Who knew this…read morewould be one of the last fun events for me, prior to Covid and without the masks and physical distancing! Now, it's a much cherished memory! Bonnie, who is the Charming Owner, prepared a truly amazing evening for us. It was only 4 couples, so we got a lot of attention from Two Experienced Instructors. My husband and I did try working with the rolled-out clay before, but we wanted to try the wheel throwing and that was exactly what this evening was about! And it is true what everyone says: it is very very difficult, even though it looks simple at a first glance. With some much needed help, we were able to take a few cups and dishes home. The atmosphere was lovely. There was a table with delicious snacks (cheese plate and crackers, dips, and lovely sweets, including chocolate covered strawberries!) for us and complimentary wine and bubbles. That surely boosted my confidence, as neither me, nor my husband had any clue about the wheel throwing and centering :) The Instructors were very patient, if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be able to do anything, as it turned out I was hopeless with the wheel. It was a fun, hands-on night in a relaxing atmosphere, with music and wine. No prior experience was needed. The clay is unlimited, but you will not leave with your piece in hand, as it needs some drying, curing and baking. We left our pieces for glazing (they had a choice of several colors) and baking. They were ready for pick after several days. The clay is wet and messy, so don't come dressed up, it's a more casual feel. I am really interested in the many events Bonnie is organizing. The Cocktails and Clay series is very popular and sells out fast. Each time there is a different piece, so you can come multiple times. They also offer a more classic technique-forward course and many classes for kiddos! Throughout the pandemic, Bonnie had some awesome events, where you could pick a ready dish for painting at home etc. I am so looking forward to coming back at some point! There is nothing more relaxing than making your hands busy & dirty, and train your creative muscles, while forgetting the daily worries. Very relaxing and fun!

Had a blast! Great date night and if the people in my group are any indication a great girl's…read morenight out. I like that this company goes to different venues to have painting parties. It allows you to check out a place you might otherwise have never visited which makes it super easy to surprise someone. Guys, make the reservations online and take your lady out to dinner or for drinks and surprise her when the painting party starts! Our facilitator was Rachel and she was awesome. She dumbed it down enough that even I felt like I was doing okay! The fact that they visit different places to hold the parties is probably the reason why there are so few reviews here but the night I went if we had all reviewed there would be twenty more 5 star reviews on here. We all had a good time and it was fun meeting new people and going outside my comfort zone to do something new. Will definitely do this again!

I figured there would be instruction and tips and an open forum for questions. And I believe there was all of that, however, nothing that I could actually hear. The woman instructing was very sweet and friendly and put in a bad situation where the room that she reserved was not available or some failing occurred. Everyone should have been given the choice to re-schedule as no one at our table could hear anything. We were asked often if we could hear and every time I shook my head indicating I could not hear but yet she still spent all her time at the other table with a few attempts to come closer to our table when a question/answer session started. It became SO frustrating not being able to hear that I tuned out hoping we'd get home in Time for the sitter, wishing I could just get the supplies and finish in my comfortable, quiet home with no equines within 6 feet of me. NOT the relaxing, enjoyable, therapeutic experience we were hoping for and next time we will spend the 11$ (the fee ON TOP of Groupon pricing you will get charged) on a similar planted/Halloween plant at Michaels Regarding the woman that tried to teach this class I feel bad for her as she may not know how to handle these unexpected situations and may be limited in what she can offer but this was unacceptable.... We were forced to be a bigger part of the bar experience then we would have liked. We got there about 8 minutes late and she checked our names but other people at the table were musing how anyone could have taken their seat as their Groupon was never checked...and we were in the middle of a bar. The people at my table were complaining about the 11$ fee on top of the Groupon fee... young professionals feeling like they got ripped off isn't a way to inspire repeat business... IF THERES A FEE include it in a higher Groupon price so people don't go into it feeling ripped off or leaving feeling even worse when the experience was a failure. I had forgotten that fee but the young professionals had not. Skip the plant nite... even if everything has been as it should have been I believe this group on Would have been a failure either way and I would never recommend or do again... the conservatory has free workshops all the time and often you take things home with you... all for less (admission is 4$) then the "additional fee" with this company

It was pretty good for a small local haunt. There is one part where you have to walk over this round flat piece of wood that's spinning really fast and I almost fell into the wall and scraped my arm slightly so that wasn't my favorite part lol. I did not do the maze at the end because they said it's pitch black dark and you have to feel your way out so I can't speak on that part. Overall it's a good cheap haunt that don't break the bank.

I stumbled upon Granny's Garden school through a Yelp service event we were doing and instantly…read morefell in love. Now Granny's Garden school is actually part of Loveland Elementary school. We looked and looked and could not find it because the place itself does not exist. Granny herself runs this nonprofit as more of an educational giving back kind of initiative. As we were moving piles of mulch to the garden beds we met her in person and wow what a special person! She explained to all of us the history of how she got started and it was basically to teach children early about how to eat healthy and that healthy eating can be fun, and delicious! She also said that each classroom of the school has a plot that they are responsible for growing during the season. The class then harvests the plants and they are used for the school's lunches!!! How cool is that? We had processed patties of who knows what slopped on our trays. She even said that kids will eat raw veggies right out of the garden. And when I say raw, some of the kids just take bites out of tomatoes and eat them whole! What a great cause. I would have never even known about this place, but if you are looking to volunteer or just have fun giving back this is a great great place. There were even some high school kids earning class credit on the day we went.

There is not a single part of our society, our world, that isn't affected by the trades. We are so conditioned to think that college is the way to go, that you won't be successful without an expensive piece of paper that essentially says you spent a lot of money and can put up with four or more years of BS. That is simply not true. What would our world be without welders, metal workers, plumbers, printers, carpenters, mechanics, and/or a whole host of other skilled workers doing all of that stuff that is easy to take for granted? I constantly tell my son, "You don't HAVE to go to college to be successful and earn a good, solid living to support your family. What you DO need is a marketable skill (or skills), and the constant drive to be the best you can be in that skill. Some people are well cut out for college, and yes, the world needs college educated people so don't think I'm putting down the collegiate route. But the world also needs skilled tradesmen and craftsmen. Doors are open and available, you just have to make a choice and do your best, be the best in whatever endeavor you choose." I took a tour of this place on 25 July, brought my whole family out there. It was like being in a candy store to me. I was also watching my son, and the look on his face mirrored what I was feeling inside. My four things I was keenly interested in were the Bridgeport mill, the various lathes, the forge, and the CNC. They literally have everything from old school lathes to laser cutters. The business is run on a membership basis, much like a gym. And much like a gym, there are tools and such which require classes before use, such as the welding tools. Also, they have lessons for everything else, too. Just like a gym. In my opinion, you get a lot of value for your money if this is what you're interested in. And just to round off the experience, and perhaps what I like most about the trades, is that everyone there was so friendly. I find that to be true of people who are serious about trades, that they share skills and knowledge. There is nothing better than correctly creating the thing you want to create and seeing someone you are teaching create that first thing they want to create. Check them out if you're in the area. They offer free tours and I don't think you will be disappointed.
