I asked to speak to GM several times via email, NO RESPONSE.. questions to Service Manager AVOIDED, emails went days to be addressed, asked to visit with GM and himself when I arrived 6/2! GM walked passed me twice into Service Managers office and I was IGNORED and not spoken to. Still ignored. I got a recall notice from Honda via email so I made an appointment and came here but they said they cannot do it since they don't have a parts that notified me for recall etc. It's a bit confusing since the email said it's available but the dealer actually doesn't have it... Make sure when you get a recall you call the dealer whether they have that specific parts or software. Despite the confusion, the service person took care of it fine so I'll give them 3 stars. Hope they won't sent me a notification until they actually have it or the locations should be available for only places that carry the recall parts. read more

Took my Accord (46,000 miles on) in for an oil change and to have the air flow motor checked due to a clicking noise. When I got to Honda the clicking noise had stopped so the technician stated they couldn't do anything to check the it, but just a few mins later he asked if I wanted to have the flow motor checked for $180!!! I said I thought you said there was nothing that could be done since it wasn't clicking, he said "that's right". I told him no! Just the oil change . After the oil change was completed the technician called stating one of my tires needed replaced due to a screw in it, (they wanted to charge over $200) and my breaks were in the red (needed replaced) I declined to have them do anything besides the oil change. I later took the car to a reputable tire place who told me the tire did not need replaced, and they plugged it. I took the car to a reputable break place who stated my breaks were fine!!! I will never give this place my business again and I would never recommend them. read more

Just because you have an appointment, doesn't mean the car will be looked at that day. I took my car in on a Monday to have a warning light fixed. I was told that they were backed up with people who had dropped off their cars the week before and they had appointments too. So if I needed transportation that day, I had to rent a car. The first few days were covered, but after that I had to pay and there would be a hold on my bank account to cover the rental. The diagnostic was going to be $185, so I can only imagine what the whole bill would be. I told them I wanted my car back and the service agent told me that few others would be able to fix my warning light. I don't appreciate being strong-armed into getting my car serviced. Cleo Bay Honda will NOT "make your day"! I recently purchased a certified pre-owned certified Honda from them, and what started off as a fairly smooth transaction soon turned into one of my worst car buying experiences. The whole process felt rushed, as if they were more concerned with closing the sale than ensuring customer satisfaction. I'm fairly confident my salesman was more concerned with his upcoming retirement in October than providing any quality service. For the number of years he's been in the business, I expected him to have more knowledge about the pre-owned certified vehicle and SOME knowledge of selling/financing a vehicle. Whenever I had a question, he seemed to be at a loss and would respond with "let me see who I can ask." Add that to his laissez faire attitude and the whole situation became rather irritating. Also, my salesman never did a walk-around/walk-through of my vehicle with me before I left. Since this was a certified pre-owned, it would have been helpful because we could have further discussed the chip in the windshield. On the test drive, he said "oh yeah, it looks like it's been repaired." Later, I would find out that it had not been repaired and was not noted on the certified inspection. I had to drive back to the dealership (55 miles away from me) to have them repair the chip. Yes, part of this was on me, but I'm also concerned as to why this was not noted on the certified inspection. In general, communication was seriously lacking; there was little to no follow-up, and getting a response to my calls or emails became hopeless, especially with the finance department. On top of that, I have yet to receive a copy of the multiple e-documents I signed with the finance advisor. This has only added unnecessary stress to the process. If you're looking for a dealership that values customer service, attention to detail and excellent communication, I would highly suggest AVOIDING Cleo Bay Honda. read more

