    My final masterpiece

My first visit to Board & Brush & I enjoyed my visit so much. You reserve your spot and pick which design you want to do online before you arrive. You also pay online as well (I'm sure you could go in prior to your visit in person if you wanted as well). My board is already put together, but you have to sand, customize how distressed you wanted the wood to be, stain, customize & paint how you like it. The employees will help you put on the way to hang the board on the back too! If your looking for some therapy- the 3 minutes of distressing your wood with heavy tools is quite nice! Get some stress out! Lol. They have about 5-6 people per table and there are employees there to help you every step of the way. Raegan & Jess helped me the most and they were super nice and helpful! There is tons of wood decor on the walls if you need ideas for your creatively and they supply everything you need for your custom sign. They also play music videos & music while you are working on your project so it's fun and not just silent. My project was $65- today I got a promo code to return and get a discount on my next visit. I will definitely come back and bring some family members with me next time- my project time was 10am-1pm but I got done at 12pm so only took less than 2 hours- depends how detailed your sign is and how long you want to keep perfecting it. Great spot for birthdays, bridal events, mental break, weekend fun or time with friends and family.

I bought my mom a gift card for Christmas and we enjoyed a lovely Saturday afternoon there. They allocate 4 hours for the class which I thought would be excessive but turns out you need that much time. You are able to pick your project ahead of time and are limited to the items in there galley, as they prepare the items ahead of time (stencils). When you arrive they have your piece of wood available at your table and then once the class begins they walk you through each step, sanding, staining, painting, stenciling, seals/glitter and then You're all set! We had a great experience and LOVE our projects! There are several people there to support your creativity and project. They do an excellent job of supporting but not taking over. Also they told us for future classes you can BYOB wine after 4pm!

This was a really fun date night...and I'm extremely happy with how my board came out! I didn't think I could make anything Iike this! Will definitely be back!

Went for a job building activity was very fun. We ate our dinner and proceeded to make our signs while drinking the night away!

So much fun! Great date night! I discovered this place while looking for a painting class for me and my boyfriend. It's pricey but I'm so glad we went! The girls that work there are super friendly and personable. They really make the experience extra enjoyable. The projects can seem overwhelming but are quite doable. My boyfriend said he was surprised at how much customization you can do to your project. He was worried it would be more "paint on a stencil and go" type thing, but you make it your own from beginning to end. We will definitely be going again!

    Next Day Signs & Printing

Boy! I hate to leave a bad review but I consider this a public service announcement. Ken tanked an…read moreimportant print job, stuck me with an inferior product that hurt my standing with the client and left me high and dry. 1. I reached out more than a month before the job because I knew I'd need some rush printing day-of. In exchange for helping me out with that rush job, I'd send this printer ALL my business for my scottsdale client. 2. I sent Ken all my Scottsdale business - several thousand dollars worth. I printed gigantic standalone banners and die-cut, adhesive back vinyl stuff, A TON of printed material. And did Ken ever charge a premium for that stuff, a big markup for "rush" orders (where he didn't even download the file for printing until days later.) His prices weren't especially competitive, but I thought I was buying peace-of-mind. 3. The day comes when I need the rush order - effectively same-day printing. Not a gigantic order - two hundred 11x17 prints, but I needed them on time - and Ken got real unprofessional. Here's what happened... - Though I frequently reminded him that we'd be doing an important same-day job, he neglected to schedule it. It was a big surprise! - He said he couldn't do the print job that day because I didn't have the originals to him by 9am. - He would not verbally commit to doing the work at any time during that long stressful day. - He said he couldn't make my deadline because his wife "had dinner reservations. " - He refused to located the paper-stock I requested and instead tried to foist me onto a paper that wouldn't have taken a fold. He told me the stock I wanted "was not available in Scottsdale." I had to go to a Staples, buy the stock myself and deliver it to him by hand. - Instead of meeting him at his nearby place of business, he asked me to drive an hour to meet him outside a Bank Of America, because "he had to go to the bank." - He charged a 100% markup for his rush fee. That's 2x the cost. (And remember - I bought the paper and gave it to him.) - Instead of professionally printing the 11x17's at the correct size (borderless), he just hit print on some kind of color copier and printed them out - with a thick white border. They looked terrible. So - if you need a professional job done at a competitive rate - this is probably not the print shop for you. REPLY TO KEN'S RESPONSE Woof. Ken, I'm not here to fight. And you don't probably don't really want a big long tirade where you call your customers liars. I have uploaded a couple of pics that show the botched job and the text conversation that followed. Here's what I DO want... 1. I want a stress-free interaction with a print shop. 2. I want a company called "Next Day" to offer rapid turn-around printing. 3. If I give you a month's notice on a same-day print job, I want you to honor our agreement. OR, if you can't do a same day job, I want you to tell me so I can go to another print shop in the area. 4. If I spend several thousand dollars with you, I want you to treat me like a valued customer. 5. If you screw up a print job and the client's not happy, I want you to fix it. So, is that you, Ken? You may have to stay an hour late -- maybe even two hours -- but I gave you a month's notice. And spent a ton of money with you. And you screwed the job and called me a liar.

I was in a bind because it came on the day of my boyfriend's birthday so I desperately called David asking if he can help. He wasn't sure if he could fix it until he could look at it but told me to come on in and he'd be honest with me if repair was possible/ worth it. When I got there he took me back to his workshop and it was really cool. I kind of have a weird fascination with neon signs, so it was really fun to pick his brain about the process and his clients. We chatted for about an hour as he assessed/ fixed my sign and let me tell you, David is a really cool, accomplished guy so I knew I could trust his professional opinion. Unfortunately the sign was beyond repair, but he came up with a solution to salvage what was working. The best part? He only charged me $10!! I only had $5 in my wallet and he took it instead. He also told me he normally runs a $60 minimum... what a guy! I cannot say enough kind words about David! I came frantic and stressed out, and left content and impressed. The next neon sign I get, I'll happily spend a little more for the quality and amazing service. Extra perk- there won't be any anxiety about it arriving broken. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!
