I almost had a cat fight with this lady. It wad a thursday afternoon I was in my car calling this lady for my large chicken and broccoli and she was on call with many other people and I had to wait a Bizarre 10 minutes for just a simple meal for my family, then I went all the way back home which is really far from there then I look into my bag just to see broccoli like who would order just brought lady. Then I go all the way back and complain and she tells me I can have it but apparently i didn't say broccoli but in fact I did but she was just all over the place. so I said I'm not paying full price for her mistake I look into the back to see my large chicken just to see her replace it with chopped up tiny pieces of chicken in a tiny container. She told me it was more then what they give but I saw my chicken in the back This was unbelievable petty of her. My family was disappointed and charged me 20$ for that crap . All of the recommendations for Bo Wah are spot on!! By far the best Chinese take out in the area and beyond. The food is hot, fresh and delicious and the service is quick! Absolutely disgusting. I should have listened to my gut and never gone back here. The first time, I caught them putting my food into a container bare-handed like it was no big deal -- no gloves, no care for hygiene, nothing. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but this time was the last straw. I found hair in my food. Hair. That is beyond unacceptable. Not only is it unsanitary, but it also proves they don't take cleanliness seriously in their kitchen. Clearly, they have no respect for their customers' health or money. I will never order from here again, and I strongly suggest anyone who cares about basic hygiene or quality does the same. I never ever thought I'd write a 1 star review unless the circumstances were extreme. Well unfortunately tonight they were. I've been avoiding fast food, Chinese and such justto better my diet. Well tonight I was CRAVING Chinese so I suggested Bo Wah Kitchen. While the spare rib tid bits were delicious as well as my egg roll that unfortunately isn't enough. The general tso's chicken combo had the biggest sharpest piece of plastic I've ever seen. It's shaped almost like the tip of a knife? We called to just let Bo Wah be aware and they said we had to come in to get a refund, not before they tried to convince me that the lid possible snapped off. The lid is completely in tact as you can see. I brought it back and was refunded just for the general tso's. I really didn't feel like fighting so I took it and left. I genuinely enjoyed the food before this experience but now I'm just paranoid it'll happen again. Please be careful with any take out from this restaurant and make sure you save the receipt the item and the "issue" if need be. read more

I have been going there for two years, each time hoping the quality of food would improve, especially when it was acquired by a new owner. I usually order chicken chow mein, roast pork egg foo young, sweet and sour chicken, and shrimp with lobster sauce. I generally order combination dinners that include fried rice and an egg roll. The fried rice is usually dry and has no taste. Same with the main dinner, the food has no taste. For example, the egg foo young is very bland. Their soups have no taste, specially the egg drop soup. I'm going to stop patronizing this restaurant because of the poor quality of food. read more

Love this neighborhood Chinese takeout place. They deliver as well! The fried rice, egg roll and wanton soup are my favorites.