My advice is to just stay away from this dealership. The sales department is very friendly, service department people are like most, they are not there to chum it up with you. So nothing much to say there, that's just the way it is in the dealership world. My issue is with a couple of things. I had a lease Honda Odyssey and I paid for all of the protections possible. It was a lease so I wanted as protected as possible for when I had to turn the vehicle in. I made my first oil change appointment when it was. With an appointment it took over 4 hours to get my van back. The second appointment was much faster at two hours for an oil change. I would have never paid for the services upfront had I known what a headache it would've become. Fast forward I decided I was done and I wanted out of my lease. I tried to trade my van in on a Ford F-150. We were way under milage and I had traded my 2020 Ford Ranger in on the van so we were well in the black on our loan. Johnson Brothers Ford of Temple Texas offered me nearly 3,000 dollars as a trade value on the van towards the F-150. Unfortunately they could not go through with the trade because Honda refuses to allow another dealership to purchase their lease vehicles. (I learned that it's quite popular practice). So the salesman helped me get into my Ford F-150 without the trade value and told me that I should run to Cleo Bay where I got the vehicle from and said they would most likely just cut me a check for that amount and buy back the van. Especially since it was such low mileage on the van. NOPE!!!!!! They actually appraised my van much lower than Ford did. That leads me to believe that they don't value their own vehicles as much as other dealerships do. I had to PAY, I said PAY to get out of the lease when I was definitely in the black by about 9,000 dollars. For would have given me 3,000 understandably. It was a trade vehicle and they always lowball you. I'm not new to the car buying business. In short, please save yourselves a lot of time, money , and hassle by going elsewhere. Service, took my CRV in for a possible recall plus I was having an issue with power steering. This is the 3 Honda I have bought from Cleo Bay. I could not get an appointment till Friday unless I did a walk in. I walked in and the young man at the counter was texting or playing a game. He told me they don't have parts and probably won't since they've been waiting a year on another recall. I explained the issue I was having, he basically blew me off. I left, I called Honda they explained the process for the parts which included having the car inspected. So I called Round Rock Honda got in the next day, they found an issue with the battery,fixed it under warranty. I will not go back to Cleo Bay service even though it's much farther. read more

This is a review of the service department. Brought the car in around 1pm on Memorial Day for an oil change because my husband had a coupon for a $45 oil change. He also needed to get a hole in his tire plugged, and for that, they were gonna charge another $20. The issue we had is that 4:30pm rolls around, and no one called up to update us with the vehicle status. We call and are unable to get anyone and leave a voicemail. Then, after calling 3 times, we got ahold of someone who tells us that the service department is closed and that we are unable to pick the car up since it's locked up in the garage. We are then put on hold so they can call the manager at home to find out what is going on. They basically they told us we could not pick our OWN car up and that they had no idea if the service was done or not. We ask if we can pick it up and take it elsewhere for the oil change and she tell us she doesn't know if the car is in the parking lot because she is in the building, and cannot walk to the window and look? Finally, we decided to just drive up there and look for ourselves because no one was of any help. We drive up to see both his car sitting in the lot and the garden wide open. How do you service a car and not let anyone know, and just leave for the day? Once he picked up the car, he was charged $68 for the oil change, but after complaining about all they hassle they put us through, they refunded it. We always seem to have issues like this when he brings his car here. They never call and take 4 or 5 hours to change the oil. For us, them just deciding to keep the car overnight without any notification was the last straw. We aren't ever coming here for services again. Why when we can go to any of the oil places and walk in and get it done in 15 minutes? This place is very unorganized and unprofessional. read more

They want to charge you a diagnostic fee before they will do any warranty service. And they won't refund you the money if they found out it is not covered by warranty. I tried talking to the advisor but he said you don't expect us to check the vehicle for free. (Even if it is still under warranty?!) Don't go to this place, try another dealership and I found one that is in the north that won't charge me to check my vehicle and offer better service. I took my mom to Cleo Bay when she was ready for a new car. The process of buying a car took all day and even at the end of the process they try selling you all kinds of extras. I was even told that he cared about his mom and had her add the extra maintenance package to which I replied "Are you suggesting I don't care about my mom if I don't think she needs your maintenance package". My mom might put 5000 miles on her car in a year and that's if I drive it when I come to take her on vacations to Austin or Louisiana from central Texas. For $1300.00 she would only get 3 oil changes and tire rotations that way and she could pay for them out of pocket for around $300.00. Three years in and The SERVICE DEPARTMENT has really let me down. My mom took her car in for routine service and was told she needed a new battery, brake flush and cleaning and adjusting brake shoes on a car that has 13,500. miles on it. The bill came to $423.82 by the time they added what they did. My mom is elderly retired military and has no knowledge about car parts and services and made to feel like she might breakdown on the side of the road without such services. Today we will look into trading in her car with a different dealer brand and will never do business with Cleo Bay and/or Honda again. read more

