sorry. Went in with a vague idea of what I wanted (trading in a Pilot for something smaller) and CJ and the ENTIRE staff here bent over backwards for me to make sure I got to see all the options. Went there the first day with my young kids and they happily ate snacks provided by the dealership while I looked at 4 different vehicles from 2 different brands. We went back then next day (without kids) and CJ let us test drive 3 different vehicles. No pressure and he took us out to a location that let us really test the handling and speed of the vehicles. The process of buying a car is always intimidating but these guys made me and my family feel welcome from the start. They gave me very fair trade in value on my car and set up a time to come back for a full detailing and tank of gas. I can't recommend CJ and this dealership enough. KENNETH FORBES took care of me every time and each time I went I was amazed how knowledgeable and helpful he was in my 2004 BMW 325i. The last time I ordered parts with Kenneth Forbes I had to do it over the phone and I sent some pictures to him over the phone because I did not know what were the names of the parts that I needed and he had them delivered to my house very quickly! I'm glad I decided to drive out BMW of Temple after checking out my local BMW dealership. Before driving out there I inquired about a vehicle over the internet I immediately received an email back from Miranda confirming the vehicle I want it was on the inventory. I scheduled an appointment for the same afternoon and I was welcomed by my Client Advisor Andrew Patterson, who offers me a tour of the vehicle and a test drive. After the test drive, I told him I want the car and asked them to appraise my vehicle; the Sales Manager Victor made me a a good offer for mine and I accepted. To be honest I was not planning to buy the vehicle that afternoon because I was short on time but I put a deposit to hold the car. The next morning after a small negotiation over one email and one phone we got a deal done. I drove up to the dealer; in less than 20 minutes we were done with the paperwork with Finance Manager Andy. This by far has been the buying experience of my life. I recommend BMW of Temple.
