The carrot cake was a tad on dry side, (perhaps it's the French way?) still good, though why knocking off a star. But all reasonably priced; which I guess is relative. Friendly service with a smile and all speak English for the tourists in town. Typical amount of seating for a cafe of this size. As a self-proclaimed croissant connoisseur of sorts (pretty sure I had at least 2-3 a day the week I was in Paris), I can confidently say that out of all the croissants I had, the Croissant Framboise from Bo&Mie was by far the BEST. Perfectly flaky, buttery and light, every single bite was absolutely delicious and I could probably easily eat a dozen of them myself easily. They truly were that good. Just be sure to go early or at odd times because their pastries do sell out quickly and the lines can get pretty long. read more

We had coffee and pastries at Boe & Mie several times on a recent visit to Paris. We stumbled across this location on a walk one day and I loved how clean and bright everything was. It definitely feels a bit corporate, but the food certainly did not! I've tasted the chocolate praline croissant (yes, it's as delicious as it sounds), the smoked salmon sandwich, a quiche, and several coffee drinks. All were delicious and I can see why there are several locations around the city. The only drawback here is that there is ALWAYS a line, no matter what time of day it is. However, I'm a believer that good food is worth waiting for! I was also a little confused about how to order so I'll clarify for everyone here: 1. Get in line 2. As you're in line, look at all the delicious pastries so that you know what you want when it's your turn. 3. Make sure you know what coffee you want as well! 4. You do NOT wait until you get all the way to the cash register to order. Someone will call on you when you're next and you should give them your entire order at one time, including drinks. 5. Enjoy! My friends and I were so so looking forward to this place. Two days in a row we had walked by and there was a line out the door. It has to be good, right? Unfortunately, not in our experience. The pastries and flavors are innovative and sound delicious, yes. They're also beautiful. But these were the stalest croissants I've ever had in my life. We got the mango and the raspberry swirl croissant, both of which were not crisp or tender at all but instead kind of dry and stiff inside. We were on a croissant relay race that day, hitting all the best championship-winning croissant spots in Paris and decided to add this place on a whim since it seemed to be so popular. So perhaps the comparison is a little unfair. But the prices are steep here and at least in our experience, it's much more worth spending those dollars somewhere else with a better crumb. Maybe we just got a stale / not fresh batch. But it seriously seemed like these had been sitting out for days. read more

This was one of the few Boulangeries that was open on a Sunday. It is within walking distance of the Les Halles train station. We walked here from the Louvre with very big appetites and boy were were satisfied. I had a slice of the ham and cheese quiche which was a generous portion. I also got a chocolate croissant to go which was divine. The lemon Madeleines had a citrus filling to them which I was not use to. I had a piece of my parents lemon cake which was also amazing. I don't think you could go wrong with anything here. The store was totally packed but the line moved quickly and the service was excellent. read more

They say they are creative with their treats and they certainly are. I recently tried an "apple shot" (a variant on the Dominique Ansel cookie-shot genre) and a kouign amann. Both delivered; I washed them down with a lovely "Nile" tea from Mariage Freres. It gets busy on weekends so if you want a spot to sit and chat or read and work get here sooner rather than later. read more

They also have a nice selection of sandwiches and lunch bites, juices, teas and a great coffee menu, cappuccinos, lates, macchiatos.... The goat cheese croque monsieur is one of the best Iv had in Paris thus far. I strongly recommend it, 5 euro, toasted and served warm. There are 2 other croque monsieur options with cheese also. Easily one of the best bakeries in Paris, Le Marais district. Croissants consist of a deep buttery body and are kneaded into a multitude of layers to provide that crispy exterior and cascade of flaky then soft layers. They have a hazelnut croissant, which is a Nutella variant in pastry form. Kouign Amaan is buttery heaven. Bo en Mie was my everyday during my trip. C'est magnifique. read more

My husband and I were staying nearby and I dropped in here for some fresh croissants and baguettes. They also have fresh juice and, if memory serves, some coffee that you can buy as well. I found it to be a really nice little boulangerie with a decidedly more modern flair. We were staying really close to this place and decided to pop in. It looks very modern, simple, and clean. They have breads and viennesoire, but we ended up getting a few desserts. 1. Fig tart: not too sweet, good fig flavor with fresh figs- very pretty 2. Rocher chocolate tonka: a chocolate and hazelnut bombe with fleur de sel 3. Passionfruit meringue: fairly light 4. Lemon tart with meringue: standard 5. Passionfruit and mango flan: of the 2 flans, I preferred this one 6. Praline flan: didn't love this one as much; the texture was very similar to praline pie The desserts were all very pretty. I think the highlight was the fig tart for me. After being in Paris for a few days, I can confirm that everyone's English is better than my French (and by that I mean I can speak like 3 words). This place is no exception and serves excellent bread, though I can't say I've had bad bread anywhere in Paris. If anything, you just pick and point at what you want through the display case. Going to this place solo is difficult because you can only try out so many items before you have to settle on 2-3 that appeals to you the most. I ended up going with the house special raspberry croissant and pain au chocolat and an eggplant sandwich. I honestly wanted the one with prosciutto but I accidentally got the one with the eggplant - oh well, no regrets. Well, when you have great pastries there's only so many words you can really say. The crust was buttery and flaky, mildly accented by the sweet raspberry glaze. The pain au chocolat similarly so... but more chocolatey? The sandwich was toasted on a baguette and exceedingly crunchy, an excellent contrast to the soft eggplant and cheese sandwiched in between. Oddly, the most expensive part of my meal was the Ceylon tea. That was around $4 USD by itself. So a sandwich and two pastries for only $8 - an extra dollar or two more than a stateside tiny subpar Starbucks sandwich? How can I complain. read more

BO&MIE served as a perfect morning pit stop for our exploration of Paris, thanks to its proximity to the Metro station. Although it is quite clearly touristy, the pastries are top-notch and reasonably priced. I sampled quite a few as I came with a group of friends and we all ordered a few different items, and my favorites were the pain au chocolat and the tiger bread with olives. The pain au chocolat had the perfect amount of chocolate, the chocolate itself was bittersweet on the side of more sweet, and the croissant layers were some of the buttery and flakiest I tried in Paris. My latte was a lovely mix of foam and espresso. The ambiance of the bakery is cafe-like, and I would definitely recommend taking a break from your adventures and sitting down to eat here. read more

Check your receipt. This place scammed me and once I realized the girl doubled down and tried to lie and say that yes, a sandwich was 12 euro even though it said it was 5 euro. She then tried to say it costs extra to heat it up. We questioned this again and she said to her coworker "they are asking about the charge," and and then went to the tip jar to give us change for what she overcharged.