My wife and I stopped into Cleo Bay Honda late last month. I had been researching CR-Vs online and had visited two other Honda dealers; and had communicated by email with a fourth. I had also been researching used cars as well as Toyotas as a back up, I had settled on a Honda CR-V EX, Molten Lava Red; but we were not ready to buy until mid-March. I also knew that the color I wanted did not last in inventory very long. We were promptly greeted by a friendly sales rep, named Kim. We saw the car that we wanted, but told her that we were not prepared to buy any car that day. We were also helped by the Internet Sales Rep, Edwin. Before we left the dealership, the manager made us an offer which we could not pass up. I knew what a good and a fair price was for the CR-V from my research and we got a good price for the car plus twice what I expected for a trade-in. We received an excellent interest rate on the loan, as well as an unexpected offer from the manager. The teamwork by the sales staff; the excellent customer service; and the manager's creativity led us to buy the car sooner than we had anticipated. We are pleased with the deal that we received and we love the CR-V. The follow-up service was better than we expected. HONDA INSIGHT 2012 HATCH BACK HYBRID I came here a month prior to get a tune up. The employee told me my car doesn't need one and to come back next time. A month later my vehicle died. I got it towed in. They did a diagnostic and I believe they charge me about $120. At first, they said I needed new sparks plugs and ignition coils, so basically a tune up. They was going to charge me about $750. Which is fine because I'm moving and I needed it fix. Later on that day they told me I needed to replace my entire engine because I had blown my engine. I do my own maintenance. They told me I didn't know what I was doing and its my fault. The quote was going to cost me about $3500 to repair/ replace the engine and the piston. Honda Insight had a recall in 2012 for the pistons. They wont grant the repair since it was an old recall. The recall occur before I own the vehicle. I said no and I got it towed back to the house. I bought new spark plugs and ignition coils. I did my own labor and it cost me $400 plus. Once done the engine starts up like new. I drove about 1300 miles from Texas to California. I had no issues the car works fine. Cost Towing to and from Honda $200 Diagnostic fee $120 so it cost me about 320 before I even had a chance to work on the car. Pros: Jennifer was nice and helpful. David Shuttle me home. Very friendly people. Con: Everyone was nice and helpful until they got my money and no longer needed my service. Beware of Cleo Bay Honda I made an appointment with Cleo Bay Honda in Killeen, Texas to get the AC on my car fixed. It took a week to get an appointment so for a week I drove around 105 degree heat in central texas while I patiently waited for my appointment. I took off work and showed up at my scheduled time and was told that they were too busy and that they may be able to get to my car in 3 days. Since my appointment clearly stated that I would wait for the repairs, I was unable to leave my car there without more notice. Now I still have a broken car and a wasted day off from work. They sent me multiple reminders to be on time but nothing about not being able to actual do their job at the agreed open scheduled time. They offered no resolution and did nothing to help. I wouldn't even buy a Honda car at this point. It's pathetic that an appointment means nothing. I would have rented a car or had someone pick me up if they had bothered to let me know that they could not manage their calendar. read more

First, I want to say that I have owned Hondas and Acuras for years and have been a loyal customer because of the quality of their products and honorable service. So posting a rating of just a one star is very disappointing for us. The reason for the one star is because of their service department, specifically speaking, Cleo Bay Honda in Killeen. I had my civic worked on for a replacement of a part. After the service was complete, I noticed oil leaking. I had it checked out, oils replaced, and found out it was a leak near where I had the work done at Cleo Bay Honda. This had not occurred until after the work done there. I then called the service depart twice about the issue, then took it in, just to be told if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay for that specific repair. Regardless of the relationship between the first job and the sprung oil leak. The service manager that I spoke with had zero skills in problem resolution and went straight away into damage control. Up until this point, the Honda motor company (and in several states), their dealerships, and service departments had been a positive experience and the best value amongst any other car brands that I had ever dealt with. Cleo Bay Honda in Killeen Texas has severely blemished that reputation. I will travel to other Honda or Acura dealerships and service departments to conduct business than to repeat my business at this location for the sake of convenience. Bottom line. Stay away from any kind of mechanical work, services, or business dealing with the service department at this location.