Last two times we ordered from here the rice was missing and the gravy for egg foo young was missing. My husband drove back to pick up because we didn't want to wait for delivery. First time the owners were gracious. Second time the workers were not as cordial. The food was bland this time. Not sure if the place changed owners. Ugh!!! I wish I could have given more stars but I could not. I wanted to give them a 2nd chance. Sadly it was a waste of money. I placed my order at 5:30 for a pick up at 6 PM I got there at 5:50 PM and my order was ready. I thought that was wonderful. Sadly when I got home the eggrolls were not even warm, which means that they heated them how long before I even ordered them.. The only reason I came here again is because I really wanted the wonton egg drop soup the wontons were nasty it was terrible. Positive, they give you three! Negative thing the wontons. The cheese wontons taste like onions, you can't taste anything else as there were onions in it, I actually threw it away. I only wish I took pictures of the food so you can see what it looks like. It looked beautiful. It looked delicious. I was sorely disappointed. It's like the people who do the cooking are not proud of what they're doing and just rush to get it ready. They need to be proud of the food that they make and create. The reason we go there is because a lot of us cannot make what they make. I don't think I will ever go back here again. It was my first time, I just moved here. I unfortunately on dang Christmas Eve; I worked from early Am to late PM again, not able to cook or even get anything besides raw veggies. Could not replace Polish dishes on this day or anything, but here I found this gem and I can't even describe the gratitude and appreciation. I have ordered a hot and sour soup I'd make at home with wild mushrooms from mushroom picking, chow fun with extra veggies and chicken scallion pancake wrap. I'd have taken a picture or video but my beloved inhaled most before I got to my chopsticks and bowl. The soup itself was amazing, but my picky person would like it more spicy and more mushroom. Obviously the scallion pancake was better than amazing. Personally, I don't think I ever had chow fun/hor this simple and amazing before. I hope more people come to this Long Island gem. I have yet to have a bad meal here. I have been coming to Bo wah since my husband and I started dating 10 years ago. Since then I have not found a better chinese food place and I am traveling 20 min south from kings park ny. Their Chicken & broccoli combo with pork fried rice is my absolute favorite! the chicken is always cooked perfectly and even with my Odd order of asking for it "extra extra crazy hot spicy with red pepper oil and red pepper shavings" they get it perfect every time. Ps- if you like it spicy just order it like that, I almost laugh every time bc I sound ridiculous when ordering but it is so worth it. My niece had the fried wonton soup and she loved it, she said it was so flavorful and she would definitely order it again. I had the wonton egg drop soup which is my favorite and I also wasn't disappointed! We also enjoyed an egg roll with our soups. I like Bo Wah a lot and will continue to do business with them. Decided to order for delivery tonight...45mins and right on time. The girl on the phone was pleasant and took the order with ease...unfortunately the food was mostly lackluster in my book. We ordered General Tso's chicken combo (x2), a chicken and Broccoli combo, and a small pork lomein. The chicken was actually pretty good, and the best part of the meal. I order it extra crispy and extra spicy and I did get that, but the flavor was mostly due to their "hot oil" (in quotes because it is more of a thick Sriracha sauce rather then the usual hot oil). There also wasn't enough sauce for me. The rice was very mushy (very overcooked) and very bland. While there were large chunks of onions and a decent amount of roast pork, it seemed as though these items were cooked separately then tossed altogether instead of cooking them together to bring out the flavor. The lomein had a strange sauce on it that none of us really cared for...however, my mom seemed to enjoy her chicken and Broccoli...eggrolls were standard and a bit mushy in the middle instead of crispy and the filling seemed to be muddled altogether...nothing special at all. 3 stars because the service was friendly, they came on time, and the chicken was pretty good but not enough sauce... we will not be ordering from here again... read more

This was our go to place for many many years. I don't know why they don't post their menu online. We googled the menu which was mistaken prices ( sure no problem don't care about them raising prices at all) first time ordering chicken pineapple rice. On the menu I looked at just stated that and not shrimp. My husband gave me my food and it was with shrimp on top. We called up 2 days later to see what they could do. I would of brought my food back to get it without shrimp. The young girl got nasty saying that the menus are not correct and random people posting their menus up with different prices and different things on the menu. I then spoke to the owner who was so rude to me. I was trying to explain to her she did not want to listen and she said she didn't wanna do anything about it so I'm giving this business a one star which is really said we've been going to them for years and years and even when they make mistakes we never complain we just get a credit for next time. First off general chows chicken tasted like spicy orange Chicken and the pork fried rice literally just tasted like regular white rice. Lastly the eggroll was tasteless. Been coming to this Chinese take out in Bay Shore for years and the food hasn't changed one bit. They have the standard take out dishes all done very well. Favorites are the Mongolian beef, General Tso's chicken and garlic chicken. They serve great spare ribs as well. Staff seems to be moody every time and the girls who work the counter look miserable seeing as it's constantly crowded when I come. Prices are pretty much the same as anywhere else.
