When I arrived we were given aprons to put on. It's a BYOB establishment. We checked our stencils they pre-print to make sure it is correct spelling and what we wanted. First we were told to sand our wood the edges and everywhere with the grain. Then brushed off the saw dust. We picked our stains, which I chose Jacobean since it was dark and natural looking we let them dry when we were done staining(the thinner the stain the better we were told). I chose white paint for my letters with a barn red accent for lines under my name. After that dried I requested to wax it which makes it look slightly aged instead of bright white and the grain comes through. We put the hooks on the back on and I was done. Everything was very simple if you're scared it'll be too much. Some projects have multiple boards and you use a power tool to screw them together but it's very simple and they help you if you need it. At the very end they gave me a punch card which says after the 5th time the 6th is free and took my photo and I was on my way. Very happy with my experience and sometimes they have deals or certain drop in no reservation day for special projects

This last time, I painted "Pretty N Pink." On my first two visits, the instructor was Christy. On this last visit, my instructor was Monique! I have had SO much fun each time I've gone. They were both engaging, fun and very good artists/instructors. They take the time to make sure you feel good about your painting. They are also always there to help, as well as the other helpers that circle the floor while you paint. It can be a bit overwhelming to come in to a blank canvas and blobs of paint in front of you, especially if you aren't an "artist," but they take you step by step and the outcome is usually beautiful! That's also where the wine comes in handy lol (you can bring/drink wine and have snacks). Plus, you don't have to paint the painting exactly as they have it! You can make it your own by switching up some of the colors if you'd like. I think that's awesome! I never feel like mine are perfect (I'm a little perfectionist and hard on myself sometimes lol), but that's the beauty of it and what makes the paintings unique! I can't wait to go back again and again to see what else I can create! Also, if you STILL don't like your painting once you've finished and gone home, you can take it to one of the free SOS classes and fix it! You can go back as many times as you like, even if you painted the picture years ago. I think that's a great perk and it's so nice of them to offer it!

From the moment we walked in, the older white woman at the front didn't even greet us. No hello, no welcome--just "Name?" and "Take a seat there." The energy was cold, rude, and unwelcoming. The staff came across as sassy, nonchalant, and irritated instead of creating a fun atmosphere for paying customers. Even the music was off and didn't match the vibe that the event was supposed to represent. I expected good energy, culture, fun, and hospitality. Instead, I felt like just another dollar sign. I emailed and called (no answer) the owners asking to reschedule or get a refund. They to have someone bring my kids and drop them off! When I didn't think was a good idea Then offered to reschedule the kids night for an extra $30! For the 2nd event they told me to find someone to go in my place and refused to reschedule it. I asked them if I could just send someone to pickup the items so I could do them at home and they refused that. Then told me to send someone in my place, however when I tried to send a friend they then told me they didn't make my piece so I forfeited my spot. I ended up having to dispute it through my bank & then received nasty emails from the owners saying I better not step foot in there again. This is after I sent proof of my hospital stay! I would never spend a dime here & I hope I get my $150 back! To have to deal with this while being admitted,missing 2 weeks of work in this economy is dreadful.

There is a huge selection of paint your own pottery, canvas painting and glass fusion, plus they have a pottery wheel! It is so hard to find a pottery wheel around Memphis, but they have one here! My kids love the Kids' Corner (a cozy, out-of-the-way pocket for small children to play cars or dolls or even take a nap on the little sofa) and all of the kids' items for painting, plus even my husband will come in with us because they'll put the game on for him.
