Would have done 3.5 stars. I ordered a quart of hot and spicy soup, placing the order/paying for it on Yelp before they opened, and specified a particular time. The woman was on the phone when I arrived, so I had to wait a few minutes. The ingredients were in the container, and when she got off the phone, she poured the liquid in. This was great because it wasn't sitting on the counter getting cold. It was given to me as hot as it could be. Now just be careful because I've gotten hot and sour soup elsewhere and at this place, there's all sorts of things in it that I did not anticipate. Normally there is vegetables, egg and tofu. Well this one had meat, shrimp, and possibly chicken (I'm not sure on that). So this can be alarming for vegetarians or people with allergies. Make sure you specify in advance if you need certain items eliminated. The establishment itself is pretty run down and not the cleanest looking. read more

I moved to the Islip area in 2020 and this has been my go to Chinese place. I tried a bunch of different chinese spots in the area but my family and I like this spot the most! They are nice and polite people too. None of my orders have ever been messed up and the food is good. I've tried alot of their appetizers and dinner/lunch combos and they are all good. I used to come here all the time but haven't in a few months. I don't know if they changed owners, suppliers, or what but it was horrible. The egg roll was eh nothing special and I have no idea what meat was used in my chicken and string beans dish but it was not chicken. I think we finally found a winner. We have been trying to find a good local spot to order from and I think this is it. The woman on the phone repeated most of my order so I could confirm it was correct. The sesame chicken had a lot of sauce and chicken wasn't chewy. Great portion. It does come with rice also. We tried the vegetable dumplings which were fresh but could have been steamed a little longer. Delivery was fast and the driver was extremely friendly. If you like bland, unseasoned Chinese food this place is for you. Tonight was my first order from tasty house. I always use wonton soup as a gauge for how the rest of the meal might taste, and I was right again. The broth wasn't salty enough and simply lacked flavor. The wonton dumplings were the same: bland and lack of seasoning. The egg foo young sauce was the same; a total lack of flavor and seasoning. I can go on about the rest of the meal tonight but I think you get the picture. Bland, bland, bland. I'm never going back. read more

I have ordered from here several times, I usually order the beef with snow peas, and also the beef on a stick, with a side of pork fried rice The beef on a stick are delicious, but please note they only come three per package, not four like traditional Chinese food places The pork fried rice, is tasty and made fresh, but it's a little bland compared to other places, but at the same time that's kind of good because you can always add soy sauce, or hot mustard, and everybody can fix it to their liking without being over tasty The snow peas and beef are delicious as well, that this includes mushrooms so if you do not like mushrooms please when you order tell them you don't want mushrooms The almonds cookies are also a nice dessert for only $.75 I want to also add that I ordered in the middle of blizzard of 2016, and they delivered with in one hour, thank you so much guys read more

Well. I chose this place at random since I was in the mood for Chinese and was craving some dumplings. Whatever you do, don't order the steamed vegetable dumplings. Unseasoned and bland. Dough was not correct either. The General Two's was alright. Probably wont go there again. read more

Probably would've been better off ordering Chinese food but rather I got the Drunken noodles with shrimp. Generous portion but unfortunately the food was subpar. Totally Impressed! We all know it's tough finding an excellent Chinese spot. Don't know why this is but as a self proclaimed Chinese food connoisseur there are only a handful of outstanding Chinese food takeout in Suffolk County. I was wary about ordering in the first place, because I don't trust like that, but oh so glad that we did! At 7pm I called in for delivery, ordered a quart of Pork Fried Rice, Quart of General Tso's Chicken, Large order of ribs on the bone, Wonton Soup, Eggroll and Scallion Pancake. The rice had sooo many pork chunks, scallion and generally had fantastic flavor, no soy sauce needed! The chicken, perfectly fried and sauced, just the right amount of spice. Fresh and crunchy served over perfectly steamed broccoli, still crunchy not soggy . The scallion pancake was great, and tasted as expected, the eggroll as well. Everything crunchy and not soggy. yes! Lastly the Wonton Soup had 3 big wontons in a small, tasted good and was generous. Oh wait, they also delivered it in a timely manner, like 40 mins or so... Happy Customer! A great neighborhood take out place. The owners are so friendly and always greet you with a smile. You need to try their chicken with bean sprouts. Pieces of chicken with sprouts in a very light ginger sauce leaves such a clean taste in your mouth. I have yet to find any other place that makes it like they do. We order here regularly, and the hot and sour soup is my moms absolute favorite (and the only thing she would eat after 2 surgeries). They use better quality ingredients than a lot of other places we've gotten from, and are typically very quick with delivery. It was pretty terrible. Everything either had no flavor or was over flavored. The lo mein was bland. Lobster sauce had zero flavor other than the pink shrimp which were probably loaded with iodine. It would not be fair to say it tastes bad. It has absolutely no taste. Not even the barbequed spare ribs. How is it possible? No salt, no seasoning, no sauce, dry and the tell tale sign that this place should not be in business is the frozen vegetables. I won't say they'd bad because they're not. However, I agree that some of their food doesn't have much taste to it. The fried rice was acceptable so to say. However, the boneless spare ribs tasted a bit off. Whether that was too much salt, too much sauce or just how they make them I'm not sure. Went to Tasty House to pick up my food order. The man behind the counter rang me up. I became curious that the transaction was taking too long. He called over the young woman behind the counter to help him complete my transaction. I then signed my receipt and left. It wasn't until about 10 minutes later that I realized that they double charged me so I returned to the restaurant. I told her that I was double charged and she says to me "yes,I know". I know that accidents happen , I'm not a jerk. What upset me was the fact that she knew the error was made and didn't say anything, she just sent me on my way. The receipt I signed had the correct amount on it, but my account transaction was for double the amount. I think that's very sneaky! If you know you made a mistake be upfront about it and acknowledge the mistake. Don't try to con me in the hopes that I won't notice.
