This has been one of our go to Chinese take out places since I was a little girl. They're nice people here and the food is always good quality. It's nice that they always remember my family and treat us nicely. In my opinion the food is always how I expect it to taste and very flavorful, not like other places where it tastes different every time. My favorite is the beef with broccoli, it's never chewy and it has the perfect amount of gravy, not dry. The pot stickers are delicious too! read more

Sautéed string bean, beef chow fun, General Tso's Chicken were some of the things I ordered recently and they were all delicious. This is my go to place for Chinese takeout food and I'm so glad it's close. People come from pretty far even though there are places that are closer to home. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Mostly I keep going back because the food is solid and consistently good. Prices are fair, way better than Peninsula but I understand they have higher overhead. I got take out from this place last night so I can watch the OJ Simpson show. I do not eat the chicken or meat from Chinese restaurants but I do eat the seafood...yes, I know that is weird lol. Bottom line is yes I would go back. I judge all Chinese restaurants from their eggrolls. No place beats hunan but this was almost close. I also got the shrimp with lobster sauce and of course had to get what everyone was raving about the pineapple fried rice. My friend got sweet and sour chicken. The pineapple fried rice was good and next time I will get only this and the eggroll. It sort of had a refreshing taste to it. The shrimp with lobster sauce was alright which is the reason for my 4 stars. The fried rice that came with the meal was just alright too. If I am in the mood for Chinese and in the area again I would go here. read more

Bo Wah has some of the best chinese food i've had in a long time. Everything is always fresh and tasty. The cheese wontons are amazing. The crispy beef totally lives up to its name. We've had nearly everything in the menu and we always have a great meal. read more

The food isnt the same. I use to go there all the time. Theres a different cook. Foods greasy not as flavorful as it use to be. I stopped going there for over 2 yrs. I decided to try it again the egg rolls burnt and extremely greasy and the vegetable lo mein was as well. Dont think i will be going back anymore. read more

This has been our GoTo for Chinese in Islip for the past 5 years. They NEVER disappoint. We get the orange chicken, shrimp egg rolls, crabmeat rangoons (cheese wantons?) vegetable fried rice, shrimp lo mein, etc. I guess its a little pricey, usually about $35 feeds my family of five with some leftovers for the next day for lunch. I get the soda at 7-11 though. BoWah is consistent quality, always hot, always tasty. I've tried the others in the area, they just are not as good. read more

The pork fried rice had something akin to quinoa or cous cous in it, which was really weird. Shrimp Lo Mein was off. Wonton soup was off. Sesame chicken was OK. Definitely have had much better on the Island. read more

I am so frustrated. I ordered from BoWah at 5:45, they said 45 minutes for delivery. I called at 6:45, they said it was leaving then. At 7:05 I call again, we live 8 minutes from there and she tells me it will be there any minute. I ask about temperature and I'm told it will be hot. Food arrives at 7:11pm, and I had to reheat it for my kids. I call back to tell her it is cold and all she tells me is that they will not deliver to me again and to not call them again. $60 of cold food and not an offer to make it right just that they will come and pick up the food and cancel the order at 7:15pm. Have they never heard of Covid, what were they going to do with me cold greasy food, send it to someone else in their order? The Customer service was disgusting, and the food no better. Especially in a time where we are trying to help small businesses stay afloat. I'm so disappointed. Don't waste your time, Or money on this one. read more

NEVER AGAIN. Where do I begin?! First, I called and advised right up front that I was picking up two orders. When I arrived all the food was on one receipt. Part of the order was to be paid in cash and the other part was to be paid with a card. Second, they only gave one pt of white rice when there should have been two separate cartons. I had to give up my rice. Third, the quality of the food, especially the meat is crappy and cheap. Chewy beef, big horsey, tough spare ribs. Also, if I order shrimp with asparagus I expect just that, no celery (celery, can you imagine?) Carrots, water chestnuts and yellow asparagus tips. Yellow asparagus is old and should be thrown in tve garbage. To top it off the sauce was spicey from toooo much white pepper. So much white pepper that my tongue was on fire. My God, such slop, 30 dollars worth. Shame on this place. Would it kill them to stick a fortune cookie in the bag? This place deserves negative stars! read more

Completely awful. Ordered general tso chicken with fried rice. Rice was super old,not just a day like it should be and flavorless. The chicken was good chicken but the breading and sauce were completely terrible. I also got the Kung Po Chicken. Again, the rice was awful, but the chicken was good....until i found three hairs in it..... even the wonton soup was horrible, flavorless and gross. they didn't even give us a price over the phone or an approximate time. Work a lot of late nights in a local ER - this is the go to place for Chinese. BIG fan of the Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice with Shrimp and the BBQ Pork Buns (like I get in Flushing) won ton soup is hot and filled roast pork, spinach/bok choy, pepper steak with tomatoes is great - tender with lots of tomatoes (I had actually given up on this dish because so many take out places don't have tomatoes consistently) service is great - and delivery is quick! So far our orders are always correct, food is hot and well prepared. The Pineapple Fried Rice is my fav.... but so far everything has been consistently delicious!! Xie Xie Bo Wah!! read more

This place is hit or miss. Egg foo yung has a strange fishy flavor and very greasy. Fried rice is not fantastic. Don't like the chicken and broccoli either, that fishy flavor again. My wife and i go here often. I get the sesame prawns and they are the best that I have ever had (they are like General Tso's chicken but without the meat). My wife typically orders the steamed broccoli with tofu and brown sauce plus brown rice. The quality of this dish has been sliding for the last year and we are not sure why. Tofu has not been fresh. This is the only Chinese take out place I go to. I won't try any other place. Food is good, love the egg rolls! Food tastes fresh. 3 of my favorite dishes are the chicken with cashews, sesame chicken and vegetable Lo-Mein. My husband loves their beef lo-mein, Roast pork egg foo young and their fried wontons. I am writing because they are not nice people and very bitter and petty. We always order and pay a tip this is America but one day we forgot to add it to the credit card bill and the delivery guy had left already. Our plan was to double the tip for next time we order like at least once a week !! Do you know they refused to deliver to us when we called the next week with an attitude we were so surprised over a couple of dollars that's so childish.. This is a pretty good place, but definitely typical Long Island Chinese take-out. Don't expect great food here. But it's better than the surrounding take out places I have tried. The Sesame Chicken is pretty good as is the Chow Fun (wide noodles). Their Won-Ton soup is pretty decent too. I don't like the Chicken with Broccoli much- there's a fishy flavor I can't get past and the broccoli florets are way too big! They are very nice when you go in person but are hit and miss over the phone. It's great when the American girls who work there answer, but there's a Chinese guy who answers once in a while who is barely understandable and he impatiently grunts his questions. I have lived in the area for 17 years and this place is thus far the best place to get sesame chicken with fried rice and sweet and sour chicken with rice. Its crunchy and its unlike other places where there is more breading than there is meat. If you are ever in need to get chinese food, I would highly recommend this place. And their timing is spot on, I haven't ordered delivery but I go out of my way from CI to get my chinese here. read more

Have to be real honest here... Had take out from here and the food had to be the WORST food I've eaten, possibly ever... You hear me? It was so bad that my wife and I threw it out... The rice was horrible. The chicken was soft and mushy as if it had been cooked and sitting around for a day or two. The garlic sauce had NO garlic taste and the food overall, was bland and tasteless! You ever hear of Chinese food without any flavor? God, I mean that's what's great about Chinese food, flavor and more flavor! Not this place... Anyway, not the first time... I've been disappointed before and this is the last time... Again... Just horrible!!! I spend $100.00 to $150.00 a week on takeout food...
